Well situated for a brief 10 minute walk to town centre in a pleasant safe area.

but close to the centre, good jumping off point for exploring the area.

The location is ideal, easy to find, within walking distance to the city centre and perfect for exploring the highlands.

A very well situated hotel that is just 10 minutes stroll to the centre.

We were in the main hotel and then in the spa centre hotel.Both were well appointed 
rooms.

Inverness also has a great number of restaurants in the city centre.

Only a 15 minute walk from the city centre, it is a perfect base to explore Inverness and the surrounding area. 10/10.

We made full use of the leisure centre and it was my first time using the gym equipment.

All the staff were so friendly and helpful, hotel is a 25 minute walk into the city centre.

As well as being within walking distance of the main town centre and just off the A9 motorway, the location is ideal for exploring all areas of Inverness-shire.

The location is good, only about a 20-minute walk from the city centre or 5 minutes by car.

Very comfortable hotel only a 10 min taxi ride from Inverness centre.

Location was ideal as we didn't have to travel through city centre to access locations we wished to visit.

Food was excellent, location was just 5 minute drive from main centre, very clean.

Inverness centre was only a short walk away (15mins) so nice to wander in for a look round and we had dinner out one evening at Zizzis which was great as overlooks the river Ness.

We got married at the hotel on October 1st and what can I say.. it was everything we wanted and more.

In fact they were presented exactly as at the Gleneagles resort which is definitely five star.

Every day we had a different issue with tours and taxis and we were misinformed by staff at the hotel.

We just had a wonderful morning at the kingmills Hotel.

The rooms in the hotel are very roomy (bathroom included).

but was so taken with Inverness and the lovely staff in your hotel.

Beautiful well managed hotel - the rooms are gorgeous - staff is polite and professional.

We ended up at another hotel and had a brilliant stay.

At breakfast in the main hotel, a request for a cappuccino was met with the information that the bar was closed, and it was necessary to explain what an espresso was.

Good hotels don’t ask customers to do their work.

A previous reviewer was really down on the King's Club which is a newer adjunct to the older Kingsmill Hotel where the main dining room and bar are located.

Bottom line is if you want your best day to be held at the best location then look no further than the Kingsmills Hotel , you will not be disappointed or regret your choice .

Location is close to many sites we had on our list to see.

Lastly, this hotel is a perfect location for a tour of the Highlands.

We stayed in room 22 which is one of the classic rooms located towards the Leisure facilities, to the right of reception.

Location is some way out of central Inverness so taxi essential.

We selected a contemporary Executive Garden Room which was located in a small cluster of rooms at the back of the hotel in a purpose built annex.

Great location, lovely rooms, large comfortable beds and very clean.

After several phone calls, I still await a response.

It was impossible to use for video calling or frankly even general web browsing.

Having made multiple phone calls to the Kingsmill on the run up to the event at no point, even after talking to the desk about our stay with them, did anyone care to mention that no stay was included!

but the lady on reception was busy and said she would phone back.

Even more alarmingly, there was an abundance of, what can I call them, trimmed hairs, around the toilet bowl.

We couldn't call room service or reception from our room (another telephone system failure) so had to call from my mobile.

Calls to reception went unanswered and no one from the hotel seemed to care about the noise impact on guests (and they were doing it directly outside reception in full view and earshot of any night manager, had they been awake).

When we came back after dinner, the wet carpet was worse and the room smelled of damp, the telephone didn't work to call reception  and the tv remote was missing!

When you arrive, you are informed to call the Leisure Club to reserve a time slot.

The shower was terrible, the room service/ daily cleaning didn’t exist, we had to call in the evening,

but when I said we received our courtesy call the all of a sudden found it, but not in the room we booked - we were given a family room instead.

Her exact words were 'do you want to run up to your room to get your phone, or would you rather wait until I go and print off a menu for you' Wow!

Got pre-check in phone call afternoon before explained everything to expect due to Covid.

The Covid check-in was rather lengthy on the phone

but would call our room if there was a cancellation.

We received a phone call the night prior to our arrival asking if we’d had any COVID symptoms and to advise us of the check in process for the next day.

The drinks service was very slow as they usually only have one person working the bar, no drinks were offered in a mini bar in the room, and the room keys continually stop working as they can't be stored near a phone (which isn't ideal when storing in a handbag).

We had already received a call from the hotel the day before explaining the Covid-19 processes and that check in would be done via email.

Even asked for a specific time to call and called back at that time.

Then as a customer, I asked about a fan, sure, no problem.

On arrival at the hotel we were asked to walk across to the opposite side of the carpark (laden with our bags) to the annex building which is apparently the Spa resort.

As I wasn’t wearing a mask, the waitress in the morning asked if I was exempt and I told her I was, she then asked if I wanted a sticker to wear so I could be identified.

We were told we could have asked for a mattress topper

I mentioned this to the waitress and she sorted it by rummaging around and finding a vegan menu. I was not sure how the chef would react to being asked to prepare something off the nights menu (and possibly from a menu he'd never seen before!)

but why was I told someone would come and look at the issue if they already knew that this was the problem, I suggested that perhaps they should update their guests to keep them in the loop as to not being left sitting wondering why our request to have someone look at it was being ignored.

We asked them to show us where we should have amended the booking and, as they admitted it wasn't very apparent, they agreed to add another breakfast at £9.

We had sirloin steaks and asked for medium rare

I forgot my toothbrush and asked reception if they had any as most of the bigger hotels will offer these things on a complimentary basis.. not at the Kjngsmills ..

Complained straight away, basically told  tough you should have requested a balcony.

We sat with dirty plates etc in front of us for a long time, nobody asked if we’d like more drinks, we asked for the bill then had to ask again to pay by card when nobody returned to take our bill.

We arrived for two nights with friends and our rooms were very different.Ours was looking out onto a roof with noisy fans from the kitchen.one light worked other burned out.Furniture worn and shabby.staff were fantastic breakfast was great.Only 3 hangers asked for more which we got.Ordered a cocktail for £10 when it arrived it was in a small proceccco glass with only proceccco no sliced strawberries or other garnish so £10 for a tiny glass of prosecco?

Downsides were rooms not being cleaned unless asked to be done, and paper cups, wooden stirers in the room, more Premier Inn than 4 star.

We asked for some wine glasses and some ice for our room and they insisted on bring the glasses along with an ice bucket.

What's more, you cannot use the changing facilities, so you have to request a robe from reception and wear that to and from the leisure club - which if you happen to need to use the staircase next to reception to get to and from these areas is not great.

My husband said he had asked this to be added to his room bill

Requesting more towels / tea was not an issue.

Breakfast is the equivalent of old fruit dumped in a bowl and disgusting eggs.

These rooms are pet friendly and, having taken our boy here previously,  please do not worry about pet smells.

Sadly there was a smell from the shower drain especially overnight which on inspection was filthy!

A wedding reception party had guests waiting for taxis all through the night to 2am and they stood directly outside the hotel (and my room) smoking and making a lot of noise.

although having to keep you mask on during it was quite uncomfortable.

butts from the Saturday when we arrived till Monday when we left these were not emptied.

The rule in the hotel is stand up mask up sit down mask down.

The carpet was not vacuumed, the bathroom was dirty/ mouldy ( see photos and video), the room had not been cleaned properly eg the desk char was dirty and hair init from previous occupant.

Tiny supermarket croissants with nasty little cartons of sliver thread marmalade.

The floor down the side of the bunk beds was filthy, and super dusty under the bedside tables.

We found parking at the back of the hotel where the staff were having their cigarette break and we had to walk past their smog on our way in.

This time we were in an older room that had a ‘smell’ to it, the tile was cracked in the bathroom and we had no WiFi in our room, had to go to the lobby for a signal.

The room on the ground floor was dark and smelled really bad.

There was a nasty smell in our bedroom, to be honest smelt like a chip pan.

I did see a bit of mold on the shower grout,

When I went back to the room and payed more attention to it the bathroom was actually horrendously filthy.

No free water and nasty coffee in the room.

Upon check-in, the bathroom had a vile smell which persisted for several hours, a mixture of vinegar and something even less pleasing.

It was an easy fifteen minute walk into the heart of Inverness.

It was fantastic, from the moment you walk in you start to relax, our therapists were Nora and Chloe.

We stayed in Garden Retreat room.So peaceful and quiet with the main hotel only a minute's walk away.The room was spacious,spotlessly clean with large bed and comfortable sofa and modern bathroom.

but able to be done if you choose to walk.

Impressed with this, big modern walk in shower, good amenities in the bathroom and bedroom,

Staff pleasant, my husbands meal being fish and chips was disappointing

So you would need to drive into town or be willing to walk to and from restaurants and shopping.

Location- The hotel is located just outside the city centre and its around a 20 -25 minute walk to the town centre & Inverness Castle.

Walked into Inverness - 15 mins safe, relatively flat walk.

The bed was huge and very comfortable and the walk in shower had excellent water pressure
We didn’t eat dinner in the hotel

We have total confidence in each visit knowing that from the moment you walk through the hotel entrance you experience nothing

From the moment we walked through the door of the hotel we were greeted by smiling endearing staff, who made us so at ease and welcome.

Nice garden area out the front to walk the dog.

Easy parking and not too far to walk all on one level.

although a bit pricey it was well worth it, with a wee walk to the room to follow.

The view overlooks the river Ness and there is a small car park at the side of the Hotel, spaces are limited and generally there's not a lot of parking in and around the Hotel.

20 on site spaces and extra spaces further down road i cathedral car park, which you have to pay for and have to wait for refund!!!!

The only negative I have is parking at the hotel can be a problem as they have a small car park, I do believe they have a parking area a short walk from the hotel.

On arrival the small car park (given the size of the hotel and spa) was rammed.

The car park is small & a bit hit or miss.

Just a couple of niggles; if the hotel car park is full I think the nearby parking should be complimentary as there is no charge for the on site parking and there limited spaces.

If you take a car, beware the hotel car park is not large and can get full very easily.

Parking is an issue as they only have a small car park and rely on a 'valet' system where cars are parked off site.

but there is a public car park a shot walk away.

there is something like 20 spots and then you have to park on the street or pay for someone to park it in a car park blocks away (so if you read their websites amenities list and see free parking, take it with a grain of salt and dont expect to get a spot).

what I did not expect on arrival was that the room was in another building on the other side of the car park.

However you can get a permit and park in the Cathedral car park so no problem.

but this is just as well as the car park is full of builders vans and skips.

We arrived in the evening, there was no space in the car park, so used the valet parking service which was really useful.

The car park is tiny so having them take care of finding a place to park for you was amazing.

It's the equivalent to someone slamming a door with force.

When opening the toilet door you’d be only able to open it halfway way as no space, and since the door was opening towards the only square of carpet not occupied by the bed, the other person in the room would be forced to sit on the bed.

It's noisy, doors slamming all night and people running up and down the stairs throughout the night.

The bed was uncomfortable, felt very old and i had to put a towel as a doorstop to block out the light coming through the enormous gap between floor & door.

Very poor sound-proofing between rooms and a lot of door banging to be heard.

After getting a refund from a horrible hotel next door to the Best Western l approached the lady at reception and explained the situation and eve

The space is still an issue getting out of the shower and there is no cloth hook on the door or on the wall.

The soundproofing of the rooms is terrible, you can hear everything next door and in the corridor.

Stayed one night I would not recommend for the money lets start with the positives 
It has friendly staff through out no complaints there 

However I would not recommend we stayed in a room that had the lock on the door looking like it had been broken by force assuming at some point they couldn’t enter the room and forced it open

upon making it to the front door of the hotel a member of staff completely walked past us and could see we where trying to pull our luggage up the stairs which we found quite rude, we also had no assistance carrying our luggage to the third floor where our room was.

The bedroom doors were very loud and could hear them slamming early in the morning and late at night.

Hotel is fairly new (refurbished) even so the doors (to our bedroom) and  carpet on the 3rd floor looked old fashion.

I had no space to put my luggage, the tv was tiny and the light from the hallway was shining in through the cracks of the door.

but we are sad that the old revolving entrance doors have been replaced.

Also on check out staff denied fire alarm went off (twice) at 4.20am saying 'must have been the cottage next door' when all guests had been out of their rooms wondering what to do and no-one in reception.

Then there was the noise early Sunday morning from rude American tourists and squeeky loud doors.

You may have to go inside that side door to get one.

In terms of decor it is what you expect from a chain hotel of this level.

Pleasantly surprised by how nice this hotel was!

The hotel was perfect and in a great location.

We were booked at this hotel through a travel agent and thoroughly enjoyed our two nights there.

Pinky and I stayed at ‘The Best Western Palace and Spa Hotel’ in Inverness- superb location and great hospitality.

Overall our stay was lovely, the facilities & the fact you can use them at your leisure was a big factor in choosing the hotel in the first place.

Me and my boyfriend booked this hotel through Woucher.

Every part of the hotel is spotlessly clean.

Good comfortable hotel with a very efficient , hard working team all focused on providing a good experience for guests.

We stayed as a couple for 2 nights in a River View room, which is situated at the front of the Hotel.

The hotel is comfy, clean and efficiently staffed.

But all in all it was ok, and we could still reccommend this hotel for longer staying time.

Very poor customer service and lost custom by not having a Receptionist

My only complaint is that at £112 (room only - no breakfast) my very tiny room is really quite poor value for money given what else is available in the immediate area.

In my opinion micro frozen food.. poor quality and prep for cost.

The main reason for such a bad rating is the poor response from management at the hotel and Best Western.

It was large, mostly empty space with a poor, stingy selection of teas and coffees and next to no storage space for clothes.

Downside, from a management perspective, some poor systems in place and poor communication which makes the customer experience suffer.

Jay on reception was superb and sorted out our concern regarding 2 very poor breakfasts.

We e-mailed the hotel after to complain about the poor vegan option and general poor service, and a week later were told that they HAD used vegan spread!

Wi-fi very poor so Netflix, iplayer and Amazon all experiencing lag, 4g signal also poor in rear part of hotel behind spa (Room 211).

For the price and the reputation the level of service was poor.

The only negative was the receptionist on arrival was poor service ie rooms nor ready off you go no suggestions no information not what you would expected from such a nice hotel

The only down sides were the high speed Internet which we were told the rooms had was extremely poor, we ended up just switching off the WiFi.

The Breakfast is poor, eggs overcooked, no fresh fruit salad refill, coffee really horrible from a machine, that for £15.- Employees there not really friendly.

Speed poor, upload speed barely there, ended up using a tethered 4g connection instead.

Great location, very helpful and professional staff, spacious and clean room, king sized and comfortable bed, beautiful views, delicious food.

We had a lovely evening meal in the hotel on our first night and the breakfast staff were amazing - very friendly.

The dinner we had was tasteless and not cooked well.

Food was OK.  
Breakfast was good and the staff (Marlene) were so friendly and kind.

the restaurant is a good surprise and the staff is great

Good selection of sandwiches and wraps, tasty fillings and lovely bread.

So while the dinner and breakfast menus were extensive, the sittings were staggered to accommodate the large number of guests !!

Lunch consisted of sandwiches and very salty soup.

Within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and places of historical interest.

The food is very good and the staff are very polite and helpful at all times.

You can walk straight into the town centre, perfect for shopping, food or a night out.

There are plenty of places to eat out if you want, and

The staff working during breakfast time and in the bar in the evening was extremely nice and the food we had for dinner was delicious (as was breakfast).Mind you that when booking online you are asked to leave a note if you want breakfast.

but due to coach trips was told we could only eat in bar area easily alleviated by not accepting the booking but was rectified by the positive reaction by the Brasserie Manager  but that is not a dampener we both had a terrific stay with you
