In addition to no electricity to charge my laptop or phone, no aircon, and no wifi, this meant there was no water in my room.

Of course they couldn't care less and still charged us.

However when we showed up 2 days later the owner (Slimane) was very understanding and we stayed that night at now further charge.

however, was to be aided in our troubles with bank cards and almost running out of Dirhams as far from any big city as you could get.

The atmosphere is going to make you feel like living in an Arabic fairy tail!

The decor and layout of the riad is beautiful - truly an oasis within Zagora.

Brahim and Saida were so warm and welcoming also very professional, the food was delicious the ambiance was exactly what i needed.

The hotel is well maintained and elegantly decorated.

The Riad is surrounded by palm gardens which adds to the ambiance.

A true boutique hotel: good decoration, local and yet modern.

The food is excellent (largest spread of breakfast) and the room is excellent and decorated tastefully.

Exhausted, we each went to our designated rooms which were decorated as beautiful, charming and cozy bedrooms.

Dinner by the pool was delicious and relaxing, the hotel staff was extremely attentive and kind, our room was cozy and very nicely decorated.

The table was set up specially in the beautiful garden with candles & rose petals scattered on the table, Laurent-Perrier champagne on ice - wonderful romantic ambiance.

Ibrahim and the other staff hosted us very friendly and heartily in a dreamy atmosphere.

Behind the doors you enter Paradise , the manager Ibrahim really knows what hospitality means !

We had no idea what to expect before we arrived and were totally blown away from the moment we stepped foot in the door.

The only problem we found is that in our room bathroom was not separated from rest of the room by proper door

From the moment you pass through the front door, you are almost overwhelmed by the beauty, peace and tranquility of this Riad.

although the Baby bed was no longer fully functional (one end sagged down) and we don't understand why such a nice place does not have doors between bed room and toilet area, just curtains.

We booked a triple room that we did not like, because it was small for a triple room and is dark with both door and window facing the courtyard where they serve drinks.

Located just adjacent to the Zagora palmerie, the riad offers a beautiful pool, a huge garden with grass and shade and 11  very comfortable rooms.

Great Location, in this hot month makes much more better!

The hotel is located in a quite part of town.

The evening meals are super and the breakfast was the best, so much choice and all so fresh, set's you up for the day in a stunning location.

The hotel is small and located on a quiet street outside of Zagora.

The Riad can be found in a quiet location on the south side of Zagora in the Palmeria.

They were very nice about letting us hang out at the pool and use a shower while we waited for our ride to the desert.

What a place, beautiful garden, pool, fountain full of birds.

The house, the rooms, the garden with the pool, the dining-terrace next to the pool in the evening, all is decorated with loving care so that we enjoyed our stay really much and regretted not being able to stay longer than one night.

The pool area is extremely clean as are all the grounds.

Nice and clean rooms, perfect sanitary facilities (important in the desert) and a very tasty kitchen!

We were given a tour of the Riad and walked to our room.

The patio outside our room was a delightful place to relax beside the fountain.

On top of that, the staff is very friendly, flexible and professional.

The staff could not have been more professional and kinder, including Ibrahim who ran the front desk snd Sayeda who served and I believe cooked our meal.

We also met the owner and he was also very friendly.

The staff are so warm and welcoming - and always willing to help.

The hotel, particularly in the cold of January, is two-star.

This is a cold, heartless bunker and nothing than scam, dont waste your money.

The water comes from a well below the hotel, and every now and then the shower turns from hot to cold with no prior warning, and then back again - eliciting many shrieks from my son - who stays in the shower for ever .

The bathroom was bitterly cold, it had an overbath shower which was inadequate, no shower curtain.

Dinner was great and the room was very nice.

Patrick - the hotel astronomer- was still there to show us the planets, galaxies and stars after dinner until 2hs in the morning.

I enjoyed especially stargazing after dinner with a professional and lively presentation of the galaxies, stars and nebulaes by our friend Patrick, a belgian astronomer speaking 5 languages !

Dinner was decent each evening, if repetitive.

Spacious room, good simple Berber food and the best Moroccan wine we had during our trip, made our stay very special.

Great food, good wine, and friendly atmosphere and only regret we had such a short stay.

The owner and amateur  astronomer Fritz and Patrick, a fully employed professionnel astronomer 
showed us the black Saharan sky and its stars and galaxies after dinner til midnight.

The dinner is also well filled, every day different meal, good variety of wines and sodas/mineral water for the non drinkers.

The bar was licensed and offered fresh beer and Moroccan wines.

The people were very nice and the food was very good.

Every evening we looking forward to a great dinner and the very friendly service.

As we Brits always do, we had told Khadija the previous evening that the meal was delicious.

It was a great experience for 2 nights because of the meteor shower.

The evening dinner is usually a typical Marrocan food and it is DELICIOUS (even if I am a light eater).

We took the rooms with the best view over the Dunes of Tinfou.

Service was excellent day and night.

The Hotel itself provide very spacious rooms, hot running water, a good dining experience and a bar (with pool table).

But you're here for the roof and not for the rooms, in the end - and it's the roof that lifted this review from 3 to 4 stars.

but the rooms and the rest would never draw you to the hotel.

We had booked comfort rooms which are spacious and with views over the sand-dunes of Tinfou.

The hotel in general is very good, spacious rooms and private bath/shower is just enough for a casual visitor.

We were surprised to find in SaharaSky every comfort we could think of: Large rooms with terraces overlooking the dunes of Tinfou.

We stayed in clean and spacious rooms air conditioned and equipped with flat screen TVs、which we hardly expected in the desert.

A combination of genuine hospitality, comfortable rooms with good beds, stunning views and well equipped bathroom.

One photograph in our room actually turned out to be a calendar from the 1990's!

Helmut, the hotel manager, made us very welcome and staff settled us into 2 comfortable rooms with terrific bathrooms and a balcony with views across the dramatically bleak landscape.

It was a great experience and because I shared a room with 2 other backpackers it wasn't to expensive (about 35 euro's a night p.p.

All the arrangements for the room and the sauna and dinner/breakfast was in order.

The room had a terrace which gave a wonderful view,

Spacious bedroom and living room leadng out to a terrace with great views of the Tinfou Dunes very close to the hotel.

He has a drink in his hand and seems drunker than he did when he greeted us.

The staff was very accomodating and Fritz the owner was extremely welcoming and hospitable, introducing me to his Touareg friend who we played pool with after dinner.

Fritz, the owner and Patrick, the hotel astronomer welcomed us like old friends.

Every night of our trip I was up on the roof with the enthusiastic Patrick the Astronomer, whose boundless wonder and enthusiasm for what we were seeing was beyond infectious.

We had  an excellent reception by Patrick  the professional astronomer on site.

but unexpected comfort with a friendly staff and owner.

Met the proprietors Fritz and Rabeaa who were lovely and really accommodating when we wanted to stay an extra day/night on the way back.

It is a hobby to most of the guys, and they know their stuff.

The resident astronomer is enthusiastic, and brilliant and helping people, whatever their level of experience, see the stars.

The house astronomer sets up three telescopes at night, including one trained on Jupiter so that you can see the Galilean moons change position over the course of a couple of hours.

Patrick the resident astronomer is so passionate and knowledgeable it is hard not to enjoy stargazing with him and his very energetic ginger cat, it was love at first site with the cat and the sky at night in this wonderful part of Morocco.

Wonderful experience made even more enjoyable and stimulating through sessions with the monumentally enthusiastic and patient Patrick on on a clear moonless night (the best for star in gazing) , and the wide ranging discussions from cosmology to Moroccan Culture with the hotel xowner, Fritz Korning.

The German owner invited us to Moroccan wine of its best.

The astronomer is very knowledgeable, dedicated, and helpful.

The staff was kind enough to tell us, that it doesn't make that much sense.

Let me start by saying, this hotel/Observatory is the best if your are looking to stargaze and use professionally telescopes.

The on staff astronomer Patrick really seems to enjoy his job and exlaining astronomy to people.

But above all the owner astronomer acquired the latest automatic telescope Meade LX850 with auto centering and tracking.

Corteous, friendly, wonderful and helpful in all ways.

Really enjoyed my stay here and am so glad to have had the chance to learn about the stars in such an amazing location!

If I could split the difference and give this 3 1/2 stars I would.

We also noticed that free star gazing was included

We couldn't attend the star watching at night, since it was full moon.

I will go back and stay at this hotel and spend the night gazing at stars again.

The astronomy there is excellent and you can spend the entire night on the roof looking out at the stars.

Joining the stars with friends who love to do this too and feeling like beeing in family.

but now I have had a great taste of thousands of stars, a comet, the rings of saturn and its moons - from astronomers of many nationalities.

The first impression when I got off the bus, I really fell on my "behind" so much there were stars in the sky!!!

For all who like the stars, the desert and a relaxed/friendly atmosphere it is a really nice place.

Now the Astronomy - assuming no sandstorms, the 'seeing' is seriously good, pretty much as soon as a star comes up, it is visible.

After dinner of typical berber food Fritz Koring, the owner, showed us the stars in the black
Saharan Sky.

but were sadly disappointed to have missed out on the nights star gazing talks as the German hotel owner was nowhere to be seen even with the biggest telescope on the hotel roof terrace. Nevertheless it was a pleasant stay, very peaceful and incredibly quiet with spectacular sunrises and sunsets :)

At night the German hotel owner explained about stars and galaxies on the roof terrace and let us have a look through the spectacular telescope - unfortunately we were close to full moon, which made the star watching difficult.

I had the unfortunate experience of staying here in May 2019.

though I would highly recommend this experience.

Especially stargazing at the SaharaSky Kasbah Hotel was again a unique experience.

Already the road from Marrakech over the Atlas mountains and through the Draa Valley  is a unique experience !

I cannot recommend this experience enough.

I re-visited Morocco with my astronomer friend and had another unique experience at the SaharaSky hotel and observatory.

Really a unique experience,

Sure we will be back one day and enjoy this unique stargazing hotel in the Sahara desert.

The sky observation was a great experience for us and Jürgen gave us a good insight in to the secrets of the outer space.

We had a crew of German bikers who had just done over 1,000 miles off road, and were only too willing to share their experiences with us.

You really know how to show true Moroccan hospitality.

The best experience were the 'lectures' by the German owner on the roof of the hotel on the planets, the stars and the milky way.

but the surroundings make this an unforgettable experience.

He takes you to a whole trip of knowledge, imerging in the secrets of the universe.

The stay at SaharaSky was undoubtedly the high-light of our trip. wwW

We made a 3-day trip in to the desert from there.

The trips we did from this location were well organized by Fritz Koring.

The Sahara Sky was among our most enjoyable stops on a 2-week trip.
