In addition to no electricity to charge my laptop or phone, no aircon, and no wifi, this meant there was no water in my room.

Of course they couldn't care less and still charged us.

However when we showed up 2 days later the owner (Slimane) was very understanding and we stayed that night at now further charge.

however, was to be aided in our troubles with bank cards and almost running out of Dirhams as far from any big city as you could get.

Behind the doors you enter Paradise , the manager Ibrahim really knows what hospitality means !

We had no idea what to expect before we arrived and were totally blown away from the moment we stepped foot in the door.

The only problem we found is that in our room bathroom was not separated from rest of the room by proper door

From the moment you pass through the front door, you are almost overwhelmed by the beauty, peace and tranquility of this Riad.

although the Baby bed was no longer fully functional (one end sagged down) and we don't understand why such a nice place does not have doors between bed room and toilet area, just curtains.

We booked a triple room that we did not like, because it was small for a triple room and is dark with both door and window facing the courtyard where they serve drinks.

Located just adjacent to the Zagora palmerie, the riad offers a beautiful pool, a huge garden with grass and shade and 11  very comfortable rooms.

This place hits all the high marks: a spotlessly clean room with a comfortable bed topped with duvet style, high thread count bed linen, shower with even water temperature and pressure (but usual slow draining), excellent staff, a treasure trove of antique decor items tucked into architecturally ornate lounging, drinking and dining areas, best wifi on our trip so far and finally, a large and tasty breakfast.

The rooms are very clean and warm and make sure to eat one night in the Riad, to eat the wonderful tagine with figs.

We spent a lovely time at Ma Villa, The tastefully decorated riad , displaying a mix of modern art and authentic Moroccan furnishings, with its terraces and garden is just beautiful and cozy.

The rooms are cozy (the heating worked very well), and the indoor common spaces are charmingly decorated.

We had an intimate evening with other guests in a small side room and we all ended up becoming fast friends for the night over a lingering supper.

Ma Villa au Sahara in Zagora offers a unique style of accommodation that can be likened to staying in a desert villa with a touch of Gallic influence.

We loved all the artwork, furniture and little interesting touches.

The garden and rooms at the villa are filled with a lovely pool, plants, art and books.

The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming.

The whole staff is very welcoming and the room was very clean and comfortable with hot shower and wifi, the traditional building architecture makes for a very healthy stay as well.

The Villa Zagora felt immediately like home: the modern twist to a traditional architecture and the use of local building techniques, makes for a very cosy feeling.

There is a nicely decorated, comfortable sitting room just off the patio.

In fact, reality is far more beautiful than any photos on their website.

Images of places had merged and my photo’s had faded or become lost in moves.

Additionally, a pleasant change to be able to have a bottle of wine with your meal.

We agreed to have dinner at the hotel and it was, by far the best meal we've ever had in Morocco!

You can exchange on their culture the food and the places around.

The food and hospitality were amazing and the children loved the swimmingpool and their tent on the roof!

Having said that the welcome and atmosphere is perfect and it is only ten dirhams to go by taxi into town where there are shops and restaurants.

We were given delicious Moroccan coconut and anisette cookies with mint tea upon entering and filled out our paperwork by a warming stove. Dinner that night was casual and very French (thank you for the wine!)

Thanks to the guide we saw old remaining's of Kasbahs, villages along river Draa  and we even visited the Sahara desert, having lunch in a Nomad tent.

Kind, helpful, informative and always considerate, he should teach a class in hotel hospitality.

The option of sleeping under the stars on the roof gave me the memorable experience of falling into slumber to the distant, soft, mesmeric music from a nearby Berber wedding which went on into the night.

I would recommend Villa Zagora to anyone looking for an authentic Moroccan experience with all the comforts of the finest accommodations anywhere in the world! !

And then the most important aspect to us, is the people, in this area too Michèle is spot on: we where warmly taken care of by Moha, who took us for a very nice two hour walk in the palmeraie that he knows like the back of his hand, telling us all sorts of anecdotes and cultural information on the life there.

We had a delicious dinner on the patio, prepared expertly by the kitchen staff whose beautiful singing enriched the experience.

Before we arrived we arranged a dessert trek to Erg Chicaga with Michele and it was a great experience.

We were greeted by Mohamed who wore a huge smile the whole time we were there, he couldn't do enough for us, Moha took us on a fantastic walk through the groves which were stunning, the dates were just dripping off the palms and the light amazing, Michelle too was charming, thank you all so much, your hospitality was superb, i will definitely be recommending this place.

Dinner was equivalent to or better than what we experienced at Al Fassia in Marrakech the previous night, and that's saying something.

A wonderful spot with great food and hospitality.

The rooms in this small hotel are standalone units, each with a name.

It was in the high 40s and low 50s - it was uncomfortable in the pool and in the room where the AC was not strong enough.

This location is a little run down, e.g., I needed to fix the shower head with duct tape.

Contrary on the experience of  Barry M ( see other recent review) our air conditioner was working

I couldn't sleep all night in the oppressive heat with a broken air conditioner.

The heater was not working in our friends' room and the room was frigid.

The bad: the a/c in our room was really ineffective, the rooms look like a dungeon (very dark and have lots of exposed stone and weird doors) not exactly what I am looking for in my hotel on a vacation.

Breakfast was so-so and served in the open area part of the restaurant which was uncomfortably cold at this time of year.

but as one of the first people awake at the hotel, I was unable to tolerate the cold water.

Unfortunately we did not get to try the pools as it was too cold.

In the morning, breakfast (self service) was cold (everything is left on a table) and we had to ask several time that they bring plates and cups and refill the thermos of tea and coffee.

WIFI was also good from rooms closer to dining room.

Small pool, lots of cozy sitting areas, nice bar area-alcohol served, comfortable outdoor dining room and good food.

The food was very good and the dining room was covered in carpets and textiles, very exotic.

The tented dining room has lots of character with embroidered ceiling.

but still a little too cold for us visiting in March.

After travelling through chaotic Fez, then a cold bus journey to the desert then another stress trip La Petite Kasbah came as such a relief.

but if you want customers to your traditional style guest house in cold weather you need to be a bit more geared up.

The rooms were clean, comfortable and air conditioned, and the pool and the upstairs patio and dinners made the experience all the more enjoyable!

My family and I stayed here just one night on our way to the desert, and we were touched by the hospitality shown to us and the overall charm of this place.

We were visiting as a family, and were very happy with staying in the kasbah.

Originally his family home, he converted it into a boutique guest house in 2009.

Together with the renewed interiour and reconstruction of his family inheritage the owner made this place as a real Oase!

Brahim, Ali, Jamila and team went out of their way to make feel us at home in what had been Brahim's family home.

My family and I stayed here before venturing into the desert for camel and tents.

Not only did we stay in a lovely kasbah we also were taken to see a Mustapha's beautiful family house and sliver making in the local area.

I was treat like family, by the whole staff.

Stayed at La Petite Kasbah for 4 nights, and i must say that we were treated like members of the family.

Brahim and his family are creating something with heart and soul and should be proud about it.

Our group of 8 spent one night with brahim and his family at their Kasbar.

We spent the evening in the indoor dining area with fireplace (temperatures fell to 0 at night) and some of the staff performed local music.

I felt like home there..tasty food and live music every evening.

At night there were some musicians playing in the common area which was very enjoyable to listen to local music.

Breakfast was wealthy and healthy (and marvellous), with ethnic music.

The six rooms are clean and tidy; nothing fancy

Rooms are very clean and in typical mud walls, the "living room" is perfect for a tea and meeting other travelers.
