My only complaint is that there seems to be no heating in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast.

Adjusting the thermostat does nothing (ie.

1) the water for the bath/shower was brown, 2) the water temperature at it hottest was only tepid and the heating did not go above 21c

What eventually arrived was a a slimy, half raw egg pancake, minus the cheese & tomato which was inedible ( bear in mind this is an International 5 star hotel).

Dirty rooms (pee spots on the toilet seat of the room I checked into), Internet only works in the lobby and terrible room service.

We also checked the hotel website during the previous week and after our check-in at the hotel and again there was no mention of the closure of the Executive Lounge.

The only thing that put me off was seeing the same room service tray the evening of my arrival and the following morning that should have been removed.

Also the food, super yummy, the price is good!

The breakfast is amazing with many choices and chance to try many different tastes.

The breakfast is on the basement floor and I did love their coffee and omelette!

The best thing about the hotel was breakfast and the nice outlook of the lake.

Met my family here over Labor Day break.It is an unexpectedly nice hotel,comparable looks&comfort-wise to places I have stayed in Xuzhou.beautiful lobbywell-apointed rooms,great breakfast options in the morning.the hotel's location is only few steps to the lake.walking distance to the town hall&great stadium.

but no comparison to the private Lounge experience.

The servant Cuiwen Wang (王翠文) came into my room and helped me to close and lock the door in balcony.. she is super nice person, kindly directed me how to write the review.. thank her very much.

The staff was super friendly and had smiles on their faces always.

Staff are helpful, respectfull and attentive.

The staff, including those at the breakfast buffet, is very attentive of your preferences and need.

Staff at lobby are professional and friendly, as also the GM of the hotel.

A special thank you goes to Jean in the Bellevue restaurant who really went out of her way to make our stay extra special and to Amanda at the front desk who gave us some great suggestions on what to do and see in the city.

Nice staff good location, the buffet breakfast was really good and in a nice settings.

All request (non down bedding & adjoining rooms)were met with ease and pleasant courtesy by your staff.

Hot water was plentiful when you take a shower.

The AC in the room was worthless it was at 29 degrees all night the bed was hard and the shower had little pressure.

I opened the window on 12th floor and there was no flow of air coming into the room as there is no air flow without cross ventilation.

The windows are very effective at blocking noise.

Good breakfast, a lot of menu (western food is available), fast check in.

The room was spacious with a big bed and was spotless 

Restaurant - The breakfast buffet was good with a variety of choices, one night we also had the evening buffet which was plentiful with a good variety and included beer and soft drinks.

Fantastic breakfast selection, including local cuisine and western options including omelettes.

however omelette was ok.

Room itself is well appointed and spacious, stayed in much worse and paid a lot more all in all it was fine for a short stay and walking distance to the train station

Breakfast also served at the Poya was also perfect with buffet style to suit most people and great coffee.

The hotel restaurant was very good - met with cautious approval by our hosts (which was high praise) - the breakfast was extensive and of good quality and the room and bed very good.

Rooms are large and well appointed, breakfast good and the staff friendly and eager to please.

Watch out for taxis with no display of fare since they may charge whatever they feel.

The hotel had the same feel to it as the Double Tree Hilton brand

Lovely staff, clean rooms, good location, you could call this place a home when you are thousand miles away from your own home.

The draw back however is location to city centre and is approximately 1 hour away by taxi

The wifi was free and the hotel is very well located as it is right next to the high speed train station between Shanghai and Beijing.

I moved to the Crown Plaza in Xuzhou at slightly higher rate and they had COLD A.C.  .lovely

Price for a buffet style meal in the evening is 138RMB and there is a room service menu, advertised as operating for 24 hours a day.

Just a couple of minutes by walking from the highspeed train station and very close to the highway this hotel offered all I need as a business traveller.

Yes the only positive thing about this hotel is that it’s close to the train station

but city center is lively at night, and the concert hall is of great modern arquitecture.

however there's a busy road, and the windows are not well insulated.

Breakfast is disgusting there is not decent food.

but just the fact that l took a non-smoking room, and there is an ashtray on the table, it just changes the perception immediately, TV is Chinese which is fine in the end, if you are not there to sit back and watch something, the balcony is ok and there is some panorama in the distance.

but the 'no smoking' in eating and enclosed areas is not a priority so we couldn't wait to get out of there.

Despite the reported smoking ban indoors in China people smoked everywhere, of course, from the breakfast room, to reception, to in the corridors.

The fitness room has a stinky carpet on the floor, not a gym floor, not so good.

All other staff were fantastic especially the guys at the main door, they went out of their way to please.

People at the lobby were nice and helpful.

though reception staff and rest of staff were nice.

We had a group of 13 come to the lobby to check in, and with no other guests there, and 4 staff on-hand, it took them 30 minutes to sort everything out.

My only observation that systems and staff training need to be improved.

45 waiting time to have a room because the Staff was insisting in giving a smoking room.

but the air-con didn't work and I had to use the window to cool my room down.

The aircon was useless, never below 27C in the room even with open window, and open door as privacy permitted, uncomfortable to sleep.

The aircon never worked despite complaints.

The air conditioning still doesn’t work, the windows have not been cleaned and the minibars in the rooms have been destocked.

Still have decoration smell, suggest to permanently turn on the ventilation fan in washroom.

The breakfast buffet was huge,  yummy, and the atmosphere was very relaxing.

The buffet was approximately 130RMB and the a la carte approximately 70RMB for a main meal.

Huge restaurant and breakfast selection, so many choices and not enough time or stomach to try everything.

Breakfast was excellent many options, both Chinese and western choices.

Room is spacious and bed was comfortable, breakfast buffet has great collection, tasty, and clean.

The breakfast buffet is gigantic- everything u could possibly want & delicious.

One night we had their buffet dinner and noticed at breakfast the next morning that some of the dishes were dinner leftovers.

The room was good and if all you want is a room and a bed great.

The rooms are large and quiet and the bed and pillows are great.

There was a huge bathtub in my room and more light switches than I knew what to do with.

The room was very comfortable and perfectly maintained with a turn down service at around 5pm each day.

Friendly welcome, nice and clean rooms with good bathroom.

This is a very well built and managed hotel situated in beautiful location, room was nice and clean and overall service was great.

This is a relatively new hotel in Xuzhou and the rooms were very nice - clean and all amenities at hand.

The hotel is grand and the rooms are modern and tidy.

However that being said, we would still return to Grand Barony as the actual room and hotel itself were impeccable.

If you have the misfortune to stay here, one tip is that you will find the next-door property has a keg of beer at the reception and they will pour you a 10L mini-keg.

The staff were excellent at all times and the concierge went out of his way to ensure our stay was pleasant.

Restaurant was good and the staff there were very attentive.

Reception desk people were friendly and helpful.

The staff of this hotel is simply great!!

Getting a taxi from the hotel is best done by booking one at the hotel front desk with a short amount of notice.

The one positive thing was that the windows appeared to have been washed during the previous year.

although there are the  odd things like incredibly dirty windows.

Sadly the windows are so dirty that views are quite difficult to enjoy.

The rooms are clean comfortable and  spacious just beware when we checked in we were placed in a room where the window was shattered so better check and open your curtains once you get to the room.

Or, u can pull down some blinds & have yr privacy.

but given there is little to see close the blinds.
