Free parking at the back of the hotel, clean, spacious room, friendly staff who couldn’t do enough for you, fantastic cooked breakfast and Blenheim Palace 5 minutes walk away, thoroughly recommend.

Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and delicious.

The breakfasts were faultless with plenty of everything and our party were put in the round table by the window .

Staff couldn't have been more helpful, particularly the staff who served us breakfast.

Walking distance to Blenheim Palace, gorgeous cream tea & breakfast, right in the middle of town with parking.

Breakfast was included and was also excellent.

The staff were exceptionally warm and professional and we didn't want to leave as the puppy was treated like a King, even getting his own little cooked breakfast.

Food was delicious executed brilliantly, table service both during the wedding breakfast and the next day breakfast smiley, efficient and personable.

If you are planning to visit Oxford use the bus service; there is a bus stop immediately in front of the hotel.

There is a bus stop right outside the hotel and a bus idled for some time at 6am on Saturday morning!!

Although convenient the position is noisey as it fronts an A road and has a bus stop outside.

The hotel is on a main A road and after the buses stop- there are lorries rumbling through all night.

The Marlborough Arms has a bus stop right outside the front door which service goes directly to Oxford.

Location is great for Blenheim palace and for an easy day trip to Oxford (bus stop is outside if you'd rather not park up in the city).

The Marlborough is c500 yards walk to the main entrance of Blenheim Palace, c20 metres from a bus stop where you can catch a bus to Oxford about every 15 minutes for £5 return and, as stated about, no more than 500 metres from a choice of some really decent restaurants and bars.

The location is excellent, within walking distance of Blenheim Palace and right outside the hotel is a bus stop with a frequent service to Oxford if you choose not to drive.

Reception staff so helpful, on site parking, bus stop outside front door for easy access to Oxford, excellent breakfast.

Would be a decent option for visiting Oxford - the bus stops right outside.

The hotel's proximity to Blenheim means it is easily walkable and with a bus stop right outside the access in to Oxford is so easy.

Bus stop outside front of B&B with regular pick ups to take you into central Oxford.

We caught the bus to Oxford from a bus stop right outside.

Plus the bus stop is right outside, so our trip to Oxford via the bus was made that much easier.

There's a bus stop outside if you wish to visit Oxford.

We got the bus into Oxford on the Sunday (the bus stop is right outside) & they let us leave our car

We had 2 nights here on a secret escapes deal which included cream tea and a glass of Prosecco.

Enjoyed a lovely cream tea & Prosecco on arrival as booked via Secret Escapes.

We had a very nice cream tea on arrival and found the staff very welcoming and helpful.

We stayed for 2 nights (Fri & Sat) through a Secret Escapes deal that included cream tea and glass of prosecco.

but we could have the prosecco should we wish, which we greatfully accepted,as it was a freezing night with snow outside we decided to have a drink in the bar area,and we were given a complimentary drink as we had missed our cream tea.

I couldn't recommend this place enough, we had a wonderful stay, beautiful room, cream tea & an amazing breakfast with lots of choice.

We also enjoyed a cream tea during our stay which we booked through Groupon.

Guests loved the accommodation, the location, the facilities and the staff.

They had a large room in the original hotel and we had The Studio which is located between the hotel’s large car park and the rear entrance to the hotel.

but something to be aware of if you are used to a quiet location!!

Wonderful location for Blenheim, the Cotswolds and Oxford.

Central location, 10 mins walk to Blenheim Palace, parking on site and lots of places to eat nearby.

All I can say is "What a great hotel and brilloant location".

This is quite a characterful small hotel, located very centrally in Woodstock.

The hotel is in a perfect location for restaurants, cafes and for Blenheim Palace.

The staff, the food, the service, the room, the facilities, central position, on-site free parking were amongst the best in places we have stayed.

The location in middle of town was perfect for pubs etc and Blenheim.

The location was spot on for Blenheim Palace, Oxford and the Cotswolds.

The location is great & within walking distance of all the bars & restaurants in Woodstock.

The hotel is a great location to explore the area and the car park is a bonus in a town with limited parking.

Location ideal for exploring Woodstock, Blenheim Palace and Park and also Oxford.

The location suited us really well we as we were able to get to Oxford, Bicester Village and walk to Blenheim Palace.

We enjoyed our cream tea outside in the sunny little courtyard. The only drawbacks were thin walls (our neighbours had their TV blaring), creaky floorboards making for noisy upstairs guests (as you'd expect for a 15th century coaching inn!)

The decoration was  plain, cheap furniture and  pictures  on the wall and the flimsy  £9.99 toilet seat summed it all up.

Breakfast was served in a room whose walls were covered in prints and pictures.

Felt somewhat standard B and B in the twin room we were in, which needed tlc as it seemed not to have been updated for years - pine louvred doors on the wardrobe, carpet going grey around the edges, bluetak on the curtain rail to stop it sliding off, grout coming out of tiles, shower head blocked with limescale, old Yale lock on the tired door, cream walls looking grey.

This is in contrast to to the breakfast room which has walls crowded with prints, memorabilia and photographs of local interest.

Breakfast was served in a delightful dining area - the  history of the Marlborough family adorned the walls.

The heater on the wall was broken and the convection heating was not pleasant at all - got too hot and then as soon as switched off, cold again.

but if I turned one way my knees hit the wall and when I turned the other way I nearly fell out.

You would find it hard to see a spirit level bubble if you tested the floors and walls

There are sloping floors and walls and ancient oak beams,

It was extremely shabby with stains on walls etc.

but you do have to take into consideration the building is a 14th century coaching house so no level floors or walls , the bed was very comfy and warm , the radiator had a thermostat on but the room was plenty warm enough so we didn't need to alter it .

I had to make a wall of pillows in front of the window in order to stop freezing air coming inside.

The breakfast room is so light and spacious with picture covered walls, you want to dash away. .

Light bulbs not working and stains on the wall.

Considering the age of the hotel, with no straight walls or floors due to it's age, the owners have done well in providing normal hotel facilities.

Asked for two teas and served a cafetiere of coffee and pot of hot water.

but no milk, and it hadn’t been filled with water.

Tea, coffeee  a packet of biscuits and bottle of water supplied in the room and a small tv.

However the bottle of water in the room was not for use

There is a bottle of water in the room with a notice that if you want this water it is £5.

Being from a hard water area, I couldn't get over how soft the water was.

although suffered from no hot water in the showers.

though the water pressude on the rianfall shower wasn't quite there.

We would have appreciated bottled water, fresh milk and some homemade/bakery biscuits in the room as I'm sure these thoughtful additions would reflect more towards its aspirations as a luxury Bed and Breakfast accommodation rather than the number of pillows on the bed

There was not enough water pressure to do the large shower head justice.

Bottle of water in room,, quality toiletries, menu at breakfast with choices of cooked not just full English.

The bathroom had a shower in the bath and the water pressure was quite poor.

Breakfast was excellent 

Our one negative was the shower which, to be honest, was pretty pathetic with water that dribbled out very slowly.

though when I enquired at reception about water, I was given 2 bottles without question.

However,  for a "luxury"  bed and breakfast, I would definitely expect bottled water in the room and more than one measly small pack of biscuits for the both of us.

A previous point about no water in the room is a valid one, that wouldn't take much.

Had to stand in the bath for five minutes trying to get the water at the right temperature to shower.

As mentioned, I have stayed at the Luxury Hotels in Woodstock and they do offer that little extra such as Blenheim Palace bottled water in your room, Fluffy white towels, eggs benedict or eggs royal option for breakfast amongst other things.

We were really looking forward to testing out the gin bar

Comfy bed, spacious rooms, well stocked bar and the breakfast was 9/10.

We then decided to sample some of the Gins at their Gin bar and were not disappointed.

This is a lovely old hotel with a world record number of gins in the bar.

Gin bar is really lovely so much choice !

Slightly quirky with loads of features yet still modern with touches such as a 200 type gin bar.

The little bar area is cosy with a fire and pleasant music.

Amazing service, friendly staff, much better rooms and the restaurant and bar are on another level to The Feathers.

We had one of the huge range of gins on offer in the bar before going to a local restaurant in Woodstock.

From the moment you walk in The Feathers is full of character - the restaurant, bar and garden - plus lounge area are great.

The outside garden bar is nice and the hotel is located right in the centre of the village.

The gin bar was delicious and the food was perfect.

Liquer coffees followed in the bar where we spent more time chatting.

Gin bar is one of the highlights and again great service from the staff.

The little hidden gem of the establishment is the gin bar and its incredibly huge selection of gins and liquors.

The hotel has a nice bar, garden and selection of gin.

The bar impressively stocks over 300 types of gin, so it would have been nice to try something beyond Bombay sapphire/pink gin.

Went down for drinks, initially in the lovely courtyard then into the bar.

Incredibly friendly, attentive  service from every member of staff right from my first telephone call to book our two night stay with our dog, until the moment we left.Lovely spacious room and amazing food, dining once in the restaurant and once in the pretty courtyard where we also had breakfast.

Breakfast was also good with a lot of options.

Lovely choice of cooked breakfast and excellent scones for afternoon tea!

The pastry melted in your mouth the scones were just out of the oven and delicious and we loved all the sandwiches.

Ingredients were top quality and beautifully presented and served.

We booked a package that included dinner Bed and breakfast and really enjoyed the stay.

The ingredients and so fresh, excellent presentation and overall delicious.

We had a wonderful stay at the Feathers, food was excellent, breakfast one of the best, staff attentive and friendly, when going to visit Blenheim palace the feathers a good place to stay.

but ok. Breakfast menu was varied and the food plentiful and well cooked.

Plentiful choice at Breakfast and the full English was really good and very tasty.

We were on a dinner, bed and breakfast package and the food was superb.

Second day - the breakfast was much better.

Had the half board stay and the dinner and breakfast was fantastic.

Had a dog friendly room, and she very much enjoyed her stay, and being allowed into most places in the surrounding area.

We were 5 adults 2 dogs and a baby, in our party.

They brought a bowl of water with ice cubes in for Millie who as a well behaved dog was made very welcome.

In the end, he left the room and came back with an already opened pack of £2 dog treats with maybe 10% of the treats remaining and 1 dog poo bag and said "there is your treat box".

The hotel was amazing, gorgeous decor, amazing staff, friendly and welcoming and our dogs were treated  like the guests of honour!

He loves a cuddle and to woof at othe dogs coming through.

Having the dog with us, this was very convenient.

We stayed in the annexe part of the hotel with a separate entrance, which we found particularly helpful as we had our dog with us.

The staff were all very pleasant and even gave our dog a chew!

I could have done without barking dogs in the hotel,

Meg (dog) received 5 star treatment from Damiano the Barman and Antonio the waiter - with treats, water and dog toys! Food (and gin!)

We took our Cockapoo dog with us who was spoilt rotten and loved the doggy treats.

Staff were fabulous, very attentive, extremely efficient and dog friendly.

But family weekend - booked specifically to be dog friendly was ruined by staff failing to enforce dog friendliness

but mostly it was clean and although they accept dogs it did not smell 'doggie'.

but for the price, even the more luxurious ones don't seem to have that wow factor you get in some hotels.

Would rather have paid more for a decent sized meal.

but then had to pay for sides and service, so the dinner package should be marketed as an allowance that comes off your bill rather than a three course meal.

However I was a little disappointed in the room for the price.

Secondly, that I did not receive anything that I paid for.

It was expensive at £18 so just about value for money

Overall, we felt The Feathers wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t exceptional, especially for the price - which at the time of booking was at the more expensive end of options in the village.

There are so many places in Woodstock offering a full English at a fraction of the cost.

but instead they wanted us to pay again (we prepaid) but to add insult also insisted that we had eaten at the restaurant and drank wine ! .

This is the only reason I did not rate as excellent.

however I've also stayed at many (much older) 4* properties, for a fraction of the price, that were in a much better state.

I had to pay for very mediocre breakfast on top.

We then received an e-mail saying their pricing policy is that this option only provides for 2 guests and a further £50 was required.

but at some £170 per night room only - this is an expensive hotel charging premium prices so one should expect premium service.

but quite pricey as vegetables and potato dishes were charged extra and the cheapest bottle of wine was £22 for a bottle of basic Australian plonk.

Pipes make a constant noise all night as well.

This meant that we had to sleep with the windows wide open, and as the room overlooks the high street, when the traffic started (bin lorries, I think) at around 5.30, so we did not sleep well for the two nights.

With the window having to be open the traffic noise (from A44 at end of street) and late nighters going home made getting a good nights sleep impossible.

that was it then, not a chance of anymore sleep, due to the heavy noisy traffic, breakfast was a bit hit and miss, it stated fresh fruit,

Room 23 was very dark, very small, very noisy (faced outside road), and very difficult to get to - a very narrow spiral staircase with different height risers.

The room over looks the garden bar so it can be noisy at times.

but very noisy from the room Upstairs and outdoor traffic.

Far enough from the main road not to be disturbed by any traffic noise.

The other issue with this particular suite was noise, as it overlooked the hotel’s terrace/outdoor dining area and you could hear every word of conversation even with the windows shut.

although we could hear upstairs walking around it wasn’t an issue.

Quite a lot of noise disturbance from the kitchens which impacted our enjoyment

but as a firefighter this tells me no investigation took place - just a panicked stop the noise.

Room was really nice with large sleigh bed and sitting area
It was a disabled room as the shower room was adapted for that which was fine
However the bed was the worst i have ever stayed in , uncomfortable and creaked with the slightest movement.

You could hear behind the wall what was happening in the room next door.

but there was plenty of noise from nearby pubs and a surprising number of loud cars even past midnight.

Heavy traffic noise from the A road close to the hotel meant that we had to sleep with the windows closed.

Although facing the road, there was not too much noise.

Only a couple of minor issues - there was no full length mirror in our room and because our room was just at the top of the first landing in the annexe there was a bit of noise from guests coming into the annexe from the main building.

but you can hear every foot print, so it could be rather disturbing if you are a light sleeper.

The lady on reception is really lovely and genuine.

From arriving all staff greeted us warmly.

Great location, decent hotel and good staff apart from the chap on reception that looked at you like you were a nuisance and wouldn’t never acknowledge or greet you as you walked in … don’t think he’s in the right job 😳

Good hotels are accommodating irrespective of the likely value of a sale.

We arrived to a kind young woman at the front desk

She has great rapport with her staff and clearly knows her job.

Breakfast was ok - I’ve had better

The staff here are amazing, the same team appear to be there year after year, an obvious sign in my opinion  that this is a good place to work.
