Lots of scuff marks on the walls, a clump of power bars and cords by the desk covered in dust, under the ac unit there was jar lids and half a sandwich, the bar fridge had drinks from the previous customers.

but the air conditioning issue drops the score.

The hallways on room floors are not bright like other modern hotels and our particular floor had a stale humid odour.

For those reading previous reviews, the AC is fixed and I don’t know what people are going on about re: the elevator

The worst problem was the air conditioning that did not work properly, leaving our rooms extremely hot and uncomfortable.

The room I stayed in was noisy on the street side and the air conditioner was noisy.

The hotel rooms are average, there is no ac all summer and we were not made aware.

Fridge wouldn’t get cold and air conditioner didn’t work well.

Next day after cleaning, the AC did not work again, and the smudge was gone,

I phoned again two hours later and they brought me a fan and still no communication on what was going on.

But most importantly, the AC is not working properly and it is clearly insufficient for the room.

The air conditioning system is not working.

Semi killer was every 5-20mins some type of decompression steam and squeaky breaking sound woke me up on first night.

The room was also exceptionally hot (and I am freezing all the time) even after turning the temperature way down; the fan then was very noisy all night.

oh and the wall panel underneath the air conditioner vent fell off the wall.

The air conditioner cover was lying on the floor and covered in mold.

Room AC was noisy, I did not have time to report it, as I was busy daily with meetings and was too tired when I got back.

Their response: "We'll send up maintenance. and a fan."

We turned the thermostat off and on, then back to 32C and in the morning realized it was blowing cold air.

Not one of them opened the door for us or came to help us, they just stood around looking useless.

Service is second to none, quiet rooms with comfortable beds and great amenities.

The beds were comfortable and you can tell the room preparation crews took pride in their work because of how amazing the room looked upon their daily visits.

Other than that, room was great - roomy, bed was comfortable, bathroom was very nice.

I had a wonderful nights sleep in a very comfortable bed as well.

They feel so special to be greeted at the door by name, and we love being able to collapse into the big comfy bed and put our feet up while they're occupied watching the cars in the window or watching tv in the other part of the suite.

The room I stayed in was nice and clean and the bed was Beyond comfortable.

On a good note, the bed was very comfortable.

At the same time, we propose to make it by cash, cos non all the tourist holding the credit card.

It is inconvenient that there is no USB charging port in the room.

Because I am eco-friendly conscientious, I was impressed with how Fairmont was already using eco-friendly products including the room key (no plastic key card) and no longer packaging their products with plastic. Wow!!!

For context purposes and to possibly help someone avoid a similar situation, the misunderstanding  was the fact that I had been billed for items that had apparently been consumed from the mini bar in my room and that was not the case.

I thought they might charge me if I sneezed.

Hotel is walking distance to the Forks, the Canadian Museum for Human Rights… 

Only issue we had was our cards continually being demagnetized.

Another issue that occurred was the demagnetizing of the hotel room key card.

although the bed was very comfortable, there weren't extra pillows in the closet and so many things dated it like the grey shallow tub from the 70's or the lack of usb plugs to charge our phones.

you already have a covered closed parkade and leaving client's vehicles outside overnight is not acceptable for this super high charge.

When I paid for the stay at checkout there was not a dinner charge for that evening.

So we FINALLY got our room cards (after 3 hours thank you very much) and I still had to ask about our parking (3rd disappointment).

I just received my
Bill and they charged us for parking.

The rooms are sad and in need of an upgrade if they plan to continue charging the exorbitant rates they normally do.

but are missing several contemporary standard amenities such as easily accessible electrical outlets in the room (had to charge my phone in the bathroom)  and a modern heating system which doesn't gurgle and make small explosion/popping sounds every few minutes throughout the night.

And even if it said the pass was good for the duration of our stay, the parking gate indicated the pass was already suspended during our departure so I had to go back to the frontdesk, informed frontdesk lady of the predicament (who advised they had to charge me 21 bucks for another parking pass), and politely advised and made her see reason I'm not paying for another damn parking pass when clearly it wasn't my fault the first pass they gave me was faulty.

“Thank you for choosing us to be a part of your Elton John Experience - we hope your stay is filled with sequins, sunglasses and memories to last a lifetime!” 
This sentiment was in a beautiful card that was waiting in our room along with a yellow brick & delectable cookies artfully arranged when we returned from the #farewellyellowbrickroad concert.

however my credit card has still been charged for the amount
I am not impressed at all, it felt like staying at a budget hotel !

Great location, attentive staff, overall felt safe being in downtown Winnipeg.

The hotel is located in the heart of downtown.

Downtown location within walking distance to several restaurants.

Checking out all of the hotels near downtown, the Fairmont had great rate for us and we decided to stay there.

Perfect location for exploring downtown Winnipeg.

The Delta, the Fort Garry, and the Inn at the Forks, are all much better bets for your downtown Winnipeg stay.

Good location for meeting and entertainment downtown.

The valet parking ( costs extra) is a great feature in a downtown hotel and during a Winnipeg winter.

My husband and I recently stayed overnight at the Fairmont Hotel, located in the heart of downtown Winnipeg at the corner of Portage & Main.

Just weird to be in a very quiet place and downtown certainly was not bustling.

This is a lovely hotel in Downtown Winnipeg with some nice people working.

The hotel is perfectly situated downtown, walking distance to all of the great things, food, entertainment, etc.

Fabulous location downtown Winnipeg, iconic Portage and Main a few steps away.

The location makes it work well for going so many places in downtown Winnipeg.

The hotel  is conveniently located and connected via underground or overpass walkways to most buildings downtown.

The Fairmont Winnipeg is well located downtown with good access to the Exchange District, the Forks and the Museum of Human Rights.

but still the bones of the classic gorgeous down town hotel we had apps and cocktails in the lounge our server Donna I’m sure her name was wonderful to say the least attentive helpful everything you want a server to be she was great and we were happy to see her again our second visit!

Right in the heart of downtown Winnipeg, close to shops, stores and most importantly, the Canadian Museum of Human Rights and The Forks.

Our server was Nat , she did a wonderful job, very attentive and knowledgable of the new menu items..   For breakfast we were greeted by Rod and Rita , very friendly staff members made us feel right at home.

The staff involved in arranging our wedding ceremony/reception in their VG Room - in particular banquet manager Gina Tavares - were consistently competent, courteous, helpful, friendly, and flexible when asked to be.

The people are lovely and we enjoyed the package we booked which included a free drink, free parking, and a free breakfast.

We were very excited to stay at the Fairmont with the Kiss and Wake up Package, as we are Winnipeggers and have always heard great things about this hotel.

I had booked a package for our anniversary.

I would like to think they are aware of the packages their guests booked and what comes with it right from check-in.

Room wasn’t ready for early check-in despite booking a package with early arrival included.

We really enjoyed the package we purchased and all staff members we saw/talked to were very kind.

Parents with kids who need a break, do yourselves a favor and get one of the many packages that the hotel offers.

My boyfriend bought valentines day package during coronavirus pandemic.

My wife and I got their Kiss and Wakeup package to celebrate our anniversary.

We booked the Urban Escape package to celebrate our anniversary and were surprised and delighted to find out we had been given an upgrade to the gold level when we arrived.

I was advised to book an upgraded package which included parking  a complimentary drink for us in the lounge which ended up being two each and complimentary breakfast that was off the menu.

I believe she got the couples package that came with 2x drinks for two and 1-2 breakfasts in bed.

The package included free parking, breakfast for two and a couple of cocktails in the bar.

Our package included breakfast the next morning and our server - Rob or Roy (sorry can’t recall), said we could have anything from the menu, including orange juice and coffee.

We booked the Urban Escape package and it was very well worth the money.

Staff are great and the "Urban Package" is well worth it and it is a 10- 15 minute walk to the Jets game indoors via the tunnels.

The Kiss & Wake Up Package included a one-night stay, self-parking, chocolate covered strawberries, a bottle of champagne and breakfast in the restaurant - along with a late check-out of 3pm.

Besides the pool mishap, the hotel is very clean and professional.

The only positive I can say was the valet, was very polite and personable.

I booked last minute after a terrible Airbnb stay the night before, and the team at the Fairmont moved heaven and earth to help me check in early.

We bbq chicken, mashed potatoes with asparagus, and different kinds of carrots.

My wife hit the bottom of the orange juice, so took something else, next thing the lady in charge of breakfast brought over a glass of orange juice for her after getting the OJ firing again.

My partner and I arrived without a credit card and were stranded in Winnipeg with my service dog in tow.

No offer to comp room charges to the 5 victims, which could have been the very least you could do.

A day after we left the hotel the manager "texted" saying we had damaged the desk and was charging us an extra $258!

Be prepared for the "incidentals" charge with no clear indication of when (or if) the money will be returned.

Late check-out at 3pm for a small additional charge was a plus.

Not sure if my credit card got charged 3 times or not at this point.

So then they told me it would be an extra charge for them to go in and they can only go for half an hour,

I phoned the lady to ask why they were charge extra, she was not friendly over the phone and doesn't even sound friendly.

Then as I walked away he asked what room I was in and said he could get one and charged me 12.00.  it was strange

Quoted $130 on Best Western Rewards online and was charged $170 first night and $130 next two nights.

You are not relegated to a "pet room" either, nor charged extra.

but puzzled on the $200 damage deposit on our card.

If you booked here, get ready for the additional charges when you arrive in the hotel, the night staff are rude as well, im not pleased with their attitude.

To the credit of front desk staffer Josephine, we were promptly relocated to another room.

It did not give me comfort about how much exactly was taken off my credit card.

I was somewhat baffled at the request to leave a damage deposit on my credit card.

The free  breakfast included was very nice and fresh, full breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausages, potato cakes, toast, yogurt, fresh fruit, muffins, banana bread & fresh coffee.

The booking process and online check in works great, one of the best complimentary breakfasts you will find.

Parking and continental breakfast are included, and you are minutes away from a wide range of Winnipeg destinations

The staff is very friendly, the pool and hot tub are fun and relaxing to be in and the complimentary breakfast is yummy!

This one in Winnipeg, Canada  meet  the same expectations,  clean room, confortable bed,  great staff and s great hot breakfast with options.

The room was immaculate, they treated my fur baby like one of the family.

the room is clean, functional, and comfy.

The pet rooms were very clean with laminate floors and the staff were very accommodating for us to have a late check out.

Our room was clean, blankets are always nice and comfy, more than enough pillows, too!

Not a comfortable sleep as mattresses were hard and bathrooms are too small.

The bathroom was a bit small - my only complaint.

BUT, a tiny bathroom with a tiny toilet placed inches above the floor so that if feels like you are falling to sit on it.

The shampoos were tiny and didn't lather.

Room and bathroom were a bit small for 2 couples.

Extra mirror and small desk outside bathroom.

Washroom's really small and air conditoner's loud.

In addition to the breakfast, they included an “evening snack” which for a light supper eater would be more than enough - hot soup with crackers, assortment of fresh veggies, fruit and chips.

There was a athletic team staying at the same time and there were never any snacks to enjoy.

In the evening they provide Soup and Snack.
