My wife hit the bottom of the orange juice, so took something else, next thing the lady in charge of breakfast brought over a glass of orange juice for her after getting the OJ firing again.

My partner and I arrived without a credit card and were stranded in Winnipeg with my service dog in tow.

No offer to comp room charges to the 5 victims, which could have been the very least you could do.

A day after we left the hotel the manager "texted" saying we had damaged the desk and was charging us an extra $258!

Be prepared for the "incidentals" charge with no clear indication of when (or if) the money will be returned.

Late check-out at 3pm for a small additional charge was a plus.

Not sure if my credit card got charged 3 times or not at this point.

So then they told me it would be an extra charge for them to go in and they can only go for half an hour,

I phoned the lady to ask why they were charge extra, she was not friendly over the phone and doesn't even sound friendly.

Then as I walked away he asked what room I was in and said he could get one and charged me 12.00.  it was strange

Quoted $130 on Best Western Rewards online and was charged $170 first night and $130 next two nights.

You are not relegated to a "pet room" either, nor charged extra.

but puzzled on the $200 damage deposit on our card.

If you booked here, get ready for the additional charges when you arrive in the hotel, the night staff are rude as well, im not pleased with their attitude.

To the credit of front desk staffer Josephine, we were promptly relocated to another room.

The fumes came into our room- which was on the fourth floor, which is also something that needs addressing.

Baked goods were stale / hard and there were not many choices for vegetarians.

We needed to ask for a different room because the first room we were given had a musty smell.

No place to hand damp towels to dry except over the shower bar.

Window did not open, so room air a bit humid and stale.

Just a musty, stuffy air and the fan in the bathroom was running when I first entered.

If you have allergies ask to be put on the third or fourth floor to be pet free and also away from the pool end as that wing leading to the pool does have a strong odor and I would assume is related to the salt water pool and high humidity. Also.

but I think there must be something wrong with their ventilation pulling in smoke.

Travelling across country with three kids, and also a cockatiel bird this time, I had to find a hotel that was pet friendly and non smoking.

I'm used to no smoking in restaurants and thought the upside down ashtray was to hold our liter of wine. Embarassing.

There was even a bag with a dog blanket, dog poop bags and a couple of absorbant pads should fido can't make it outside in time.

Breakfast was a little stale by 830a though.

Getting out of bed and going out in freezing cold weather lugging a couple of heavy bags.

Best decision we made at the last minute to book a room due to drastic change in weather with lots of snow and extreme cold.

The only thing that could be better would be a covered walkway to the terminal - it was mighty cold at 3:30am and -30C and dressed for Mexico

However the room was cold when sitting by the window.

We stayed two and needed to completely rearrange our packing as we were moving from warm to cold weather and more space would have been useful to unpack.

although it would be nice if there was a skywalk so you didn’t have to be out in the cold after coming back from a warm destination.

Hotel is very modern and would almost say it is a bit cold.

There was a strong and cold draft from the floor to ceiling windows which made for a rather chilly shower in the morning.

The air conditioner sometimes blasted cold air at its own discretion, regardless of the temperature setting; likewise, the water temperature in the shower fluctuated every few seconds and was rarely more than pleasantly warm.

although it is right at the airport is a little trickier in the winter with the extreme cold and blowing winds especially if you have baggage to move.

Restaurant (sandwich etc) was quite cold & took a bit too long to get one cocktail from bar.

It was not until I emailed the front desk with the page link that I received a response albeit cold, that they will oblige.

The contemporary nature of the hotel is a bit cold feeling for my tastes,

but the result was a grey, cold and impersonal concrete box.

Only negative - it's Winnipeg and it's cold and the hotel is not joined to the airport.

Rooms HVAC system is not the greatest, it is either too hot or too cold.

A very short walk, even in cold winter temperatures (although it might have been a good idea to have planned for an enclosed walkway due to our weather and to facilitate passengers with luggage).

While the hotel is very pricey, it is located in a prime spot at The Forks.

No one offered to reduce the cost of the room.

Parking was expensive at $20.00 per day plus the cost of the room and it was separate from the building.

Lost my reservation, I had to book last minute at a much higher rate.

.Parking could have been a little bit more secure for the price one pays to stay in an open parking lot and in which I parked my vehicle by myself every day during my stay.

The slow service, cold food, and ridiculously high pricing for mediocre food put a real damper on what otherwise was a lovely week in Winnipeg with old friends.

It was over $6 for two small glasses and it had to be paid before she’d bring it.

It is a little on the expensive side which carries with it higher expectations.

No designated parking for hotel guests and the parking fees were outrageous.

I find the rooms are spacious (stayed in a King), the shower has great pressure, and the upscale amenities (soap & conditioner) are really nice. MISSES: our room had some cleanliness issues where it was obvious the counters had not been wiped, and large breadcrumbs(?)

I stayed at the Inn at the forks for a work trip and enjoyed my accommodations a lot - the rooms were clean and modern, the staff were friendly and the food at the Smith restaurant was great.

I had to travel for business and this hotel was recommended and i was pleased with the staff and the cleanliness of the rooms.

We like the elevator needs a room key to use

When using the elevator, each floor is accessed by key card.

My wife was stuck in an elevator with one of them and felt uneasy.

We had a room right across from the elevator and the ice machine and vending machines and we had the quietest sleep, no noise from the hallway or the street side!

Also at night, you need a key to get into the actual hotel part of the building during later hours, and to use the elevator at all hours of the day.

Didn't give any instructions on how to get to the elevators since we are staying at the 3rd floor, no additional information of the amenities of the hotel ie.

My only issue was we, 2 seniors, were given a room at the far end of the hotel requiring a designated elevator.

My only downside would’ve been if we had known we were close to an elevator we might have asked a different room,

After check in, received our keys, went to the elevator swiped our card, didn’t work.

Oh - we ordered in & had to go down to the lobby to pick it up, because the elevator is locked, unless you have a room key.

The only 'down' side was that the elevators are very slow.

The elevator was out-of-order for several hours.

The only negative thing about the experience was that the iPhone app I used as a room key did not work in the elevator to allow me to get to my floor.

Upon check in, we were not told that we needed our key cars to use the elevator.

If I had to request one thing it would be a lift at the pool for our handicapped son.

Second attempt at a guestroom has a very noisy A/C unit and is directly next to an elevator, ice machine and elevator . .

Every single time we left our room there was a wait for the lone, tiny elevator going both up and down.

Minor comments: 1) an alarm went off on the phone at 2:30 a.m.; 2) the room has a small microwave, Keurig coffee maker, mini-fridge.

When asked for an explanation we were told management makes the calls.

Then i call the front desk again and they say that they had checked and there was nobody there.

We had an extremely early flight so we decided to book a room at the Victoria Inn to make our 2 am wake up call a little easier.

They should have been forthcoming on the price gouge, without my investigating & calling them on it.

Where to start, when I booked this room through the call center, they tried to charge me $180 for the night.

Yesterday I spoke with the call centre, after having some issues getting through the services I was hoping for I was put through to Aaron and he provided excellent customer service.

Countless calls to front desk, finally got me a maintenance man that couldn't get it going.

but I also didn't keep calling the front desk to complain - I was hoping that the parents would realize their kids were out running around yelling in the hallways and slamming doors, and round them up.

In our excitement the next morning to check out my daughter left her phone in the room we got about a half hour away and call the hotel to see if they had found it.

There is a phone at the info desk at the airport you use and they pick you back up, taking you to your car!

The mobile app they wanted up to download to use as a keycard didn't work,

To help with a quieter hotel, the room doors needs dampers or whatever you call the thing that slows the door closing, as constant door banging is also very disturbing.

There are not enough or accessible to plug in phone, tablet etc.

We had to call and ask for one to be brought to us twice, both times being told one was on its way.

The pool water was cloudy, the liner was stained brown, you could see the color variations from clean to dirty on the liner, there was a ring of slim around the bottom of the baby slide.

Feeling helpless to call front desk again to speak with the same clerk who wasn't helpful in the first place, i let it go.

Immaculate room, delicious food, and the customer service was like no other.

Since the property is under renovations, there was one small hiccup with my room (they were doing concrete work, and the smell was a little strong.

Two things to improve: Banquet food was ok, served luke-warm and some gift shop items were stale and need to be refreshed more often.

Not a clean hotel our room was a Pet room urine on floor wreaked .

but the room we rented was small, the fridge was small and broken, the sink backed up and water was shooting out of the drain.

Place is a joke rooms are filthy front desk people don't know what they are doing left a 100 deposit for a room and front desk worked tried to claim I never left anything so pretty much said to bad food was garbage pool was gross I would have rather slept in my car then stayed here do your self a favor and STAY AWAY keep your money and stay elsewhere

When I moved the shower curtain, three soiled face clothes fell into the standing water that had been there from previous guests.

The only issue I had with the hotel was the smell.

The hotel should not allow people to smoke within meters of the main entrance.

The sheets had a permanent stain on them and the room had an odor was smoke.

As we were waiting to check-in, other hotel guests were walking in and out, and they distinctly smelt of drugs (it didn't make us feel very safe knowing these were the people who would be staying in the hotel with us).
