The free  breakfast included was very nice and fresh, full breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausages, potato cakes, toast, yogurt, fresh fruit, muffins, banana bread & fresh coffee.

Rooms are clean,  well maintained,  good breakfast.

The rooms are clean, lots of options for the continental breakfast and the staff are great and go out of their way to help.

They have the best staff, a wonderful hot breakfast.

The booking process and online check in works great, one of the best complimentary breakfasts you will find.

My wife hit the bottom of the orange juice, so took something else, next thing the lady in charge of breakfast brought over a glass of orange juice for her after getting the OJ firing again.

My partner and I arrived without a credit card and were stranded in Winnipeg with my service dog in tow.

No offer to comp room charges to the 5 victims, which could have been the very least you could do.

A day after we left the hotel the manager "texted" saying we had damaged the desk and was charging us an extra $258!

Be prepared for the "incidentals" charge with no clear indication of when (or if) the money will be returned.

Late check-out at 3pm for a small additional charge was a plus.

Not sure if my credit card got charged 3 times or not at this point.

So then they told me it would be an extra charge for them to go in and they can only go for half an hour,

I phoned the lady to ask why they were charge extra, she was not friendly over the phone and doesn't even sound friendly.

Then as I walked away he asked what room I was in and said he could get one and charged me 12.00.  it was strange

Quoted $130 on Best Western Rewards online and was charged $170 first night and $130 next two nights.

You are not relegated to a "pet room" either, nor charged extra.

but puzzled on the $200 damage deposit on our card.

If you booked here, get ready for the additional charges when you arrive in the hotel, the night staff are rude as well, im not pleased with their attitude.

To the credit of front desk staffer Josephine, we were promptly relocated to another room.

It did not give me comfort about how much exactly was taken off my credit card.

I was somewhat baffled at the request to leave a damage deposit on my credit card.

Not a comfortable sleep as mattresses were hard and bathrooms are too small.

The bathroom was a bit small - my only complaint.

BUT, a tiny bathroom with a tiny toilet placed inches above the floor so that if feels like you are falling to sit on it.

The shampoos were tiny and didn't lather.

Room and bathroom were a bit small for 2 couples.

Extra mirror and small desk outside bathroom.

Washroom's really small and air conditoner's loud.

As soon as tub filled and jets turned on mold,scum,body oil that was festering in the jets filled the tub as well.

The managers words were “too bad she’s got to go somewhere else.” Absolutely disgusting behaviour. -100000/10.

The fumes came into our room- which was on the fourth floor, which is also something that needs addressing.

Baked goods were stale / hard and there were not many choices for vegetarians.

We needed to ask for a different room because the first room we were given had a musty smell.

No place to hand damp towels to dry except over the shower bar.

Cons:
Window did not open, so room air a bit humid and stale.

Just a musty, stuffy air and the fan in the bathroom was running when I first entered.

If you have allergies ask to be put on the third or fourth floor to be pet free and also away from the pool end as that wing leading to the pool does have a strong odor and I would assume is related to the salt water pool and high humidity. Also.

but I think there must be something wrong with their ventilation pulling in smoke.

Travelling across country with three kids, and also a cockatiel bird this time, I had to find a hotel that was pet friendly and non smoking.

I'm used to no smoking in restaurants and thought the upside down ashtray was to hold our liter of wine. Embarassing.

There was even a bag with a dog blanket, dog poop bags and a couple of absorbant pads should fido can't make it outside in time.

Breakfast was a little stale by 830a though.

This place had a hot breakfast which was okay.

From the airport shuttle driver with the big smile to the front desk staff who ensured we had everything we required and the breakfast servers who made fresh eggs as the eggs ran out  and served them to our table - we had an amazing stay.

Very friendly staff, clean pool area and good breakfast selection which is also included.

Breakfast was delicious as usual for a Hampton Inn.

Included hot/cold breakfast was also good.

Stayed here during a family get together weekend, staff  at the front desk were very helpful, breakfast was enjoyable,  rooms were good.

The continental breakfast was fabulous and the manager made a point of visiting each guest and making them feel very welcome.

The staff were cheap with their breakfast.

We added a romance package one night, which included wine and strawberries plus breakfast the next morning.

We both enjoyed the presentation of our food as well as a delicious dessert.

The egg dishes were an imitation of Benedict of Florentine.

We had one breakfast in their oval restaurant and it was delicious.

For example, our breakfast server from the previous day made a special effort to come over and talk to us the next day,

The Oval Brasserie restaurant is a must dine in experience - eggselent eggs benedict and fine wine selection!

The staff is so warm and hospitable, the food is delicious and beautifully prepared,  the rooms are comfortable and the overall feel is from a grander time.

Breakfast indoors at the restaurant, and dinner outdoors at that patio were both superb.

I enjoyed both dinner and breakfast, in addition to a room service delivery.

We knew we could also look forward to a wonderful breakfast the next morning.

Restaurant was great especially for breakfast.

We were offered minimal compensation of two free days of parking and breakfast both are cheap ways to not take responsibility.

I think what was stellar was the staff at the front desk and the restaurant who were always incredibly accommodating about our breakfast requests (note, please bring back bacon instead of ham on your breakfast menu).

Staff was super welcoming and accomodating, the room gorgeous, the food delicious.

I enjoyed eating breakfast at the Provencher Lounge, located on the main level in the most beautiful ballroom with such ornate details everywhere (make sure to look up to the ceiling).

but gift shop was open which had extra food and breakfast items which we used.

The noise through the thin walls and the awkward layout of the room were considered in this review,

The walls are thin and you can hear your neighbours.

That dominated  the space in the remaining part of the tall walls.

Once on our floor, you see that the hallways are wide and the walls, doors, etc.

Due to the fact it’s an old building the walls are so thin.

Downsides: room initially booked (standard queen, second floor) was tiny, and with a view of a wall.

but our tv had wires hanging down and there were paint chunks taken out of the wall.

but being in wall dispensers kind of gives a tacky feeling to the experience.

Walls are paper thin and we could hear every neighbour conversation, including the couple arguing beside us.

The extra water jets on the wall were somewhat clogged and didn’t spray as nice as they should have.

I found the bed a bit lumpy in both rooms, and the walls are very thin (you can hear your neighbours sneeze, among other things).

This idiot couple is really putting on a show next door, we banged on the wall and they just got louder. Ridiculous.

My room (one of the cheaper ones) was small and looked out on a blank wall (not that I cared -- I just undressed, slept, showered, and dressed there).

First off, I would ignore the reviews that focus on grouting, cracks in the walls etc.

If asked, I would lighten up the halls with cream paint, rather than the dismal green that colours the walls now.

There was a bit of the wall jutting out, about 8 inches in front of the toilet.

Carpets in the hallways were cut with large gaps missing along the walls, twist ties (bread bag types) were used to hold the hair dryer cord to the bathroom wall, the bed skirt was stained, cracked tiles in the bathroom, mildewed grout in the bathroom and the sole piece of art in the room was a super enlarged correspondence to the hotel from the 1920's (okay, I know that's picky).

The steam shower dripped hot scalding water on you while you sat on an uncomfortably hot bench.

There had to be something wrong with it as it never kicked out and the sound of running water never stopped.

but then the lot is full when you return, bottled water in room is only available for a fee, fees for a fridge in the room, dog fee feels exploitative.

but once you turn the water on, you can't get the temperature right.

For $159/night, I expect a clean room at least, then it’s $18 on top of that to park and water in the room was $6 for one bottle.

but it bugs me that things like parking or a bottle of water are not included in the price, that everything is an extra.

A little tip on getting coffee:  make sure you specify what "type" of coffee you like or they will only bring you water.

3) please make the bottle of water in the room free of charge.

but the shower water temperature fluctuates between hot and cold.

Shower didn’t have cold water; choices were super hot and extremely hot.

but the water temperature was not steady which made showering an adventure.

The only thing would be that the fridge is an additional $15/night and there is also no hot water boiler provided in the rooms.

When they offer bottled water in the room for $6 each, I would have expected that the bathtub would have been newer than the 1980s model.

At this time the hotel experienced a bad water break.

After a long day of meeting it was nice to be able to get out and do these things and get some of the local foods near the Forks area.There is not tea or regular water bottles in room

We had two rooms one dated and one modernised both prices similarly neither room had coffee or tea facilities, which I would expect as a minimum and bottled water was chargeable at over $6 ridiculous!!

Pay extra if you wanted a cup of tea (or hot water) at 9 pm.

Breakfast each morning was included, and was slightly different each of the four mornings we were there giving a bit of variety.

The hotel had a spacious room, had very good beds, good bathroom, breakfast was included

They had a great free breakfast and local paper.

Breakfast was a bonus (buffet style) for the price.

Clean room, friendly staff, decent breakfast.

Just some breads such as bagels, toast and eggs/ham.

Staycation with the wife, staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast was nice, Hot tub was a nice.

Close to the jobs site, price was great for the location, breakfast was provided in the price, staff were friendly, room was fine.

Had to find a hotel quick for a week as a pipe burst in my apartment, staff were friendly, room was nice, and they had complimentary breakfast in the morning.

Great staff, close to lots of bars, breakfast was included definitely will be coming back.

Breakfast was good and the area was big enough to not be overcrowded.

On top of all that, the room rate includes a great buffet (hot and cold) breakfast.

And they do charge $10 per day for the parking.

She then in turn charged his debit card $500 for incidentals.

but did not have room left on their credit card for the damage deposit.

One month later got credit card statement for an extra $1000 dollar charge.

but not too impressed with the $10 per night parking charge.

even though the amount was already pre-authorised on my credit card.

although on the one day we did not hang out the "Do Not Disturb" card housekeeping missed us.

This hotel processes the charge to your credit card.

We were even given a letter from the hotel about the cancellation with Expedia and that no cancellation fees were to be charged to us by Expedia or Humphry Inn and Suites!

The key card constantly had to be re-programmed, regardless if it had been near my phone or not - this wasn't a huge issue, just a bit of a hassle.

So, now having >$750USD (exactly $1000CAD) in credit tied up on my account, I did.

I agreed and called the Humphrys with my card number.

although I had prepaid for the room - my credit card was required for a $500 security payment.

While driving enroute from Calgary, we discovered that a purchase was made on our card without our knowledge or permission.

When we arrived late night the water was off for maintenance and they still wanted to charge for bottled water.

Later we came back to the Humphry only to have Bill, who was the manager in charge of the check in desk inform us our train is going to be many hours late as there was a problem with a freight train in British Columbia and our Via Canadian isn't allowed to pass that train.

Credit card hold was reasonable ($150 for two nights) and released as soon as we checked out!

I was never informed they would be keeping this money and it was taken from my credit card, I queried it whilst there

but only once i contacted my credit card company and after 4 weeks.

Called the front desk 4 times, twice it rang over 15 times with no answer.

I contacted the manager to discuss this and a call has still not been returned.

When I phone to ask about them fixing it I was told the room was damaged.

It was a stunning compliment to the soap ring in the bathtub and only heightened the exquisite elegance of their minimalist approach to housekeeping.

When the police were called they told her to call the non emergency line -they would get there when they could.

The night was one of people running through hallways, knocking on doors, prank phone calls (I ended up unplugging the phone from the wall to try to get some sleep).

Used the GPS on the phone and drove straight to it; we did not have a reservation

but this wasn't that big of a deal to us, the front desk had give us a phone call a week earlier as well to make us aware.

The staff was exceptionally supportive from the time of making the reservation by telephone to checking out.

They told me to phone in every hour for an update on the time of departure.

While travelling from Ontario to Winnipeg I received a call from my step daughter.

BUT - we asked to change our length of stay (took 30 min phone conversation bc the hotel was 'full').

I definately would not call the rooms 'dated'.

I work in customer service, and if I knew a client was there, waiting for a room, I would be calling the person in charge of cleaning the room and making sure it was moved to the front of the line.

Some of the little things I look for in a hotel are: stopper for the sink in the bathroom, wash cloth, free local calls, good noise insulation between rooms, double glazed windows to keep noise out.

He said he'd call me back in 5 minutes and never did!

Air conditioner didn’t work - it muggy and warm in our room the whole night.

but now the fan on the AC unit was off again!

All of my issues were controllable by the hotel staff and manager which were handled poorly.

And the heater in the room was incredibly loud.

THe themostat in the bedroom did not work and the control panel on the wall unit was broken.

I took the filter out of the AC unit and it was dusty and smelly.

This place is close to a very large truck stop and when I stayed there I open my windows in my room every time at every hotel, well the truck stop outside my window blew dieslel smell into the room as I forgot to close before my meetings and came back to that.

We booked a suite, under the impression that this hotel understood the definition of a suite (not a couch and bed in the same room), the floor in the pool area is incredibly slippery and dangerous, the water is freezing, the staff make no effort to help with any requests.

My only complaint/concern was when leaving there had been freezing rain overnight and the parking lot was a skating rink.

My son has asthma and normally hotel swimming pools have bad ventilation and he can't breath because of the chlorine in the air.

Breakfast was well looked after and everything was fresh. Only "complaint" would be that the heater/air conditioner in the room made a loud buzzing/shrill-ish sound whenever it turned on to circulate the air (sounded like something could be stuck in the blade maybe..?)

Loved the stay, my family and I enjoyed the pool and the breakfast so much.

Check in is easy, and the breakfast is top notch.
