Bed sagged, wallpaper was hanging off, bathroom needed a gut reno and power strip with all appliances plugged in didn’t scream safe.

The furniture and carpet were stained, the door would not close without slamming it, the bathroom door would not close, there was rust at the bathtub and toilet drains, and mold in the bathrooms.

The rooms are spacious the bathroom is a little dated

but gave 4 stars because the washroom in our room was very small.

Room need some maintenance especially in bathroom.

Some bathrooms are very small, so if you are a larger person you may want to ask for a larger one.

The room was dirty,peeling wallpaper,drip marks on the walls of the bathroom and furniture that was so worn we didnt want to sit on it.

The bathroom sink had no drainage stopper so you could accidentally drop something in it.

It's just an old hotel that could use a bit of investment -- a new tub without rust, thicker windows to keep out street noise six stories below, etc.

The room was very small and you practically had to back into the bathroom it was so small.

As a historic city hotel the rooms are not huge and the bathroom is rather tiny

The en suite tub in the room was falling apart and dirty.

Just know that the hotel is over 100 years old, so don't expect modern amenities and furnishings.

Anyway, for me, nothing detracted from my first favorable impression of the bathroom.

The gravity of the drain hole was extreme and captured several toothpaste tube tops--lost forever.

I used the bathroom, which again, was a challenge to get in.

Need to remember the hotel is 100 years old so the bathroom is small and the appointments follow suit.

Service was great, staff was friendly and helpful.

From the moment you drive in to their rear parking lot to the moment you check out--you don't it's an express system-just leave at the end of your stay--I enjoyed a welcoming and friendly attitude from all staff.

There is a secure parking area, a friendly front desk, nice lobby and the location is very convenient to downtown area.

SOME of the bathrooms are a bit small, as this is a Historic Hotel and back in the day folks didn't require 475 square feet of bathroom space.

We were transferred to another room that was better in that it didn’t smell.

This best western is filthy, very old and I would not touch one item in it.

I accidentally touched it and it was disgusting.

My room was musty and there was mildew on the shower.

Only complaints were that the hallway (8th floor) had a bad smell and the bathroom lighting is really bad/dark.

Also our room had  a very musty smell and there were not two queen beds, one was clearly a portable double nowhere near big enough for two people to sleep in.

The room smelled strongly like stale smoke, we could hear the conversations going on in rooms on either side.

There was no residual cigarette smoke in any part of the hotel that we were in which was a bonus considering how old the hotel is.

Though the hotel is non-smoking, we found many people smoking in the loading dock, which is only separated by one door from the entrance hallway.

And 3rd this is a non smoking hotel and it smelled so bad of stale smoke and fresh weed.

This blatant disregard for the safety of guests and patrons as well as Pennsylvania law is absolutely disgusting.

Motel like appearance takes away from the hotel and musty smell in the hall way does not help.

however the rooms did not look like the pictures on the website and had a musty old smell.

In front of me there was a gentlemen who had an issue and the staff checking breakfast cards proceeded to talk about him when he left and call him very nasty names in front of me.

This place was unsanitary-filthy, had a terrible odor, everything about it was down-right DISGUSTING & CREEPY.

This a charming, old hotel with a great staff, comfortable beds, great breakfast, bar, and restaurant in downtown Williamsport.

Clean rooms, helpful staff, fast and easy to check in and out.

Meeting rooms were spacious and our event was handled very well by staff.

Room service was offered every 3 days, and fresh towels were available if I walked to the front desk.

The local attitude was great, had a live jazz band that played for the crowd in the alley where the fun spot is.

The check-in staff was gracious, the room was very nice and I like to see a grand older hotel (the Genetti was originally the Lycoming Hotel built in 1922) restored and well appointed.

Front desk staff is exceptional check-in process was very easy.

While this is an older hotel, it has a lot of charm and the room was equipped with a small refrigerator, nice writing desk, and a small wing chair.

Every staff member was generous with their time and acted most professionally.

We have been going to the geneti for years, the place is beautiful, the staff is great and we are never disappointed.

The staff has that classic old touch hospitality and looks after everyone.

I could hear my next-door neighbors through the bathroom vent,

The only minor room complaints were (1) the room was dark with only 3 lights in the entire room and (2) the bathroom fan was loud and did not turn off when you turned off the bathroom light.

The window has what I think is a really effective two-tier blind arrangement by which you can regulate the amount of light coming into your room.

Only problem we had was a noisy baseboard  heater.

The challenge in my opinion is that the room furniture is showing its age, room was dark and with the desk next to the AC (without a way to control the direction of blow) was impossible to utilize.

Upon check in, i found that they had put an oxygenator in my room and cranked up the A/C.

I switched the unit to constant fan and hardly noticed the AC kicking in.

but, unfortunately, our room next door was smoking and a bunch of rooms across the hall were smoking as well, so the smoke goes through the vents and it resulted in a moldy, smokey room.

The AC/heating unit was a tad noisy and cycled often.

The one downside is you can't make the fan run constantly while the air conditioning is on.

We didn't complain about the air conditioning that needed to be turned to 60 to get any coolness in the room, or about the tv in the bedroom that only had a few channels because most of them said "no signal".

The room stank of smoke and even after leaving the ac on while we had dinner and shopped it was still bad.

We encountered a minor issue with the heating system which the hotel took care of promptly.

And, strangely the carpeting in the entire room was unusually damp and the air conditioning failed on upstart.

At times I felt like I was in a room in Trump Plaza in AC

Apparently there was an issue with the heater - and that was a disappointment after 10+hrs on the road.

I was greeted by a friendly employee at the front desk, the lobby and breakfast areas were neat and clean, and coffee was available all day near the front desk.

I need to emphasize that every staff member is professional, courteous, knowledgeable and friendly.

However, the first room I was given smelled of masked smoke, as did the second, which I accepted because it was a little less smoke and more mask and because I'd given up: I'm not the complaining type and figured they were trying their best and there was no point smelling a third room.

My initial room had a cigarette smell, and I requested to change rooms.

The non-smoking room smelled of old cigarettes, as did the hallway.

My main disappointment was that the hallway and room STANK of cigarette smoke,

Our room was very clean except the wall mirror in the living room was filthy.

but the helpful staff came through and got rid of the strange odor in our room.

I did have a light bulb burn out in my room and they fixed it while I was out and left me a Hershey bar with a note saying it was fixed.

The room smelt horrible and the odor went into my clothes.

We will never stay in a smoking room again.

Then I had to move again because of an extended stay so I was given a smoking room only because there were no other rooms available.

We had a slight smell on one side of the bedroom (we were in a non-smoking room).

The one complaint I do have is being placed in a smoking room.

At check in, they told us we'd been assigned a smoking room. Ummm.

My room had the smell of deferred carpet maintanence and the furniture is showing signs of wear.

but was assured it was a non-smoking hotel.

Honestly, we spent fewer than five hours a night in the room, as the smell was rank.

but every day I used it, and every day it smelled like vomit, despite a sign indicating it had just been mopped, a sign which remained there all five days.

The smell of chlorine was so overwhelming that you could tell they were trying to keep up with any mold or fungus growth.

The Hotel 4th floor and our room reeked of what smelled like cigarette smoke.

Gross bathroom had bloody bodily fluids dried on shower walls and curtain and used coffee filter in coffee maker.

The hot tub was filthy and indoor pool was a cold as ice.

but it was also in a smoking hall which smelled like cigarettes and was a bit gross.

I wish the hotel was totally non-smoking.

After asking to switch rooms we were informed of a leak,they were awear of already of the smell.

but there are safe deposit boxes at the front desk.

Checked in and we were greeted with wine and cheese and biscuits, very nice start.

This hotel is clean, quiet, had great staff and is within walking distance from a great strip of businesses for food, drinks and shopping.

I have a sneaky suspicion the hotel had no interest in acknowledging my problematic stay.

The woman that greeted us was very nice as was the woman that checked us out.

Staff at hotel were warm and very welcoming especially "C" who helped with restaurant recommendations and sites to see around town.

The hotel staff was welcoming and helpful, the furnishings were up to date (there were even fall holiday touches in the lobby) and the bedroom and bathroom were clean.

The team took great care of us and even gave us a late check out while we awaited for the car to be repaired.

The only downfall to the stay was the  hotel staff did not recognize me as a silver rewards  member and charged me for a bottle water where other hotels do not.

The cancellation was part of the move and the other hotel billed us a no show.

we were not charged for an extra car, and given the option of a late check out without asking or being charged.

As a Hilton Honors member I was informed that while receiving credit for the stay I couldn't receive points.

I was told that I had to use the original card.

but after traveling 4 hours and already going back down once when key card did not work, we just wanted to go to sleep.

She knew they could figure it out later without my credit card being charged a second time.

There was no extra charge for the switch and the rollaway.

I’ve stayed in most of the hotels in the greater Williamsport area and this Hampton Inn is head and shoulders above all others in terms of service, cleanliness and friendly helpful staff.

I arrived to my room after check in to find the toilet bowl disgustingly stained and the room reeked of cigarettes.

Carpet was disgusting in the halls as well as the rooms.

Pool and hot tub needed shocked as chlorine smell was over powering.

1 complaint, they tried to cover up previous smoking with aerosols instead of using an ozone machine.

I think the air/heat unit needs a new filter (dusty smell when it comes on).

I tried the gym and left to walk the trail instead as the gym was smelly,  stuffy and needs equipment fixed.

Upon arrival in our room, there was a funky odor that was bad.

Floors in the bedroom and bathroom both were filthy.

Our room had a leaking air conditioner and the smell of must and accommodated for it in a very professional manner.

The heating system worked very well, and there was no "stale" odor, like in many other hotel rooms.

100% smoke free is something I am willing to pay extra for, and the breakfast is a step above the average "free breakfast".

As the hotel is new, I was shocked to gag at a permeating bad smell.

The outside area with two fireplaces was a hit for post wedding reception drinks and laughs.

True to Hampton Inn & Suites protocol, the hotel is spotless clean, the breakfast is amazing, the staff knowledgeable and pleasant.

After she useless visit from the cleaning staff I resorted to soaking several towels in hot water and shampoo just to clean it myself.

Front desk girl was so sweet and helpful.

Don't expect the front desk personnel to be pleasant, helpful or nice.

I have never been talked to by anyone in customer service the way that the management team at this location does.

Everyone is helpful, property is exceptional with cleanliness and their employees are outstanding.

From check in to check out the staff of this hotel was excellent.

From now on, I will be asking more questions prior to booking.

If you book and expect amenities such as a fridge and one is not in your room, call the desk.

I was on the road for over 17 hours and just wanted a hot shower and to curl up in my bed and go to sleep.

Our room was VERY dusty - used a bleach wipe on tables and they were BLACK, lighting was poor, the bathroom door creaked, no soap, shampoo, or conditioner when we arrived.

The bathroom did not have any amenities most importantly towels and toilet paper (thankfully they delivered them promptly to the room when we called).

Toilet was clogged up when I got there and I had to get them to bring me a toilet plunger.

When we got back, there was a note to call the front desk because there was a water leak and we needed to switch rooms.

It was not firm and stable ,if you try to adjust your self the toilet  would shift it up either to the right or left so if you were flushing the toilet while  you are sitting on it the waste water will escape  to the floor ,the front desk woman whom work in the morning rude and lake of social skills and customer service.this place as heard own by indian Asian  family ,but overall  i had unpleasant experiences .if i ever 
Go back to williamsport i will never book at this terrible so called ,,beat western,,

We were given a room that was not fit for guests - broken refrigerator and phone, not re-stocked with soap and water cups.

There was also, no information in the room to remind you of what the hotel offered in the way of amenities, or what any of the channels were on the tv.
