(I wasn't upset so much that the water heater was broken - these things happen).

There was also a urine like smell coming from the AC unit when it would turn on.

The hallway on our floor did not seem to have air-conditioning.

Even with the tv on and the heater fan set on continuously ON, the shaft noise drove us nuts.

but he declared the HVAC no good as well.

Also, the cover of the air conditioning/heating unit was falling off (we tried to put it back on

In the elevator, one of the hand rails had broken off and someone just covered the sticking out part with duct tape.

The hand rail in one of the elevators had been taken off and duct tape covered the broken areas.

Rail in the elevator is broken and covered with raggedy duct tape…air conditioner unit in our room has broken panel…ceiling in hallway was actively leaking and showed signs of repeated water damage.

The only complaint we had was the pullout couch was situated next to the air conditioner.

There was also no fan in the bathroom and large patches of black mold on the ceiling.

The room was dated, and the air conditioning unit was noisy the whole night.

The a/c unit had a broken piece on the bottom and the bathroom had a stain on the ceiling as well as a loose faucet.

Plus, I could never get the air conditioner/heater to work, so my room was hot.

The only problem we experienced was the heating unit.

The HVAC unit became louder as the night wore on to the point sleep was impossible.

We are NOT fans of the tiny plastic bottles and wish Hilton would start addressing this problem.

I'll also pass on that a number of the staff, both at the desk and breakfast area, do their job well.

There is a nice Hampton Inn breakfast area as well as a nice indoor pool.

Pros: The breakfast was good and the employees are generally pleasant.

Plenty of delicious pancakes houses and local restaurants near by 

The Good: 
The staff at the front desk was very attentive to our needs.

The staff is excellent, especially the breakfast staff.

Breakfast offered a good variety and was free, which is always nice.

One reason we choose Hampton Inns is the free hot breakfast.

The good: great location, quiet, free breakfast, lots of hot water.

It has been renovated and the breakfast upgraded.

Also, breakfast bar was much poorer than normal, no bathtub stopper, no batteries in the safe, old beds.

The morning breakfast was good as far as hotel breakfast goes and the staff worked very hard to keep it stocked and to keep tables clean.

Breakfast was what you would expect at a HamptonInn..hot and cold choices..Very Good!

Breakfast was above average with a few extras not always provided at Hampton Inns.

The breakfast buffet includes a lot of choices.

Staff was friendly and breakfast was standard Hampton Inn fare.

Breakfast was hot and fresh even with the power out.

By the way the bacon was crisp and all the food was fresh.

Breakfast was same as all the hampton's we've visited.

Location is on a quiet street walking distance to Colonial Williamsburg.

The location is close to Colonial Williamsburg and easy to get to from interstate highway.

Although it was not in walking distance of Colonial Williamsburg, it was close enough.

Here's why:
1) Very close to Colonial Williamsburg.

We loved the closeness to colonial Williamsburg.

This motel is close to Colonial Williamsburg Visitor's Center.

Located close to Colonial Williamsburg, so close you could walk it if a footpath or trail could be made through the woods.

When looking for a hotel we wanted one that had good reviews, was close to Colonial Williamsburg, was not too expensive, and had breakfast included.

The location is great so close from colonial Williamsburg.

Stayed here for 5 nights, hotel is centrally located to Colonial Williamsburg and close to I-64.

No notes on the front door or front desk and definitely no verbal warning from the same front desk staff during check-in.

but it is not the best and has a sketchy motel right next door, so this was off putting.

The closet door was broken and that was the only full lengthy mirror.

but we heard no noise unless someone was outside our door.

There was "graffiti" (for lack of a better word) on the door and on the wall in the elevator.

Second, the elevator door is very aggressive.

They gave me 2 small garbage bags which would only fit one towel each, so we just piled them up outside the door.

The door was super sticky and didn't shut.

Our room had no lock on the bathroom door, the decor is outdated, the beds are springy and uncomfortable, the pillows have no substance to them, our room’s carpet was damp and they wouldn’t switch our room, and the TV is so outdated.

None of the housekeeping staff wears a mask while walking the halls or cleaning the rooms, yet they stick a “sanitized” sticker on the door like it means something.

Poeple at the hotel next door came over for breakfast and uses the dumpster.

but we were given extra bags upon request to leave rubbage and dirty towels outside door.

In other locations, the maid drop those on the door on daily basis, a bag consists of towels and toiletries , and extra bags for trash/dirty towels.

A large pile of dirty towels was outside our door the entire stay reminding us that management at this location wasn’t really up to normal standards.

Our room had a sanitized seal on the door.

I had a sticker on my door like a seal that I thought was overkill

Hanging mirror/ door for closet was missing.

Door to the room was difficult to shut as locking mechanism did not like to disengage.

FYI we paid $180 nightly (VT football weekend) to listen to a barking dog next door.

Now, there were some little cosmetic things (the desk chair was a bit worn & the closet door needs some hinge work.

The good:

Conveniently located in the heart of Williamsburg it is a great place to stay for families.

I would also be very curious to know if the seemingly lower quality toiletries than the standard Hilton Neutrogena in the room is a switch all Hamptons will be adopting or if it is a cost saving measure at this location.

This hotel is in a great location just off the interstate for easy access to Busch Gardens, Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown Settlement and William & Mary.

Staff are very helpful and it is in a very convenient location.

We booked two rooms here for 3 nights while visiting Colonial Williamsburg right after Christmas and had a great stay -- the rooms were clean, spacious, comfortable beds, and each had a fridge and microwave.

The Ugly: 

We booked this hotel since our team was staying here.

The hotel is perfectly adequate for a base to visit Williamsburg.The staff are welcoming and everything was very clean .Good selection of restaurants nearby within walking distance.Williamsburg gets very bust especially at night .

We arrived in the evening, around 7, and were well greeted by the front desk staff who just took our credit card and passed on our key.

Our room was very clean and the front desk was very nice.

Sadly, maintenance and desk staff were good.

Staff treatment was less than professional.

They were very courteous, kind, and helpful.

The desk clerk was able to transfer it so we could use the payment we'd already made to stay the night.

The tap (and shower) water never gets cold, so cooling off after a hot day at Busch Gardens wasn't an option.

Carpet not vacuumed, rust from HVAC unit on floor, yellow oooz from HVAC unit, looked like black mold on both walls of HVAC unit!

I woke up a couple times because the air conditioning was too cold

When  I woke up the next morning very stuffy sinus which made me think possible mold or mildew that bothered my sinuses.

Our room overlooked a rooftop air-contidtioning unit - horrible view.

Only down side was every time air conditioning in room kicked on the noise woke me up.

The air conditioner fan was very noisy and would only operate on high speed.

We requested a room change after our first night because our AC was not working properly.

however, my room was still not available so they ended up switching my room (not at my request).

Elevators where a little scary ,  made weird sounds and bangs when in unit

but the bathroom wasn't as clean as it should've been, and the room smelled like the air conditioner unit could use a good cleaning.

The air conditioner didn't work in the living room, had to get maintenance.

The a/c is noisy and because of the configuration with built-ins, there is no way to block the light from signs and streetlights at night.

You could see dust stuck on the ceiling where the fan had been running.

The building is a little older and could use some updates, older doors, kind of noisy air unit in room,

I turned the air conditioner up as soon as we got settled in the room to help remove the humidity in the room hoping that would get rid of the smell while we were out for the day, which it did.

Old fashioned air conditioner that goes off and on all night and the hotel is next door to an old abandoned hotel.

Air conditioning wasn't working and the room smelled 'musty'.

Breakfast was good with a variety of items on menu.

The breakfast is your standard Hampton Inn breakfast.

The breakfast was good and the area was clean.

Lobby and breakfast area has been nicely refurbished.

The registration desk bent over backwards to accommodate our desire to have a ground floor room, finding one which was very convenient to both parking and the complimentary breakfast area.

The hotel was serving the “pre Covid” style Hampton inn breakfast and it was wonderful.

You walk into a greatroom with full kitchen, breakfast bar, and living room.

It is close to all the attractions, the tour of Jamestown and Yorktown (don't miss that, it's fantastic) and to Busch Gardens (lots of fun) and Colonial Williamsburg (awesome!).

We were only 15ish minutes from Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg was right down the street from us.

Hotel was super clean , friendly staff , good location to Busch gardens and good price.

This hotel was in a good location - easy access (15 minutes or less) to Busch Gardens, Colonial Williamsburg, and Jamestown Settlement.

We took our staff to Busch Gardens for the night and we chose the Hampton on Richmond for our hotel.

We stayed here for our Busch gardens trip and only took us 15-20 min to get there.

end result, we ARE GOING to enjoy our gracious complimentary tickets to Busch Gardens this weekend (from a company that respects and cares for military and veterans above and beyond the call of normal business protocol) and we ARE staying at a HILTON hotel,

This property is very nice and in the heart of all there is to do in Williamsburg from visiting Busch Gardens to William and Mary to Colonial Williamsburg.

The hotel was well kept and clean , the staff was friendly and accommodating & the location suited our needs perfectly being so close to Colonial Williamsburg & Busch Gardens.

Also very easy to get to Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, and Water Country.

Perfect stay to visit Busch Gardens and Water Country USA..close to everything(food, attractions, store outlets) and you even get free hot breakfast in the morning!room was spacious and beds were comfortable.

The rooms are clean, the complimentary breakfast is fantastic, the complimentary internet is just fine!

It's also a great value, with free breakfast, wifi and parking and competitive rates.

The staff was friendly and accommodating, the room was clean, and the free breakfast was good.

The free breakfast was nice, they had good scrambled eggs, Canadian bacon, my daughter loved the smoothies.

I was impressed with the complimentary breakfast and the space in the lobby area made it possible to play board games and relax with my family without piling into someone's hotel room.

My stay here at Hampton Inns & Suites was a great stay the rooms and the entire hotel was clean , the staff was very friendly and helpful and the complimentary breakfast was delicious.

The hotel was clean, well furnished, staff was top notch and the complimentary breakfast that we had on Thursday was the best hotel complimentary breakfast I can remember.

I chose this location due to the closeness to the Sentara medical center, and availability of restaurant choices along Richmond Rd. My room was clean with a lot of amenities ( microwave, fridge, ironing board, hair dryer etc.)
