(I wasn't upset so much that the water heater was broken - these things happen).

There was also a urine like smell coming from the AC unit when it would turn on.

The hallway on our floor did not seem to have air-conditioning.

Even with the tv on and the heater fan set on continuously ON, the shaft noise drove us nuts.

but he declared the HVAC no good as well.

Also, the cover of the air conditioning/heating unit was falling off (we tried to put it back on

In the elevator, one of the hand rails had broken off and someone just covered the sticking out part with duct tape.

The hand rail in one of the elevators had been taken off and duct tape covered the broken areas.

Rail in the elevator is broken and covered with raggedy duct tape…air conditioner unit in our room has broken panel…ceiling in hallway was actively leaking and showed signs of repeated water damage.

The only complaint we had was the pullout couch was situated next to the air conditioner.

There was also no fan in the bathroom and large patches of black mold on the ceiling.

The room was dated, and the air conditioning unit was noisy the whole night.

The a/c unit had a broken piece on the bottom and the bathroom had a stain on the ceiling as well as a loose faucet.

Plus, I could never get the air conditioner/heater to work, so my room was hot.

The only problem we experienced was the heating unit.

The HVAC unit became louder as the night wore on to the point sleep was impossible.

We are NOT fans of the tiny plastic bottles and wish Hilton would start addressing this problem.

I'll also pass on that a number of the staff, both at the desk and breakfast area, do their job well.

There is a nice Hampton Inn breakfast area as well as a nice indoor pool.

Pros: The breakfast was good and the employees are generally pleasant.

Plenty of delicious pancakes houses and local restaurants near by 

The Good: 
The staff at the front desk was very attentive to our needs.

The staff is excellent, especially the breakfast staff.

Breakfast offered a good variety and was free, which is always nice.

One reason we choose Hampton Inns is the free hot breakfast.

The good: great location, quiet, free breakfast, lots of hot water.

It has been renovated and the breakfast upgraded.

Also, breakfast bar was much poorer than normal, no bathtub stopper, no batteries in the safe, old beds.

The morning breakfast was good as far as hotel breakfast goes and the staff worked very hard to keep it stocked and to keep tables clean.

Breakfast was what you would expect at a HamptonInn..hot and cold choices..Very Good!

Breakfast was above average with a few extras not always provided at Hampton Inns.

The breakfast buffet includes a lot of choices.

Staff was friendly and breakfast was standard Hampton Inn fare.

Breakfast was hot and fresh even with the power out.

By the way the bacon was crisp and all the food was fresh.

Breakfast was same as all the hampton's we've visited.

Although it was not in walking distance of Colonial Williamsburg, it was close enough.

Here's why:
1) Very close to Colonial Williamsburg.

We loved the closeness to colonial Williamsburg.

This motel is close to Colonial Williamsburg Visitor's Center.

Located close to Colonial Williamsburg, so close you could walk it if a footpath or trail could be made through the woods.

When looking for a hotel we wanted one that had good reviews, was close to Colonial Williamsburg, was not too expensive, and had breakfast included.

The location is great so close from colonial Williamsburg.

Stayed here for 5 nights, hotel is centrally located to Colonial Williamsburg and close to I-64.

No notes on the front door or front desk and definitely no verbal warning from the same front desk staff during check-in.

but it is not the best and has a sketchy motel right next door, so this was off putting.

The closet door was broken and that was the only full lengthy mirror.

but we heard no noise unless someone was outside our door.

There was "graffiti" (for lack of a better word) on the door and on the wall in the elevator.

Second, the elevator door is very aggressive.

They gave me 2 small garbage bags which would only fit one towel each, so we just piled them up outside the door.

The door was super sticky and didn't shut.

Our room had no lock on the bathroom door, the decor is outdated, the beds are springy and uncomfortable, the pillows have no substance to them, our room’s carpet was damp and they wouldn’t switch our room, and the TV is so outdated.

None of the housekeeping staff wears a mask while walking the halls or cleaning the rooms, yet they stick a “sanitized” sticker on the door like it means something.

Poeple at the hotel next door came over for breakfast and uses the dumpster.

but we were given extra bags upon request to leave rubbage and dirty towels outside door.

In other locations, the maid drop those on the door on daily basis, a bag consists of towels and toiletries , and extra bags for trash/dirty towels.

A large pile of dirty towels was outside our door the entire stay reminding us that management at this location wasn’t really up to normal standards.

Our room had a sanitized seal on the door.

I had a sticker on my door like a seal that I thought was overkill

Hanging mirror/ door for closet was missing.

Door to the room was difficult to shut as locking mechanism did not like to disengage.

FYI we paid $180 nightly (VT football weekend) to listen to a barking dog next door.

Now, there were some little cosmetic things (the desk chair was a bit worn & the closet door needs some hinge work.

The good:

This was only our 3rd experience with a bed and breakfast, and we totally enjoyed this place.

We have visited numerous bed and breakfasts in several cities; it is our favorite way to travel!

My husband & I stayed here for our anniversary weekend (we like to go to historical places) and I have to say, this was by FAR the best bed and breakfast we have ever stayed in.

My husband and I had the opportunity for a short vacation in Williamsburg and chose to stay at John and Debbie's beautiful bed and breakfast.

The owners are fantastic and run an excellent bed and breakfast.

This is our first time at this Bed& Breakfast and it did not disappoint.

Gorgeous bed and breakfast, phenomenal owners, great food served every morning, and perfect location in Williamsburg.

Absolutely adored this charming bed and breakfast nestled in the heart of “tribe country.” The location couldn’t be more perfect for exploration of colonial Williamsburg, William and Mary, and other attractions such as Busch gardens!

Just left this morning and wished we could have stayed longer at the Williamsburg White House Bed and Breakfast.

A Williamsburg White House Bed & Breakfast was our very 1st B&B experience, and it couldn't have been better!

Room was amazing, we enjoyed great breakfasts in the themed rooms with fellow guests, everything was very clean and our hosts were so warm, knowledgeable, and fun.

Our room and the common areas were beautifully furnished and adorned with many historic photos and quips.

Our room — the FDR — was spacious and very comfortable, adorned with historic publications and photos.

We ate in the main dining room with six other guests both mornings and enjoyed the casual discussions, topics both current and historical, with couples from states other than ours.

We would highly recommend staying a A Williamsburg Whitehouse while visiting this beautiful historic town.

The main common rooms are beautiful and historic.

We enjoyed the historic White House and presidential theme, it really made for a unique setting inside and out.

John and Debby welcomed us to their historic home with genuine warmth and hospitality while observing the precautions necessary to keep guests safe during the COVID era.

The location of the White House is only about a 10 minute walk from historic Williamsburg and multiple great dining spots.

The historic nature of the house and the presidential touches are both enjoyable and fun for anyone with a sense of humor.

The Inn is right cross the street from historic William and Mary College.

The hotel is perfectly located to the historic part of the town and opposite the very pretty William & Mary University.

Across from Willam and Mary and close to the historic district.

Easily walkable to restaurants and historic Williamsburg.

Great location for visiting the historic area or William and Mary University.

Room was very nice - old historic charm and hosts were very helpful, friendly and very accommodating.

The location is absolutely perfect being only a short walk to the historical area and across the street from William and Mary College.

A beautiful home, reflective of the historic area, was within easy driving distance of Jamestown and Yorktown.

We knocked, and then one of the group saw a mailbox for "dignitaries" and their key was in the box, so we entered the B & B, thinking we'd see the owners.

but our key was waiting for us with a note outside.

While giving us the 3 different keys to our lodgings, she chided us about what key was for which lock, and how to treat each one, warning us we would be locked out if we didn't learn correctly. Really?

We made the mistake of not remembering that check in is between 3 and 6 and so when we arrived our keys were in a letter box with a letter.

Since we were arriving on Thanksgiving day they were able to leave the keys for our room in their "arriving dignitaries" box so we could get settled in before we went to Colonial  Williamsburg for our Thanksgiving dinner.

We were given a short tour, shown how to use the two keys that we were given, offered a glass of wine and left to settle in.

but when we returned after dinner it had been locked in a way that was impossible to open without prior instructions.

When you return it will be locked and you will not know how to unlock the door.

Our arrival found the door locked and the hosts unavailable until 3pm ( we waited 15 minutes on a bench outside in the gardens).

So when we do get away, relaxation is key.

I think this is something the owners can work on, along with giving guests some control of the temperature in their rooms and maybe adding a mattress pad or something to make the beds more comfy and splurging on Charmin.

There were no issues with the temperature of the room.

Heat was forced hot air, and more than enough for my small room, to the point where I had to open every window all night to moderate the temperature.

It’s not a warm place; either in temperature or in temperament.

The room was comfortable, only downfall is trying to regulate temperature since the thermostat couldn't be placed in the individual rooms,

My wife and I didn't get sleep the first two nights due to a combination of the guests upstairs and the temperature in the room.

The only negative to our stay was the temperature in our room.

At first it was a little hot in the room (no in room temp control)

So after bearing a night of heat so intense it was unbearable - again because the warning that we were not allowed to alter the temperature.

The room we were in was very nice, The television was very small and, unfortunately, we were not able to control the temperature in the room.

It's also worth noting that guests have no control over the temperature in their rooms.

My only drawback was not being able to adjust the temperature in our room.

My only complaint with our visit is that we had problems with the temperature in our room both nights, and had to request that the heat be turned up.

The afternoon wine and light snacks gave all the guests time to mingle and get to know each other.

Enjoyed complimentary wine in the evening.

We enjoyed happy hour each evening with wine and baked goods provided by the innkeepers.

We loved the late afternoon baked treats with the wine and port in the reception room.

The evening wine was a nice touch, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious.

We loved the early evening wine and snacks as well!

Debbie and John's attention to detail from the daily wine and sweets in the parlor to the impeccably kept gardens shows their passion for their business.

Breakfast was delicious and the late afternoon wine was a nice chance to wind down after a busy day.

The communal sitting room has an open fire and complimentary biscuits & wine.

The common spaces are very cozy and we enjoyed the afternoon wine along with the delicious baked goods that were provided.

In the evenings we would sit by the fireplace and Xmas tree and drink some lovely wine (provided by our hosts) before we went to dinner.

Fresh cookies and wine are available afternoons, in addition to well stocked candy dishes throughout the inn (yum!).

Found the location to be easy access for Colonial Williamsburg touring and my favorite lunch spot the Williamsburg Cheese Shop! At the inn EVENING WINE Reception Vaccinated travelers (currently do not require masks!)

The stay included afternoon wine and cookies - a great combination - as well as a sit down breakfast.

We were greeted with wine, chocolate and pastries.

The brownies and wine were a nice complement to our indoctrination of the property.

There is also a nice wine and snack available each afternoon.

The wine and port available downstairs, and dessert snack, each day were a special touch!

There’s another well decorated room with a fireplace that must be nice on cold evenings and where they serve wine and a small treat in the evening.

Our last night we wanted to play cards and John nicely set out some wine for us.
