(I wasn't upset so much that the water heater was broken - these things happen).

There was also a urine like smell coming from the AC unit when it would turn on.

The hallway on our floor did not seem to have air-conditioning.

Even with the tv on and the heater fan set on continuously ON, the shaft noise drove us nuts.

but he declared the HVAC no good as well.

Also, the cover of the air conditioning/heating unit was falling off (we tried to put it back on

In the elevator, one of the hand rails had broken off and someone just covered the sticking out part with duct tape.

The hand rail in one of the elevators had been taken off and duct tape covered the broken areas.

Rail in the elevator is broken and covered with raggedy duct tape…air conditioner unit in our room has broken panel…ceiling in hallway was actively leaking and showed signs of repeated water damage.

The only complaint we had was the pullout couch was situated next to the air conditioner.

There was also no fan in the bathroom and large patches of black mold on the ceiling.

The room was dated, and the air conditioning unit was noisy the whole night.

The a/c unit had a broken piece on the bottom and the bathroom had a stain on the ceiling as well as a loose faucet.

Plus, I could never get the air conditioner/heater to work, so my room was hot.

The only problem we experienced was the heating unit.

The HVAC unit became louder as the night wore on to the point sleep was impossible.

We are NOT fans of the tiny plastic bottles and wish Hilton would start addressing this problem.

I'll also pass on that a number of the staff, both at the desk and breakfast area, do their job well.

There is a nice Hampton Inn breakfast area as well as a nice indoor pool.

Pros: The breakfast was good and the employees are generally pleasant.

Plenty of delicious pancakes houses and local restaurants near by 

The Good: 
The staff at the front desk was very attentive to our needs.

The staff is excellent, especially the breakfast staff.

Breakfast offered a good variety and was free, which is always nice.

One reason we choose Hampton Inns is the free hot breakfast.

The good: great location, quiet, free breakfast, lots of hot water.

It has been renovated and the breakfast upgraded.

Also, breakfast bar was much poorer than normal, no bathtub stopper, no batteries in the safe, old beds.

The morning breakfast was good as far as hotel breakfast goes and the staff worked very hard to keep it stocked and to keep tables clean.

Breakfast was what you would expect at a HamptonInn..hot and cold choices..Very Good!

Breakfast was above average with a few extras not always provided at Hampton Inns.

The breakfast buffet includes a lot of choices.

Staff was friendly and breakfast was standard Hampton Inn fare.

Breakfast was hot and fresh even with the power out.

By the way the bacon was crisp and all the food was fresh.

Breakfast was same as all the hampton's we've visited.

No notes on the front door or front desk and definitely no verbal warning from the same front desk staff during check-in.

but it is not the best and has a sketchy motel right next door, so this was off putting.

The closet door was broken and that was the only full lengthy mirror.

but we heard no noise unless someone was outside our door.

There was "graffiti" (for lack of a better word) on the door and on the wall in the elevator.

Second, the elevator door is very aggressive.

They gave me 2 small garbage bags which would only fit one towel each, so we just piled them up outside the door.

The door was super sticky and didn't shut.

Our room had no lock on the bathroom door, the decor is outdated, the beds are springy and uncomfortable, the pillows have no substance to them, our room’s carpet was damp and they wouldn’t switch our room, and the TV is so outdated.

None of the housekeeping staff wears a mask while walking the halls or cleaning the rooms, yet they stick a “sanitized” sticker on the door like it means something.

Poeple at the hotel next door came over for breakfast and uses the dumpster.

but we were given extra bags upon request to leave rubbage and dirty towels outside door.

In other locations, the maid drop those on the door on daily basis, a bag consists of towels and toiletries , and extra bags for trash/dirty towels.

A large pile of dirty towels was outside our door the entire stay reminding us that management at this location wasn’t really up to normal standards.

Our room had a sanitized seal on the door.

I had a sticker on my door like a seal that I thought was overkill

Hanging mirror/ door for closet was missing.

Door to the room was difficult to shut as locking mechanism did not like to disengage.

FYI we paid $180 nightly (VT football weekend) to listen to a barking dog next door.

Now, there were some little cosmetic things (the desk chair was a bit worn & the closet door needs some hinge work.

I just had a banana; my husband was satisfied with the pre-packaged breakfast sandwiches.

Breakfast- Our first time here we were amazed by the breakfast, great food, offerings, etc.

The breakfast is good and satisfying and the rooms have always been clean.

The expanded continental breakfast was nice

If the food were of better quality, it might have been edible.

It is a good value if you get the free passes and enjoy the above average free hotel breakfast.

The staff responded to an issue immediately, everyone was friendly, it was clean and they had gluten free options for breakfast.

The breakfast consists of breads, muffins, bagels, berries or melon in cups,cereal, hard boiled eggs that were questionable, and some DISGUSTING coffee.

The free continental breakfast was full of basic fruits, bagels, coffee, and Breakfast sandwiches.

Internet worthless, shuttle does not stop at hotel, breakfast was ok, coffee was good, overall not a good value for the price

Jennifer at the front desk was warm and welcoming, and the breakfast was very extensive.

Pool was warm and refreshing, food at breakfast was delicious and meeting room set up was easy and personal.

Bathrooms are old and in desperate need of updates.

The rooms need updated  and  breakfast was not very good.

Then there are the negatives: This hotel *desperately* needs maintenance and updates.

The grounds had so much to do for a family from pool and splash pad to air hockey tables, cornhole, putt putt… The bed was very hard and the room could use an update,

The rooms were small and outdated---they felt dingy and dirty.

This place needs major renovations, felt like I was staying at a budget hotel and getting ripped off on the cost.

It could use refurbishing in the bathroom and new carpet.

Room was somewhat dingy and outdated and made it feel dirty.

The hotel rooms are past due for an update.

I will say that the décor was a bit outdated and tired and could use a refresh,

The gym could use some updates and the alarm clock in the room had USB ports,

It is in serious need of a deep cleaning and renovations.

When brought up to the front desk, we were told, well, there was going to be a remodel,

While the towels could use an update and there were a couple issues with the bathroom, our overall stay was excellent and we'd go back.

The room itself needed updates and the toilet handle needed to be fixed and the tub didn’t drain.

The hotel has not been updated since it opened and it looks tired.

I would not recommend anyone staying here unit the building is updated.

They should have spent the time updating the rooms.

The peeling paint on the bathroom ceiling and the stains on the carpet indicate the need for renovation.

Otherwise, the rooms are shabby with uncomfortable beds.

but we suffered another painfully uncomfortable night, the second in a row.

The beds had spring mattress and were uncomfortable.

If you are a family and plan to use the sofa bed, beware that the mattress is EXTREMELY uncomfortable.

Shuttle gets so packed at times it is very uncomfortable bordering on unsafe.

The Couch was very very uncomfortable, so we can‘t find sleep.

We had a two twin bed room and both beds we so uncomfortable none of us could sleep.

As a single woman traveling by myself this was somewhat uncomfortable.

However, this year with the very limited hot breakfast, scolding hot/freezing water temperature in the shower, and uncomfortable mattress on the sofa bed, our experience was anything

Also, the "coffee table" in the living room was too tall and had a 1.5" edge all the way round--uncomfortable on the legs when watching TV.

The beds are extremely uncomfortable and squeak loudly every time you move.

The sofa bed in the king suite was very uncomfortable.

The pillows were extremely uncomfortable.

Also the pull out sofa is very uncomfortable, so you wouldn't want to sleep on it for more than one night.

The mattress was completely worn out and very uncomfortable.

One--low, huge, uncomfortable and modern in a colonial room-- was wedged between bed and wall, with no space for even a tiny table to put down a drink or anything else.

The only complaint we had was that the pillows and bed were uncomfortable and there was no microwave.

We found the beds to be very uncomfortable and the rooms could use a little sprucing up,

The tap (and shower) water never gets cold, so cooling off after a hot day at Busch Gardens wasn't an option.

Additionally, the bathroom had no exhaust fan.

Carpet not vacuumed, rust from HVAC unit on floor, yellow oooz from HVAC unit, looked like black mold on both walls of HVAC unit!

There was a large gap around the doorway & there was cold air coming from the ac unit by the window.

I woke up a couple times because the air conditioning was too cold

but rooms were nice minus the AC unit that was incredibly loud and disturbed our sleep.

although we had dust from the heating system on the toilet, including the seat.

The desks and wall unit had scratches and there was dust on the window pane.

Also, the exhaust fan in the bathroom is SO dusty like it hadn’t been cleaned in a year!

AC didn’t work very well and had to be repaired by maintenance and still didn’t work properly.

Expecting the A/C to work, it did not and by 2am it was 72.

Our first night the air conditioner didn’t work, room was 75 degrees so we got little sleep.

When  I woke up the next morning very stuffy sinus which made me think possible mold or mildew that bothered my sinuses.

Only down side was every time air conditioning in room kicked on the noise woke me up.

A special thank-you to Eli who searched out a dehumidifier for us when the air conditioning didn't work properly.

The housekeeping staff is very efficient and friendly.

It is clean, safe, and has a free breakfast.

The morning breakfast started early and was great (accept for the light blend coffee…).

Hotel is very dated, and the general smell was not pleasant.

This was definitely during off season time of year (Jan 5/6) and Don’t understand why the room (basic king bed room non smoking) was the last room down a long corridor from elevators where neither ice machine or vending machine ,near the elevator ,was operational.

The floors were sticky and disgusting in the kitchen.

Unfortunately our room had that musty smell.

There was some mold in the shower and it was apparent that there had been a water leak in the ceiling  at some point.

Breakfast was not good- the fruit had a smell as if it was old and it was discolored , the congestion in the kitchen area was very heavy and there were no clear ways to get to things without waiting or bumping into to folks.

Negatives the musty smell, hard bed, and visible wear everywhere - ceilings, furniture, fixtures etc.

I did notice the first floor had a strong smell, I think from the pool.

There was an odour when entering the room due, I guess, to the humidity.

My second complaint is that the room  smelled like mold.

Upon checking out showed pictures of mold on ceiling and was told sorry have a nice day.

room 214,235 dirty walls need cleaning, evidence of insect problems (odor, pesticide residue) demolition of adjacent property not a good sign.

Our only complaint was the moldy musty smell in our room and no table or easy chair was provided.

Room was amazing, we enjoyed great breakfasts in the themed rooms with fellow guests, everything was very clean and our hosts were so warm, knowledgeable, and fun.

Breakfast was delicious, both mornings we had time to partake.

Beautiful setting, wonderful accommodations, delicious breakfasts.

The breakfast was amazing each morning with different choices each day.

The breakfasts each morning were first class.

From well appointed rooms, fantastic hospitality from the owners, delicious breakfast each morning and an amazing library…this is a special gem of a property located within walking distance of Market Square.

We met the nicest guests at breakfast who had traveled to the Inn from as far away as Ireland and Canada.

Breakfast was very filling, have to sign up for a slot the previous evening.

The breakfasts were wonderful and we met some very nice & interesting people.

The breakfasts are delicious and meticulously placed upon each plate.

This B&B is old, beautiful,  well maintained, very clean and each morning served a delicious breakfast.

The breakfast each morning was excellent and it was a nice time to chat with the other tourists at the house.

The theme was great, everything was clean, the home was BEAUTIFUL, breakfast was always amazing, and the owners are the kindest couple.

We knocked, and then one of the group saw a mailbox for "dignitaries" and their key was in the box, so we entered the B & B, thinking we'd see the owners.

but our key was waiting for us with a note outside.

While giving us the 3 different keys to our lodgings, she chided us about what key was for which lock, and how to treat each one, warning us we would be locked out if we didn't learn correctly. Really?

We made the mistake of not remembering that check in is between 3 and 6 and so when we arrived our keys were in a letter box with a letter.

Since we were arriving on Thanksgiving day they were able to leave the keys for our room in their "arriving dignitaries" box so we could get settled in before we went to Colonial  Williamsburg for our Thanksgiving dinner.

We were given a short tour, shown how to use the two keys that we were given, offered a glass of wine and left to settle in.

but when we returned after dinner it had been locked in a way that was impossible to open without prior instructions.

When you return it will be locked and you will not know how to unlock the door.

Our arrival found the door locked and the hosts unavailable until 3pm ( we waited 15 minutes on a bench outside in the gardens).

So when we do get away, relaxation is key.

I think this is something the owners can work on, along with giving guests some control of the temperature in their rooms and maybe adding a mattress pad or something to make the beds more comfy and splurging on Charmin.

There were no issues with the temperature of the room.

Heat was forced hot air, and more than enough for my small room, to the point where I had to open every window all night to moderate the temperature.

It’s not a warm place; either in temperature or in temperament.

The room was comfortable, only downfall is trying to regulate temperature since the thermostat couldn't be placed in the individual rooms,

My wife and I didn't get sleep the first two nights due to a combination of the guests upstairs and the temperature in the room.

The only negative to our stay was the temperature in our room.

At first it was a little hot in the room (no in room temp control)

So after bearing a night of heat so intense it was unbearable - again because the warning that we were not allowed to alter the temperature.

The room we were in was very nice, The television was very small and, unfortunately, we were not able to control the temperature in the room.

It's also worth noting that guests have no control over the temperature in their rooms.

My only drawback was not being able to adjust the temperature in our room.

My only complaint with our visit is that we had problems with the temperature in our room both nights, and had to request that the heat be turned up.
