Spotless hotel and Goes is a lovely little town

The rooms were clean and extremely well designed (furniture and lightning), and ooh: very spacious!

The cleanliness of the place is impeccable and the staff very attentive.

Bedrooms are clean and well presented and people are very nice.

Smooth service, neat, very clean and extremely quiet rooms, frictionless wifi, and on top an allright breakfast in the welcoming inhouse brasserie.

this is a lovely hotel and the staff are fantastic.

We particularly like the sympathetic restoration and the attention to detail.

Service is excellent, especially at the front-desk.

Once located, the hotel staff were helpful in showing us the multi-storey car park which they pay for.

To give my review some context, In all the years I’ve stayed there, eating breakfasts, lunches and evening meals I have NEVER sent food back or complained about the quality of the food.

Dinner in the restaurant especially the Saturday night buffet was excellent for choice and quality and breakfast was again excellent.

A wide selection of breakfast foods (except for sausages, which are boiled not fried).

We booked the Buffet meal for the Friday night and that was great too with  lots to choose from.

The Saturday dinner buffet was also quite good and tasty with a great variety of dishes.

Both our evening meal and breakfast was excellent.

The only positive is the comfortable bed and clean linen.

but in was very impressed at the size and cleanliness of the room.

Visited on business in the local area, nice very clean hotel, outstanding breakfast local to the motorway.

The hotel was extremly well presented and the room spotlessly clean.

Check in was efficient and friendly, the room was warm, spacious and clean.

but said he cannot deduct the steak from my bill due to the extensive notes in front of him.

Some tables could not be used due to dinner reservations. Awkward.

During the winter season the road noise (due to no natural sound barrier) can be a bit loud.

the food served at the restaurant is very poor due to bad preparation by the cooks.

Had I had more recreational time this hotel would not have been ideal due to the isolated location.

Over the years I have built up some good relationships with some of the staff at the hotel who really have been courteous and friendly to both my Son and I.

The food is excellent and this time we stayed in one of the 2 Suites available for our 2 week visit to Zeeland.

I travel the globe quite regularly and one of my favourite meals is spare ribs.

Breakfast is always great here and we have eaten in the restaurant a few times which is very good.

The meals are first-class and the staff make you feel like family.

We stayed this visit for 15 days and ate a number of times with friends and colleagues at the Restaurant and ALL meals were wonderful and very reasonably priced.

Were initially surprised that the in-house restaurant is shut on Saturdays

Order a meal at night, we did and it was superb, as well as the service!

but the rooms are small and the accessories are poor.

The staff all make us feel soooo welcome and comfortable.

As the airco was very efficient this was never a problem.

Susan and her wonderful staff became more like family then just another Business / Recreation visit to a hotel.

but this was very much compensated by the proximity to the station and the helpfulness of the hotel staff.

Luckily the bedrooms were at opposite ends of the suite, allowing for privacy.

The staff and management were very friendly, kind and professional and went out of their way to help with anything we needed.

The staff at check-in and in the restaurant were all incredibly friendly and helpful.

At first I could not see a reception area when we arrived at around 9.00 pm  so walked into the bar and a friendly chap checked us in which was very quick.

Staff were most accommodating and friendly.

Also, as the basin and shower are 'open' (ie  no door) on dark mornings you would need to put a light on which could disturb a partner if they were still sleeping unless you showered together.

but everyone else were very angry in the morning and had very little sleep.

The hotel has a swimming pool and sauna and steam bath, ideal for a relaxing time.

We had the spa (sauna and hammam) for ourselves 👍
Breakfast was OK.
We enjoyed our stay and certainly recommend it.

The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices and the ambiance throughout the hotel and bar and restaurant were fantastic as was the pool and sauna area.

The steam train is well worth a visit with a small museum with tickets purchased in a former goods shed

While it was a bit unconventional to check and check out in the bar, the staff was just as professional as any staff behind the front desk at a nice hotel.

The hotel rooms at the back of the hotel are an afterthought, including for the staff who work there.

Goes is a very lively town specially in summer.

If you like quaint market towns then this hotel is ideal for you

We were able to get a direct train from Schiedam (near Rotterdam) which had come from Amsterdam originally and will happily return to visit Middelburg for a bit longer as all the towns we visited had so much character and well worth a longer stay.

Next time I am in town, I will make my entire reservation at this hotel.

It is a lovely little town with yacht harbour and ideallly situated to discover the rest of Zeeland.

The location in the centre of town in itself is okay,

We had never been to this corner or the Netherlands before and found it so easy to get to by train.

We didn't find any heating device in the bathroom, so it was rather cold in the morning.

Perhaps a shame they haven't built a covered walkway between the two buildings - we visited in January when the weather was typically bleak, wet and cold.

When we returned from the bike-trip the champagne we had ordered was cold and ready to be served.

The coffee, which was in normal china pot, was almost cold.

but ALWAYS friendly, you never feel out of place (we had forgotten our cloth the the evening .

The staff is very friendly and attentive and the lady of the house will make sure you are very well looked after.

The proprietress couldn't have been nicer or more helpful and all the staff is very friendly as well.

When you arrive the staff are very friendly and helpful, showing you to your room etc.

Nevertheless it is an expensive effort so you know where your money goes.

The only reason I cannot rate it a "5" is that there are very limited services (like a gym or a spa or even a bar or restaurant for lunch) that you might expect.

But I can understand the comment of one of reviewer’s about the prices of the wine.

Over my last stay I can be very clear - far too expensive for what it is.

but the bedroom and breakfast are certainly not worth the cost.

While the restaurant is a little drive, it is finally not that far from Antwerp by car (half hour) and does not have its equal in terms of quality of food and service.

Bed linen was not of the highest quality.

And don't expect digital picture quality, alas.

Considering the quality of the food and the service we were wondering why Inter Scaldes has "only" 2 Michelin Stars.

We hope the owners continue running the restaurant this way.

The craftsmanship is visible in every detail, the dinnerware is impeccable, the hospitality shown by the team invites you to relax and enjoy an amazing diner.

Each course was served on matching, specially designed china, the owners, are clearly a great team, he in the kitchen, she in the dining room/manoir.

We were also greeted personally by the owners Claudia and Jannis.

The hotel is beautiful, quiet and the service attentive.

We have been visiting the restaurant for year - it started during the time the restaurant was operated by its previous owners .

I cannot say enough about the way you feel as you drive onto the property--just relaxed and comfortable--and knowing you are in for one of the best meals of your life and most comfortable rooms and taken care of by sweet, caring and very professional people!
