To give my review some context, In all the years I’ve stayed there, eating breakfasts, lunches and evening meals I have NEVER sent food back or complained about the quality of the food.

The breakfast was superb, really value for money!

Dinner in the restaurant especially the Saturday night buffet was excellent for choice and quality and breakfast was again excellent.

You could start breakfast at 6.30 and still be there at 10.

Buffet breakfast is excellent, varied and generous.

but to be expected for a hotel, the breakfast was self service & had plenty of variety, I would recommend the hotel to anyone.

Hotel offers a generous breakfast and has a good restaurant.

Breakfast was extensive, with a good selection of hot and cold food, including eggs cooked to order.

We've been in the Van der Valk because the other places further South were booked out and really liked it: modern rooms, balcony, big breakfast area with lots of choices and a terrace, modern bathrooms, enough parking.. All requirements fulfilled for the same price than some other hotels around.

The restaurant was large and the food very good, for both the evening and for the expansive breakfast buffet.

Breakfast at van der Valk is always good.

The hotel has a Buffet every day from Mon to Fri during lunch time.

Goes VDV is great, not the newest of hotels buy still has big rooms, a lovely shower, nice tv great wifi and a cracking breakfast!

Breakfast was great as well with a wide choice of fresh bread, nuts and fruit.

Unfortunately I have to refer to this Hotel Manager as “her” because when I asked for her name she would not tell me.

but to be accused of lying about the problem (even when the night shift agreed), is very insulting and shows a systematic problem with the management of this hotel.

suddenly the manager popped her head round the wall (literally) and intervened.

So again I had to complain, now the manager showed up and I explained the problem, so now I ordered something else: a Wagyu burger.

To which I replied “I think your customer service is absolutely disgusting” Things went from bad to worse, I tried to record the situation on my mobile phone

When I called the receptionist girl was blunt and as she didn't like what I had to say, put the phone down on me.

but IT took only à small Phone call to have IT fixed.

From breakfast to the rooms, a really good stay!

We took it for 173,— Euro + 37,— Euro breakfast for 2 people.Yes the location is very quiet and clean.

Every time we come to this magnificent city (mostly to visit friends in thr area) we love to stay at this enchanting hotel. The spacious rooms, the delicious breakfast (toast with avocado or serrano b.e.!)

One point: the fruit juices at the breakfast are rather, ehm, chemical.

but we expect more of the breakfast in such an hotel who does a lot of good things to make the differance.

Breakfast is good and so is food at dinner!

The included restaurant was also good with delicious food.

We have had a good breakfast and twice a great dinner.

Breakfast buffet is included in the room rates.

There is also a large terras, nice for breakfast in the morning sun!

Very friendly staff that were more than willing to help us with maps etc Breakfast was a buffet.

Breakfast did not disappoint, a nice selection of Continental options, fresh juice and the choice of Tea or coffee freshly made.

The hotel is brand new, the bed was super comfortable, breakfast was great, and the dinner in the restaurant was also good.

Continental Breakfast was more than enough, kind service from all the people working there, Receptionist listen careful  to some constructive critic.

The room we stayed was spacious and the breakfast (buffet) was delicious.

but the rooms above the restaurant have very thin walls which is a shame if your neighbors are a bit loud.

The walls are very thin, so, there is a lot of noise from your neighbor.

Expect: high ceilings, fresh walls and industrial look.

The breakfast was particularly impressive.

A complementary bottle of water and two pieces of delicious cake were waiting for us.

All the usual breakfast foods – waiter service.

but this one beats them all as far as breakfast is concerned!

We wondered whether we would ever feel ready for breakfast

We went here for a weekend (arriving Saturday; leaving Sunday and having dinner and breakfast). And.

Therefore personally I would have appreciated a full à la carte breakfast to accommodate all guests,

Breakfast was delicious and they will make pretty much anything to order.

BTW, the other review about breakfast being bad.

The down side to the stay was undoubtedly the bedroom and the breakfast.

We didn't find any heating device in the bathroom, so it was rather cold in the morning.

Perhaps a shame they haven't built a covered walkway between the two buildings - we visited in January when the weather was typically bleak, wet and cold.

When we returned from the bike-trip the champagne we had ordered was cold and ready to be served.

The coffee, which was in normal china pot, was almost cold.

Nevertheless it is an expensive effort so you know where your money goes.

The only reason I cannot rate it a "5" is that there are very limited services (like a gym or a spa or even a bar or restaurant for lunch) that you might expect.

But I can understand the comment of one of reviewer’s about the prices of the wine.

Over my last stay I can be very clear - far too expensive for what it is.

but the bedroom and breakfast are certainly not worth the cost.

A glass of orange juice (no choice), a boiled egg (no choice of how long you want it boiled for), a dish of was can only be described as what looked like cold porridge, a plate with cold meat (two small slices each), a plate with some cheese, some smoked salmon, two very large fresh cream cakes, a basket with fresh bread and two small scones.

It is a very basic hotel, small rooms, very small bathroom and (which was a bit annoying during a heat wave) no airconditioning or even a fan.

The heaters are rusty, you can't close the tiny shower cabinet.

We had a small problem with the heating we complained about.

A small TV, coffeemaker, a separate toilet and bathroom.

The room was small with a very small shower/basin room and separate toilet.

The toilet is separated from the shower and wash basin.

The "bathroom" door did not close properly so thank god we were comfortable with seeing each other naked.

Rooms
Rooms are very simple, size is ok and they have attached toilet and a tiny shower (very tiny).

There was no soap or shampoo in the shower either.

The breakfast (included) was more than adequate with a range of breads, cereals, fruits and condiments.

The breakfast buffet was nice with fresh fruits, coffee, tea and tasty bread.

There was a tv though, and wifi, and a tasty breakfast.

The breakfast was nice and there was a lot of choice.

Breakfast had lots of variety ND a great taste.

First, the positive: breakfast is excellent.

We were led past the open kitchen door (which was permanently open for the entire time of our stay)..crates of empty bottles stacked up..then up a very steep spiral staircase.

but it was VERY stinky when you had the door closed.

Breakfast is always great here and we have eaten in the restaurant a few times which is very good.

Only ate breakfast at the Hotel and that was very good.

Superb breakfast with something for everyone - even bacon and scrambled eggs!

Staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast offered a good selection for most tastes.

Very friendly staff who spoke great English; room was very nice with comfortable beds; there was a lift up to the room; the free breakfast was yummy and the choice of food was huge; the location was perfect for a walk into the city centre; bonus of a car park right on the property.

The breakfast the next morning was plenty, with coldcuts, a variety of bread, cereal, fresh fruit and good coffee.

but the rooms are small and the accessories are poor.

A bottle of water would have been welcome.

We all had the 'healthy breakfast' which was a nice start of our day.

The terrace was fabulous and breakfast very generous with a wide range of choices.

We had the spa (sauna and hammam) for ourselves 👍

We enjoyed our stay and certainly recommend it.

The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices and the ambiance throughout the hotel and bar and restaurant were fantastic as was the pool and sauna area.

The breakfast was just as nice as the breakfast at the other hotel, which had a much bigger dining room.

Breakfast is self-service in the bar area, with a choice of hot and cold dishes.

This hotel also provide a complimentary buffet breakfast of good quality.

The rice was served in a cup which it refused to come out of until   coerced with a fork and fell onto the plate in a solid clump.

My stay in mid-August coincided with the funfair occupying the market square which may not be everyone's cup of tea

Also, as the basin and shower are 'open' (ie  no door) on dark mornings you would need to put a light on which could disturb a partner if they were still sleeping unless you showered together.

but everyone else were very angry in the morning and had very little sleep.

Breakfast was nice and parking in the P Centrum parking garage is nearby and at a special rate if you stay in the hotel.

The church is so close and Get noisy everytime the clock rings

but not great and there was absolutely no acknowledgement when we entered the room; and when I asked for some fresh hot items as those on the “hot” plate were cold, I was treated as a nuisance.

We booked a "tiny room", which indeed was tiny.

People did not observe the 1.5m distance and personnel did not enforce it.

Food is delicious and is in a reasonable prize.

Breakfast was tasty in the nearby bakery.

Cons: It's near a church so you will hear the bell ringing.

If you’re a light sleeper, bring earplugs to ignore the church bells.

During the night (Saturday) some drunk (I guess) and noisy men passed under our window.

Undeservedly not on the main tourist itinerary, Goes is an attractive town that merits a stopover.

Unusually a breakfast was provided in the dining room and was excellent.

We were there with 5 couples, (it has 4 rooms and 2 studio's) and everything was OK, nice clean rooms, perfect hosts, good breakfast (also glutenfree) There is a nice room to stay in the evening with a bar, sitting place, internet, pooltable, we felt very much at home.

The apartment was serviced daily with a change of towels and the fittings were of a high quality.
