Nice view overlooking the 400 block, short walking distance to a variety of shops.

The basic room was large and beautiful and overlooked the 400 Block and was great!

Right downtown Wausau only a block or two from the center of the city the 400 block.

all around excellent; parking convenient, location excellent with easy access to lovely 400 block park with bandstand and grand theater nearby, Lucci's, evolutions and downtown grocery nearby, other restaurants businesses on 3rd street are a short walk away, good complimentary breakfast, whitewater park and riverfront within two or three blocks, highly recommended

This hotel is located in the heart of downtown Wausau, very convenient, there is shopping, dinning and the 400 block (very large grass area with a stage for live music & such).

Within walking distance of many restaurants and the 400 block.

Boy- we were glad we decided to stop- We fell in love with the Hotel, Riverwalk and 400 Block Square - we are definitely planning to return.

We were pleasantly surprised by the security feature of having to use your key card to operate the elevator which was done by a simple tap on a sensor.

And these "honor bars" always make me nervous even if I don't touch them, as I feel like I need to make sure for weeks later that I don't get extra charges on my bill, and if I do, it's my word against theirs.

We didn't know at first we had to use our key cards to make the elevator work.

though billed as "continental", it was a full breakfast.

Found using the hotel room card to operate elevator a little cumbersome and getting to pool/exercise area a bit of an adventure trying to navigate the different elevators.

If you give the incorrect cc at time of payment don't try to correct it or your funds will be tied up on both cards.

Even got late check out for no extra charge.

If only New York City hotels had this kind of service and attention to their customers' needs while charging over three times the price!

Also, to avoid extra charges, put the for-a-fee snacks and alcohol into one of the cupboards so no one takes any by mistake.

The parking is a bit of a pain as you have to go across the street to a ramp and there's an additional fee for this on top of the room charge.

Do be sure to bring your own electronic charging units and cords as there are limited outlets and no USB ports in the rooms as of April 2017.

Had to use key card and made things very aggravating!

They upgraded them to a handicapped accessible suite with no up charge.

Improvements I would recommend is to have room card access to the stairs and a quieter room in regards to outdoor noise.

one of the cute ways this hotel makes money is to charge you for wet bar and snacks, which is a complete joke when you consider the price of the room, and the room itself.

The elevator and key cards are a bit of a bother, make sure to ask for specific directions on how they work.

I would have rated them a 5  except for the double billing issue.

charged a 18% tip and order was messed up and waitress never came back to check on us.

Requires inserting card into main elevator (only one, so waits can be long during busy times) and transferring to another down a long, long hallway - and then finding your room.

however is a different story somewhat spread out and difficult to work because of the security card situation it tended to slow me down just a bit.

We rolled our eyes as and grumbled as we got into the elevator after the breakfast system was explained to us at check-in.

So if you have dog that likes to bark when you leave, or barks every time elevator opens or someone walks by your room, think twice before booking stay at Jefferson Street Inn in Wausau.

To get to it you had to go up the main elevator to the fourth floor, then go around the block of rooms down the whole hall to get to the other elevator to get to the 5th floor that was only activated by your room key.

It was a little weird to have to change elevators to get above the 4th floor

It was a bit odd staying on the 5th floor because you have to leave on elevator and go to another to get from the lobby to the 5th floor,

Elevator sitatuation is a little confusing because different ones access different areas.

Better make sure you take the correct elevator because only one of three will get you there.

Not much room in the elevators to lug around equipment.

Also I didn't like that you couldn't get to the 5th floor from the elevator in the lobby.

Only 2 elevators, no stairs to access rooms.

Tip: Make sure to have your key out for the elevator.

The pool was a bit difficult to get to, as you had to take a different elevator.

My only complaint is the one elevator for 400 rooms.

I also had to have my room key reactivated 5 times while there and since you can not even get up to your room on the elevator with out the key I had to go down to the front desk

The main lobby elevator was out the weekend of our visit which made access to our 4th floor room less convenient.

Elevator in lobby was out and no one even mentioned it or apologized for the inconvenience.

Front desk staff was on point and friendly.

During the conference the front desk staff - Megan, Ben, Chris and Krista were friendly and welcoming.

Friendly efficient front desk staff signed us in and explained the parking process to get free parking in the pay lot, the cool restaurants in the area, the comped breakfast, etc.

The entire staff was very friendly and helpful.

The staff in the hotel and restaurant/bar were friendly and very attentive.

Staff was friendly EXCEPT the contract breakfast employee from Ugly Mug.

But, the hotel had a very clean smell to it and there was a blonde housekeeper that was extremely friendly and helped us in our room one of the times we were locked out.

The onsite restraunt really good, staff were super friendly and helpful.

Staff was all friendly, they came to help me within 5 minutes when the fireplace wouldn’t start and called the room when somebody wanted to come up to ensure safety.

After receiving an email confirmation which listed all their Covid safety precautions, we saw several unmasked staff in the lobby walking around guests (one was coughing) and when we  inquired about it, I was simply told “ we forget sometimes”.

The manager greeted us at breakfast and shared the upcoming community events in the area.

The check in person was so helpful telling us about a free concert in the square that we should go see.

Check in lady was nice and the process was quick.

What stood out was the lady at the front desk on the evening of 11/27.

We selected this hotel based on how close it was to The Grand Theater (it was maybe a 5 minute walk).

The City Grill is a great dinner option, and the Grand Theater is a short, safe, well-lit walk away.

Great place to stay if you are attending anything at the Grand Theater which is about 2 short blocks away.

Will stay every time we go the Grand Theater Performances.

Treat yourself to a stay at the Jefferson Inn and an event at the Grand Theater.

We stay here because of the hotels great proximity to the Grand Theater.

Take in a show at the Grand Theater and visit the Woodson Art Museum.

City Grill is on the premises and was a great place to have a nightcap after seeing a concert at the Grand Theater.

Stayed one night while attending a Michael W Smith Concert at the Grand Theater with my wife and daughter (both big fans).

Stayed in a King Luxury Fireplace Suite with Whirlpool for one night while attending a concert at the Grand Theater.

Conveniently located by many shops and just a short walk to the Grand Theater.

The room was very clean and we loved the close proximity to the Grand Theater to stay overnight after the concert we attended.

The room was very clean, very comfortable and had a great view of the park in front of the Grand Theater.

I have stayed at this hotel one other time, about 3 years ago, when I took my kids to a ballet at the Grand Theater.

Love this hotel, staff are accommodating, friendly, and the hotel is very clean and comfortable.

I wish it had more insulation as you could hear people walking the hallway at all hours.

I would recommend requesting a higher floor if you are sensitive to noise, as our room (102) was on the first floor near the side entrance and we could easily hear all footsteps and conversations in the hallway.

There was some late night running in the halls and minor issues in our bathroom.

After what seemed like a longer than necessary check-in experience, she eventually assigned me a room and I carried my bag and other items down the hall only to discover the room door open.

I was two doors down from it and heard every time people got off or on because they would stand by it chatting, or when they came off of it, they would be talking and it would echo down the hall.

The hotel was full the weekend we stayed there, kids were running everywhere, elevator wait was long due to kids playing, hallways were noisy.

but let the kids run wild in the halls almost knocking me down while holding the baby.

If anyone is making noise out in the hall or turns on their shower in the room next to yours, you'll hear absolutely everything.

Only complaint is the eating space is very small with "church hall tables" lined up along the wall with chairs, to provide more seating space.

The hotel was overrun with hockey teams, 8-10 year olds so you could hear them running up and down the halls and being generally rowdy.

People in the hall and outside, in the parking lot, could be clearly heard.

Breakfast was respectable and the only drawback was you could hear the highway through the windows and people in the hallway.

Traffic in the main hallway was loud and woke me up during the night.

but the clientele across the hall decided to carry on high-volume conversations in the hall both night and morning.

Located on the north side of Wausau this is a nice quite hotel located not far from downtown and close to other restaurants, etc.

Location was easy to get to and close to many restaurants.

The location is very quiet and there is an Applby's restaurant about a block away.

This hotel was also close to several restaurants and to transportation services.

Easy to walk to several restaurants for late night happy-hour.

The gal sent us to a wonderful restaurant close by.

Once you locate it you will find that it's walking distance to quite a few restaurants and stores.

We checked in on a Sunday evening and having never been to the area, the front desk staff was helpful suggesting a place for dinner.

The staff is great and was extremely helpful, we kept having trouble with our room keys and they worked really hard to get the issue resolved.

The lady at the front desk was very kind and accommodating.

Other than remodeling it was very nice bathroom was very small for handycapped

bathroom exhaust issues that wen taking a shower the ceiling exhaust took in the steam and venting right back into the bathroom.

And in the bathroom the only ADA anything was 1 grab bar in the shower across the tub with no non skid tub.

The kind you get out of the faucet in your room for free.

Only thing I can point out I was aching a little and fancied a bath the hot water is not good enough for a soak for more than 5 minutes the rest was great including there grab and go breakfast package for breakfast due to Covid.

Not the best , out dated and bathrooms were tiny shower heads to high.

Room smelled of smoke, bathroom tub not clean enough to bath in.

The drains in the sink were rusty and cracked.

butts littering the entrance ways, to the paint missing around the shower, to the dirty carpets and the scuffed up hallway walls and exterior doors.

The bathroom was in need of a major overhaul.

The bathroom was disgusting, I took pictures.

Beds were comfortable, bathroom very small and old.

Bathroom was very standard and water pressure was a bit much.

Kids and I are looking around for elevator….. no elevator.

No elevator , and I was told there were no rooms on the 1st floor.

There's no elevator so if you cannot carry your bags up one flight of stairs be sure to ask for a ground floor room.

Needs updating and an elevator to get luggage to the second floor.

It is an older property in need of a face lift though.

The television set is so low you cannot watch it in bed unless you lift up the dresser(the TV is bolted down).

The bathroom is small and there is no elevator.

This hotel did not have an elevator so this would be important to know for those who need this accessibility factor.

but other than that it was good  and friendly .

It is always clean and everyone is very friendly.

We were very pleased with everything, staff were friendly and the breakfast was a good start to our day after our overnight stay.
