The host Randy was welcoming and provided an amazing breakfast with just the right of unnecessary cream on the most delicious fresh raspberries.

We cooked in for all breakfasts and one dinner.

Randy's breakfast was delicious and definitely filling over the several offered courses.

The breakfasts were abundant and delicious.

Whether sitting on the porch during complimentary wine hour or sharing an excellent breakfast with the other interesting guests, a stay at The Stewart Inn can't be beat.

We travelled to Wausau to visit the art and antique shops, and the Stewart Inn was the highlight of our trip.

My husband and I recently celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary with a stay at the beautiful and historic Stewart Inn.

even though it is an historic home, Randy has updated it to include modern amenities:  Alexa, extra outlets, flat screens, steam showers, etc.

Along with  the historic, well-appointed house, amazing made-from-scratch breakfasts and sharing a glass of wine other guests at cocktail hour, this Inn is must-visit!

My room was so comfortable with a beautiful patio and bathroom.

Our Sheldon room was large, had a comfy bed, a pretty gas fireplace and updated bathroom amenities.

After settling into our spacious and comfortable room, we enjoyed a brief wine reception where we met other guests and enjoyed some great conversation.

Randy was very comfortable meeting our gluten-free breakfast requirements, which I confirmed in an email before booking.

The home is beautiful and the hosts have provided perfect amenities for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

He is truly interested in making you feel comfortable for your visit to the beautiful Wausau area.

If I had to nitpick, it's an older home with minimal B&B modifications so there was a paucity of outlets in my room.

but mentioning for other elderly visitors like ourselves, we have a tough time with the low toilets in older buildings and found these were the lower type, makes it really tough if you have a back problem.

Tge inn was located near downtown with access to wonderful restaurants and shopping.

(Note: don’t schedule anything before 10 am to fully enjoy the tasty breakfasts!)

Headed to the Red Eye restaurant recommended by Sara for pizza and it was only about a 10 minute walk.

Delicious food and  camaraderie took this experience to the next level, So much to do and see in the area, can't wait to plan our return!

Restaurants are great, downtown has a vibe, architecture is amazing and there is lots to do with Rib Mountain Park hiking, Granite Peak skiing or just enjoying the Wisconsin River setting.

Location is close to downtown and within walking distance of shops and restaurants.

The restaurant was recommended by our hosts, and the food was outstanding.

He is very knowable of the area and every suggestion he gave us on things to do or where to eat was “spot on.”   The five o’clock wine mixer that he hosts for the guests is also really nice.

It’s conveniently located near shops and restaurants.

The house and our room were clean, check in and check out was a breeze, the host was incredibly knowledgeable and provided great restaurant recommendations.

He spent a bunch of time with us talking about the area, restaurants, things to do, etc.

Innkeeper Randy was a font of information, down to which dish was the best at which restaurant.

He also gave us a fabulous dinner suggestion (Lemongrass Asian Fusion Restaurant) which was within walking distance of the Inn.

This place is a dream stay for those who appreciate period architecture and want to stay in the middle of a charming and beautiful midwestern town with breweries, good restaurants and outdoor experiences.

He has wonderful dinner suggestions to enhance your Wausau experience.

When he came, it was an experience to remember, and the food was exceptional!

This beautiful inn is in walking distance of restaurants, museums and cool shops.

One can ask for champagne to be chilling in the room, ask for availability of a private chef, etc.

My husband and I stayed in the Fuller room at Stewart Inn on Saturday, October 14th.

When I arrived, I was greeted by Cathy, who showed me to my room.

We booked at the last minute and had the smallest room which was plenty big.

though the house and the room is the perfect temperature, you will never hear a furnace or air conditioner.

The room was great with the softest sheets i have ever slept on.

Our quiet room featured a king bed with the finest linens and a private ensuite bath with steam shower.

Our room was cozy and had a huge, sparkling clean bathroom that included a steam bath option.

Absolutely immaculate, lovely rooms and accomodations.

My husband really loved the steam shower and I enjoyed soaking in the claw foot tub.

The soft robes, steam shower, and echo speaker were nice touches.

Some extras which were quite fun are the steam in the shower and the library with a collection of interesting books.

We also loved the bathroom as it felt like a spa!

We had a restful night, and I loved the steam shower!

Every room has a bathroom that includes a spa-like steam shower and I was lucky enough to book a room that also had a clawfoot soaking tub. Downtown Wausau is (surprise!)

The steam shower was great and everything was so clean!

It is a beautiful early 1900’s home with 5 bedrooms, each with a private bathroom with a steam shower.

The bathroom and steam showers were an extra special touch.

Our room was extra comfortable with a fireplace, 2 comfy chairs, a steam shower, and luxuriously soft sheets.

Our room had a steam shower feature as well.

The comfortable beds, warm fireplaces and novel steam showers make this reasonably priced Inn feel like the most luxurious stay.

The steam shower was an unexpected treat.

Property was clean, room had nice amenities (sauna, comfortable king bed, large windows that brought in nice light and pretty views, and decorated tastefully.

The wine reception is a great time to meet new people, with a wide range of topics for discussion.

The companionship at the breakfast table was welcomed and enjoyable.

Everyone was welcoming and accommodating:).

The owners even provide salt, pepper, a few spices, and coffee.

We were warmly greeted by Sara and given a tour and information about the house.

Incredible craftsman home and incredibly knowledgeable host.

If only I could have taken the gorgeous one-of-a kind Art Deco Fireplace home!

It's a beautiful home with gracious & responsive hosts.

The inn allows for privacy if desired, or gathering around the fireplace for wine and sharing of experience in the area.

The entire visit at the Stewart Inn was a very pleasant experience.

This was our first Bed and Breakfast experience and I am pretty sure The Stewart Inn has set the bar very high.

We have had many varied experiences in this type of accommodation; most good, some mediocre.

We took advantage of the add-on experiences with the Culinary Experience.

Great hospitality and amazing three course breakfast added to the experience.

It’s just such a comfortable and relaxing experience.

The attention to detail in each aspect of our stay was superb.

If you're looking for a luxurious, country experience, these hosts are building a high-end cabin that sounds great, too.

This was our second stay with Stewart Inn since we loved our experience last year.

The lady who was working in the breakfast area was very attentive and kind as she worked around all of the people moving in the breakfast area.

Amy worked the Sunday mourning breakfast area and did an excellent job keeping it well stocked with items, as well as, keeping the serving line and tables clean.

Breakfast was very good and done with covid protocols.

Breakfast set up is great and offers different selections daily.

but we will probably look at some other options the next time we go to Wausau so we can get a better breakfast and maybe a microwave in the room.

Breakfast was a bagged to go due to COVID-19.

Really liked the options that I had for the breakfast.

The breakfast was well above average with both waffles and eggs as well as oatmeal and other cereals.

But, overall great quality of breakfast items.

Clean rooms and public spaces, friendly staff, decent pool for the kids to splash around in after skiing, decent hot tub for the adults to relax in after skiing, decent breakfast, decent pantry selections, etc.

but that is like any hotel that includes a breakfast.

Our family especially enjoyed the breakfasts-- different waffle flavors each of the 4 days we were there.

Great, HUGE room with a comfy bed that was ultra clean.

but it works ok.  Room was clean, although there was a lingering disinfectant smell  in the room.

but if I’m spending a couple hundred dollars on a very basic hotel room, I definitely expect clean, hair-free sheets.

Love this hotel, staff are accommodating, friendly, and the hotel is very clean and comfortable.

I wish it had more insulation as you could hear people walking the hallway at all hours.

I would recommend requesting a higher floor if you are sensitive to noise, as our room (102) was on the first floor near the side entrance and we could easily hear all footsteps and conversations in the hallway.

There was some late night running in the halls and minor issues in our bathroom.

After what seemed like a longer than necessary check-in experience, she eventually assigned me a room and I carried my bag and other items down the hall only to discover the room door open.

I was two doors down from it and heard every time people got off or on because they would stand by it chatting, or when they came off of it, they would be talking and it would echo down the hall.

The hotel was full the weekend we stayed there, kids were running everywhere, elevator wait was long due to kids playing, hallways were noisy.

but let the kids run wild in the halls almost knocking me down while holding the baby.

If anyone is making noise out in the hall or turns on their shower in the room next to yours, you'll hear absolutely everything.

Only complaint is the eating space is very small with "church hall tables" lined up along the wall with chairs, to provide more seating space.

The hotel was overrun with hockey teams, 8-10 year olds so you could hear them running up and down the halls and being generally rowdy.

People in the hall and outside, in the parking lot, could be clearly heard.

Breakfast was respectable and the only drawback was you could hear the highway through the windows and people in the hallway.

Traffic in the main hallway was loud and woke me up during the night.

but the clientele across the hall decided to carry on high-volume conversations in the hall both night and morning.

you my hear everything people talking about in hallways.

A few restaurants within walking range even.

Applebee's restaurant is within walking distance so we had takeout from there for dinner.

Local restaurants within walking distance or just a short drive.

Located on the north side of Wausau this is a nice quite hotel located not far from downtown and close to other restaurants, etc.

Location was easy to get to and close to many restaurants.

The location is very quiet and there is an Applby's restaurant about a block away.

This hotel was also close to several restaurants and to transportation services.

Easy to walk to several restaurants for late night happy-hour.

Very close to lots of restaurants and skiing.

The gal sent us to a wonderful restaurant close by.

Once you locate it you will find that it's walking distance to quite a few restaurants and stores.
