The breakfast there is the best free breakfast I’ve ever had (omelettes are unmatched).

Great views, good location, breakfast room staff are amazing.

The breakfast was amazing, you could get anything you would want to eat for breakfast and the room where it was was large enough to accommodate everyone even when hotel is fully booked.

Staff at breakfast were super helpful when my son spilled milk everywhere and were very friendly and welcoming.

We couldn't enjoy the complimentary breakfast outside on the patio because of all the dogs barking and dog hair, not to mention the homeless that came in every morning for the complimentary breakfast and coffe.

Ebony, who provided breakfast hospitality was also wonderful, friendly and charming  again making sure all needs met.

The rooms were very clean, excellent staff, the best breakfast, etc.

Three of them jumped on the next elevator in front of us - without a word or a look.

Only one elevator works and my husband is in a wheelchair so no option of climbing stairs.

And yes, there is only one working elevator, which did cause some delays in going up and down from the 5th floor.

A major drawback was, during our stay, only one of the two elevators were functioning, which caused a delay for guests and employees trying to travel from floor to floor.

Not the hotel depicted on their website; Bartendress is great rest of hotel is badly managed, only one elevator mostly in use by the staff- expect long irritating waits; NO BUSINESS CENTER- totally removed and no business services.

One of two elevators is under renovation, which is not disclosed on the website, and creates significant wait times for the sole elevator.

Both elevators were out of order the 3 days we were there.

The hotel lost 2 stars  from me because they didn't enforce the no pets in the breakfast area (I saw multiple that were NOT service animals) and the elevator was out our entire stay.

One of the two elevators was broken and took forever to get up and down.

Elevator broke the entire time…requested housekeeping everyday and only received it 1 day.

The only two downsides were very slow hotel Wi-Fi, and only one (of two) elevators was working, which made for long waits for the elevator.

Finally, the elevators are insanely slow.

though - so I can imagine during warmer weather (and after COVID)the area could be quite noisy 

Speaking of COVID- usual protocols are all  in place - masks  for all, wipes available by elevators, no housekeeping without specific requests, clean stickers on doors,  remotes etc - breakfast both served and  self serve depending on what you want to eat -nice to have hot items still available- and you can eat in the restaurant seating just outside the breakfast serving room (some tables closed to allow for distancing) so seconds or drink refills are easy!

We did not see hand sanitizer around, except for one afternoon, there was a hand sanitizer dispenser right by the elevator.

but having the corridors, elevators with a mound of sand, accent tables , chairs having stains is not the impression i would leave for any guest.

The elevators were a little slow and need to be vacuumed more often (due to people not smart enough to clean the sand from their feet and stuff before entering).

The elevators were filthy, dirty carpet, walls streaked with dirt and fingerprints.

however, elevators and hallways could have used some attention.

5 stars for the location, free parking, free breakfast, the pool, the gym and the cleanliness of the room.

The included breakfast was really good and they actually had fresh fruit available, not just canned.

View was great, room was clean, breakfast included, staff was professional, accommodating and provided great customer service.

Just so anyone reading this review knows that I am not one of those chronic complainers, I would like to say the Hampton North had a GREAT complimentary breakfast.

The staff is usually pleasant and professional, the facilities have been maintained pretty well, and the breakfast is free.

The free breakfast is pretty good, hot eggs, potatoes or pancakes depending on what day you are there, and sausage.

And, the complimentary breakfast was one of the best I have seen.

The Hampton Inn Virginia Beach Oceanfront North staff were some of the most friendly, accommodating people I've dealt with, and I work in customer service myself.

although our dog is very friendly - it is one less thing to worry about).

This location has an on-site bar & the bartender was very friendly.

My friend and I arrived a few hours earlier than check-in on a Monday, and were happily surprised that our room was ready.

The beds are comfortable and our room was very clean, which is something we look for.

For the best view, select a room on the fourth floor or above.

Our room was clean & we got fresh towels when we requested them!

The rooms are clean and spacious and all look out onto the beautiful Atlantic.

The lobby and room were clean and the hotel restaurant Zza’s was very good and fast.

It is the employees at the Hampton Inn by Hilton at Virginia Beach - Oceanfront North that GO OUT OF THEIR WAY to make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible:

Deborah (8th floor Housekeeping) works tirelessly to keep your room welcoming, clean, and comfortable.

The room seemed clean enough, and the size of the bathroom was fairly generous.

The room was clean and the shower had great water pressure.

My room was clean, comfortable, quiet and spacious.

The staff was excellent and the room was clean.

The room was very clean and the bathroom was well stocked.

The rooms are always clean and have great views.

Rooms are clean and large, and every room has an oceanfront view.

But, clearly the greatest selling point of the Hampton North was that it is right on the Boardwalk and the fantastic view from every room.

This hotel has a great location on the Boardwalk with oceanfront rooms.

Our room overlooked the beach and was really a nice view.

All rooms are ocean front and were very clean on arrival.

Bonus:  The location of the hotel is excellent and all of the rooms are oceanfront.

The location is great and the view from the room (especially on 6th floor) was lovely.

but obviously quite busy- we didn’t really get much of a welcome

Great deal on oceanfront room on 4th floor.

I was able to get an oceanfront room for a reasonable price.

The hotel is right on the oceanfront with excellent views of the ocean from the room.

All rooms have an Ocean view with a narrow balcony provided with a couple of chairs.

Located right on the boardwalk with 100% ocean facing rooms, this was a real gem.

We were put in a room with mold in the shower and an "ocean view" with an unattractive review of the roof below.

Overall the hotel just feels cheap and disgusting.

Only downside was the room next to ours were smoking marijuana on the balcony so we were unable to enjoy the balcony view for one night.

The indoor pool smelled funny and not once did I see someone in there cleaning up after guests.

Minuses: I would say our room and hallways were very clean (except that on the floor of our room I've noticed 2 black musty spots on the carpet  probably from mascara because it stained my fingers after touching it, + couple plastic pieces of wire from tagging off a new item of clothes under the table).

but honestly until this hotel is renovated I wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless there is no where else to stay and you get a smoking deal on a nightly rate.

Oh, a disgusting greasy thing which prevented us from walking barefoot or - for that matter - remotely even  touching the furniture (let alone use the bed), the grease, the dirt, that is.

Our tub also had a very slow moving drain

However, our first step into the room smelled musty similar to moth balls.

but I got sick to my stomach when I saw that because I couldn't fathom the literal amount of filth we were staying in that night.

had to keep the balcony door shut due to funny smells of smoke (This is not the hotels fault).

The floor behind the little desk in between the beds wad really nasty.

Numerous old vomit stains littered the hallway while other dust and filth was piling up on the edges.

Mold is apparent in the bathrooms of all three rooms that we rented, the children noticed that ants lined the windows in the hall; and, although this is a nonsmoking hotel, housekeeping did not bother to remove cigarette

There was black mold on the ceiling in the shower, which was less than appealing.

First the desk at check in was friendly and gave free treats and water.

Night bartender, Caanan, very courteous & efficient.

Staff were very gracious and eager to please.

The employees especially Ms Fantazzia made sure that all my needs were met and then some .

Their staff, and especially the hostess, was SUPER friendly and accommodating, and checked in with us diligently, every day, to ask how things were going.

Well as on the deck of the last room we stayed in few weeks ago here - so many we could not sit outside and enjoy the ocean view.

Perfect for watching the waves , sunsets and sunrises .

My family and I stayed at the Hampton Inn Oceanfront North and we had a good time.

I loved our oceanfront view and the feeling of calmness it brings.

All rooms seemed to be beachfront, we were up on the 8th floor (top floor) and had great views of the sunrise.

Don't choose this place for the "breakfast included"
At 8 am.

The rooms are wonderful, the balcony view is fantastic and the pool is great when you can't get on the beach.

The rooms have a private balcony that overlook the Boardwalk, the Virginia Beach Fishing Pier, and of course, the ocean.

View from the balcony was great, breakfast was good.

While the facility itself could use some improvement, the ocean view and balcony were fantastic.

We got the wonderful 2 story room with 2 sofa beds and a separate king bedroom with the balcony overlooking the ocean.

Right on the beach and with balconies overlooking the surf, this is a great centrally located hotel.

You can enjoy watching and listening to the waves crash right from your room with a balcony overlooking the boardwalk.

Only redeeming factor was view from balcony and proximity to beach.

Great location in the very heart of Virginia Beach, hotel room was dated, cleanliness of room was pathetic.

We stayed in 605 and it was clean and had a beautiful view.

I got a oceanfront room, the room is clean and the view is perfect.

While the hotel was older, it was clean and had everything you would need when traveling with your family.

Housekeeping will give clean towels only.

Everything was nice and clean enough room for the five of us, we had an ocean view, looking the beach.

Rooms are nice and clean, private balcony facing water …also has excercise room.

The elevators half work, walked the stairs 90% of our stay.

but the smell inside the elevator and the hallways was terrifying because of the wet carpets.

but when you get off the elevator upstairs it just has a damp dingy feeling to it.

On our floor, the carpet was frayed and one of the elevators was out for the duration of our trip.

Bonuses:
- Only 1 small, extremely slow elevator is actually working.

There are only 2 elevators--1 was broken and the other took forever so we had to keep using the stairs.

One of the elevators was out of order resulting in long waits from the 9th floor.

Only 1 elevator worked there entire stay, it was finally working the day we left.

Everything was good except  one elevator wasn’t working made it crazy trying to get up or down.

Elevators out of order, ice makers not working, lamps in the room don't work. etc.

Also a high floor room away from the elevator.

Elevators are very slow, we took the stairs almost every time

Overall we enjoyed our time, I just wish we had a pool or hot tub we could have enjoyed.

On our last night, the elevator stopped working and the maintenance manager immediately went to work to get it fixed.

One of the three elevators was out of order while we were there.

but elevator was out for 2 days with no reason, ice machines on all floors didn't work and check in on Friday was the worst experience I've ever had, only one lady working at 3pm waited over 45 minutes to check in with 5 people in line i realize places are short handed but on a Friday they should had more help this was very frustrating for all in line.
