My room was well-appointed and had all of the modern amenities.

This hotel is comfortable with a clean room and a bath with plenty of hot water.

Spacious rooms (we got three, and nosy me I checked them all) and excellent bathrooms, quite large for Spanish standards, and they looked new.

There was also a wonderful shower gel/shampoo combination, and a hair dryer.

Lovely showers and comfortable beds made for a relaxing conclusion to the day.

Fabulous rain shower with many options for crazy spray variation.

Beautiful linen, great beds, bath & shower.

And the bath was very soothing for our weary bodies.

My husband and I stayed here after our first day of hiking El Camino in Sept.  Our room was lovely with a modern beautiful bathroom.

The bathroom shower deserves it's own post because there were all kinds of shower output options (rain, wand, jets).

The rooms have spacious bathrooms with rain shower, bidet, and hairdryer.

Very comfortable bed and superb bathroom toiletries and lots of hot water.

The bathroom was really good with a Nice bath, good shower, amenities, and Nice size.

We felt like we had arrived in Camino heaven, gracious and elegant furnishings, wonderfully welcoming staff, the beds were so comfortable, perfect wifi, upmarket and plentiful toiletries, A BATH!!

The room was very well appointed with an AMAZING shower.

The continental breakfast is also very good.

There was a delicious buffet breakfast with healthy choices.

Breakfast was very nice and the reception service was courteous and warm, not the uniformed polite-but-detached hotel desk that is the norm nowadays.

The hotel breakfast the next morning was good and I think it was the first place on our hike that offered Santiago cake (an almond-flavored pound cake that is delicious).

Personnel was multi tasking as the front desk person was also the one refilling the breakfast items so was overwhelmed at one point as we were a big group.

We paid for the breakfast buffet the next morning, which included fresh squeezed orange juice, various coffees and teas, toast, three types of coffee cake, various cold meats and cheeses.

The morning breakfast buffet with freshly squeezed orange juice and delicious coffee prepared us for another day of hiking the Camino with joy.

Breakfasts were cereals, yoghurt and fruit, toast, cake and a selection of meats and cheese.

Breakfasts are very good with plenty of choice to set you up for a day's walk.

Breakfast was included and the waitress was delightful and made me the best boiled eggs and coffee.

The breakfast buffet was excellent with fresh orange juice and fresh homemade applecake and other cakes plus a good selector of fresh fruit.

The following day the entire staff (housekeeping, receptionist, breakfast servers, etc) were truly delighted to see that he was much improved.

The rooms were well appointed and the breakfast was excellent.

You get to a corner, sometimes there will be the name of the street on the corner of one of the buildings,

It is a pretty building; the Camino is just steps away, and it was a nice place to stay, quiet, a good sleep, and a lovely well-run hotel.

This place was a beautifully converted old building with everything you could want in the room and wonderful staff.

It is situated underground an adjacent building, and the access (and way out) are quite difficult.

it is in a 300+ year old building right in the centro historico of cute Villafranca del Bierzo and right on the path of the Camino de Santiago.

But if you like a charming place with atmosphere, you will love this as much as I did.

The hotel is well decorated, clean , luxurious and comfortable.

As the day turned into evening, I worked in the silence and soaked up the atmosphere.

The rooms were beautiful with cozy beds with quality linens.

After walking the day at 34 degrees, the beautifully restored hotel with air conditioning was welcome relief.

For us this was a small quiet chic stop-over.

This French chic style hotel provided a welcome two day respite from the Camino.

The rooms are spacious and the beds extremely comfortable with pristine white linen.

I really enjoyed my stay here because the atmosphere was nice and quiet.

though small is so attentive and friendly, i was greeted by the elegant grandmother and her lovely grand-daughter.

It is a boutique style hotel and certainly one to consider whilst visiting the town.

After a 25 kms walking, we finally arrived at " Las donas" , a small hotel very confortable and with a Nice decoration.

We started our Camino in Astorga and when we arrived to VillaFranca del Bierzo and walked to the inn we saw  this rustic inn from the outside and  when we went inside it was beautifully decorated and the rooms were sooo comfy and with air conditioning.

Perfect for relaxing and pampering after a long walk in the heat.

We had a room that overlooked the rooftops of nearby buildings; it had a old-world luxury hotel feel, pretty casement windows, comfortable beds.

This boutique hotel screams understated luxury.

Hi: This was super reasonable, $85 euros in May 2015, for luxury on the Camino.

We were about to start our 300 odd km Camino Santiago and indulged in a little pampering - we LOVED it.

Breakfast was part of our package and consisted of meat and cheese and pies and bread.

Walking the Camino .. weary and sore we "staggered" into the delightful down of Villafranca de Bierzo and were so relieved to discover that our pre-booked accommodation was directly on the Camino.

I only gave 4 for value because I booked as a package deal and don't know what the rate was.

The rooms were quiet, beds comfortable and linens a delight to slip under.

At the bottom of the hill, on the Camino  and adjacent to the bridge over the river so some rooms might have river views.

After walking in 90+ degree heat for over a week, we truly appreciated the air conditioning in our room.

I had a room with a balcony that opened out to look at the street.

It is immaculately maintained, and tho' the rooms are rather small,

The staff at Las Donas is friendly and helpful and even had a lockable storage room to the side of the hotel where I could store my bicycle for the night.

The staff are so friendly and accommodating.

but the evening person was just delightful and helpful.

In fact, after a really hard day over 30 kms of hills I got lost and found the tourist information centre and a lovely lady who spoke beautiful English pointed me in the right direction.

They were very helpful with our bags and a late checkout.

but efficient with bidets as well as a bath/ shower combo in my juniour suite.

After a stunning walk to Villafranca del Bierzo, we were not let down by the hotel.

The town is perfect to walk around and there is a lot of restaurants close by.

Very clean and comfortable room with the hotel located right on the Camino and within five minutes walk of the center of town.

I highly recommend this hotel if you're walking the Camino.

After a long days walking the Camino what a gem of a hotel.

We stayed here for one night in late September 2017 while walking the Camino de Santiago, It was fine with an old-fashioned feel.

The location is very central and an easy walk to restaurants.

And if you are walking along the Camino, the trail picks up right around the corner from Las Donas so you can start your day in the right direction.

The hotel was 2 storey and had a lift which was welcome after a big walk and bags to move.

The woman at the desk and I communicated via Google Translate to have her agree to accommodate us with an early breakfast (before 7:00) so we could continue our Camino walk early.

We stayed here during our walk on the Camino de Santiago.

but dinner is at a restaurant owned by the same family 5 minutes walk away.

It is easy walking distance to the town center and right on the Camino which we were walking.

It’s not worth the price and they don’t understand the term customer service.

The server was rude, and at times I’ve observed her yelling at customers, including myself.

but got a complete ‘computer says no’ response from the hotel and from their customer relations.

The only problem was the service, both the reception and restaurant staff could do with a refresher in customer service.

This is overall a very poor parador for service to customers.

This one was one of the more modern Paradors and not as visually appealing,

The hotel itself is a modern building on the outskirts of Villafranca del Bierzo,

This is a modern, comfortable and friendly Parador in which to stay.

The place is modern compared to other Paradores so don’t expect an ancient structural heirloom.

A modern Parador and very convenient for an overnight stay, receptionists were particularly welcoming.

This is a relatively modern, purpose built Parador.

We visited the Parador briefly and was disappointed to find it was a modern concrete hotel unlike the historic buildings we have stayed in previously.

The funishings were modern with much wood.

Within rural Spain, something decidedly different: new, modern, with all the bells and whistles of a mini Hyatt,

The check-in was smooth and friendly, the room spotless and modern.

This Parador has been recently refurbished and is a very pleasant place to stay with large, modern rooms and good public areas including a bar, restaurant, lounge with fireplace and a terrace overlooking the town where we sat while it got dark.

The rooms and common areas are very comfortable and pretty and the entire building is modern

This is a modern Parador with a few faux fittings to make it look older than it is.

The pool was great with a spa feel - high powered jets and a sauna.

but with a light airy feel, and both an indoor and outdoor pool.

It has a small indoor pool and a large terrace.

The hotel has an indoor and an outside swimming pool (open between 12.00 and 20.00)

has two swimming pools (one indoor and one outside).

However it was lovely to go for a swim and laze around the indoor pool either inside or out.

The small pool was lovely with views over the hills.

We checked out the indoor pool, which was a little cool.

Pool was wonderful after walking 100km in 3 days.

This is not evident from the web site photos which just shows a lovely empty pool.

Don’t know what it cost because it was booked via tour company.

Unfortunately, by booking through Greenlife Tours t/as Camino ways, I paid significantly more than the rate.

However I only have myself to blame as I booked it and mistook it's description as the newest addition to the Parador range to mean it was newly converted not newly built.

There was a wedding there the night we stayed, which we had been warned about in advance and given an option to cancel,

As with many of the hotels on our trip we were unable to get a king bed - so if you want one, be sure to ask for it when you make a reservation.

We had half board and the food was excellent.

Was on our Camino route and the room was great and the staff helpful and friendly  The food in the hotel was good and the prices were not out of line.

The food both at lunchtime and dinner was first class and service was attentive,

Good things first, the welcome on reception was good and the maitre d in the restaurant was very good.

The rooms were spacious and the food good.

The chocolate dessert was unmissable and we were lucky to get the tail end of the cherry season too.

But the bed is comfortable, the rooms are spacious and the food is decent.

It was a bonkers business decision by Parador because we were intending to extend our stay so Parador lost out not only on what we would have spent in the bar and restaurants

The food for breakfast and at the restaurant was very good.

Dinner in the restaurant was delicious and service was excellent.

Arrived and the first room allocated hadn’t been properly cleaned so moved rooms.

The room was nice and clean and roomy enough with a TV, refrig in the closet and a safe.

Check in was seamless and our room was clean and comfortable.

We used it as a base to explore both town and the surrounding countryside, including the great bodega of the area, and were able to come back and relax in our large, light and comfortable room at the end of the day; there was lots of useful information in the hotel for activities and staff recommendations of things to do in the area, a nice touch.

Upon checkin, the receptionist had my key ready, they were efficient, and assisted me to my room.

Our room was good and spacious especially considering we used our Amigos points, we had breakfast in the village.

There were rooms available on the real dates and we were happy to pay more

Our standard room (110) was situated on the first floor with a view onto the parador's ventilation systems.

The rooms are large - the bathrooms roomy and well stocked.

Our rooms was huge and bathroom had double sinks.

The room size was good, clean, all staff are very friendly.

Although our 4-day stay at this hotel was enforced by injury while walking the Camino de Santiago, it was comfortable, quiet, great value and as a plus we were given a larger room with a walk-in bathroom when the gentleman at reception noticed my injured knee.

but we were delighted with the rooms and style of the Parador in Villafranca.

It was quiet and very comfortable, with a sizeable room and bathroom.

I hope the owners of this hotel truly recognize Luis for the great service that he gave me -/ even on his day off.

The receptionist was friendly and efficient and spoke English.

Staff was helpful and spoke adequate English.

The next morning I reported this to the concierge.

All the staff were understanding and helpful and Luis on reception worked tirelessly on our behalf on Monday morning to find a solution.

In the delightful peace that followed, it took a considerable time for the staff to restock for other guests.

But our lasting impression was how kind, understanding and helpful the reception staff were when I was taken unwell.

Very nice building and quick and efficient check in.

Upfront, mea culpa, we admit we made a genuine mistake with our dates for a non-refundable booking.

The reception and other staff were friendly and efficient.

The staff is amazing and they will go beyond and above to help with anything you need.

Our only regret was not being able to visit the town itself, good enough reason to return.

great base to hike from , drive from, or just enjoy the town, center of the wine region with wine tasting, and easy drive to O'Cebriero and beautiful mountain hiking.

It’s a good stopping point before the next town visit a Santiago.

It's on the edge of a small town, and has good views over the surrounding hilly countryside.

This is a first class hotel with lovely views, close by to the charming town with all of its churches and surrounded by mountains.

A short walk one hits the church and town all in the course of about 10 minutes,   Our dinner was a group dinner in the restaurant and the staff were rushed off their feet as there was also another large group tour.

There is a short walk to the town where there are many bars, cafes and restaurants.

Had dinner in town which is only 5-10 minute walk away.

It's one of the stops on the Camino de Santiago so there were lots of pilgrims in town.

The area is very picturesque and lots to see in the town which is a few minutes walk away.

The location is good as it is easy to walk into the town.

Well situated near the town centre and for touring the this area of Spain.

If you are driving around this part of Spain you could base yourself here for a couple of days and see Ponsferrada castle and other towns.

The rooms are nice, clean, and charmingly rustic.

These were rustic and comfortable and had luxurious baths.

The atmosphere created with the courtyard and beautiful plants really added to the experience.

Our room was both spacious and cozy and after a relaxing bath we went to the bar/restaurant and spent the evening enjoying both the cozy sit-in fireplace and the fantastic meal featuring local specialties.

Ambiance, trendy, vinocentric, and really, really good food.

I have reviewed other hotels from my Camino and this was exceptional, classic furniture in a room with a seating area and TV.

The food in the restaurant was rustic and wholesome served by enthusiastic staff.

but it oozed character in its furnishing and woodwork.

Wonderful food, very friendly staff and lovely Spanish ambience.

The hotel rooms were big, the beds were big and the room decoration fit the historic buildings very well.
