Breakfast was plentiful, the fruit in particular was delicious.

The breakfast buffet had plenty of fruits, meats, pastries and the usual eggs, yoghurt, cereal, bread, etc.

As a positive, they packed us a takeaway lunch bag since we left before breakfast.

Our room was good and spacious especially considering we used our Amigos points, we had breakfast in the village.

It’s not worth the price and they don’t understand the term customer service.

The server was rude, and at times I’ve observed her yelling at customers, including myself.

but got a complete ‘computer says no’ response from the hotel and from their customer relations.

The only problem was the service, both the reception and restaurant staff could do with a refresher in customer service.

This is overall a very poor parador for service to customers.

The WLAN was slow: I measured 2.0/0.1 Mbps.

There was a delicious buffet breakfast with healthy choices.

Breakfast was very nice and the reception service was courteous and warm, not the uniformed polite-but-detached hotel desk that is the norm nowadays.

The hotel breakfast the next morning was good and I think it was the first place on our hike that offered Santiago cake (an almond-flavored pound cake that is delicious).

Personnel was multi tasking as the front desk person was also the one refilling the breakfast items so was overwhelmed at one point as we were a big group.

We paid for the breakfast buffet the next morning, which included fresh squeezed orange juice, various coffees and teas, toast, three types of coffee cake, various cold meats and cheeses.

The morning breakfast buffet with freshly squeezed orange juice and delicious coffee prepared us for another day of hiking the Camino with joy.

Breakfasts were cereals, yoghurt and fruit, toast, cake and a selection of meats and cheese.

Breakfasts are very good with plenty of choice to set you up for a day's walk.

The following day the entire staff (housekeeping, receptionist, breakfast servers, etc) were truly delighted to see that he was much improved.

Walking the Camino .. weary and sore we "staggered" into the delightful down of Villafranca de Bierzo and were so relieved to discover that our pre-booked accommodation was directly on the Camino.

I only gave 4 for value because I booked as a package deal and don't know what the rate was.

The staff is great, the rooms are fantastic, and the buffet breakfast is stupendous!

A wonderful non-English speaking character who mimed his way through an entire dinner conversation and then insisted on showing us around the Hotel including the love nest penthouse on the top floor and also his wonderful collection of drinking vessels, just next to the dining room, where a good breakfast buffet was served.

The buffet style breakfast is fine with good quality cold meats and fresh bread etc.

In advance we requested a very quiet room because we’ve been in a few noisy places and really needed a good night’s sleep.

By this time many will have walked 25 days and been subject to sleepless nights in dormitories of 40 people, putting up with snoring and constant disruption particularly as people get up before the crack of dawn to make sure they get a bed for the next night.

If you are being very nit pickie then if you are a light sleeper there can be a little noise from kids in the areas between the lifts  and the room and the hotel is newly built so does not offer any architectural delights.

but had a weird overhead rose where the water just poured out rather than sprayed.

Life can only be better with some regional food and local wine.

The breakfast was very basic (cereals, bread, meat, cheese, yoghurt, fruit and coffee)

Rooms are adequate, facilities are good, breakfast is great for 2 euros.

The couple who run it are lovely, its REALLY well organised, showers are hot, comfortable sleeping, good breakfast for 2€, and you can book online.

You can have spontaneous breakfast in the morning for 4€.

The breakfast for 2 euros is nice as well.

Breakfast was available for a very reasonable 2€!

The breakfast is great with muesli, toast, cakes, biscuits, juice, tea & coffee all for only €3 a great start to steep hike in the morning.

Breakfast was a step above most with muesli in addition to usual toast, juice, coffee with hot milk.

They also do a good breakfast in the morning.

The people running the hostel were lovely, the breakfast was the best we got anywhere on the camino (cereal, toast, coffee, juice), the rooms were clean and quiet and of course importantly, there was free wi-fi!

As in every other albergue, the walls are thin and people go about their business at their pace and time so there is constant hustle and bustle on the corridors, which can be heard at all times.

The local fare was great and vino de tinto de casa - plentiful.

The only non-positive remark will be, that the breakfast is –well, simple with not much to choose from.

Really delicious artisan food.I had mouth-watering goats cheese with the restaurant's own home made chutney.

They were exquisite - grilled veggies, Spanish omelette, octopus, trout & peppers, beef cheeks and mixed cheeses plate.

Breakfast was also fantastic - much larger than we had experienced along the way.

The breakfast was delicious the next morning and our dessert the evening before was also good.

They give you empanada and wine at check-in which was delicious.

We were met with a glass of wine and empanada, shown proudly to our room, served with kind attention at dinner and greeted with smiles at breakfast.

Delicious late dinner was enjoyed in the gardenlike outdoor restaurant, and a robust and well tasting breakfast, made to order, was served early next morning in their breakfast room.

Breakfast is o.k., a normal Spanish breakfast of toast and coffee… what sets it apart is that you can eat it in the cool, antique laden dining room.

The breakfasts are good as well as the bar and restaurant.

Our room had a large balcony facing the main street where we sat enjoying more delicious local wine, while most rooms have garden (better) views

The following morning we opted for breakfast here.

though there was no lift, our cases were delivered to our room.

We asked for an Ice coffee to-go and the barman wouldn't take any payment.

The room price did not come with breakfast so we brought milk and cereal along (the room has a refrigerator and Belem put our ice in the hotel ice cream freezer for the night) However, we did eat dinner at the hotel.

If on a budget, there are definitely cheaper alternatives in town including one of the better Albergues on the camino on the opposite side of town.

I'll admit I made a wrong choice at dinner, having to chew through a hefty serving of botilla,

This was my favourite camino albergue with the hosts providing scrumptious meals and drinks and a home made apple cake to die for.

Very quiet amazing place, delicious menu, simple and comfortable environment, very clean rooms overlooking the pond.

Great people, a beautiful property with grass and hammocks and great food - Vegetarian options, healthy and fresh and great fish for the non vegetarian.

The host Sergei and Irina were incredibly welcoming and the place extremely relaxing and the food was delicious.

So, I was very surprised, when I read one of the reviews for this albergue - that it was too hot in the room (I remember the man and the woman, who left this review - they came, stayed in the room for 5 minutes and then left with apologises) Albergue is quite simple place for pilgrims, nice and clean, not expensive, there is no air conditioning here, so it`s very strange to expect that it will be much cooler in the room than outside on a hot day.

The room was basic, to say the least, and more expensive than its counterparts elsewhere.

The only downside was we felt the hotel was a bit on the expensive side for the Camino.

The wifi was horrible from our room, so we asked for access to their  breakfast room.

When we checked out asked to pay the lesser price that is on their website for a double room no balcony. .

We had a far superior breakfast for half the price at a small restaurant next store.

We walked from Villafranca and arrived here just in time before a wild storm blew through.

They also explained breakfast was from 7.10am (yes that is correct) and dinner  was from 8.00pm.

Despite other comments, we experienced disgraceful bar and restaurant service, for afternoon, dinner and breakfast.

Breakfast was a buffet, and very good as well.

Enjoyed a very nice breakfast in the morning and was a little reluctant to leave and resume the more mundane daily peregrino routine.

So delicious and their coffee was the best I had on the whole camino de santiago.

but they were building up the simple buffet fast.

but my husband woke up a few times due to vehicles driving by the open windows quite loudly.

but this stay was disappointing due to the poor service.

The room provided privacy, I had a quiet night after dinner with friends, breakfast next morning was alright, the mother and son team that met me in the evening were OK,

The rooms are beautiful clean and comfortable, the breakfast is extremely generous, and the hospitaleros as well are very kind and helpful!

As it turned out, it was a good thing because I could find it easily in the dark whereas the streets of the village were otherwise very confusing and twisting.

The toilet seat was a bit wonky, I thought it should be fixed soon.

The bathroom was ok except I couldn't operate the shower and ended up having a bath instead.

As for the bathroom the tiles were all cracked the towel rail was falling off and the shower had like a half bath which was very dangerous and one could quite sissy slip in it.

When we checked in after a long day of hiking, with no reservation we ended up with a room with a shared bath.

The shower was small and if I was any larger, I would not have fitted.

but the next morning after an excellent breakfast, the Camino re-starts just outside the hotel.

It was to be an early start in the morning and the manager made up a good sized breakfast tray for us, including thermos of coffee.

Friendly service by lady at breakfast too.

Breakfast was very good AND Camino starts to your left as you leave the hotel.

The food in the restaurant was excellent both for dinner and breakfast which was included.
