We enjoyed dinner and drinks in the bar and restaurant with excellent service.

Nice pool with decent food and drink on offer and the restaurant was good.

We would sit and have a drink right there.

Beautiful pool area and immaculate gardens to the front and rear of the hotel where you can relax and in the evening enjoy a pre dinner drink on the front lawn.

There is a bigger than average swimming pool with plenty of sunbeds and a pool bar for drinks and snacks.

The facilities across the road at Annita beach were excellent, sun beds etc included in the price and had very reasonably priced food and drinks.

but we usually opted for drinks there instead.

Drinks & wine were most reasonably priced for a “Belle Epoque” establishment.

The pool bar is great for a drink or bite to eat.

Drinks at the hotel bar are fully priced and a pre dinner " happy hour " would be welcome.

The hotel bar was an amazing experience with some great drinks and service from Giada and Nicola.

Part of the beach across the road is sectioned off for residents and there is a nice beach bar/cafe where you can get a lunchtime drink and a bite to eat from an extensive menu.

Service was excellent and prices of food and drinks very competitive.

Air conditioning, fridge drinks  & T,V, in the bedrooms made the extremely hot days  bearable .

Drinks prices were very reasonable with a bottle of prosecco being just over £15 and a litre of bottled water just £2.

The pool area and beach were lovely, very clean and relaxing with good light lunches and drinks served at both.

but the mark up on soft drinks is a little excessive, but so are most hotels.

And even a coffee and tea tray( not that we really needed it as the hotel is very reasonable for snacks and drinks and available always).

but cafes serve crisps And nuts with drinks at lunch time.

Pool was excellent no problem getting a sun bed and reasonably priced drinks.

We had a couple of days staying local, enjoying the hotel pool and table tennis and a few days taking day (train) trips to Florence, Sienna and Cinque Terre which was a fantastic day out and worth the 18 Euros day card available from the station at La Spezia which enables you travel between all of the 5 beautiful villages on the line.

The lady that worked the pool bar was so nice and helpful!

A key reason for choosing this hotel was the large pool .

A wonderful pool area - no scrambling for sun beds!!

The pool was large and comfy Sunbeds were plentiful.

Elsewhere, the Pool and its facilities are brilliant; accompanied by a poolside bar service.

Well maintained grounds and pool area with ample sun beds available as well as easy access to designated beach area ensured a relaxing holiday.

The pool area and staff at the pool bar were very helpful - we lunched there both days as the sea was rough.

The swimming pool and surrounding gardens are kept so pristine.

The pool  and garden are spotlessly clear.

Food in the hotel was excellent at all meal times and lunches were available at the pool.

The garden and pool areas are exceptional, and the hotel bar, after a day on the beach and lounging on the outdoor terrace before dinner, takes the overall experience to another level.

although a step back in time, was very well maintained and also a had a pool and grounds to relax in.

The pool and gardens are unique for Viareggio and the gardens are beautifully kept.

The rear garden provided a welcome shady area and the pool area very clean and well maintained, the only odd part being the outdoor shower across the path in which my wife, twice, got wet shoes.

but I couldn't bear to see the poor birds trapped, so I avoided this area, which is a shame .

Towels are thin and bathrooms are poor and institution-like.

However, a poor and unhealthy breakfast buffet, no gym and no focus on the environment makes this an average hotel.

I told him I had a booking for a group of 30 people and this type of poor customer service would make me  choose a different property .

Our only complaint was the very poor internet wi-fi speed

Found the choice was poor and the food was barely warm.

though the lighting was very poor in the room and you had to switch on the bedside lamp to get the socket near the table to work.

We visited Pisa, Florence and Lucca, and found the trains frequent, clean & cheaper than the UK (despite the poor exchange rate!).

However, the service at breakfast is very poor.

As we left, I was amused to see a very suave man in a smart suit looking dolefully at his piece of meat - completely surrounded by a red, bloody moat, gesticulating at the poor waiter who was cringing before him.

Bad points - awful breakfast, 'hot' food is inedible, birds frequently flying around the room & helping themselves to the bread, poor service for tea & coffee with tables not pre set.

Having seen what the Manager writes in riposte to unfair reviews  (check the poor review Manager's comments on TA, they are a hoot!)

Maps and information were pretty poor - as was information on using their beach partner.

As a USA visitor we were horrified to see the poor state of the rooms.

We paid for a basic room and that's what we got (small-ish, no balcony, poor view).

The cuts of meat were poor and I had the worst lasagne of my life last week!

The service in the restaurant was poor, you are allocated a table for your entire stay, and likewise you tend to have the same waiter(s), it was a regular event for the waiter to come to your table with the meals for a different table, likewise we often saw our meals doing a tour of the restaurant before reaching us.

Although there was some traffic noise this could not be heard at night when the windows and shutters were closed, and using the very efficient air con .

If you're looking for a Club 18-30s style Hotel with Karaoke, Loud music and generally a noisy experience - look elsewhere.

but a lot of traffic noise from the road.

but quite noisy as the pool area backs onto a main road.

The only small gripe was with there being no Jet 2 rep available when you need one.

But if I wouldn't have earplugs I wouldn't sleep first night because of terrible noise in air-condition in room no. 106.

I gave sleep quality 4 as air conditioning was a bit noisy.

We booked a sea front room- be aware there is road noise and sometimes music at night.

I feel the average clientele of the hotel and of the wider area was slightly older so if you’re looking for a quiet calm break, this one is for you.

Air conditioners are so loud that it is impossible to sleep & leave it on at night so anytime July-Sept it would be impossible.

though noisy as there is a main road running behind it.

Unfortunately, I have to change my beautiful large room at the 5th floor due to the noise disturbing my sleep.

Again there is quite a bit of noise from traffic as it is at the back of the hotel and behind the bushes at the back is the busy road.

The peaceful atmosphere was  sometimes spoilt by a few noisy guests/children jumping and splashing about.

but we did speak to reception in the morning and apparently the police were called to measure the noise level so, well done to the hotel for trying to do something about it.

The quite large swimming pool is at the rear of the hotel accessed through a
garden-such a pity it is adjacent to a fairly busy road and traffic noise can be

After the usual narrow noisy corridors this was a revelation.

We had a lovely room upgrade upon checking in; the room was clean & tidy with a great shower and bathroom facilities.

The rooms are clean, well-appointed, and kept to a high standard.

The cleanliness of our room was outstanding.

The hotel is very traditional in style and my room was spotless.

The rooms were clean and towels changed everyday and it was good to have a mini bar fridge to keep beers and water cool .

The cleaner was efficient and always made sure our room was clean and topped up with toiletries and tea and coffee.

This is an old style traditional Italian building with clean rooms, which were looked after to high standards everyday.

The bathroom was on the small side and our shower cubicle might have posed a few problems for anyone too overweight

The smallest bathroom ever you sat on the toilet with your knees against the wall next to the shower .This was so tiny it would never be allowed health and safety in England.We had to put any toiletries in the bedroom as there was no shelf.

but adequate and I could have done with more storage in the bathroom and the shower is for a small person with not much room to manoeuvre.

Any criticism was the bathroom & shower was very small , could be difficult for any less agile or larger size .

Only down side was the small toilet/shower room.

though as this was very compact with a very small shower cubicle.

but the bathroom well shower room was so small you had to sit on the toilet sideways because your knees were touching the wall and you had step over the toilet to get to the shower, ridiculous for this class of hotel, apparently not all the bathrooms are this small but that didn't make us feel any better.

the public rooms were traditional and gracious.The bathroom was small and we found the corner shower most unsatisfactory, not much room and a dodgy door.

although the bathroom was tiny , the gap between the toilet and wall was only 6 inches , you had to negotiate around this to get to the shower!

We had a large room and a very small bathroom (32’’ x 110”) on the second floor.

Elevators are incredibly slow and the showers are way to small,

The bathroom was tiny ,barely adequate and a larger sized couple might have had difficulty useing the toilet and shower , it was fine for us and would not put us off going again .The garden is a real bonus and the pool lovely.

No closets, the bathroom was so tiny that a 5'9" person can only sit on the toilet when keeping the legs wide apart, and the right one would end up in the shower.

From the moment we arrived we were made very welcome, allocated in a very spacious twin room with beautiful views.

Must mention the food, wow was blown away by the quality, choice and presentation, to have a choice of oysters, prawns, sea bass and red mullet showed the high standard of this hotel.

It is just stunning and like time stood still!

We enjoyed a 9 night stay here in a sea view balcony on the 4th floor.

We had a sea view room at the front of the hotel which was amazing.

Our room was a side view so we could see both the sea and the mountains.

We stayed in room 123 which overlooked the seafront .

The rooms are huge with fantastic views over the beach and well furnished.

We were given an upgrade to a room with a sea view which was much appreciated.

You can buy access to Bagno Irene beach club in front of the hotel for 10 EUR per day, including two chairs and an umbrella.

Hotel has a deal with the close by beach operator Bagno Irene where you get discounted prices for the beach loungers (you can also include in the room price

It also has an arrangement with Bagno Irene - the beach opposite which was really great.

Also included in this package was daily use of two deckchairs and a parasol on the beach at Bagno Irene Beach Bar right across the road.

but much preferred Bagno Irene -family run very friendly clean and nice salads at lunch time!

Do take advantage of the Hotel's connection with the beach club Bagno Irene.

The hotel provides access to the beach just over the road, Bagno Irene.

The special priviledges at the beach club "Bagno Irene" should not be missed.

There was a lifeguard at Bagno Irene, which is reassuring for families with children of different ages.

but no balcony, asked to upgrade but no balconies available - still an amazing view though.

We had the classic room which was stunning with a balcony .

The rooms are very clean and comfortable and we had a front balcony room looking out over the beach and sea and was well worth the extra cost.

We had a side view room with balcony and the location was just incredible with views of the sea, harbour and Viareggio prom.

We had a perfect balcony to sit of an evening watching the world go by.

We stayed four nights at the hotel in a room with two balconies with sea view.

We had Room 303 with a double balcony so were able to enjoy the superb views of the beach and marvellous sunsets.

We booked a third floor room with balcony and were not disappointed - the room was comfortable (as was the bed), had a large ensuite, adequate storage and safe plus a fridge and television

We ended up getting the double balcony room which apparently is one of the nicest rooms in the hotel

Our room was the ocean view panoramic with balcony which had a fantastic view, was spacious and very comfortable.

Perfectly located to make full use of the promenade of Viareggio and within easy walking distant of the train station which you can hop on a train to visit Pisa, Florence or Luca with ease.

A street market was set up on the promenade across from the hotel on Thursday morning and went on for miles.

Fantastic hotel in stunning Viareggio, right in the middle of their beautiful promenade.

Just had a lovely 8 night stay at this great hotel - the position on the promenade is brilliant, the room and all public areas were spotless and the food was great!

You can walk down the promenade to all cafes and restaurants, a huge Igor Mitoraj  sculpture and the fishing boats I saw from my room at dawn, were selling their catch at the end of the walk.

The Hotel is perfectly located on the seaside road, for the promenade & for the beach which is right opposite, and for Viareggio town generally and for the train and bus for day trips to Pisa, Lucca, Florence, Forte di Marmi, Tuscany in general and of course Pisa airport.

A busy street market was held on the promenade every Thursday morning, stretching from just across from this hotel along to the Lido di Camaiore end of the promenade.

We wee in a sea view room on the top floor which gave a fantastic view right up and down the beautiful promenade.

Location of Hotel is great just across the road from the beach and promenade with shops and restaurants.

Its perfect location in the middle of the promenade of town makes it easy access to local restaurants, shopping and the pier, with a prime view of the sea.

Walk across the street and stroll the promenade, shop in the many stores, grab some lunch at one of the many ristorantes.

Rooms immaculate,  sheets and towels fresh each day.

The rooms were very clean and all the staff that we encountered throughout our stay were always polite, courteous and extremely helpful.

The rooms are spotless and are cleaned every day with clean towels and bedding daily.

The room was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed with plenty of storage space.

Breakfast was amazing, croissants, rolls, cheeses, eggs and bacon, and a fantastic table full of fresh fruits which were delicious.

The hotel is more like a B&B with a bountiful breakfast served every morning, including a wide variety of fresh fruit, pastries, eggs, ham, toast, cheese, tea, coffee, juice, and much more.
