We didn't try the breakfast (city has some Spanish standard options) nor the dinner.

Super complete and COVID-safe breakfast buffet.

The food was ok, not brilliant and if you wished to have hot food at breakfast it was available and cooked to order.

but for less than half the price you could have natural orange juice, a latte plus a toast.

Magnificent breakfast, comfortable beds, helpful staff whose English easily outranked my faltering Spanish.

The dinner was delicious and included in the price of the hotel room and, from what we saw of the little town nearby, it's probably the best option any way to eat at the hotel.

After exploring the mountainous countryside and villages of this corner of Galicia during the day, we returned to the Parador to enjoy delicious cuisine and warm hospitality.

The salad starters were fine and plentiful

The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The staff at the reception desk was very kind and the food and breakfast was of excellent quality.

Ample room, full-equipped, with super comfortable beds and views to a beautiful patio.

We all found our rooms spacious and comfortable.

but this one has the pool, and, whilst we stayed at both, we really liked the friendly, comfortable and spacious atmosphere of this one too.

The rooms are big and comfortable and the attendants attentive. Caveats?

The rooms were comfortable and sensibly planned and the bathroom worked well in every repect, if quite simple.

Angel on reception deserves special mention as he made our stay both memorable and comfortable.

There is also a pool and a small play park for younger guests.

This place is out of the way, a small hotel, I think I may have been one of 2 guests.

The hotel is situated on a hill, just outside the town with good views.

Food was served at the second Parador in the castle a little further up the hill- a minute´s drive or better as a short, pleasant walk, and was top-notch.

The new 4 star (Parador Castillo de Monterrei) part on top of the hill is brand new with very nice rooms.

The builiding in itself is fine and the sights awesome being the hotel placed on top of a steep hill.

A Parador I hadn't visited before and I was pleasantly surprised to find this lovely quite small (for a Parador) hotel perched on a hill overlooking the town of Verin.

Impressive location in an old 'pazo' just in front of the old fortress of Monterrey, at the top of a hill looking over Verin.

There is also a terrace to have drinks and watch the sun setting over the surrounding gentle hills.

Perched on a hill, it´s got fantastic views, and the sitting room and bar areas were large, comfortable and light; the décor is the more classic Parador style, and our room was nicely done, spacious and again with really good views over the whole valley.

The building is old, charming and our room had a fantastic view from two windows.

Verin Parador is well established and has some 25 rooms

Some 27 rooms, rustic and comfortable supported by a friendly and helpful staff where nothing was too much trouble for them.

but for some reason the hotel had left a complimentary bottle of wine and some cake in the room, which was a great start to a nice stay and actually made an otherwise OK hotel feel a bit special.

However, the rooms are spacious with a nice ambience - we were on the top floor looking west - the bed comofrtable and for 130 euros a night including breakfast it seemed reasonable value as we have stayed in more than a dozen paradoes across three trips to spain in the last 20 years.

That said, the bedding was of good quality and the room was cleaned each day to a very high standard.

The bathroom was a little tired and cramped,

Situated on a slight hill opposite Monterey castle (yes, the mother of all Montereys) it provides space to relax and chill down from sightseeing and driving.

but the curly young lady at the reception made this difference: always positive thinking, complete comitted to fullfull 100% customer service it was just a pleasure for us to stay in this place.

We received a friendly welcome and the staff were particularly helpful, accommodating all 14 of us on one table in the restaurant at the Castle.

The paradore is clean, well managed, lovely staff and you will just love the sheets on the bed!

Front desk came out in the rain to repair one of the bikes so they can go on their ride.

The wait staff were friendly and efficient howevwer and seemed shocked to get a tip.

The staff in the restaurant were excellent and very attentive.

The hotel is good value, and in a lovely spot with far reaching views over the valley.

They views are lovely (we had castle view) and the area is super quiet in the middle of the excellent Monterrei vineyards.

On our way to Vigo we decided to stop at the Parador for a quick snack and to enjoy the view.

All most interesting and with incredible views of the lovely mountainous countryside.

Next to the hotel is a ruined castle with museum, a stormy night complete with lightning made for an eerie view from my hotel that I will never forget

The view of the valley and Portugual is amazing during the day and night.

It overlooks the Monterrei valley with Portugal just 20 km to the south.

You can not beat the location as far as the views overlooking portugal to the West and the castle to the north.

Parador Verin is located in a peaceful spot with some wonderful views of the surrounding countryside and castle.
