My husband and I were on our world adventure and booked into this hotel on our stay in Venice.

We will absolutely stay at this hotel the next time we are in Venice.

Only 2 or 3 minutes stroll to St Mark's Square, the position was perfect and being able to leave by water taxi directly from the hotel's pier was a real bonus.

Have to say I wasn’t sure what to expect from a Venice hotel,

I've stayed at 2 hotels in Venice and 5 overall in Italy and this was definitely the best!

The hotel also had their own pier making it convenient for water taxi transportation which they gladly would arrange for their guests.

Like most buildings in Venice the hotel has a period charm with an elegant courtyard for an impressive and relaxing breakfast, served until 10.30.

Stayed four nights at the Hotel Saturnia & International and was very happy with my choice of hotels in Venice.

Was our retirement gift to ourselves and the hotel and Venice did not disappoint.

Although we have stayed at two other hotels in Venice, (one of which was the Bauer, which we rate highly) we discovered the Saturnia on our third visit and have no desire to look anywhere else.

The only reason for not giving 5 stars is due to the very firm mattress we had in our room.

The only negative was that the beds were hard which was the only reason I didn't give it a 5.

Our huge king size bed was a little firm and it was a little uncomfortable trying to sleep on very firm pillows.

The only feedback I might have for the hotel is that the beds and pillows were somewhat hard, and the AC isn't switched on until later in the month.

As described by many other guests the bed was very hard.

Additionally, the room we stayed in was small and I agree with a fellow traveler whom said the bed was hard as a rock.

If you're looking for something homogenous and perfect, then the hard beds and old wooden furniture won't be to your taste.

The guest rooms were a little small, typical European,

Old palazzo, complete with the inevitable eccentricities. Room a little small, and hotel on swevewral floors with a lot of steps (as well as a lift!)

We upgraded ourself to premium room as standard room was small and uncomfy.

Our main issue was the rooms were a bit small and dated.

The porter helped us get out bags to the room since we had some small steps leading to our room, which was very nice of them.

but very well preserved as a palace, the rooms are small but comfortable enough and each with a different style.

On the other hand, beds are too old and uncomfortable, rooms are small -but clean-, the breakfast is good, service is slow.

European hotels are known for tiny rooms and tiny beds,

As a rule though, rooms are on the small side in Europe.

We stayed in room 15 which is quite small,

The room was small as to be expected in Venice - hello?

As any other and ancient city Roma could be cold , nasty and impersonal

Would have been 5 stars except for the sewage smell which all the staff ignored and said they didn't smell anything whenever anyone asked.

The corridor decor was nasty and looked like it needed an urgent facelift.

It is clean and doesn't smell old as other properties in Venice.

The bathroom was very old-fashioned and a bit shabby, with mold in spots and cracked, faded tiles. 2.

I read all sorts of reviews that complained about the smell of Venice or the overcrowding

The place was rapidly becoming a toxic health hazard and still we were ignored and not fed.

The only downside was the fishy smell in the hallways.

The room was in desperate need of refurbishment: there was a terrible smell and the bathroom was very very old.

We were told that Venice would 'smell' in high season - rubbish there was NO smell whatsoever !

I was worried that it might smell from mildew, as many old Venice properties do,

However, the weather outside was damp and chilly and there was no way to heat the room .

Lovely room and facilities, just on Wednesday morning had workers drilling at early hours of the morning and then the sewage today at 7am woke me up right below our bedroom window.

It doesn't smell like some people have asked - unless you mean the great aromas from the  various restaurants.

Concierges are amazing and can help with any bookings or advice.

The situation, cleanliness, room size, all staff including auxillary staff, the breakfast were all exceptional.

Staff were fantastic, helpful and knowledgeable.

The rooms were spacious and nice, the bathroom was great, I am a celiac and did not need to ask them for gluten-free breakfast (there's a separate stand with a few packaged gluten-free options), the staff always very polite.

Every think we read about the hotel and staff were spot on.

The staff are incredibly helpful, the breakfast will last all day, our room was lovely.

Convenient way to arrive and back from the airport as the water taxi bring you there!

We arrived late at night, our water taxi delivering us to the hotel gate.

(Tip — If you arrive at Santa Lucia station, ask the hotel to arrange a water taxi. We walked, and we wish we hadn’t.)

When checking out, the hotel porters helped us with our luggage to board the water taxi.

Hotel has a nice rooftop deck, plus the hotel arranged a water taxi for us to take us to the train station upon our departure, which left from the hotel's own dock!

I took a private water taxi to/from the airport which really made getting there stress free.

First, they arranged a private water taxi from the airport so we could arrive at their pier.

It has a dock for water taxi and the concierge service is outstanding for recommendations, map locations, and making reservations for sites.

From the first time we stepped into the lobby from the water taxi to the time we left to catch our plane home the experience at Hotel Saturnian was amazing.

Staff were helpful and friendly, a lovely breakfast and great location with water taxi acess and near  a Vaporetto stop.

The location- a short walk from San Marco Square and with the added benefit of its own water taxi mooring.

Back entrance  on a canal gives direct access  for water taxis.

The hotel is situated within an easy walk to St Marks square where you can get a water taxi to other parts of Venice.

There was also free  trip with  water taxi to Murano Glas Fabric.

They also arranged the water taxi for us to get to the airport.

Also strongly recommend the private water taxi to the airport.

The real jewel of a find was the roof terrace!

but that meant we got the terrace to ourselves!

We had booked a junior suite, and we had two terraces overlooking a canal, where gondolas with opera singers would regularly drift by.

As with the rest of the hotel, the terrace is beautifully set out with comfortable, good quality furniture and plenty of shade (it was really hot for October).

The rooftop terrace was so nice, good to relax, enjoy a drink and take pictures.

Rooftop terrace was also very nice in the evening.

The rooftop terrace is a welcome bonus to chill out on of an evening and rest your feet after all the walking!

We particularly enjoyed the roof terrace after a busy day exploring Venice.

Besides a roof terrace worthy of a photoshoot, it boast a charming enclosed garden and a bar producing great cocktails and food, both of which I enjoyed, as well as a top not restaurant, spa and gym which I did not visit.

The breakfasts were amazing and the hotel has a great roof terrace that let's you get away from the hussle and bustle if you need to.

The rooftop terrace has magnificent views over the city and is a must to visit once the sun goes down and the ancient buildings get lit up.

Hotel jacuzzi and rooftop terrace was also brilliant and another big plus for the hotel.

Also the room was right next to the rooftop terrace with beautiful views and comfy chairs.

The location is perfect and I found the rooftop terrace brilliant for when I wanted to get away from the busy crowds outside - it is so quiet and peaceful with gorgeous views.

Venice is perfect holiday hot spot and people is a lot this season.

The location is perfect, especially for a short stay in Venice.

Definitely a spot to stay if your visiting Venice.

Togehter with hotel cleanliness and very good condition of rooms it is a definite hotel we recommend and will come back to next time we visit Venice.

The wall to San Marco and Rialto area was about 30 minutes.

though getting out of the shower shorter gals like me need to hold on bc the tub wall was very high.

; except the floor was not laid correctly and you had to keep the shower pointed against the wall otherwise it flooded the bathroom.

My only complaint is that our “attic room” had exposed beams painted the same color as the walls and at neck-high height.

Nothing was overlooked from the ceilings, to the walls, to the floors.

The bathroom has a bit of the wow factor with mood lighting, a big bath and glittering mosaic tiles underfoot and on the walls.

The hotel has the feel of a Venetian merchants house with wood panelled walls and in the small library/bar, stained glass windows overlooking the canal and art work on the walls.

Two of the windows are about 2/3 up the wall and there are trees from the neighboring property that block most of the light.
