There’s also no place to hang a towel so you can reach it or get them dry later because the rack is too small.

The shower is so small you soak the entire bathroom when you turn it on.

Often in hotels in "tight venues" you are left with tiny bathrooms and rather poor storage possibilites,

Now you may think I do not have any negatives to say, and the only thing, I can think of is the shower is small,

The room and bathroom were a bit on the small side

Although, the water from the shower does take a while to entirely drain down the small slats under the shower head.

But our room was very compact, bathroom tiny and lots of noise from the surrounding rooms.

The hotel room was small and beautifully furnished and decorated.

Hotels in the city are expensive and Venice hotel rooms are known to be very small.

one place for our honeymoon thank you for making everything magical the whole team were brilliant

This is our second stay here and the staff is always very kind and friendly.

Some small rooms in the back face opposite walls of the narrow lanes, e.g.

Room was so tiny, equivalent to a small cabin on a ship.

Because the room was so small, the room became super stuffy very fast with no air ventilation.

Upon arriving we were greeted by Francesca with and big smile and welcoming words.Francesca went over everything with us and answered all our questions.

Staff were extremely helpful and very knowledgeable.

Hotel staff went above and beyond in helping getting us settled in and also did an amazing job with recommending a restaurant close by that had a terrace on the canal which was a very memorable dinner/evening as we had multiple courses and bottles of wine because it was so wonderful.

The elevator was super small and slow, did not even fit the luggage.

Visited at the beginning of December and some confusion on arrival as BA room upgrade paid for,  and need for room in hotel served by lift access request lost in communication to the hotel.

(There is an elevator in the main building.)

They described the view, the fact there was no lift etc.we accepted this offer.

Some rooms are upstairs and there is not an elevator so if stairs are an issue, request the ground floor.

No elevator access to upper floors is a drawback with heavy luggage!

Glad she did because we had to go up several steps to get to our room (no elevator).

Our room tucked away on first floor across elevator and staircase, you can hear everyone go up stairs or talk while waiting for elevator.

If you cannot climb stairs (two floors total), then you will need to specify a ground floor room, or being in a building with an elevator.

Our room was top floor - beyond the lift - which is the only down side

There is a small elevator (lift) accessing the sleeping rooms in the main building.

Be aware that lifts do not exist in Venice hotels.

but,)be warned there are rooms in the hotel that are in a separate building, apparently it does say so on their web site but we missed it as we had booked a prestige room we weren't expecting this room.We were taken to the room ,up two flights of stairs(no lift) and asked if we were happy with it , said we would like to move as apart from being in a separate building the room was small and dark as the windows looked on another building about a meter away.

but it would not be suitable for those who have difficulty with stairs as the lift only goes to the 2nd floor.

The Canal Grande Hotel in Venice is a beautiful hotel with incredibly friendly and helpful staff!

We will definitely return to this lovely hotel and would recommend it to anyone looking for a well located friendly, boutique period style hotel.

Overall, every one on the staff was friendly and considerate of guest needs.

This room was mentioned by another review because of the small bathroom.

Also the pictures on their website represent the rooms a bit nicer than they are and the bathrooms are very small with limited space to lay out toiletries.

For ladies' information, there is a small hairdryer in the shower room, and lovely smelling shower gel, body lotion and hair shampoo and conditioner.

The suite is lovely, the bathroom a little small.

although the shower was quite small and my husband was too tall for the fittings.

One thing I will say is that the bathrooms are very very small and if you are a tall person you will have to crouch to get in.

This was my 4th time in Venice and I am familiar with the small room situation.

It was served by an elevator to the 2nd floor.

There are a lot of steep stairs and no elevator.

There is no elevator so if you have any problem ask for room at the groundfloor.

but these beds seemed to be consistant with other hotel beds in Italy ( at least for the hotels we stayed in on this tour)
   5 No elevator so if you have mobility issues as for the first floor
   6 Rooms are dark with dim lighting.

My only warning is that this hotel does not have an elevator so if you cannot climb stairs (only 3 floors) request a room on the ground floor).

There is no elevator if you have any issues with stairs.

There isn’t an elevator on the premises

Only negatives were no elevator (there are 3 floors) and no shower curtains/doors.

Not having an elevator, was one of the reasons for the 3 stars

Beware - there are NO elevators and the rooms are up several flights of stairs

Also, there is a city ordinance in Venice that prohibits elevators  – so if you have any problems with stairs you should reserve a room on the first or second floor.

There is no elevator, small thing to keep in mind.

Good breakfast, very friendly staff, good location close to the area where cars are allowed and close to the railway station and everything is within walking distance, loved it.

During our stay we spoke with three at reception, Fabio, Matteo and Alveus, and they were all fantastic - very friendly and welcoming, helpful, and always ready to provide great suggestions for places to eat and things to see and do.

Our room was quite small with twin beds that were hard as a rock, very uncomfortable.

We had a standard triple room which was rather small

Good boutique hotel to stay, The front desk is very helpful of what to see in Venice, Close to the main train station about 5 minutes walk (Venezia Santa Lucia), Close to Pizzale Roma if you are coming by ATVO Bus from Marco Polo airport about 10 minutes walk to the hotel, Close to Vaporetto Waterbus (Ferrovia Station), 20 minutes walk to Realto Bridge and 30 minutes walk to St. Marks Basilica.

The receptionist went out of our way to ensure our comfort.

We thouroughly enjoyed our stay and the friendliness of Matteo and all the staff.

Matteo and all the staff made our stay so relaxed checkin and lovely garden the room was outdated

Train station, vaporetto stop (ferrovia) restaurants gelateria and souvenir shops.Staff is very helpful and caring and polite especially the front desk Alvise..Alvise assured us that we can ask any kind of help if needed questions like porter and directions.

It might be helpful to note that the hotel does have an elevator,

though it required a flight of stairs above the elevator, we didn’ t mind for the extra enjoyment gained.

We stayed in the annex rooms (alloggi rooms) and the access was somewhat inconvenient: take hotel lift to 3rd, walk down a hall and find the stairs, go down to 2nd and enter another door to find your room.

Though some rooms require the use of stairs for part of the way, our 4th floor 'Classic' room was accessible by lift.

However I was so shocked since there was no lift to the room directly.

An old building where many rooms lack access to elevator.

We were on the 1st floor thank goodness as there was no lift for luggage.

Only unpleasant thing about the PeopleMover to the cruise dock was that the up escalator wasn't working and the elevator was having issues, which meant carrying bags up a non-moving escalator.

The one elevator is small so the bellman explained to us that he would meet us at the floor as we got off.

There is a working elevator, and the layout of the hotel is not labyrinthine like some we've seen in Venice.

Ours was #202 and you can use the elevator or stairs to reach it.

So, we got a room somewhere in a near by building, you had to take elevator, pass a long corridor, go down stairs.

Our room is very nice ,facing the canal   Unfortunately our room must be in the old section because to get to our floor 2nd floor, we had to take elevator up to first floor and walk around the hall way and walk up 19 steps to our room.

Finally, some comfort items, like someone all the time in the reception, a luggage room (for sightseeing after checkout), and an elevator to minimizing howling luggage upstairs for four people were definitely pluses.

but that it was on the 5 floor and the lift only went to the 4th.

Awesome staff, friendly and helpful, especially the bell boy (Bangla Deshi) who help to carry our luggage from 6 rooms to the front office.

The staff were friendly and extremely helpful in carrying our bags to our room, suggesting an area restaurant, and arranging a water taxi tour with several other guests from the hotel.

Staff were very friendly and helpful and assisted us in arranging our transfer to the airport.
