Hotel was built in late 60's and has not been updated since.

It's too expensive (based on Bulgarian prices in general) for the conditions.

This is an old hotel and despite all the renovations it is obvious.

For two days the main staircase was closed and one had to use just the elevator, Breakfast is not worth the money - it is very small and is held in the hotel`s cafe where there are no conditions for admitting all guests.

NB - the hotel is in Varna, not Golden Sands (16km distant)  The hotel is need of refurbishment and modernisation,

The hotel fixtures and fittings are old and very my in need of updating.

The small lobby is nicely decorated and we were greeted in a friendly fashion by the female attendant the reception desk.

The staff were very very nice, polite, friendly and helpful.

The guy was friendly with the little English he spoke, on time and didn't mess about; we quickly got used to the standard of driving in Varna!

A comment on previous negative remarks:  The smokers went outside to smoke and we (both non-smokers) did not smell smoke in the hallways or room.

My only complaint about this hotel is the smell of smoke in the hallways/room,

There are only 2 areas of improvement which I can recommend (i) hallways had smell of stale smoke which may be hard to overcome since everyone smokes in Bulagaria (ii) hotel is somewhat difficult to find as it is on a narrow, unlit street

I arrived late and managed to get a standard room at €45 until I checked Trivago and found I could have got it at €38;  I went and pointed this out to Reception

but is very close to a large wide pedestrianised walk that goes for quite a way through shops and bars/cafés it also leads onto the park area and beach.the hotel itself is modern inside and seemed pretty clean and well maintained.the reception breakfast area has a few sofas and around 8 breakfast tables and small side area with tea coffee machine and your cups plates etc.

we spent a week in the hotel next door to the sea gardens and the city the hotel was nice , clean , warm plus the staff are very good and can not do enough for you , the only down side was we booked a taxi and the taxi driver got lost ????

Only downside was not having warm water all day long, so you had to be patience to get a shower..

As far as cons, the bathrooms weren't super clean, and the showers were sometimes cold.

Two Asian men are working here only to get our bolgarian girls into bed.

The beds were very sturdy and there were curtains on them, which was great because i didnt have that loud creaking every time i turn and i didnt hear any snoring.

The mattresses are quite thin, so if you appreciate a bit of cushion underneath you, then you might need to sleep under a towel or blanket.

A kind of Hongkong style accommodation with rectangular bed boxes that ensure at least some privacy with your own curtain, head lamp, locker box and power outlet.

Good hostel, especially for efforts of management team, who were friendly and welcoming.

I stayed here for 2 nights before leaving varna when I saw how clean and friendly the staff were.

The space itself is quite small, so if you value personal space then this hostel is not for you.

but a lot of people on a relatively small space.

I stayed in the lower building close to the reception, so this review is based on this building (in addition, there is a second, tall building close by, also belonging to the hotel).

When you drive up, one of the buildings is a little intimidating,

The best thing one can say about the complex is the green park which is a kind of botanic garden with many beautiful trees.

There were four choises for breakfast and we had to preorder one of them for the next morning.

The only downside was the breakfast as there is no cooked food, everything is cold so if you enjoy an english breakfast this hotel is not for you.

Arrived 12pm staff very friendly my room was ready for me.

As well as the late night clerk whose friendly smile & greetings were a pleasure.

I did so and when I came back later in the afternoon I was asked to pay more since I checked in early. Uh.

They asked to pay in cash the rest part of the bill.

We have been moved three times from room to room /we didn't requested it/.When we went to a second room the sheets were dirty , with spots of body fluids, and under one of the pillows we found a male pants /used/!

but evaded luckily without any serious issues,i called reception and the gentleman came in room,instead of helping me or soothing me,he said ohh my boss will charge you for this mirror around euro30,the hotel room was at that time around US$30,room is US$30 but mirror is euro 30,and 2nd thing,the gentleman consistently bugged me and asked me for the money 5 times,till i run out of patience and call agoda-booking dot com to intervene and they intervened and sort out the issue.

Also, only towels for one person were made available.Toilet paper was not replenished prompting a visit to the Reception Desk later on to request  a roll.

Staff was nice and most of them spoke good English.

Also, want to acknowledge Valentina's friendliness & hospitality.

Breakfast must be ordered to be included in price as additional option at reception.

The atmosphere at the hotel is very friendly, Atanas and Didi, the owners and hosts, made us feel home.

I booked this two week break with my partner and two children, after travelling else where.

The staff have been very unhelpful, expecting us to know where everything is, we weren't given a map or any instructions, or any information about the local area.

Atanas was also kind to give us sun umbrellas for the beach, and some sand toys for the baby.

Sourire constant, accueil tres chaleureux, nombreux services, ordinateur avec internet a disposition dans une petite piece, petit dejeuner compris (plusieurs choix), tres calme, tres propre, prix plus que convenable, rien a redire, je reviendrai avec grand plaisir dans cet hostel!

Rooms were not cleaned every day and we had to demand toilet paper at the reception, where the receptionist was angry to be bothered.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere very untouristy which was exactly what we were after.

Also not all the options on the menu were available to order,

We have horrible experience, where some pre-ordered meals (for group) were simply missing,

but in the last 2 days they told as that the room it's not available any more.

but ok. Now i was unpleasant surprises many times:
- at arriving at front desk (reception) they tell me that the reserved room (for who i paid in advance account) it's not available.

Staff very mostly rude and unfriendly and their kitchen really no big deal.

The villa is very friendly, close to the sea, with many quality things (professional espresso machine, dishwasher and absolutely all the necessary equipment in a villa, including iron), the hosts are very nice people who don't bother you, on the contrary, they bring you very goog cakes and pamper yourself as if you were part of their family.

The owners are extremely kind and willing to help.

The house lady is such a Kind person, she picked me up freely at a placé.
