Having said that, the room and bathroom were a decent size, comfortable and clean and breakfast - which was included - was more than sufficient and a good array of food.

but we're all ok and clean ( we booked 3 rooms ) the tv's had virtually no English channels so bring your own entertainment .the wi-fi is free and worked ok.their are a few routers in the building so you will need to log on to the one that best serves your room,no password needed.i would stay again it was pretty good value£30 for 2 nights with breakfast

The breakfast was perfect for us, many salted options, fruits, muesli.

The room was clean and well appointed, the bathroom excellent and the breakfasts excellent.

The hotel is spotlessly clean and rooms are cleaned every day breakfast is continental style

The following morning we went downstairs for breakfast (which was to be included in the price) only find out that buffet/self serve breakfast was being made available in the LOBBY!!!!

A comment on previous negative remarks:  The smokers went outside to smoke and we (both non-smokers) did not smell smoke in the hallways or room.

My only complaint about this hotel is the smell of smoke in the hallways/room,

There are only 2 areas of improvement which I can recommend (i) hallways had smell of stale smoke which may be hard to overcome since everyone smokes in Bulagaria (ii) hotel is somewhat difficult to find as it is on a narrow, unlit street

Got a taxi from the bus station, had trouble finding the hotel as it’s in a side street with no name advertised outside (why is that)?

The location of hotel is nearby sea-side garden and there are not available parking lots (you have to park on the streets if you can find place).

That said, the view outside our window was of a normal street with people washing their cars, walking into town, etc.

The breakfast is big and nourishing, served in a good environment, overlooking the garden.

I stay in this hotel because of it´s location, is near the park and the beach in a really beautiful zone of Varna, the price was good, the breakfast is good is tasty, the things i didn´t like is that the beds are hard and the bathroom have a weird smell,

Hotel was built in late 60's and has not been updated since.

It's too expensive (based on Bulgarian prices in general) for the conditions.

This is an old hotel and despite all the renovations it is obvious.

For two days the main staircase was closed and one had to use just the elevator, Breakfast is not worth the money - it is very small and is held in the hotel`s cafe where there are no conditions for admitting all guests.

but dated and would benefit from refurbishment.

NB - the hotel is in Varna, not Golden Sands (16km distant)  The hotel is need of refurbishment and modernisation,

The hotel fixtures and fittings are old and very my in need of updating.

there are shared toilets and showers on the 2nd floor- 2 of each.

Only downside was not having warm water all day long, so you had to be patience to get a shower..

As far as cons, the bathrooms weren't super clean, and the showers were sometimes cold.

The atmosphere of the hostel is cold and spartan.

I was in a room with much noisy due to the traffic.

people would be going back and forth in the morning, which was slightly disturbing when i was sleeping late due to a night out or something.

Just when someone flushed the toilet next to the shower room, water pressure was very low for about 30 seconds (and eventually the water got colder temporarily).

During my stay the water wasn't really hot when showering.

The waitress at breakfast was the most abrasive venomous creature i have experienced since i got divorced.

The attached restaurant serves snack food and a simple breakfast which was reasonable value.

Staff was great and even made us breakfast boxes for our early departure.

but there was the smell of smoke in a non-smoking room.

Drinks were a vile acidic nescafe machine or orange squash of the type you might expect at a party for small children.

The shower hose was broken and water was dripping everywhere, no pressure in the shower.

The striking things about the place are: on the outside, it looks deserted (we didn’t even feel like entering the hotel when we arrived); the breakfast (not even worth getting into details about it.

There is a nice outdoor pool and it has also a little private beach, with a nice terrace, where you can eat cheap delicious food.

Ask the guards where is located reception, because first building that you see is old journalist center.

I stayed in the lower building close to the reception, so this review is based on this building (in addition, there is a second, tall building close by, also belonging to the hotel).

What they call coffee is a hot brown water having the taste of .

Two persons in a room only get towels for one person.

A suggestion for improvement would be to change towels more often,

Two Asian men are working here only to get our bolgarian girls into bed.

The beds were very sturdy and there were curtains on them, which was great because i didnt have that loud creaking every time i turn and i didnt hear any snoring.

The mattresses are quite thin, so if you appreciate a bit of cushion underneath you, then you might need to sleep under a towel or blanket.

A kind of Hongkong style accommodation with rectangular bed boxes that ensure at least some privacy with your own curtain, head lamp, locker box and power outlet.

The breakfast provided isn't much of anything, it's basically just some meat, cheese, bread, and cereal.

The space itself is quite small, so if you value personal space then this hostel is not for you.

but a lot of people on a relatively small space.

The place is super small, so look elsewhere if you're hung up on private space.

but they're not the most comfortable spaces around.

At breakfast time you get to try a typical Bulgarian breakfast buffet with seasonal fruits, cold meats, pasta, local pastries and vegetables.

Breakfast is a buffet spread with a good variety of tasty food and treats!

Unfortunately, due to family reasons, we had to cancel the holiday, and after a brief exchange with the owners, the deposit was returned without any haste.

Anyways we ordered food from Foodpanda and Takeaway.

I guess this wouldn't be a problem when one travels with older children and can visit restaurants nearby.
