but temperature a bit high when we arrived.

Thankfully by the time we arrived (9ish) they were still serving food, as the area the hotel is situated in is very industrial, so there’s no where else to grab a bit to eat unless you popped into the garage next door for some snacks.

We were asked at check-in if we wanted to eat in the restaurant, which we did.

The checking in procedure was lengthy and I could not understand why my wife had to sign a separate check in.

Checkout was just as abrupt as the check in.

Our room overlooked the front of the hotel which proved extremely noisy as there was a commercial market opposite and logistics centre to the rear of the hotel with lorries arriving and departing all night.

Be aware that there is not a great deal of parking space, so if arriving late by car you may find you have to park in a larger area adjacent to the hotel, which is less well lit.

Another 40 minutes after ordering our dinner it arrived

We arrived a bit late so we couldn't choose from the main menu.

On our last trip we arrived on Easter Sunday and thought maybe the restaurant wouldn't be open

We arrived on a national holiday, so there was not much open in the town.

Parking was not available when we arrived and had to use the adjacent petrol station, was expecting something a bit more secure.

Unfortunately on this particular trip the normal meal selection was not available,for which the hotel apologised and made quite clear when we were checking in.

On arrival we wrere informed that due to staff difficulties no meals were available.

Just on point, if you get chance to ask, request a room at the rear of the hotel because opposite there is a distribution centre with lorries arriving and leaving at all times of the night which can be a little noisy if you have a window open for fresh air at night.

I left the hotel at 7 am and arrived in Rabat at 6pm the same day (I would not recommend this to anyone who wants to enjoy the wonderful cities of Salamancha, Caceres and Sevilla…).

We even had to buy a bottle of cold water for our dog to drink as the water coming out of the tap in the room was warm!

The water pipes on the shower had been connected the wrong way so despite running the shower for a while it produced cold water until turning the handle to the cold position when it ran hot which was dangerous as the water was very Hot!

People on the other table had the chicken and it was dry and cold, and they couldn't eat it.

When I was working on my computer  next to the window I could feel the cold, there was not a double window and I could hear  the noise from outside.

I had to telephone the hotel from my car and after difficulty explaining where I was and what had happened I had to wait whilst they found somebody with a remote fob to open the door and let me out.

We immediately sent it back, waited another 20 minutes only to have it bought back still cold.

The only thing I would complain about was the fact that the poor staff are supposed to cover the bar, the reception, (including all guest check-ins, room service calls and outide calls and book reservations), serve at the bar and wait in the resturant From around 4 pm there was just 1 staff member doing everything apart from cook the food.

Breakfast was exceptional with lots of choice - the breakfast room was very busy

However, the  Hotel was very busy and service in the restaurant and lounge/bar suffered as a result.

Also, we prefer to eat at the McDonalds 100 m away, rather than the restaurant, because we have found the food to be very poor and, not surprisingly perhaps, almost nobody eats there even when the hotel is otherwise busy.

but it gets ridiculously busy; think Oxford Street in the 1980's when McD's first came to town.

The hall carpets could do with a clean/freshen up.

The carpet also had weird stains on it and the hallways had an odd smell.

Carpet is quite dirty with many spots all over. Bathroom.

The carpets throughout the hote needed to be replaced as they were quite worn and stained.

One slight issue was the shower door did not close completely and water actually leaked into the bedroom, thus staining the carpet.

I was shocked to find bare electrical cables behind the curtains (photo attached).

plenty of power sockets for phone chargers, computer etc once we found the 4 socket extension lead hidden on the wall below the TV, otherwise we would have had to unplug the desk lamp.

Reception were especially helpful upon arrival in finding a mobile phone repair specialist to fix a broken screen on my Google tablet.

However, to better attend our needs, would have been better if the mini-bar fridge was empy, as is the case in other Novotel outlets.

If you don't bring your laptop with you, there's also one computer free to use.

I really don't understand some of the negative reviews on here as on both occasions we have found the staff to be professional, friendly and extremely helpful and it is clear to us that they really enjoy their work; particularly the young ladies on reception and the bar staff.

but the location is not bad at all and receptionist actually speaks fluent English, which is kinda miracle in this part of Spain.

The pleasant receptionist said it was always like that in Winter.

on asking at reception, was directed to the bar where there were no obvious staff so i had to take a couple of takeaway cups from the restaurant (which also had no staff there).

After staying at various Airbnb's, monestaries, and inns, it was nice to spend a night in a well appointed, clean, modern, and spacious hotel!

It was extremely clean, the junior suite we stayed in was modern and very spacious, the underground parking was very convenient.

It is central for station, shopping, and wandering, and our room was really good, great beds, all essentials, and clean and tidy.

While sleeping, housekeeping knocked on door, opened door, saw the room dark and immediately closed it once they saw we were still sleeping.

Try to avoid a Monday as most attractions are closed.

Stayed for 1 night on a business trip and I was very impressed with this hotel, the reception area felt very welcoming and the staff were friendly and efficient, just what I needed after a long day travelling and being in meetings.

but the Manager decided to close it to guests without warning.

The hotel is exceptionally well located and it has parking (through a vehicle elevator - better for smaller cars. .).

I took a walk every morning with my son in the Campo Grande, the streets were quaint and clean.

Whilst the GPS showed us where the hotel was located, driving to it proved tricky, as so many of the streets are one way or cars are excluded.

Hotel Gareus is set on a quiet street just a 5-6 minute walk from the train station.

There are restaurants and cafés nearby, as well as a take out sushi place across the street if you are craving something light.

The hotel is walking distance from the main square and streets you want to visit in Valladolid.

The location of this hotel is premium : close to the shopping streets, restaurants and the Plaza Mayor.

Loved the 'car elevator' from street level to below - a first for us.

Comfortable bed and no street noise, bathroom had plenty of room and amenities.

We arrived and found it easily with the GPS, be aware a lot of the surrounding streets are one way so be patient!!

The same time tt takes only ten minutes to get main shopping street Calle Santiago and Plaza Mayor (Main Square) by walk from that hotel.

We had breakfast at a café across the street.

It's on a quiet side street, just off a main road, with some shops and restaurants.

There were also 2 floor to ceiling double French doors opening onto Juliet balconies with a view over a side street.

Couple minute walk to Campo Grande, 10 or so minutes along a nice pedestrian street to Plaza Mayor and all the wonderful tapas and bars in the area.

The location is very nice, across the street on one side from a huge park called Campo Grande which has many walking trails fountains and peacocks.

Quiet street, quiet rooms, excellent service.

Hotel is well situated in a quiet side street, 10 mins walk to the Plaza Major.

but it worked for us since the next day we walked to the train station to take the train back to Madrid.

This is a very pleasant and comfortable hotel well located between the old heart of Valladolid and the train station - a short 5-7 minute walk.

The hotel itself is a short walk to the Plaza Mayor and is around the corner from the Central Park.

Convenient location near the train station and only 5 minutes walk from city centre.

Love the fact that it's only a 10 minute walk pulling your bag from the train station.

We arrive by train and got to the hotel by walking it took 5 to 8 minutes, the hotel is modern and clean, the breakfast is good not to many options

The walking in closet, the great bathroom, bed, ceiling windows, lighting, truly one of the best value-for-money rooms anywhere this side of the world.

Nonetheless, all shops, bars and city center are within a 5 minute walk.

5-10 mins walk and you are in the centre square of Valladolid.

Since I arrived by train, I sure appreciated that the hotel is only a five minute walk - even with a roller back, backpack and guitar.

We walked into the town centre for dinner - only about 15 minutes.

Lots of walks locally including to the Plaza Mayor and Recoletos.

The park is a 5 minute walk if you want a little peace and quiet.

The Junior suite on the 3th floor was large and quite,although you are only a 10 minutes walk away from the centre and the HST train station.

though one has to wait and, in the morning, I like to walk around the buffet to see what it offers.

That’s why you no need any transportation to get the hotel, it will take seven minutes to walk to hotel from railway station.

However, the most impressive aspect of this hotel, was the friendly service of the staff.

There is plenty to do and see if you want to spend two or three days there and people are really friendly.

We were welcomed by the general manager Roberto, who was extremely friendly and immediately took out a map of Valladolid to show us the most important highlights of the city.

Staff was very friendly and understanding of our  kids sometimes running around.

The personnel was friendly, went out of their way to please, hotel is neat and comfortable.

The only part that wasn't 100% great was that the double single bed room that we had was quite small.

but ok.
Staff - female receptionist was helpful but went off at midday and the replacement male would barely acknowledge me.
