The food was very nice and reasonably priced, with good, friendly service - in fact all of the staff were very friendly and spoke good English, which was useful as our Spanish is pretty weak!

This is the first in our stay in Ibis hotels where we have to pay from the moment we enter the hotel.We asked receptionist Mayte Martin if she can leave the credit card open for drink or food.But refused telling us this is the hotel rules.

The communal areas - lift, stairwell, hallways - are all very tired and in need of some cosmetics, and these areas also feel very impersonal and detached from the busy open plan reception/bar/restaurant area.

but the receptionist informed us that it would be open but only serving snacks.

Just on point, if you get chance to ask, request a room at the rear of the hotel because opposite there is a distribution centre with lorries arriving and leaving at all times of the night which can be a little noisy if you have a window open for fresh air at night.

Only problem was the inadequate air conditiioning and the noise from outside when the window was open. As usual with hotels in Spain there were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room (we usually take our own!)

So the accommodation was good let down by poor service and rubbish food

Basically, the standard Ibis offering in room quality and inconvenient location … an average Ibis experience marred by poor oversight by either the management in not providing adequate training or a total lack of communication from the corporate office of Accor.

Like any country, you might find hostelries that have poor standards, are inaccessible, or just plain scary!

Wished we had read Restaurant Reviews as Breakfast was very, very poor (worst of all the IBIS's that we had stayed in so far) a short walk to a massive Carrefour, finds an excellent breakfast Restaurant.

This is not a criticism of the hotel or it's staff, we just felt sorry for the poor, overworked people there who were trying their best to do too many jobs.

The staff are very welcoming, the rooms clean and a decent selection of good value food.

Our room was warm & clean the wifi was excellent , the bed was clean very comfortable, peaceful no noise, shower clean and hot, the continental breakfast was very nice,the day time staff also very kind,most impressed will stay again, thank you

Stayed for 1 night on a business trip and I was very impressed with this hotel, the reception area felt very welcoming and the staff were friendly and efficient, just what I needed after a long day travelling and being in meetings.

The only difficult thing about this hotel was the “no warning” nor any advanced information provided about the parking situation upon check in.

Evidently, the Do not disturb sign has a different meaning at this hotel.

"We write it everywhere in the parking and on the reception desk" - it was a small square in the very corner, indicating that the price for one day parking was 16.50 euro.

One word of warning, the street level entrance is actually the first floor, getting bags down to reception can be a bit of a problem.

Difficult to find on Sat Nav as it sends you down a bus and taxi lane and there is not a hotel sign.

We all were very enthusiastic about this place.

While this is an absolutely beautiful hotel and located insanely well in the heart of the city; it's getting a 3/5 due to the blatant lie at the front desk.

Starting with Cristina at reception, an absolute pro with a great attitude and sense of humour.

The hotel is exceptionally well located and it has parking (through a vehicle elevator - better for smaller cars. .).

Valladolid is an undiscovered gem of a city, oozing with class and friendly, helpful people.

The staff were friendly and helpful, especially the famous Roberto whose excellent English and knowledge of the city, its tapas bars, restaurants and historical buildings was invaluable to the first time visitor.

However, the most impressive aspect of this hotel, was the friendly service of the staff.

There is plenty to do and see if you want to spend two or three days there and people are really friendly.

We were welcomed by the general manager Roberto, who was extremely friendly and immediately took out a map of Valladolid to show us the most important highlights of the city.

Staff was very friendly and understanding of our  kids sometimes running around.

The personnel was friendly, went out of their way to please, hotel is neat and comfortable.

The only part that wasn't 100% great was that the double single bed room that we had was quite small.

The room had a very small window looking out on a wall;  hardly any light came in.

I mentioned this as we checked out as a suggestion for housekeeping and was told there was a duvet in the cupboard - we didn’t see one. Shower thermostat broken (?)

The only problem we had was with the air conditioning and we could only cool the room by opening the windows.

The only con would be the air conditioning of the breakfast room: temperature kept too low, many people felt it unconfortable.

This is a friendly comfortable hotel 2 1/2 hours from Santander.

A late night check in went very smoothly with a friendly staff member - room very clean and modern- kettle and tea in the room - beautiful bathroom - all clean and sparkling- great double bed - quiet as well

The Hotel was clean and near to some Bars and Shopping Center what was also really good, the room was nice and the employes were friendly.

The staff were incredibly nice to us and our children, we felt very at home.

When we arrived I explained the situation again to the receptionist who again turned me down flat when I asked for consideration to the €90 I had lost to them.

Amazing staff, great hospitality and nice atmosphere, they helps you with a smile, and are always accessible, and they provide a lovely breakfast buffet not the least.

Towels are available from reception with a deposit of 5 euros.

though it could be a bit noisy at night with people out on the street.

The walls on this floor are paper thin, and you can hear everything (especially bathroom noises) from next door.

On the downside, no air con which meant I had to leave the window open - and this was an attic room so no view - and therefore had all the noise from the street and bin emptying at 3am.

Rooms at the front of the hotel can be a little noisy until late evening,

but you can hear people walking very loudly early morning and fire alarm test 9.30 am .

A problem is they have not so good windows and in the morning you will hear every car.

but meant it was a little noisy in the morning.

On the Saturday night there was some noise from the street below

Breakfast was served in the cafe next to reception, it is also open to the public.

The hotel is simple, clean, with gentle staff, contemporary interiors.

The staff was very pleasant and spoke English.

Possibly the cleanest room I’ve seen in a long time, very accommodating staff, garage service, great location in walking distance to major attractions and shops and restaurants around Plaza Mayor and Calle de Correos.

The walls are a bit thin and the person in the room next to me seemed to be coughing the entire time they were in the room.

The room is small, the bathroom smaller, and the only window a small one high up on the wall - very claustrophobic.

Also, there was quite a lot of work going on around the hotel to repair walls and decorate which was a little annoying.

You're not waken up every hour throughout the whole night by the cathedral bells like you are in the others (especially the Hotel Catedral).
