Nothing was open  - not even the museums.

This is the first in our stay in Ibis hotels where we have to pay from the moment we enter the hotel.We asked receptionist Mayte Martin if she can leave the credit card open for drink or food.But refused telling us this is the hotel rules.

The communal areas - lift, stairwell, hallways - are all very tired and in need of some cosmetics, and these areas also feel very impersonal and detached from the busy open plan reception/bar/restaurant area.

but the receptionist informed us that it would be open but only serving snacks.

Just on point, if you get chance to ask, request a room at the rear of the hotel because opposite there is a distribution centre with lorries arriving and leaving at all times of the night which can be a little noisy if you have a window open for fresh air at night.

Only problem was the inadequate air conditiioning and the noise from outside when the window was open. As usual with hotels in Spain there were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room (we usually take our own!)

So the accommodation was good let down by poor service and rubbish food

Basically, the standard Ibis offering in room quality and inconvenient location … an average Ibis experience marred by poor oversight by either the management in not providing adequate training or a total lack of communication from the corporate office of Accor.

Like any country, you might find hostelries that have poor standards, are inaccessible, or just plain scary!

Wished we had read Restaurant Reviews as Breakfast was very, very poor (worst of all the IBIS's that we had stayed in so far) a short walk to a massive Carrefour, finds an excellent breakfast Restaurant.

This is not a criticism of the hotel or it's staff, we just felt sorry for the poor, overworked people there who were trying their best to do too many jobs.

Room was very clean and comfortable, easy WiFi log in, excellent buffet breakfast with a huge choice of fruit, cereal, bread, croissants, juices, coffee etc.

Internally, the hotel is very clean and my room was likewise , with a good sized bathroom.

The Hotel is in the Heart of Valladolid just off the Plaza Mayor.The Hotel was central to all shopping, resturants and parks all within walking distance.The rooms were very clean with a down stairs sitting area and resturant.

The only part that wasn't 100% great was that the double single bed room that we had was quite small.

The room had a very small window looking out on a wall;  hardly any light came in.

The room was very clean and it was ok in size and facilities.

Very decent hotel with most amenities, clean rooms and very well placed for the old town. Access to the hotel by car is over a zebra crossing and along a pedestrian precinct and garage access is via a lift (very unusual)

This is a really lovely hotel, with very good service, ultra clean rooms, and private underground car-parking right in the centre of the city.

I was only put off by the scent of the shower gel (the fake orange smell reminds me of medcine and toilet air freshner), the size of the bed (was slightly on the short side for someone who's not that tall), room temperature (too hot even with the heating turned off) and the fact that there's no electical plug near the bed to charge your phone whilst sleeping.

If they put in real airconditioning it would be 4 stars.

Room is either hot or cold and do not know why the cleaning staff insist to leave the window open to the Sun when this place gets Summer afternoon Sun.

Only problema was that I was on the third floor, which gets sun all afternoon and the air conditioning wasn't working (they only have "hot" and "cold" settings so the in-between seasons of Spring & Autum you suffer).

We were able to park safely for free in the street, in front, and there were a couple of nearby bars that did a nice cheap breakfast,

If you need a clean room with no frills, this is an excellent choice for a hotel.

If you’re in Valladolid, it’s a great place to stay and if you don’t fancy walking a taxi costs between €4-€5 euro

A taxi to the city center costs 5 euros, and there is a bus stop just in front of the main door.

but very overpriced for the low standard of the hotel.

However, in its favour are its great location (right in the centre of the city, very near the Plaza Mayor) and the price - it's now not a very expensive hotel.

but that would have been an expensive way to eat there.

We paid 107 euro for a double, which in my opinion was slightly high for what you got.

Our advice, if you have to stay here take earplugs and sleeping pills.

There was a weird aircon unit mounted under the window, noisy and not very effective.

Rooms on the front of the hotel can be quite noisy late into the night at the weekends so if a quite night is what you want, get a room at the back.

Only downside was noise from street - would help if windows closed properly and if they were double glazed.

My single room was small and shabby and did not have some basic facilities such as a hairdryer, full length mirror and loo brush.

It is SO noisy, walls paper thin, we could hear next room conversations (and worse) bathroom visits, and people walking, talking, shouting, IN the hotel.

but I really liked the decoration (specially the pictures on the walls and the vintage look), the view from the balcony (in the front bedrooms, as mine was unfortunately in the back of the hotel), the staff and the amazing place where it is situated.

but they happily changed it, all the walls and ceilings in my room remained intact, the neighbours in the street were exceptionally noisy (until 4:30 am) but we were given an internal room instead (others in our party were not so lucky as they did not have enough rooms to change all of us) so all in all it was not nearly as bad as I was expecting.

The WIFI connection was lousy, breakfast was overcrowded and below par, several builders were banging away within my floor at 8:30 am and the rooms were old-fashioned and in need of a serious facelift.

but really struggled to sleep on any of the nights as the street outside the hotel was extremely noisy with drunk people walking between bars and nightclubs until at least 4.30AM.

but up a side road and the only sign for the place in the Plaza is right up on top of the eight story building so if you miss it first time round you are condemned to a long around the houses – or rather one way street system – trip to get back to it.

I say half glass fronted as the windows sat on top a solid wall so to look out one had to stand up.

The hotel is in need of renovation for the rooms to stay more up to date, for example the pillows are the long ones, the walls weren't completely clean and there were some broken pieces in the corner.

I went into breakfast on the first morning.

What's more, the walls were thin (so I could hear phone calls and TV from adjoining rooms) and the pillow was extremely uncomfortable.

Arriving by car it's a bit difficult to find and the parking sign is mostly obscured by a tree.

I even arrived 30 minutes late for breakfast and the lady responsible for breakfast told me to go to the cafeteria and brought me a coffee, some juice, pastries and sandwiches.

There was one negative on arrival regarding the restaurant.

We found it easy to find by car and very pleased that we had access to the limited carpark  - places can’t be reserved and if you arrive on a weekday you might be very lucky to get one; weekends less of a problem.

Make sure you do not book internal room basically no windows.

In my minibar I found a used bottle of water which had been re-filled with tap water and the lid placed back on.

The hotel is located in a very isolated area in the outskirts of Madrid far from everywhere and with very poor transport connections.

Really don't know where to start, parked in the underground car park, no signage as to where to go and no lights,  Long check in only one poor girl on.

This was my least favourite stay with an NH hotel, the entrance area smelt of stale body odour, the rooms were clean

Outside this problem with air-conditioned (took us about one hour waiting and changing rooms) our stay in this hotel was very good, with spacious and clean room, quiet street and good parking garage, easy to maneuver.

Rooms are clean and beds are good, bathroom is well equipped.

The room was clean and it was lovely to sleep in, with good quality pillows and a cozy atmosphere.

Very small room wanted €4 for a bottle of water.

Our room was rather small with a huge sofa that was too big for the room.

Hotel staff are friendly, rooms small, matress (double bed) moves when partner moves.

It is a very short walk to what looked like an exhibition centre and the area around the hotel is residential so I suspect that their normal clientele are business travellers.

We had already been traveling for some time and needed a few days to just rest a bit.

Can't fault much about this hotel except to say that the WiFi can be very slow, which is always frustrating for us business travelers.

but leisure travellers should rather look for a more charming place.

They seemed more geared towards the business traveler.

I mentioned this as we checked out as a suggestion for housekeeping and was told there was a duvet in the cupboard - we didn’t see one. Shower thermostat broken (?)

The only problem we had was with the air conditioning and we could only cool the room by opening the windows.

The only con would be the air conditioning of the breakfast room: temperature kept too low, many people felt it unconfortable.

After the aggressive old man had a long conversation with the manager, his colleague handed me the phone and I reported the incident over the phone in reception to the manager.

but hope the management weed out the poor staff or improve performance so making the experience what it should be.

A late night check in went very smoothly with a friendly staff member - room very clean and modern- kettle and tea in the room - beautiful bathroom - all clean and sparkling- great double bed - quiet as well
