This hotel exceeded by expectations, from the hospitality of Luis at the front desk to the nicely renovated rooms to the beautiful view I had of the bay (I took this photo from my window)!

The location is excellent, close to ferry building and market, and we had amazing views of the bay and the bay bridge.

Immediately we were greeted with probably the best hospitality I’ve seen at a hotel, Michael was very kind to move us up to a great room with a gorgeous view of Bay Bridge, and offer us a complementary bottle of wine without extra charge.

It's an easy walk to the Ferry Bldg in a nice quiet area with lovely views of the bay bridge.

The rooms facing The Embarcadero have a great view of the Bay bridge from the windows.

Great bay view, super restaurant, comfy beds, quiet room.

The windows were right by the top of the roof with vents between two buildings.

Good places to eat next door and free YMCA gym in adjacent building to exercise.

the buildings surrounding the area are huge and beautiful to walk around!

So cool that it was an old YMCA building prior.

Plus it’s beautiful old historical building ( the old YMCA) that welcomes dogs!!!

and pays homage to the historical YMCA building.

I would suggest arriving to front of building as great first impression rather than the back.

We met Todd the GM in the lobby one day and he was super nice and a pleasure to talk to about the history of the building and the new renovations.

Great staff, great location, beautiful historical building, fabulous views, a fantastic restaurant… And all the details are just right!

Close to the Ferry Building and an easy walk to the ball park.

It’s conveniently close to the BART embarcadero station and within easy walking distance of the Ferry Building and the Exploratorium.

There is a quiet, stylish ambience that rolls through the foyer and throughout the building.

We were able to walk to baseball’s Oracle Park, enjoy snacks at the Ferry  Building  and even walk to Ghirardelli Square.

The prime location can't be beat, right on the embarcadero and the ferry building is across the street!

I appreciate that you still get a feeling for history in the old YMCA building.

It’s so close to the water, and the Ferry Building.

The location is great--it's practically at the foot of the Bay Bridge, and so close to the Ferry Building that a short walk gets you there.

Paid $721.20 for a tiny room right next to the roof vent.

Paid more than a stay at St. Regis for a very uncomfortable stay.

There is an amenity fee, not sure if we were charged even when amenities are closed on Sunday and early on Saturday,

but high speed internet is a bit overpriced.

-$40 resort fee per night was not included in the initial price and only made aware of it when checking out
-Location: great for the Ferry building and Giant game; otherwise you are kind of away from the more interesting parts of the city.

Booked a package that seemed a bit pricey.

The room felt a bit too dark to be practical in the evenings and 3) the TV setup isn’t great - no premium cable, on demand movies, streaming and given SAMSUNG brand no ability to mirror from Apple devices.

Too expensive for the room so small they have and for the service they give, the hotel was very noisy at night and during the early mornings with a lot of blows
I would never recommend it and I have asked my company to never offer it again to the workers because it is really a bad experience.

Pro tip: The valet parking fee is outrageous - upwards of $60 - so it's worth skipping this and finding a parking deal on your own.

Also note the coffee and wine are NOT FREE, the fee is included in the “hidden fees” - the occupancy tax you will be requested to pay at the checkout. Surprise!

But then I ask a simple question to one of the gals at night a question about amenity fee she told me that’s just how it is $30 a night that’s just how it is told me that no way out of fee I should choose Hyatt down the street if I don’t want a fee.

Unless you pay for a bay view room, you get a view of a dirty AC unit.

If you do not arrive by Ferry and arrive by car, there is a large valet fee for parking.

but in my comparison of SF hotel rates I guessed I missed it.

We wouldn't stay here again unless we somehow got a really great rate to offset the negatives.

We had a bay facing room which had incredible views.

I went to the front desk and asked about the bay view room, they made the appropriate accommodations and got me the best room, especially since it was my birthday, I'm very pleased that the young man with dreads did for us.

Loved the happy hour at 5 and the view from the room was truly spectacular.

A bay view room would be best, an interior view room if noise is a concern, city view if value and view are your priorities.

We had a Bay Bridge View room and you will find yourself staring out the window watching the scenery every minute you are in the room, truly stunning and makes you realize how spectacular California and SF truly are.

Cons: Maybe I missed in reviews how small the rooms were because if I had known this, I would have never booked the room.

Overall it's nothing special anyways : small room, poor breakfast in a nice location.

I would have given this 5 stars  except for some basic things on the margin:  1) room was a bit small and felt much like a European style room in its size 2) the lighting was quite poor and didn’t allow for lighting customization in the evening.

After turning on the airco, I called down to guest services as there were only 6 hangers in the closet (not nearly enough for a 3 night stay).

Especially the AC which was no functioning on our first night.

Rooms are sparsely furnished, floor was soaked from a leaking radiator.

It is a bit of a cheek that you have to pay separately for milk with tea or cereal…
One down side was that the room was quite noisy - the air con was very loud indeed, and there was some (expected) seaplane noise,

However our bedroom window was disgusting , soiled outside with bird excrement on one pane, another pane was obscured due to the window unit having condensation within it.

Several seals in the double pane windows had failed, causing condensation to form between the glass panes.

We honestly would have stayed anywhere with air con that accepted pets,

The bathroom is massive and every surface is dated stone that is not heated so it's freezing on your feet and this hotel doesn't provide slippers like every other hotel has this month.

The air conditioning system desperately needs replacing.

Only complaint was the air conditioner was in the bedroom unit and as usual its pretty hard to sleep when that noise is going right next to your bed.

but the Seafood Benny really blew us away!

The air con units in the rooms have to be the noisiest I have ever experienced and click on and off during the night.

They still have the box ventilation system (no modern hotel has that) that’s over 30-40 years old.. Don’t let the pictures fool you.

During the night the heating unit was on all night so it was still quite warm.

As a relatively minor point the pedestrian entrance to the parking garage was defective so the only means of access to the car was via the vehicle barrier, reception was aware of this

Surprisingly though no fan in the bathroom

One drawback is that the bathroom lacks an exhaust fan.

The room: We got a room with a window that was completely full of condensation.

Our room was damp, musty and dark with an a/c which had no immediate control ability and funny noises through the night - that being not the biggest deal. After we fell asleep for the night we were woken up by a dog fight (?)

The room we had had a balcony overlooking the harbour, a huge bathroom and two large beds with a fridge and kettle.

Our room was a good size with a small balcony overlooking the harbour.

If I was ever back here, I would stretch the budget and go for an Ericsson wing room with a harbour view.

Our room # 305 had the most amazing view of the inner harbour and we were captivated by the activity on the water.

Our room had a superb view of the inner harbour and was great for watching the seaplanes’ “runway” and the water ferries coming and going.

We purposely picked the Laurel side of the hotel for its location with views of the Inner Harbour.

Room had a wonderful view over the harbour, bed was very comfortable.

We went and stayed for my Husbands birthday and the room was very nice with a view of the inner harbour .

A short walk along the harbour front to downtown Victoria, we found friendly staff, stunningly good breakfasts with a harbour view, a room with a west facing water view, and comfortable accommodation.

If you go in the other direction you will come across Fisherman's Wharf.

A 6-7 minute walk to the beautiful Fisherman's Wharf and about 15 minute to the city centre and main harbour area.

however the enthusiasm and friendliness of the staff is worth a special mention, as is the location towards the inner harbour with the City a manageable walking distance as was the nearby Fisherman's Wharf with its eateries and 'alcohol enclosures'.

The pool was a big hit when my children were little, and we love how "walkable" it is with the closeness to the Fisherman's Wharf and the Dallas Road walkway, and easy access to Beacon Hill Park and the Petting Zoo.

It is the perfect location to be based in for exploring Victoria with amazing views of inner harbour, the float planes coming in and out and the floating houses of fisherman's wharf.

My corner room (number 306) was huge with a sitting area (including a chair and a pull-out couch), a large balcony, a full-sized dresser, and an excellent view of the bay and Fisherman's Wharf.

but with easy access to central Victoria and Fisherman's Wharf.

Short walk round the corner to quirky Fisherman's Wharf.

Location places it close to Fisherman's Wharf and outside of the noise of the most inner part of the harbour.

The hotel is located on a point along the trail that connects old town Victoria to Fisherman's Wharf (and Fisherman's Wharf is where you get on a lot of the whale watching excursions).

The hotel location is perfect - a short walking distance to downtown Victoria or to Fisherman's Wharf in the other direction, and just removed enough from the hustle and bustle to be restful.

Also, such a short walk to the cute Fisherman's Wharf area.

The location was terrific, just a short walk to Fisherman's Wharf.

It's within walking distance to the Empress, the Museum, Imax, Downtown, fisherman's wharf and the beautiful harbour!

It has a great location just steps away from the Victoria Clipper with a short walk to downtown one way and Fisherman's Wharf the other way.

We could see Victoria Harbor from our room and we had a balcony to see the breathtaking garden that is only available for guests and staff.

If we had realized that we needed to specify a higher floor, and one that faced the outer harbor then that would have helped us enjoy the stay.

Located on the end of Laurel Point, the inn provides lovely views of the inner and outer harbors as well as sunrise and sunset views.

This hotel is on a peninsula overlooking Victoria’s Inner Harbor.

The Inn is roughly mid-way between the most popular inner harbor destinations and the Fisherman’s Wharf, about a half mile each way.

And justifying "location", well, there are 3 dozen hotels and B&Bs within walking distance of Inner Harbor, so really, not saying much.

but after having been shown a room on the Erickson wing directly facing the outer harbor we upgraded to that.

In total we had 10 rooms, all with views over the harbour - there was 1 issue with a room in that the view certainly wasn’t the best

The hotel is in great location and easy walk to the downtown area and wonderful views of the harbour.

The rooms were super clean, if you can request anything before your visit, get a higher floor and request a bay view.

Parking is easily accessed and convenient
If you manage to get a room that faces the harbour the views are great - you can watch all the action including ferries and seaplanes.

Preface to this: If you’re on a work trip or traveling solo/as a couple, the spectacular harbour views will make you forget everything.

we had two swivel chairs in the room to enjoy the view of the harbour and downtown Victoria.

but a short walk will do the trick, and you got a great view of the bay.

We booked a view room looking out over Victoria Harbour and it was totally worth it especially at night when you can see the lights of the Parliament Building and downtown.

Our Deluxe King, Olympic Water View Room included a large balcony provides an amazing water view I only with it had a glass barrier to soften the impact of the breezes).

The location was perfect, the staff were friendly and helpful, our room overlooking the harbour was amazing and the BED!

In the hotel room, there were bottles of water and the “waterdrops” were flavoured water enhancers to use with the water bottles.

The location of the hotel is great, from the harbour views, the 7 minute walk into down town to the many many bars, restaurants and shops, the hotel also has its own water taxi dock with very easy booking.

Also has a water taxi stop right outside of it.

I love the microwave, refrigerator, plates utensils, hot water pot, coffee maker.

The hotel is perfectly located and very easy walk into downtown or the water taxi which is about $10-13 to ride.

You can catch the little pickle water taxis just below the hotel which is convenient.

There are water taxis that stop at the hotel which will also get you there and several other spots on the harbor.

Also, the hop on hop off bus and the water taxi stop right by the Hotel.
