Breakfast was included in our room rate and was excellent.

The breakfast in Horizon is  quiet varied and the personnel is very listening to your needs(thanks Mounir and waiter Salem and all the team!).

Special mention to the breakfast crew of Abir, Hammem,  Houcime and Sameh who were a Ray of sunshine every morning.

The breakfast buffet was also wonderful, and we cannot forget the wonderful view of the hotel with the beautiful facilities.

First ,the breakfast was so good in the horizon restaurant with excellent service with sir Mounir and his staff  (Houcine ,abir ,Sami,Adam. .)

Customer service is fantastic throughout the hotel, more so with service on the pool, in room, at reception and less so at the breakfast area.

Amazing location, comfortable bedding, generous breakfast buffet and most importantly very professional staff starting with WIEM and her colleagues at the reception who swiftly accommodated our requests.

Also Abir at the morning breakfast place gave us the best experience she made sure we have everything that we needed and more.

The breakfast was royal and delicious, the staff was very friendly and professional !

Horizon was lovely, great selection of breakfast, handmade omelette with all the extras, pastries, good coffee, watch out for the beetroot water which looks like cranberry juice though!

The breakfast buffet is very high quality and the service is attentive.

Had a wonderful time - breakfast is a dream , service in general is good , I had also use the spa facility for a massage, and hairdresser and it was amazing , Lilia the masseuse has heaven hands and she was very careful as I’m also pregnant.

I complained to the manager on duty who simply apologized for his staff poor performance.

Could do better: all sorts of minor maintenance issues with the room (newly refurbished)  - tv needed electrician for twenty minutes to get working - shouldn’t have bothered because it was a poor picture and limited channels.

It was very poor staff experience in the reception not helpful and raised the hands on my pregnant wife face receptionist called sabrain I don’t recommend any one to book directly with them and be carful check in and out as no guarante for renew bookingtbey not helpful

Welcome at the reception was poor and not representative of Movenpick Hotels in the world.

Nevertheless, the room was of poor quality and needs some maintenance.

but the general level of services remain the same, indeed the  TV service was getting poor during last years (ie.

I do not visit Tunis a lot because of the poor service and quality of hotels .

Bad quality , not clean , good location , bad air conditioning , poor menu of food . .

but Tunisian dinar and said we can exchange in airport in the airport all banks refused it the country infrastructure is very poor and food isn't good at all don't travel to Tunis for tourism only for business and better avoid it

Plus I experienced a very poor service sens during the breakfast.

the hotel did not feel clean  the breakfast was poor            there were very little selection there were foot step marks on the floor of the room  there were not any sports channel  the english channel selection was poor

Hotel need some modification and the security from the seaside is not effective the bedroom light to dark this cover the poor maintenance
Also I observed a lot of service people running around

The menu at the Hotel restaurant during lunch is poor.

However, service is VERY poor and disconnected from the standards the hotel is aimed at.

but still have a very poor maintenance or better the construction is poor so, appear more old than what they are.

Room is the biggest disappointment, reserved sea view and paid extra for it and I get a partial view room looking at the roof of below rooms.

Restaurant is very good and prices are not too bad for a hotel chain.

A day pass to the outdoor pool costs 150 TND of which 70 TND is a credit for food.

We were told there is no difference in the size or anything that would justify this pricing.

Firstly, I doubt you will find a pricier option in Tunisia, unfortunately the basic business class quality simply does not match the First Class price.

So we can go out by taxi for 05 or 10 minutes and you have to ask for the taxi meter that will cost almost nothing.

but way more expensive than the hotels you find in the Tunisian tourists big spots.

Staff are not polite or attentive and far below what is expected for a 5 star hotel or the high price.

but is also at least double other going rates for similar transport.

Last detail, in a middle of my stay I asked the lobby personal to mail a few postcards to my relatives and friends in different countries, paid money for the mailing service.

Over priced if we would think of the quality.

The view from the room was very bad as well in comparison with the price paid vs. other hotels in the region (as Ville Didon for example).

but overpriced and not considered value for money.

So, if you’ve got a pile of dinars to burn towards burning your keister for a few hours on the beach, go for it, just know that you can basically get almost the same thing for free just a few feet away.

And i had to pay for the vomit. Seriously???

Disgusting Smokey rooms only one restaurant is open and the service there is rude and useless.

Which was disgusting and disrespectful to say such things to a guest .

but cold and gray inside, with rotten smell and taste.

Too expnsive for the quality they offer, some or the room facility need to be maintained properly, and the soaps and shower gel smells really bad, i had to go buy my own shampoo and shower gel from the pharmacy.

but had a musty smell (mold and mildew), amenities were good.

Rooms need some fixing, especially bathroom accessories (hairdryer, wall fixations), shower drains and toilet sewers (unpleasant smells and flies).

but the bathroom was not clean and the smell was unbearable.

The plumbing emits foul odors that permeate the bathroom and hallway (smells of sewerage), at least in the wing I was in that went downhill (the more expensive beach front rooms, too).

Finally, we found insects in the room and bad smell in the coredors

It is urgent to do the work because the smell is sometimes horrible.

Was smoking in the car, speaking on the phone and almost crashed into other cars couple of times.

There was also a bad smell coming from the drains in the bathroom.

There was a persistent smell of sewage in my room during my stay and at times it was intolerable!

They managed to change my room because of the smell

The bathroom layout not the best and a strange foul smell the first night.

The smoke was very noticeable in my room.

Our hotel room was lovely and we enjoyed very much the breakfast, the walking path to the beach and we loved the hotel beautiful entrance and the lobby!

The breakfast buffet is amazing, with multiple options and everything is fresh, including fresh juices.

We love eating breakfast at l’olivier there is a great selection of food, including fresh fruit, crepes, omelettes, and juice!

Spotless and comfortable rooms, helpful staff, good breakfast spread, and overall a very pleasant stay for a business trip, even in the middle of January during a pandemic when there's hardly anyone visiting town.

I told him I didn’t have a female waitress, so I don’t know what the issue was other than poor customer service.

I will not visit again as I thought the whole experience was very poor.

In the last month, we have had two incidents that demonstrated how poor is the management of this hotel: one incident happened when they double booked a conference room and brutally insisted our participants should leave the room while it was the hotel's mistake.

The breakfast which was a highlight is now poor with not such good quality.

Unfriendly staff, pool and beach restaurants were  closed, poor breakfast with unripe fruits, no "re-fill" of the buffett 20 minutes before end of breakfast.

If I had to pick a flaw, it was the poor Wifi in outdoor areas ( especially by the pool ).

You can tell that they are economising, business is not good after recent events and the staff are fed up and not happy, they will tell you their problems with little encouragement:  poor management, bad working conditions, and they are very worried about their future, quite a depressing experience.

but this alone cannot compensate for poor Brochure Descriptions (Garden rooms face the Car Park / Building Site), the lack of a Conceierge to offer advice or the limited wine list that serves all the restaurants (including the pricey a la carte).

Maintenance work was carried out during our stay so you can see the poor workman ship.

The beach was poor and dozens of jelly fish could be seen close to shore so bathing would be risky!

though the TV channels are poor for English speakers so i would recommend bringing your own DVDs.

Our stay was not helped by poor weather and we spent more time by the indoor pool than we would have preferred.

The beach (in March) was disapponting, poor views, a bit of hassle from local traders etc

It's a poor second to its inspiration in Mauritius.

These can be the only areas for young children or poor swimmers.

Lets put this in context: I work really really hard and whilst I am not a billionaire I am definately not poor.

The pool is in very poor condition even worse is the kiddies pool where disaster awaites some poor family who is taking there kids on holiday. .

I was charged around 250 Tunisian Dinars for green fees, hitting of a golf set, a sleeve of three golf balls and for trolley hire ( around 80 GBP).

The spot I privatized for my ceremony and paid for, had residents from the hotel hanging out in it and there was no security guard to keep them away from the space, my family had to ask people to leave (and
they wouldn't) until security arrived almost an HOUR later while my guests were waiting.

although we have paid the same value for the room for people who are allowed to swim freely.

Prices are up while rooms need to be fixed when it comes to many details: tv functioning, bathrooms, windows, etc.

Unfortunately this country is the only place where you pay money to receive a horrible attitude and bad service.

The prices are way too high and definitely for the deluxe rooms with seaview as the sea isn't that nearby so not a lot of it is seen.

Another incident just few days ago is basically the fact they refused to send an offer with our corporate rate to one of our contractors despite the fact that we confirmed they are a contractor of ours and they are doing work for our project.

There are only three restaurants currently open, and they are a bit pricey,

Part of the team are non trained to be in 5 stars hotel.if you go to the bar,i would rather pay tips before been served so you get a better service and a smile probably.the turkish Hamman needs to be renewed or at least to be painted.

"Overpriced Relaxation" would be the perfect way start to describing this hotel.

but at peak season they bump the prices up to exorbitantly high prices which is a shame for local residents.

The only thing that needed improvement is the time they take to deliver dinner upstairs, also one of the receptionists claimed that the payment wasn't fully paid

however it could be, if more attention to detail were paid, and services were more consistent.

Have been in many good restaurants in Tunisia and this one is expensive.

The Residence Tunis

The small fridge inside the room and some machinaey (probably the heater) outside made terrible noise.

Downside was that the air conditioning was not strong.

Water dropped from the AC on the floor so that the floor was wet all the time.

I have only 2 comments which need some improvement, first point regarding ventilation system in bathroom is not working.

There was a costant noise due to the nearby vent system room and at 4 am I was awaken by the noise of hammer banging,luckily after an hour it stopped.

The air conditioning in the room did not properly work making it hot and stuffy during the night.

But 2 things were missing 
They have no minibar in the rooms and the AC was very bad if the weather was a bit hotter it would be a very bad experience

It is just that everyone is complaining about the AC.

NEGATIVES – Air con not very effective make sleeping more difficult.

There is a paying parking (well worthed sinc is difficult to circulate by car).

There were some minor faults with our room, the air-con made a loud rattling noise when turned on to full, and one of the bed mattresses was inclined at an angle that gave a sore back.

The reason why we couldn't close the windows was because there was no air conditioning in the rooms available,

"The air conditioning did not work, not an asset in North Africa.

Additionally, the hook holding the shower head in place was broken, toilet water cistern wasn't working properly and the heating couldn't be turned down for the first day which was a bit annoying (but not enough to make us shift rooms again).

even though the room was "non-smoking", there was a constant presence of smoke in the room and the "air-conditioning" (which was really a non-working fan) did not work.

but not especially spacious, the heating did not work and there was a dripping water tap in the bathroom while the staff acted as if they were serving us a Hilton accomodation.

They describe it as the ‘best breakfast in town’.

The breakfast spread was great with hot and cold dishes and a lovely selection of cheeses, breads, pastries and much much more.

The art all arround, the comfort of rooms, the WONDERFUL view, the staff so nice and professional, the food delicious, everything is there for to make your stay the perfect one.

Good value comfortable hotel in the centre of Tunis, tremendous breakfast spread, with good strong coffee.

Staff excellent, well versed in languages, breakfast was plentiful and hotel was spotless.

Breakfast is very nice, more than what I expect.

If you want to sleep, do NOT stay in this hotel where the loud noise from the disco next door goes on til 3am.

(Either do it properly or not at all, going through the motions is pointless and irritating) Had a noisy siren one night.

The journey to the airport is around 15 minutes provided there is no traffic issues.

All is well with the hotel except it must be little noisy at night if your room is near to the restaurant.

Furthermore it was very noisy, no warm atmosphere and the food was modest.

I was on the first floor, near the breakfast area, so a lot of noise early in the morning.

- Very noisy both in the corridors and the street.

The first floor (particular room 124) is very noisy, because the breakfast room is on this floor.

- finally chose the front view rooms still more quitter at night as the rooms looking to Kamal Ataturk St are noisy due to disco music at night.

It is being currently renovated, so there is no proper reception area and the movements inside the hotel are chaotic.

That being said, we werent affected by noise at all.

A Tunisian one serving a la carte and buffet, a really good Italian and a fantastic authentic Indian.

The breakfast and the lunch was very nice too.

Due to the low guest count, both the breakfast and dinner buffet selection was a LOT more limited than what you see in most of the high season pictures here.

The breakfast buffet offers a large choice of food,  very tasty.

I enjoyed my 2 weeks vacations there.. they have welcoming staff and a very good food especially the sea food  it was delicious.

bed and pillows were so comfortable,Tv had all national & international channels, & room service was so quick & presentable with the most delicious Tunisian food.

I had the chance to stay in golden tulip multiple times , I honestly find it amazing, location is so easy away from traffic and has a nice view, rooms are super clean , all personnel are smiling and helpful, they even provided a shuttle for us out of timings , breakfast is so delicious, a mix between Tunisian , French and English food , with a nice sitting on the pool view, I definitely recommend!

Stayed many times at this hotel on business trips, very clean spacious rooms, very comfortable beds, and beautiful view of the sea from the room balcony, excellent Spa, Hammam, Sauna and indoor and out door pools, liked the breakfast Buffet, professional friendly staff that I found always try to go the extra mile to make your stay comfortable and pleasant

Breakfast buffet was excellent, many choices.

The breakfast is across the way in the actual hotel.

Breakfast has a large seating area with many choices of western dishes like scrambled egg, potatoes, ommelets made to order, cereals, salad bar and Tunisian pastries, fresh squeezed juices and coffess/teas.

When I travelled around Tunis I saw pears, water melons, bananas – where were these at the breakfast bar?

At night there is a buffet and the salad bar, fish (at least 1 type) and meals were nice.

Breakfast was reasonable - could have been better with more variety.

but could have been quicker

Breakfast highly recommended downstairs in restaurant and sitting outside a treat in the sunshine !

Breakfast is also pretty good- there are all the different choices of Tunisian food , egg station, pancake and crepes station, plenty of pastries and huge choices of fresh juices( I fell in love with strawberry and lemon juice) !

Stayed here for about 10 days -- they have as nice a gym as I've found in a hotel in North Africa, a beautiful Hamam, very good buffet breakfast, and the staff was warm and helpful.

Just a little outdated and NOT the suit we booked.

Hotel getting old, needs thorough renovation, service is also cold.

needs some investments in rooms renovations, mainly toilets, showers.

Totally is it average place could be better with future renovation..

but bathrooms really needs renovation and maintenance.

As for areas of improvement, I would suggest that the apartment houses be updated and made a little more nicer.

but it was alittle outdated and looked old.

but the room and the bedding equipment need renovation..The blanket is ugly..!

but in my view it barely achieves a 3 *  The hotel needs major renovations, the main restaurant served uninteresting buffet-style food, and the service was less than stellar.

Lunch was cr@p.

I had to change the conditions of my stay to eat dinner outside the hotel to avoid the same nonsense in the evening.

As in my title, its outdated, not sharp, shower sucks.

Oh and by the way it is so outdated it could do with a complete overhaul. .

After the second night, I asked again at reception and it turned out that there had been a mistake.

Then look further put out when I asked for coffee and added additional charge on top of 75Dt per person.

I have asked for a compensation for the stolen item,

But when I asked for a cab the cab took me back and charged me 10 dinar, more than three times the cost of the trip to the golden tulip.

During check out time, she asked me, how was my stay and feedback about the hotel.

Thankfully we saw a housekeeping staff member and asked them directly.
