One of the best experiences in my travelling life; warmth,  kindness, excellent facilities, great restaurants, spellbinding breakfast, a proficient staff, a luxurious garden, a perfect spa, a beach well looked after, a large  swimming pool.

The food was delicious, the service was wonderful and the atmosphere was so welcoming!

Nice place , the hotel is very clean , not too far from main restaurants and bars, the food is very good, Iloved the breakfast

Our hotel room was lovely and we enjoyed very much the breakfast, the walking path to the beach and we loved the hotel beautiful entrance and the lobby!

The breakfast buffet is amazing, with multiple options and everything is fresh, including fresh juices.

We love eating breakfast at l’olivier there is a great selection of food, including fresh fruit, crepes, omelettes, and juice!

Spotless and comfortable rooms, helpful staff, good breakfast spread, and overall a very pleasant stay for a business trip, even in the middle of January during a pandemic when there's hardly anyone visiting town.

The delicious Turkish coffees and Mint teas in the piano bar, the wonderful breakfast on the terrace and the fine dinners in the restaurants became part of a pleasurable daily habit.

We had a wonderful day around the pool where you can order really delicious breakfast and lunch.

Breakfast is very good and the team that work the breakfast are my favourite.

I especially enjoyed the breakfast buffet,

the breakfast was good the chef is awesome, on many occasions we were treated with some special meals(sea food) and the meals are super cool.

The Chef put a delightful show and served delicious canapés and appetisers.

Every morning there is a perfect breakfast buffet.

As soon as you walk through the doors you are greeting the friendliest concierge and not to mention this infused air you smell when you step foot in the beautifully designed hotel.

I had about 5 hours of enjoyment, then at 1:45pm, the techno music next door started up.

but not more so than thousands of similar hotels and the beach facilities disappointing just the same as the next door beach which is free.

Do note that with trees come dust and insects hence we had our glass door shut pretty much all the time.

My therapist for the first parts of the treatment would regularly live the door ajar and would leave me hanging.

even though I had not opened my external sliding door.

My biggest gripe with the hotel are the lifts, my room was across from the lift, which is very loud, groaning, metal creaking noise every time it was used, and when the doors open and close, felt like a constant earthquake.

We had three things break (by misfortune, the construction quality seemed quite good) in our room—a light went out, the toilet plunger snapped, and the shower door opened the wrong way—which were fixed the next time a maid came in without us even having to mention it, which for me was the best thing about the service—not needing to ask.

Felt like posting them some runny excrement under the door.

The view from our room over the 'garden' was over the partly derelict hotel next door so not great

Did not have enough time to enjoy the offers of the hotel due to the business schedules.

During day 3, we had our breakfast at 8am as usual and we decided to try out the indoor pool at 9am when no one was there, and then comes the BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT when we were told that my wife is not allowed in the pool wearing the Hijab swimwear due to the hotel policy of “No Hijab” in indoor or outdoor pool - Shocking, this is totally UNACCEPTABLE and SHAMEFUL to discriminate against muslim womens in a majority muslim country!

My husband, toddler and I stayed at the Residence Tunis for five days and, unfortunately, due to our toddler falling ill, stayed inside the hotel during the entire time.

though a little dark due to the choice of color.

While checking in I was brought over to a “Reserved Check in area.” I was told that due to my Black Level status with Global Hotel Alliance, I had been given a double upgrade.

Unfortunately due to actual situation in Tunisia the hotel isn't filled enough

but I believe it was due to the fact that we were in low season (end of winter).

The staff are not very warm and the interior of the hotel is cold and sterile due to vast open spaces.

but I think it would be better suited to a weekend getaway rather than longer stays due to it's location.

We will not be going back mainly due to both of us going down with 'Tunis Tummy!'

The art all arround, the comfort of rooms, the WONDERFUL view, the staff so nice and professional, the food delicious, everything is there for to make your stay the perfect one.

Good value comfortable hotel in the centre of Tunis, tremendous breakfast spread, with good strong coffee.

Staff excellent, well versed in languages, breakfast was plentiful and hotel was spotless.

Breakfast is very nice, more than what I expect.

The breakfast was adequate offering several items to satisfy most tastes.

One of the best breakfasts I have had at a hotel - many options available that will leave you satisfied (an assortment of cold cuts, boiled and scrambled eggs, bread, pastries, sausage, fruit, coffee, juice, etc).

The front desk immediately told me that I would be charged extra for this.

So I had to cancel, also for that did not get a confirmation. Instead, two days after the cancellation my credit card was charged, about two weeks before (!)

The taxis are notorious at over charging and I experienced this - the hotel told me 10 d to the airport and the driver put on the meter at what seemed double the rate and ended up paying 20 d. I have no hesitation in recommending the Carlton for a no frills place to stay

As minuses, the breakfast was not consistent (excellent one day, rather poor the following one), the common areas are pretty "cold" and business-like, and the credit card payment did not work.

The only downsides were that the room had no comfortable chair and only one elecrticity socket in a bad spot, which doesn't work well when you have to charge phone and laptop and toothbrush.

They will charge you 3X the normal price if you don't settle beforehand.

4- In future to change the current room keys to digital room key card .

We had heard that from the airport  drivers are aggressive and over charge which our driver tried to do.

There was no always-on electrical outlet, so my electronics couldn't be charged unless I was in the room with the room key.

To cap it all when leaving the hotel the pageboy asked me if I needed a Taxi and brought me to one across the street and the driver claimed 4 times the price of the ride saying that he was working with the hotel and that for waiting for customers he was charging extra.

The only comment I give here is even that I charged my SLR camera battery the day before, the battery was low on the second level (out of three in the museum), and so I had to take some pictures also with my smartphone camera as well.

I paid with my credit card (visa) without any problem.

However, I had to nag them into dragging out the credit card machine so I could pay for my room.

When the time arrived to ask for the bill, they wanted to charge me more than the amount we had already agreed by email.

Reserve your room at www no deposit,no card number.

- Upon checkout, they charged me for Half-Board all 3 nights instead of just Breakfast, and it took me 25 minutes to get the charges rectified.

You can request to be picked up at the airport for 10 Tunisian dinars (about 7 to 8 US dollars), therefore avoiding a shameless cab driver charging you an exorbitant rate.

Security was polite and present

Situated in the middle of town Tunis, Hotel Carlton is the perfect position to visit Tunis.

The location is also very central in downtown.

It was just a surprise how clean was the hotel/room, location is perfect, staff is good and absolutlely not intrusive.

Also, perfect location at the heart of the city of Tunis !

The hotel is in a terrific location, very close to the Medina and right in the high street.

Although the rooms are in need of a renovation, the hotel offers great value and a super location.

Great location, close with walking distance to a lot of places.

This is a very clean, modern hotel located in the centre of town.

I stayd at Carlton hotel half day, its location in middle of Habib Bourgiba street in the centre of Tunis the capital.

I had three nights in Tunis, I booked this hotel unaware of location.

Great location, great facade and the hotel is fab also
Break fast was good with local dishes as well as international stuff.

The location was perfect for taking the train to Carthage and Sidi Bou Said and there were several restaurants nearby for evening dining of which the front desk was most helpful in recommending.

Excellent location, right in downtown and within walking distance to the medina.

Location at center of the stroll to the old city.

I would never recommend this hotel  unless you want to party all night.

One side of the building does face a bar that can get loud at weekend nights.

The curtains really do not block out so much light and it is a bit loud on the main street.

Our rooms were in the back of the street where there was a club and the loud music was annoying till 3 am so if you can choose make sure your room isnt over the club

My room and balcony faces a side street, there is a restaurant /bar below, Le Pub Gentlemen, see picture, it has loud music till about 2 am (on a Saturday night)

There were some minor faults with our room, the air-con made a loud rattling noise when turned on to full, and one of the bed mattresses was inclined at an angle that gave a sore back.

Whenever someone outside opens/closes a door, the noise comes to you, loud and clear.

First a restaurant close to the hotel played music really loud until late and after I finally have managed to fall asleep I have been waken up at 7.30 am by workers doing some maintenance work in the hotel.

All during the day, loud music could be heard coming from somewhere in the hotel.

Unfortunately the air con unit would not work and, to make things worse, the room looked onto an alley at the back of the building with a bar right opposite playing music at full blast.

My sister felt bad because of this disrespect  ( as if she looks poor and has no money to pay by herself !!

The egg station was also unavailable on my last day which was very weird as this was the only thing I could possibly eat at this very poor breakfast.

I felt the service I received was poor, which in turn made me feel uncomfortable asking for anything during my stay.

It's cosine not good and poor and receptionists are welcoming and smiling .

The only negative is that the lobby is not yet finished so check in and entry is cramped and gives a poor first impression. .

The breakfast is poor in quality, and u ve to pay for the water and fersh juice!!!..

Just to sleep badly, as the sound isolation is poor.

cons: poor breakfast with very bad coffe, old matresses, old rooms-although very clean.

Shower was poor (though there was hot water, at least).

The brekfast is very poor as I never seen before.

A beautiful Art Deco Building right in the centre with easy access to the Medina, shops, restaurants, railway, etc.

Positive  :restaurant staff very friendly.

There were certainly positive aspects as well: the hotel seems to have been recently remodeled, a small fridge and room safe are provided, the room was very clean and meals were varied and of decent quality.

Surrounded by restaurants and cafés I do really recommend this hotel for short stay customers.

We were able to walk to  restaurants, museums and  the city’s Medina.

Staff really helpful and gave us good recommendations of where to eat.

Great restaurant, El Capitol across street 1 block up on left was very good with English menu..

Around hotels many cafes and restaurants, you can walk many places.

Wonderful at night to be on the avenue having dinner and people watching at nearby restaurants.

The location  is a walk rom the clock tower on one side to the bazaar on the other.There are plenty of coffee shops and places to eat and also perfume shops-well worth a visit.

It's very convenient and lot of restaurant and shop near thw hotel.

but otherwise you do get enough varieties to eat.

Hotel Africa is directly opposite where alcohol is sold.

Full of cafe and restaurants right out of the door, tramway and trains at five minutes walk.

It's on a main road with lots of cafes so that's a plus.

clean .well appointed.no complaints from me.Yes I would have stayed longer.I found the reception very efficient and I enjoyed people watching from the pavement cafe be outside..enjoyed my stay in central Tunis.

On arrival we were allocated a room on the lst floor at the rear of the building.

Enjoy your stay at the Carlton of Tunis , 
a driver came to pick me up at the airport, punctual and charming, on my arrival I was greeted like a prince, my room was ready on the morning of my arrival, large room with beautiful bathroom, the hotel staff had been superb with me indicating the sites to be visited and a map of the city to show me the best ways for my professional appointments.

The Room is big with excellent amenities and luxury bedding .

Cheerful staff, perfect rooms, heartwarming and thoughtful gestures.

Bright, modern design, and the room is clean.

The room we were given was on the top floor with a lovely balcony looking over the avenue.

I think it is a good decision for economic choose, nice and big enough room, clean.

but the only downsides were that anyone from the other rooms could walk straight past your window, so no privacy.

Mind you, of 2 rooms we have checked out, the windows could not be locked.

The reason why we couldn't close the windows was because there was no air conditioning in the rooms available,

but closing the windows blocked out all street noise.

though window faced the back alley with some unfortunate smell when opening the window.

Seems to be a similar problem here, cannot open windows as too noisy.

you can either shut the windows and suffer in the heat and stuffiness, or you can open the windows and say goodbye to any ideas of sleep!

The window appears at  broken walls in front and  with a stinking smell and running electr engine noise if opened.

What did bother me was that the windows weren't very good at keeping out noise.

i looked from the window nothing to see a dirty building opposit .

Our room was on the fourth floor with a window facing West (not the main street).

but ALL night we had to listen to the neighbors closing their wood slatted shutters on their windows.

Beach at the backside , very good hospitality .

We was in el mouradi Gammarth nice place to visit the reception very good the entertainer also good and we do table tennis running on the beach .the buffet was nice  and the Turkish coffee its nice us well .we enjoyed the holiday in Tunisia and we will be back. .

The gym is OK,but nothing special,no towels,no water.There is an inside pool as well as the outside pool.Did not check the beach as I had to leave early.

Large, modern hotel in tourist zone in northern suburbs, on the coast, adjacent to a desultory beach (windy when I was there).

The beach is a short walk away and quite safe.

Beach was adjacent to the hotel, felt safe in and out of the hotel.

The Resort is located in a quiet location near the beach.

There is a bar on the beach managed by Tim, HE HAS THE BEST MOJITOS EAST OF CUBA!!

But the staff really do make the hotel an amazing place and made me feel so at home and looked after.

Nice hotel, most remarkable for the number of people (more women than men) wandering around with bandages on their noses, faces (and possible other parts of their anatomy) at the supper buffet.

The food was good for both breakfast and dinner.

The buffet restaurant had mosquitoes and fruit flies.

The dinner and breakfast buffet spread were very good.

This is a big resort with large indoor and outdoor pools, excellent all day restaurant, international buffet for all meals.

The bar has great service, olso the reception staff was good.. the breakfast (buffet) was excellent with a mix of Continental and Tunisian specialtie;.

The lunch was good with many buffet options,

The chef couldn’t even make an omelette and the service takes hours if not days before you get what you’ve ordered.

Average breakfast and very little choices for dinner.

- Breakfast and dinner is better than average in terms of quality and variety
- Service is pretty good and staff are friendly

Sometimes they’d knock on my door at 8:30 at night for no reason

The toilet roll holder did not fit, there was no chair for my desk in the room so I had to use the terrace one, door knobs and handles were loose here and there, the shower facility for wheelchair users would flood the floor running into the room if used too long.

3) The volume from the disco next door is loud.

Next door to the hotel is a disco that makes the hotel shake until five o'clock in the morning with loud music.Sleep is out of the question, for business travelers absolutely ineligible this hotel.

I found I'd been given a room with a door through to the next, so could hear every word spoken by my neighbours.

The first room we got also had a connecting door; on the other side there was a loud family with a screaming child.

Very old fashioned TV & the sliding wardrobe doors were filthy.

Closing the two doors blocked out corridor noise, which I wouldn't like.

When I opened the door I found one of room service staff telling me if I want towels which I didn't order !

After that, I kept a heavy chair against the door when I was in the room.

Door handles were sticky and dirty, bathroom extremely dated.

I am unsure if you have to pay to use the gym or not, there is a sign on the door which mentions 10 dina per hour, and I think you have to pay a deposit for pool towels too.

The one night we slept with the balcony door open my wife got eaten by mozzies.

The patio door would not lock, the safe would not work

The air conditioning in our room didn't work, the safe was broken and the patio door didn't lock so the room was insecure.

Staff are giving wrong information with regards to the hotel services: in door pool was opened for 24hr and reception told me that it's until 18:00pm and upon my depart it was extended to be 22:00pm, no internet in the hotel for 04 days.

If you like the sound of screaming children, flip flops reverberating down corridors, doors slamming, workmen clanking metal and just about every sound within a 1km radius then you would love this room.

We finally were moved for the 3rd time to find that the balcony french door lock was broken.

Curiously, no artworks, not even poor ones, on the walls.

Our classic room was very poor, a typical two or maybe three star room.
