There are no tea making facilities so remember the travel kettle.

Though we never asked for one, we felt like some tea, so tea making facilities in the room would have been nice.

Two coffee machines for 100+ people does not work either.

- The breakfast selection is very limited and there are just two coffee machines for the entire hotel.

No provision was made for tea and coffee making facilities.

However, due to no tea/coffee in rooms and none offered after dinner I would suggest the rate was more 3.5*.

A good job we took a travel kettle and Tea and Coffee, as there is nothing provided except two small bottles of water in the fridge.

The only drawbacks that would highlight on the room was no coffee / tea making facility standard these days on a 4 star hotel plus the shower was on the small size which was a problem for me being over 6 feet tall.

You have to look for the waiter to get us coffee and it took quite long time to get it.

Plus lack of basic tea and coffee making facilities should really come as standard in any room, let alone a suite like the one we opted for.

My ONLY niggles were that the coffee in the morning was very strong and bitter (please install a coffee machine with options for cappacino, lattes etc) and the toaster was soooo slow (but I find this a universal thing in most hotels).

We enjoyed the continental breakfast (although the coffee was not up to much).

My only comment is that the breakfast coffee is virtually undrinkable and if you like coffee at breakfast you'll have to order it separately.

It would have been nice to have a pool to use and maybe coffee available after dinner and water provided on the tables rather than have to pay for it.

The Sole's several sister hotels (2 around the piazza and another at the lido/beach) offer additional amenities, such as a rooftop pool, spa and beach access (some for a nominal fee).

The only down side for some is that due to it's location and being in the old part of town there is no pool which is obviously due to there being nowhere to put one.

This is rated three star by the travel company I used, probably because it does not have a pool or an a la cart resturant.

Same goes for hiring the whirlpool and sauna.

No pool and no children activities in the hotel,

Please note that if you want to use the “Whirlpool”/Jacuzzi at Hotel Sole this might be something of a problem.

We didnt miss not having a pool.. No time for that!

What do you want from a  4 star, the only thing this place does not have is a pool,

One thing lacking in the Hotel was a swimming pool, it had a solarium and sauna which were about €15 for 20 mins

Although the hotel has no swimming pool you can swim in the lake (Although it is a bit nippy in there) and for those wanting to sun bath there is a roof top sun terrace.

Hotel Sole has 2star rooms,2star reception,limited public areas,tired decor,no entertainment,no pool,no bar & uninspiring food served elegantly with good cheap wine.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Sole where we have been many times before.A special thank you to Michael and the rest of the reception staff who were very helpful and helped make our holiday so memorable.Also Gianni and his restaurant staff who were  both professional and friendly.

Good choice of food at breakfast, we were half board which included a 4 course evening meal, again a good selection on the menu.

but mainly continental, evening dinner was a four course affair with good sized portions and good selection.

The location cannot be beat - it is excellent right next to the lake, wonderful views and you can walk to lots of great restaurants and the harbor area is 2 minutes away so you can take trips to other towns along the lake.

The front desk guys were super helpful, and the restaurant servers super nice too.

Free breakfast buffet was crowded with tour groups, food blah, coffee pretty good.

The three course dinners were above average with triple choice for starter and main course.

The evening prior to checkout we asked the front desk employee if there is a taxi service that accepts credit cards and provides service from the hotel to the bus station in Riva del Garda.

The food was excellent and first class service by all the staff.

The service wasn't too impressive, we weren't really made to feel welcome in the dining room and we felt a little in the way.

Riva is Beautiful with plenty to see, the boat service very good.

This is probably the best hotel for location, views , service, food I have experienced in a while.

The service at the front desk was brilliant, friendly and very informative.

Evening meal buffet salad and fish selection,  followed by main and dessert selection,  couple of main choices each night,  gala dinner on Fridays excellent 5 courses,  stayed ten nights no menu was ever the same,  speedy service,  efficient waiting staff and head of house runs the place efficiently and with pride.

Check in was extremely slow as there were so many of us

but nothing exceptional and the service was erratic and slow.

Bog standard - cereal, tinned fruit, boiled eggs, white roll, brown roll, slow toaster and always over cooked scrambled eggs and streaky bacon - sometimes over cooked sometimes crispy.

The gala dinner was a let-down with no choice at all and pretty slow service.

The service was so slow keeping us waiting for literally hours in a hot stuffy dining room.Smiles were very few, more often non existent, with the exception of one young waiter.

One minor niggle is that the service is a bit slow in the evenings.

There was only 1 lift, and boy was it slow!

The bed is comfortable, and we could not hear a thing from our room when the door and window were closed.

Only critism would be that you can hear other rooms water running and chains flushing so walls must be bit thin.

Unfortunately our room was opposite the maids storage cupboard which meant early in the morning as they started there was a lot of noise outside our room.

Two points to note - late night users of the hot tub can disturb you in room 204 if they are noisy and the restaurant - Aqua- isn't open on Mondays except for half board customers.

If we stayed again (which we hope to), we would book a room at the back as the noise from the restaurant guests outside was a little disturbing.

Perfect location, cosy rooms, outstanding view over the lake, private jacuzzi on the terrace, excellent service, overwhelming breakfast buffet, and, to top it all, a star-like cuisine, garage service and a bicycle-room.

I would highly recommend the resort which had good ferry services and water sports facilities and was within walking distance of other interesting places.

Beware that when you book "Lake view with terrace", you may get a room that has a small terrace (one chair) and no view unless you are standing.

It did finally happen on day 6 of our holiday.We were offered a tiny room, on another floor, where I would have walked into the table every night.

Every Morning Swimming in the lake to wake up-  Nicest view from the lovely terrace with Whirlpool, Great breakfast buffet, nice and friendly  stuff!

Breakfast was a huge choice and to sit and enjoy the Lake  views was a good way to start the day.

In the spa on the balcony you have a nice view over the lake.

The location and view is perfect, the sunset on the lake from the hotel is beautiful!

Every website (even BBC) was blocked, I couldn't even access Instagram.

The hotel staff were extremely friendly, professional and mostly spoke a good standard of English - this was initially a worry considering how bad the English was on the hotel's website and how appalling our Italian is.

There was one issue, which we feel was compounded by their website.

If you’re able to plan ahead I would suggest going onto their website, where they explain the different types of packages they have, from basic standard rooms to the whole kit and caboodle.

They said that the charges are listed on the website and booking.com.

.hugely misled by their website and therefore disappointed.

Unfortunately the room we got did not reflect the picture displayed on the website; it had a view of a wall and the bathroom window was not at all frosted with only a flimsy net curtain meaning that, when the light was on, you would be seen in all your glory on the toilet or in the shower.

Instead of the colorful stylish chairs presented on the website, we had cheap black plastic chairs.

As I believe others have said the website is a little mis-leading, the terrace you see pictured is only accessible via certain rooms and not for all hotel guests.

Clunky noisy A/C units, rock hard mattresses, shoebox tiny room, paper thin walls, dispersed building, tons of staircases, cramped car park aso aso Bring your walking shoes if your given one of the many remote rooms.

Otherwise the AC was quite noisy and disturbed sleeping.

The week we were there June 19th there was a heatwave and and  with no air conditioning in the main lounge or even electric fans there was no alternative

but the sink had hairline cracks, the shower cubicle doors were 'rickety' and the radiator had chipped paintwork.

No air con, very crowded and very uncomfortable.

but the air con in the restaurant couldn’t cope and the bedroom, although refurbished still had old air con which struggled at night.

The hotel seemed to have an issue turning the air conditioning on.

The air conditioning in the room did not seem to be working as cold as we liked it

The air con is not working and the staff are finding all sorts of excuses from it's too warm outside

Air con in room good.En suite Shower difficult to control - temperature alternates between scalding and freezing.

We could hear everything our neighbours did including flushing their loo and blowing their nose!
