but we did have some poor weather which was disappointing as we missed the fireworks and festival which was due to be on during our last evening.

Only drawback was poor wi fi in some areas of the hotel.

The only minor issue which did not affect our enjoyment was that the wi-fi was in our room, poor and unreliable

We have been trying to get the hotel to take responsibility for their poor plumbing, without any success.

The 3rd floor was never available to connect to and we put up with poor reception from the 4th or 2nd floor.

The hotel has free wifi which is available in all areas of the hotel, quite refreshing having stayed at other hotels were wifi was considered and extra that had to be paid for or was of poor quality.

Food was somewhat mass produced and was lacking a little in quality along with poor explanations of the food in the menu.

though was the evening food in the restaurant , very poor, one occasion we had to send our meal back which is not what we would expect of a 4 star hotel.

We had seen some reviews on TripAdvisor from a minority who seemed to have had a poor experience especially with a package holiday.

but the food was poor, and the bedrooms you could clearly hear your next door neighbour talking and stooring, the hotel seemed to catering for the German visitors rather that the English ones

The quality of this is poor and appears to be provided simply to keep guests on site and the bar tills ringing.

The gym in the hotel is really very poor with broken equipment and lack of ventilation.

but the air conditioning was poor, the outdoor pool was asbsolutely freezing.

I was not very impressed with this hotel,the food was awful very dull and unispiring.The view from the balcony overlooked the carpark/delivery ramp so we had constant noise at certain times of the day,no dividers between the balconys so you where over looked by everyone.It was also a long walk into Riva (25 min) where we spent most evenings as the hotels entertainment was pretty awful,and the local bus service was poor.

however, is pretty poor and does not offer any lunches that would inspire anyone to stay by the pool over lunchtime. )

We stayed  last two weeks in July, and have never found a 4 star hotel with such poor quality meals!

In the adveritisment for Savoy palace ,in the brochure they had a free afternoon of tea/coffee and cakes, so we decided to try this (not holding out much hope after the standard of the breakfast and dinner.was so poor).. as we arrived towards the bar where the afternoon tea and coffee was held we realised it was the same  coffee machine(which was used for breakfast and coffee was awful) and beside that was rasin bread and prepacked biscuits that were also used for the breakfast buffet.When we seen this we were just going to turn around and go back out ,

The walls in the rooms were so thin the mansnoring next door kept me awake for a large part of the night.

The only complaint I would have is that the walls of the bedrooms are quite thin and the noise carries a lot,

The entertainment was  to be desired giving out signed photographs of the owners Ferrari - would be better spending the money updating duvet covers and ripped net curtains in the bar also if somebody could answer me a question as to why in a art deco style hotel room why was there a picture on the wall  of a very blue sea with a thatched beach umbrella?

Only slight pain was thin walls so could hear everything in next room.

Room quite adequate, only slight niggle is that walls are not particularly thick so can hear neighbouring rooms voices and sliding wardrobe doors.

however, the first being the thin walls, meaning we often heard our neighbours late at night and secondly the lethal sun beds!

There were some shortcomings, such as the thinness of the walls meant we became only too familiar with the physical habits of the people in the next room and the rooms could do with some updating.

Also, the walls were paper thin and I could hear everything the couple in the next room were saying.

Only one disappointment, the wall mounted hairdryer is useless, make sure you take your own!).

The only bad point I would say is that the walls are very thin and so the rooms can be very noisy!

Unfortunately so did all the neighbouring rooms and with the paper thin walls we were treated to the constant sounds of spas being turned on, showers run and toilets flushed.

This seems to be the same in any hotel I've stayed in Europe ( excluding Ireland & UK), the walls are so thin relaxing in the room doesn't happen.

The value for money was poor related to what the additional 800 euros could have purchased at the other hotels or from the A La Carte menu in the main dining restaurant.

The absolute basics for a hotel in terms of being able to sleep (impossible with the noise), breakfast (poor quality), cleanliness (dog mess close to where children are playing) are not met.

but you may also receive the poor service we did.

The TV signal needs adjusting for British channels as most channels either didn't work or had a very poor signal so gave up trying to watch the TV.

Bungalow was a total disappointment with its poor design/layout and antiquated furnishings.

Very poor customer support from desk to the manager.

We made use of the indoor pool, gym and spa area when the weather was poor.

We were disappointed as a couple to find two single beds pushed together, for the price we paid, this was really poor and below average.

Room was a bit sparse and wifi connection was really poor.

We did relax, suffered poor rainy weather

We ate there on one occasion and the food was very poor.

I did not think that this was confusing as it was not called out on the rate that I selected on-line, whereas some rates included ( free use of the spa" 

In summary I would therefore suggest that the value for money was lacking despite this being a lovely hotel.

but if one is paying 5 star hotel prices and given 4 star accommodations then there is a disconnect.

We were there for our 2 friends 30th (group of 4), hence we paid more for the hot tub room.

but sensibly priced base from which to explore Lake Garda and the Dolomites then this couldn't be better!

Also there was no subsidised rates for watersports for hotel guests.

There are less expensive options in the area

After our stay upon check-out at the reception, they charged us double the price as seen online!

Again for this price, I expect some variance.

We booked late so it was very expensive for us,

Yesterday we also found out that this swimming pool is only for German people there is the question is German people pay more money for the swimming pool or what?

but be warned, No Balcony, 0.4L Lager 6 euros and Gin and Tonic 14 Euros.Asked for a balcony and said 150 Euros a night but after negotiation lowered to 50 Euros a night, obviously too expensive.

We ate in the bistro one wet night and it was fine, if maybe lacking a bit in atmosphere and a bit pricey, better to take the easy stroll into Riva which adds the atmosphere!

Hence if the full price would have been applied I would say that the place is way too expensive.

but… If You wanted to iron anything – You must go to some other building as it’s not allowed to do it in the room :D

Our general view of this hotel was influenced by the breakdown of the air conditioning, which was creaking and groaning on the first night we arrived and then proceeded to breakdown altogether and wasn’t fixed for a further 5 days - not good when only there for a week.

The extractor fan in the bathroom was broken so there was no ventilation and it became damp and stinky and nothing was done when we reported this.

The air conditioning unit is loud and sounds like a train trying to get up a hill.

Hotel refuse to put air con on until June.

The air con dial was worn out and so it took some guess work on our part to get it on!

although small is perfect for cooling off on a hot day.

Our room had a walk in shower and air conditioning which was not noisy.

The room was bit dated and the extractor fan didn't work in the bathroom

We booked via TUI which was quite cost effective particularly as a private transfer from Verona airport is quite expensive.

Before this holiday I was not a keen fan of Italian cooking,

but needs bringing up to date, could have done without a massive A/C unit parked by the bed!

Our reviews are somewhat different
1- We booked a classic room which was a big mistake the large floor air conditioning unit was placed in front of the balcony doors so you had to squeeze past it to reach the balcony which was very small.

the only reason not giving a 5  is that i had to keep patio door open at night as air conditioning off, and traffic noise  and some guests stood outside hotel entrance talking loudly, not the hotels fault.

Only one  door key card so one couldn't keep the stand-alone air conditioning unit running.

Showers have been restricted with duct tape to prevent people using the multifunction shower head.

We tried to pay for or use either of the listed facilities, sadly the only thing we were offered was the use of the outside pool shower with freezing cold water and the toilets to change in, not in our opinion what you expect from a 4 star hotel.

We had to keep the unit on a lower speed.

Only one complaint, the AC unit in the bedroom would switch off if you tried to set it below 25C, for us that was too hot to sleep comfortably.

To say I've had better air con in some 3rd world countries is rather poor really!

but the air conditioning had been switched off in the hotel.

The air conditioning was ancient and sounded like a broken car so we could only sleep with earplugs.

The walls are very thin so hope for good neighbours, we could hear the tv from the room across the hall one night and had also heard a toilet seat falling down and the wardrobe doors rolling from the adjoining rooms.

Pool bit close to road and can be noisy with traffic noise.

After just over a year of waiting our holiday had arrived and we excitedly boarded the plane.

Overall it’s a great hotel, would I stay again?

Had a first floor room at the front, never found noise an issue, I personally found the mattress very hard ,

but we certainly didn’t find it overly noisy.

but horrendous if raining ( no shelter ) TUI needs to organise better.

Although situated on a busy road our sleep was not disturbed.

There was some noise and less view on the small balcony.

First week of our two week stay we were woken by 5am by the occupants of the room above us.

My only complaint would be the room we were in  315 we had sleep disturbance due to the sound of running water from I assume rooms above

The only issue I had with the hotel was the walls of the rooms were so thin - TV sounds, other guests snoring, talking, scraping furniture around and even opening curtains could all be heard!

Our only complaint would be the road noise whilst by the pool

.might sound crazy as 50 yards fro the main Torbole road,

however as it's at the front of the hotel the noise from the main road can be a little loud.

We could see the lake from the hotel room which was always very clean, had two balconies with great views and an amazing shower.

A comfortable bar would be such an asset, especially when the weather is poor ( as it was for our stay).

(there are no kettles or cups in the room that costs 200eur per night or in my case 400 as I booked 2 of them)
3) when your guests are telling you that because of your poor help they’ve missed their dinner reservation (because they had to spend 40 minutes circling around the town looking for a parking space), you don’t look at them up and down saying that it’s not your fault that they didn’t check it themselves beforehand.

We ordered our food together and I had eaten my meal completely before my wife’s arrived.

The preparation of fish during my stay was poor, tending to be near the undercooked to raw state.

It was 29 deg outside and 19 in our room.Evening meal was poor.

And shame on Thomsons Lakes and Mountains, for having such a poor hotel on their books.

We tried several different restaurants in Riva, some good, some very poor.

However the service in their restaurant is really poor..

We went to the front desk to discuss the poor view and the fact that the room is hot.

The guest amenities are of poor quality and the towels are so thin as to be cracker-like.

but the poor quality of meals is another issue.

We could not be more grateful for how we were treated, having been in such a poor hotel previously and almost having our holiday ruined.

The elderly manager refunded it with very poor grace later, with not even a hint of an apology.

Service was poor especially from the gent making the deserts, he even gave our two childrens seats to someone else whilst our boys went to the toilets.

We have just arrived back from a trip to beautiful Lake Garda, a lovely holiday spoilt only by the terrible food, and very poor service in  this hotel.We were expecting lovely Italian food,

By the end of the week I felt I'd lost weight because much of the food was poor or inedible!

Lake Garda is a fantastic resort to take a holiday and my wife and I would certainly take another holiday there,but not at the Sole Hotel,our long awaited holiday was completely spoiled by the food that was served to us,it realy was very poor and no way can this hotel be given a rating of 4 star.

The Dining Room was always kept immaculate as quick as anyone left their table a fresh tablecloth was laid just perfect.

Room was very clean and fairly spacious and double doors opened on to a very large balcony with a stunning view of the lake.

The staff were pleasant, our lake view room clean and comfortable and the food tasty and well presented, will return and would recommend.

We stayed at this hotel on our Thomson holiday and found the accommodation good and the rooms kept immaculately clean.

but the shower is tiny, you knocked your elbows on the screen/doors especially getting to your feet.

The only thing which bothered me about the room was plastic cups and cheap trash bins in the bathroom + old sun beds on the balcony.
