The included breakfast was excellent and had a lot of choices.

Great amenities, beautiful well landscaped grounds, great bathroom toiletries, incredible breakfast buffet, modern rooms, comfy bed and shower, great staff, free garage, and wonderful staff.

Car parking at the hotel was plentiful and the staff were extremely helpful.

We were half board and really enjoyed the food at breakfast and in the evening.

- The desserts for dinner is a buffet set up

In this room there is a delicious herbal tea.

The food was fabulous- both breakfast and evening meals.

The hotel dining area overlooks the lovely grounds , and it was a pleasure to have breakfast in the morning in a hotel overlooked by beautiful mountains .

Breakfast was incredible, among the best we've had at a resort.

The absolute basics for a hotel in terms of being able to sleep (impossible with the noise), breakfast (poor quality), cleanliness (dog mess close to where children are playing) are not met.

The TV signal needs adjusting for British channels as most channels either didn't work or had a very poor signal so gave up trying to watch the TV.

Bungalow was a total disappointment with its poor design/layout and antiquated furnishings.

We made use of the indoor pool, gym and spa area when the weather was poor.

We were disappointed as a couple to find two single beds pushed together, for the price we paid, this was really poor and below average.

Room was a bit sparse and wifi connection was really poor.

I did not think that this was confusing as it was not called out on the rate that I selected on-line, whereas some rates included ( free use of the spa" 

In summary I would therefore suggest that the value for money was lacking despite this being a lovely hotel.

but if one is paying 5 star hotel prices and given 4 star accommodations then there is a disconnect.

We were there for our 2 friends 30th (group of 4), hence we paid more for the hot tub room.

but sensibly priced base from which to explore Lake Garda and the Dolomites then this couldn't be better!

Also there was no subsidised rates for watersports for hotel guests.

There are less expensive options in the area

After our stay upon check-out at the reception, they charged us double the price as seen online!

Again for this price, I expect some variance.

We booked late so it was very expensive for us,

Yesterday we also found out that this swimming pool is only for German people there is the question is German people pay more money for the swimming pool or what?

but be warned, No Balcony, 0.4L Lager 6 euros and Gin and Tonic 14 Euros.Asked for a balcony and said 150 Euros a night but after negotiation lowered to 50 Euros a night, obviously too expensive.

We ate in the bistro one wet night and it was fine, if maybe lacking a bit in atmosphere and a bit pricey, better to take the easy stroll into Riva which adds the atmosphere!

Hence if the full price would have been applied I would say that the place is way too expensive.

but… If You wanted to iron anything – You must go to some other building as it’s not allowed to do it in the room :D

You chose your evening 3 course meal from a menu left on your breakfast table each morning and you were allocated a table on arrival which you had for the week.

Only 1 member of staff, a waiter at breakfast and dinner, was attentive and really good.

Fine selection of cold buffet for breakfast together with omelette and egg station alongside bacon selection.

The breakfast on is huge and the my have a massive offering of hot and cold breakfast.

The previous review does not match our experience at all - showers were great and breakfasts fabulous with a wide choice of foods served buffet style (including eggs both cooked and raw so they could be cooked to your own wishes).

The cuisine at both Breakfast and Dinner is very good, the choice is excellent and the wine list is extensive.

Food - the evening meals are varied and delicious - I think you’ll only struggle if there’s a certain menu one night that doesn’t take your fancy.

3rd time we have stayed at this hotel, staff are very helpful and friendly, food is amazing, we had a room on the 5th floor with a lake view, fabulous, owner very attentive always making sure all is ok. Will definitely be back, love being served at the table for dinner, more relaxing than buffet.

We have been trying to get the hotel to take responsibility for their poor plumbing, without any success.

The 3rd floor was never available to connect to and we put up with poor reception from the 4th or 2nd floor.

The hotel has free wifi which is available in all areas of the hotel, quite refreshing having stayed at other hotels were wifi was considered and extra that had to be paid for or was of poor quality.

Food was somewhat mass produced and was lacking a little in quality along with poor explanations of the food in the menu.

though was the evening food in the restaurant , very poor, one occasion we had to send our meal back which is not what we would expect of a 4 star hotel.

We had seen some reviews on TripAdvisor from a minority who seemed to have had a poor experience especially with a package holiday.

but the food was poor, and the bedrooms you could clearly hear your next door neighbour talking and stooring, the hotel seemed to catering for the German visitors rather that the English ones

although we had some poor weather it did not stop it from being an enjoyable holiday.

The quality of this is poor and appears to be provided simply to keep guests on site and the bar tills ringing.

The gym in the hotel is really very poor with broken equipment and lack of ventilation.

but the air conditioning was poor, the outdoor pool was asbsolutely freezing.

I was not very impressed with this hotel,the food was awful very dull and unispiring.The view from the balcony overlooked the carpark/delivery ramp so we had constant noise at certain times of the day,no dividers between the balconys so you where over looked by everyone.It was also a long walk into Riva (25 min) where we spent most evenings as the hotels entertainment was pretty awful,and the local bus service was poor.

however, is pretty poor and does not offer any lunches that would inspire anyone to stay by the pool over lunchtime. )

We stayed  last two weeks in July, and have never found a 4 star hotel with such poor quality meals!

In the adveritisment for Savoy palace ,in the brochure they had a free afternoon of tea/coffee and cakes, so we decided to try this (not holding out much hope after the standard of the breakfast and dinner.was so poor).. as we arrived towards the bar where the afternoon tea and coffee was held we realised it was the same  coffee machine(which was used for breakfast and coffee was awful) and beside that was rasin bread and prepacked biscuits that were also used for the breakfast buffet.When we seen this we were just going to turn around and go back out ,

Also the loungers collapse so please anyone going be careful: a man with his arm in a sling was tilted backwards and left upside down and a woman next to me crashed backwards & hit her head on a low wall.

Unfortunately the walls are very thin and we could almost hear our neighbours conversations.

key to open door for room is a credit card type key which fits into a slot on wall to allow lights on in room and power sockets.

The walls in the rooms were so thin the mansnoring next door kept me awake for a large part of the night.

The only complaint I would have is that the walls of the bedrooms are quite thin and the noise carries a lot,

The entertainment was  to be desired giving out signed photographs of the owners Ferrari - would be better spending the money updating duvet covers and ripped net curtains in the bar also if somebody could answer me a question as to why in a art deco style hotel room why was there a picture on the wall  of a very blue sea with a thatched beach umbrella?

Only slight pain was thin walls so could hear everything in next room.

Room quite adequate, only slight niggle is that walls are not particularly thick so can hear neighbouring rooms voices and sliding wardrobe doors.

however, the first being the thin walls, meaning we often heard our neighbours late at night and secondly the lethal sun beds!

There were some shortcomings, such as the thinness of the walls meant we became only too familiar with the physical habits of the people in the next room and the rooms could do with some updating.

Also, the walls were paper thin and I could hear everything the couple in the next room were saying.

Only one disappointment, the wall mounted hairdryer is useless, make sure you take your own!).

The only bad point I would say is that the walls are very thin and so the rooms can be very noisy!

The walls were like paper - I could here my neighbours talking and using the bathroom and their air con buzzed for the night.

Unfortunately so did all the neighbouring rooms and with the paper thin walls we were treated to the constant sounds of spas being turned on, showers run and toilets flushed.

This seems to be the same in any hotel I've stayed in Europe ( excluding Ireland & UK), the walls are so thin relaxing in the room doesn't happen.

The map plus room we had was quite small and dark and only had one plug socket near the bed, while the more modern Bike room didn’t have a balcony (we knew in advance, so this isn’t a complaint, I’m just saying).

The room was a bit on the small side decorated in a modern contemporary  style which i found a bit sterile and soleless

The breakfast each morning was amazing, such fantastic views up on the rooftop and there was so much to choose from such as cereals, yoghurts, fruit, bread, croissants, eggs just to name a few.

Breakfast on the roof top was amazing with the views, we had great weather.

Breakfast on the rooftop with stunning views of the lake and mountains was a real treat.

The rooms are bright and airy, with the rooftop terrace of the hotel being an extra special treat - we looked forward to our breakfast with panoramic views every morning!

but the roof top view makes this up in every way.Our room on first impressions was abit underwhelming and seemed abit dated but was of a good size,clean and had good air conditioning and comfortable bed.The breakfast was served ( weather permitted ) on the roof top which was very nice and the evening meal ( 4 courses ) was  amazing.Would highly recommended this hotel are looking at booking again in the near future.

Breakfast on the roof was exceptional - food, service and views were all superb in every way - we could have stayed there all day! Riva is very close and a great town (try the White Bar- it is perfect too!)

Credit where credit's due, I thought the breakfast was excellent.

Breakfast on the roof terrace is a nice touch.

At breakfast I was given packs of GF cornflakes , bread and biscuits and then I could help myself to the extensive buffet or a chef made hot options
At dinner I had my own printed GF menu on my table waiting for me which was almost the same as the full dinner menu - absolute heaven for coeliacs.

I think the rooftop pool was a fabulous area, where you had breakfast and evening entertainment was on.

The food is exceptional at Krystal Palace; breakfast is beautifully fresh and offers a huge selection and dinner is of truly excellent quality.

We had half board: Great breakfast on balcony, and dinner one first floor.

The rooftop terrace at the hotel is a real highlight, and it certainly has spectacular views over the surrounding area, and is an amazing place to have breakfast, or enjoy a drink.

but there is an egg station serving fried and scrambled eggs and crepes and omelette.

For some reason the poor bar staff didn't open the lobby bar

Unfortunately rooftop bar wasn't in use due to the poor weather.

It was a shame the weather was so poor meaning that the rooftop bar was not open.

The service on our final night was particularly poor with us only getting a round of drinks by asking the reception staff and then being told at 11.30pm we couldn’t have any more resulting in a group of us going out in the rain to a nearby bar.

but sadly this week the weather has been poor so would never book to come back in May again.

My husband and I did not experience one poor meal.

I just wonder weather more could be made of the downstairs bar area when the weather is poor, maybe create a covered seating area outside with some music?

Sadly I cannot be as complimentary about breakfast which was really very poor.

And so to the one really poor thing about the hotel: the WiFi.

When reading reviews about noise levels and poor room insulation - they must have been staying at a different hotel to us as noisy it certainly was not - even with the pianist on the rooftop bar in an evening.

floor and the noise from the lounge area was exceptionally loud, as they had a couple of  music nights, the lack of insulation was very poor.

As far back as 2013 and 2014 the hotel's response to some of these complaints was variously that the quality of doors was the issue (and they would be replaced at the end of the 2013 season) and in 2014 "in the near future we will provide soundproof walls to prevent the noise" Have these actions been carried out as promised?

The restaurant itself was constructed around the kitchen, which on three sides, allowed diners to look in through glass walls, at the obviously well-qualified chefs, preparing the meals.

but in this case it was on an adjoining wall so ensure you see it so you know where the fire exit stairs are located.

Dinner is served in the main restaurant, the food is first class and can be seen being prepared by the chefs through glass portioned walls.

Our room backed onto the bathroom of the adjoining room and the walls were paper thin so we could here the occupants going to the toilet, brushing their teeth and showering as well as every word they said.

The walls of the rooms are quite thin so you do here the noise from above or next door especially if people are up early for flights or excursions. 2.

The light on the balcony had come away from the wall and was hanging by the wires.

however this room whilst not to my personal tastes more importantly had a dodgy cupboard door that wouldn't shut, black scuffs all along the wall on one side, a discoloured bed frame as if stained and was next to the service lift leading me to feel I had been placed here as someone else had complained.

It was tiny and the walls were paper thin.

Our room was not at all nice with one complete wall covered in very dark tiles and with awful lighting by spotlights.

And if you're particularly stressed about your privacy, be aware that you're only separated from neighbouring balconies by tinted glass, rather than a solid wall.

A few reviewers have complained about the "thin walls" of the rooms

although there was a slightly odd wall that made it tricky to get in the shower (probably just that one room though!)

The only remark we have is for the insulation of the room walls, it is terrible.

but once in the room we could hear the noise of running water in the walls.

Hotel Kristal Palace - Tonelli Hotels

Our general view of this hotel was influenced by the breakdown of the air conditioning, which was creaking and groaning on the first night we arrived and then proceeded to breakdown altogether and wasn’t fixed for a further 5 days - not good when only there for a week.

The extractor fan in the bathroom was broken so there was no ventilation and it became damp and stinky and nothing was done when we reported this.

The air conditioning unit is loud and sounds like a train trying to get up a hill.

Hotel refuse to put air con on until June.

The air con dial was worn out and so it took some guess work on our part to get it on!

although small is perfect for cooling off on a hot day.

Our room had a walk in shower and air conditioning which was not noisy.

The room was bit dated and the extractor fan didn't work in the bathroom

We booked via TUI which was quite cost effective particularly as a private transfer from Verona airport is quite expensive.

Before this holiday I was not a keen fan of Italian cooking,

but needs bringing up to date, could have done without a massive A/C unit parked by the bed!

Our reviews are somewhat different
1- We booked a classic room which was a big mistake the large floor air conditioning unit was placed in front of the balcony doors so you had to squeeze past it to reach the balcony which was very small.

the only reason not giving a 5  is that i had to keep patio door open at night as air conditioning off, and traffic noise  and some guests stood outside hotel entrance talking loudly, not the hotels fault.

Only one  door key card so one couldn't keep the stand-alone air conditioning unit running.

Showers have been restricted with duct tape to prevent people using the multifunction shower head.
