The air conditioning kept shutting off all night long, and I kept waking up and turning it back on because the room was so warm.

but needed cleaning as bare feet became dirty. Both room beds comfortable, adequate area space, amenities (TV, AC, WIFI, frig, etc.)

The noise all night was from the heater cycling on & off many times.

Tile floors with holes and bumps protruding--refinished tub that was peeling/cracking--extremely loud exhaust fan in bathroom that needs repairing.

A hotel with no carpet, extremely noisy/old AC/heat units, weak wi-fi, cold, bland minimal "free" breakfast; highway noise, overworked/disinterested staff, a hotel that has never had an update to the 21st century-that's what you get here--the bed was so uncomfortable, my back is still recovering (I would have slept on the floor,

The aircon/heater is the wall unit type (common for this category of hotel); the big disadvantage is that temperature control is never the greatest and the units are a big noisy.

When I reached my room it was stifling hot as the air conditioning was switched off

Did not hear train noise over air conditioner which was a plus!

The main heaters on each floor weren't on.

We run the a/c fan on constant run anyway for white noise as well as air circulation, so there is sound all the time from that.

but there was visible dust on the air conditioner and headboard.

but they still can't offset the condition of this tired, worn out facility. While clean the carpets are worn, the A/C makes enough noise to convince you it really is working, and the water damage in the bathroom was unhealthy looking (mold?)

but once the drapes were closed with the AC running we never heard a thing.

There was a leak onto our bathroom floor around the toilet.

The a.c. units filter didn't seem to have ever been cleaned.

We discovered that the heater was not working and talked to the manager.

Rude front desk ,loud air conditioner, crappy sunny side breakfast.

Room was not the cleanest, bathroom could have used a bit more attention.

The shower rumbled so loudly neighbors were pounding on our walls so we didn't get to shower.

But for the money I paid, I can’t tell you how disappointing the breakfast amenity was.

Would have been a 5 star rating if our rate was adjusted for the pool not being available (no mention of this unavailable amenity on their website or in person).

There was dried dog feces on the floor the toilet was dirty all the base boards were gray ( painted white ) the worst thing was when my husband felt something g crawling I.

the showeres water leaked down inside the shower wall and almost nothing came from the ehad itself.

The floors and walls were filthy despite the clean tub and toilet.

No shower curtain and the jacuzzi bathtub had nasty stuff coming out of the jets  like it hadn't been cleaned for $300 rip off most definitely!

Front door need to be kicked to open, bathroom door not closing unless you fight it hard and won’t latch anyway.

Room smelled of smoke, hair all over the bathroom, water fixture in shower came off while in use.

but the bathroom bathtub looked like something out of a very cheap and rundown hotel.

but the facilities in the bathroom need some attention.

but our bathroom could use some updating.

The location is easy to get off and on the freeway.

It's right off the freeway and next to a truck stop so location is good.

The location was great because it was just off the freeway.

Overall pretty quiet property considering it's by a truckstop and close to the freeway.

This motel is easy to access from the freeway.

This motel is on the outskirts of town near the freeway, so if you are looking to stay and not have to go into town, it is a good location.

This hotel would be better suited for an overnight quick stay as it's adjacent to the main freeway.

Excellent access to freeway on and off ramps.

Rooms clean, hotel easy access to freeway, if I could have a first floor room stay would be above average, as it was it was average.

It was not within walking distance to anything and is near the Freeway.

Being close to a major rail line and freeway room was exceptionally quite.

Convenient location off the freeway and next to gas stations.

Easy turn off the Freeway and your there!

Traveling west on I-40, this La Quinta is easy to find right off the freeway.

It's right on the freeway (58) and near a huge Love's travel center with a big store, gasoline, Subway, and McDonalds.

I needed a one night stay at a convenient place by the freeway.

but there was never a manager on duty for all three days we were there.

although she said to expect to hear from the manager, I never did.

Had to call the manager the next day to have a receipt emailed to me.

She insisted the only person that could decide if I warranted a refund was Manager, Abigail Murray.

No follow-up from management as promised.

At check-in, the manager invented a requirement to you had to call after booking and reserve a special dog room.

but management did not call me back on the situation?

I called back and tried to explain it to the manager and she told me that nothing could be done and hung up the phone on me.

We will never stay at the La Quinta Inn in Tehachapi  The manager, Kim, yelled at us and was the worst manager we have ever dealt with.

The manager of the hotel refused to talk to them & would not refund our monies for the entire week.

We also observed the manager hounding the employees in the breakfast room.

Someone was smoking on our floor and I reported it to the management as this is a 100% NO SMOKING MOTEL. .

The general manager is a total jerk  Do not stay at this place  This guy should be fired or at least demoted to parking lot cleaner  The place is a mess.

Went to front desk and asked about manager the desk clerk said she had talked to the manager and they would give us 5 min to get out of the room if we didn't like it.

I was very appreciative this hotel excepted dogs

Property was littered with trash and pet excrement.

We chose this property because it was one of the few pet friendly hotels in town.

We had reserved months early for a long distance move and had a dog that met the requirements (under 50 pounds).

It's quite adequate for us and our Aussie-doodle (Aussie sheperd/poodle cross) dog companion.

Being a pet friendly room, room was very clean and no odors.

I would suggest this property to anyone, plus, they accept dogs.

We use to stay there before we got the dog.

I'm assuming this is a pet friendly room because of this.

Once we arrived, we found the front desk employee with a huge basket of dirty and smelly linen right in front of the main entrance.

The cereal was stale, and the waffle machine was out of order.

There was no internet even before electricity went out Place grounds were nasty.

They front area was in need of vacuuming and there was a strong perfume scent that I can't help was masking the need for cleaning.

If you have any underlying medical risk factors for aerosol poisons or their surface residue, BEWARE!

The floor was filthy, and our socks became black.

Rooms reeked of cigarette smoke and weed.

DirecTV only works on 2 channels, no poop bags in the receptacle, so dog poop everywhere, no Do Not Disturb sign for the door, no ice bucket in an overly deodorized room.

I couldn't tell if the bathtub had staining near the drain, or if it just didn't get cleaned very well.

I was charged with a $250 smoking fee in the room which never occurred.

Going to southern California, we always stay at this Best Western - it's a very attractive place with comfortable beds and good breakfast.

I stay at this property every time I work in Tehachapi because it is clean, bed is very comfortable, and the breakfast a good.

Conveniently located, friendly front desk, comfortable beds, and a newer property are among the benefits of this hotel.

Long drive on a chilly day brought us to warm, lovely hotel with large,quiet rooms and comfortable beds.

The flaws became obvious the moment I walked into the lobby to check in. The first words out of the clerk's mouth were "license and payment card."

If you are traveling with several devices, it will be difficult to charge them at night as the rooms lack sufficient USB ports.

I arrived to find the lady at the registration desk wanted to charge me $50 more than my confirmed wedding reservation rate.

Not only is she super confused, she decides she needs to charge me, again, for the previous four nights saying she she doesn’t have my charge slip.

but some part of the transaction was not completed which would usually be my error.

As often happens with promotions, the desk clerk was not familiar with the right way to enter the gift cards, so the reward added 10 minutes or so to check in.

Staff booked wrong night, charged my account and at my arrival refused to honor my real reservation.

Then she just stared at me until I said checking in, and then demanded my last name and credit card without even telling me the total.

I was charged twice for my reservation after confirming 2 rooms a few weeks previously.

Then when checking out, you put your card in a box.

I put my 2 card keys with the note and left.

That is something I can’t handle after having our cards used previously by someone when we were on a trip.

READ ON FOR FRAUD, THEFT and OVERCHARGES.

They charged me a day that I would have canceled.

Arrived late at this hotel, gave front desk credit card to change payment method.

As of this review, no extra charge noticed yet.

Also,  the incompetent lady (Asian) who worked at the front desk charged us for one night and I corrected her and said we made reservation for two nights, so she had to charge us a second time.

I tried to fight it with the hotel and credit card company.

even though I'm British and don't have an AAA or AARP card!

The staff are friendly and helpful and the location is close to shopping and dining.

Ty who checked us in was friendly, dressed professionally, was courteous, great customer service skills.

The night staff "V" was especially friendly and helpful.

Due to unusual circumstances, I had no phone on me,

Once I got a human on the phone, comprehending pre and post was like explaining Newtonian physics to a caveman.

After confirming that the guest in the 2nd room would have no issue checking in, I get a call at midnight from her saying she can't check in and they didn't have her room.

Also, there was a group of four young men in the very small lobby, working on their phones.

Then the TV wasn’t working I had to call twice to have it fixed, they sent a repairman now me and him are both on a hot room with no mask it was just a recipe for failure.The final nail in the coffin was the shower water got  cold after only a few minutes.

Our only issue if you could call it that was that the person at the check in desk one one of the nights clearly did not have English as her first language and her verbal communication skills were rather limited.

My husband left several items behind including bathroom essentials, a prescription & phone charger.

If I was treated like this on the phone, I wasn't about to find out how I would be treated in person.

The owner knew about it and had said to call the manager.

But room had couple of burnt out light bulbs and the in room telephone appeared to be inoperable.

Rather than fullfill my request for a refund, she proceeded to verbally abuse me to the point where I was forced to call the Tehachapi Police department to calm her down.

The rooms are clean and in good condition.

Room was clean and everything worked well including the shower.

Because the room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was good … and particularly because the maid exceptional, I would give this place another chance.

We were surprised at the cleanliness of the room we were in.

Laundry room was clean and they offer quarters which made my life easier when I ran out.

The room was clean and the cleaning staff was also very friendly.

Although the room was clean, it smelled a little “sweaty”, so  some fresh air would have been nice.

They said we already checked in and would not give another room or refund!

She was so rude; just because we asked if we could have an early check-in.

I don't think the cleaners did much about checking the fridge for leftovers, which I had to toss out.

Night check in person was not friendly or accommodating.

We didn’t understand that until after we made the reservation and checked in.

Got to the hotel checked in and was charges 238.04 the next day I got home checked my bank account was charged 238.04 by best Western and a charge od 619.38 from cci*hotelres i called both companies and they blamed each other bweeare when making reservations

Also, when we checked out and ask if they had coffee to go, a different staff member merely said "no".

Their grab and go breakfast had no choices, just a breakfast sandwich.I will never stay here again and strongly considered leaving right after our arrival.

however we were told we could not have adjoining rooms, nor could we make any changes after check-in.

When she was ready and had started the check in, she did not apologize.

During this time the "to late to cancel without charge" time arrived.

When we arrived at the Tehachapi BWPlus, we were told that we didn't have a reservation and to check next door at the Sure Stay.

I followed up with Best Western corporate the day I checked out, and was told the management stated there was no black mold.

Dirty rooms, threadbare sheets, squeaky floors above, super rude checking person, outside entry facing empty shopping center, gapes around door.

Both toilet paper holders were out of paper when we checked in.

When I arrived they would not give the suite to me.

The air conditioner was off when I arrived, so the room was hot; and the refrigerator was off as well.

When I checked  out I mentioned this to day clerk.

We should have gotten suspicious when they handed out ear plugs at the check in.

Super close walk to old town area, restaurants, practically across from famous bakery and train station museum.

Rooms are clean hotel is close to downtown and eating places.
