The hotel is family run and the comfortable rooms and public areas are decorated in charming individual style.

I went to the spa a couple of days, they have two separate areas, a nude spa & a clothed spa.

This is a typical Austrian styled hotel and the bar area was  cosy and a comfortable place to have the afternoon treats.

We were given our own area in the restaurant for ourselves and our guests, which was really personal and appreciated.

The ski area is open, cable car 5 minute walk, conditions are perfect, we had sunny days it was what we call Paradise.

The cozy bar area was great to relax in on an evening before retiring to our room.

The hotel common areas are pretty, decorated with a lots of nick-nacks and in a alpine style.

but in previous years we have stayed in all of the other areas.

Wonderful spa for families with pool and jacuzi and an additional adults nude area downstairs.

A big roaring fire- lovely bar and lounge area and the decor is just lovely.

The hotel has a nice reception and bar area, and a clean relaxing spa.

For the size of the hotel, the wellness area is large and comfortable.

Also fab trips up cable cars to good mountain walks and views

The room was really different to all the hotels we had been in, it had so much character, the bed was huge and it had a lovely cosy seating area.

This whole picturesque area must look really beautiful in snow.

but the bike was easy to use and the area around the lake is nice and flat and we felt safe on the cycle paths.

From Breakfast to Dinner the food was excellent and the service superb..
Set in a beautiful area of Zell just 2 mins walk to the lake.

Every member of staff encountered were pleasant and helpful, bar one our waiter at Dinner.

The younger members Sebastian & Anna, 4th generation of the family add to the ideas, they are opening a  beach bar the first one in Zell am See on the 20th of June, what a great idea, certainly looking forward to visiting  that, cocktails here we go.

We have also come across a very rude bar waiter who has thought appropriate to teach our child some good manners.

Pascal was great on the bar on a night after our meal.

The bar staff also help out at meal times, and Karin is always so helpful and nice, we love seeing her every year – she works fewer days now so we missed her at the end of our stay,

The bar is very attractive in the centre of the hotel.

Great location, great staff, lovely cosy bar with roaring fire, enjoyed the spa area, food and great skiing - also worth the bus trip to Saalbach which has extensive runs ( I think it is being joined to Zell am See next season ).

but within a couple of minutes you are at the shops or bars for some apres ski.

The bar is a very warm, welcoming place for an after dinner drink.

It is very close to all the local bars, ski shops and also ski lifts which is perfect.

This is a beautiful, very typical Austrian hotel located in the heart of town yet enjoying peace and quiet away from the noisy bars.

Amazing facilities, lovely staff and delicious food!

In the afternoon we relaxed by the lovely pool, ate cake in the garden, (yummy) and then we had drinks before our gourmet dinner.

The food is amazing - delicious, varied, beautifully presented and plenty of it.

The rooms are comfortable and well appointed, and the restaurant serves a good breakfast buffet with traditional items and a varied dinner a mix of buffet and waiter service.

Breakfast has everything you can think of & more.

Both buffet and a la cart meals on offer - the quality of the meals were like a 4/5-star restaurant.

The breakfast was really nice & you had a selection of everything & vegan

So that is breakfast at the Romantik, the best you will have - I put 5 pounds on last week as a result!

The hotel is situated in the centre of the village, some 5 minute walk from the main lift, which is welcome after an excellent selection at breakfast both hot and cold..

Buffet breakfast was great and the cheese soup, the very best.

Our guests adored the hotel, wedding breakfast and atmosphere.

Breakfast, a great selection, freshly cooked, delicious breads everything that you could wish for, you don't leave the table hungry.

The COVID concept for the breakfast (buffet) could also be improved.

We had a perfect breakfast with everything you want.

The Apple tree in the garden must be ready to make Apple Strudel with vanilla sauce, yummy.

Several of the courses involved a buffet which with the coronavirus situation meant people in very close proximity which is very good.

Every morning we had a delicious breakfast to set us up for our day on the slopes.

Erika has been here for many years, and the breakfast is predominantly self-service

I only went to the clothed area & they have a jacuzzi, two saunas, loungers and an indoor pool (very small) which open out to the outdoor pool at 5pm.

but you did have to wait for the omelette station to open for omelettes served by rather surly chefs (and not too hygienic when wearing dirty aprons and using dirty spatulas and cooking with bloody finger bandages- no protective finger stools used) The beauty of our hotel package was that we could make our own packed lunches- the hotel provided the brown paper bag.

It generally doesn't open until 4.30pm and its advertised to close at 6pm.

Our room was on the first floor so no view from the balcony and it was a little warm overnight (had to open windows)

There is a decent garden, and I believe an excellent spa with small pool.

The spa are is super with many treatments to enjoy, relax, swim in the indoor to outdoor pool.

The outdoor heated pool is also beautiful and very surreal with the mountain views!

I went to the indoor pool & jacuzzi once in the day & was lovely & quiet as everyone is out on the mountains
I went again at 4:30pm so I could use the outdoor pool & sauna & it was busy

The facilities, pool where you can swim indoor to outdoor, spa good to relax the muscles, sauna, infra red sauna many other things to enjoy.

The spa and pool area are a welcome haven after a days skiing and so relaxing.

The staff are very helpful with advice, helping book things, sorting ski-passes out etc.Swimming in the outdoor pool whilst it is snowing takes some beating.

but the other spa is also equipped with saunas, whirlpool bath, indoor  / outdoor pool, the treatment rooms and even water beds.

It was nice to be able to swim from the indoor section of the pool to the outdoor section during the night when the temperature is at freezing point!

The pool and spa facilities again were spotless and we used these most days.

The pool & Wellness spa are great to relax, with massages & many treatments.

but adequate swimming pool and beautiful gardens to relax in.

The decor was typical Austrian and the pool greatly appreciated at the end of a day walking in the mountains.

The hotel is conveniently located in Zell am See and benefits from a lovely pool and spa area.

The grounds of the hotel are lovely and the pools were nice to swim in.

Most people were on half board basis and the standard of the table D'hote food was also first class according to the other residents.

The food was absolutely fab too, everything was so tasty and well presented - we were half board and would definitely do the same again.

We stayed on a half board basis which had a daily set menu with good choice of very high quality dishes (1 meat, fish and vegi + soup, salad and pudding), my daughter is rather fussy and the staff accommodated her request for beige food.

but with delicious food and is well worth the ‘Full Board’ rate!

Travelled for a skiing trip with a group of friends on half board basis in early March.

The food is fantastic, we was half board, hot and cold breakfast and 3 course evening dinner plus salad bar.

We stayed as a large group with half board option in ski season.

Food: absolutely beautiful, reasonably priced, nice atmosphere in the restaurant, good choice at breakfast buffet (if staying half board).

The food all week was exceptional, with us being half board we had breakfast and dinner.

The food (we were half board well worth it) is top quality, beautifully presented and cooked served in a candlelight dinning room.

(The bus station is also where to catch the 660 bus to the Kaprun Glacier (40 min journey) for a day out -also included on the ski pass)

Came for a one week ski trip with a few friends end of jan very good location very friendly staff we were on a half board bases food was very good the only thing for me the breakfast could have been hotter.

Really enjoyed the lovely continental breakfasts while sitting on the front terrace admiring the lake.

Hot water plentiful and beds comfortable.

Seebar was closed during our visit which was a shame.

but despite this we did not hear a thing when the door to the balcony was closed.

but with the window closed you will not be disturbed.

On our transfer to the hotel, we had noticed that the local eateries were closing or closed.

but, being winter, we had the window closed so trains did not bother us in the least.

So if the trains aren't a problem, the late night drinking might be (although it was closed during our stay).

We were there during their slow time and the restaurant was closed

but unfortunately it was closed on Monday when we wanted to try that.

Upon reaching the property, found out it was closed, leaving us stranded in the cold.

The only point I should raise is that the beginning of May should be avoided if you want a lively stay as quite a large part of Zell is closed prior to the summer season which starts in mid May.

On such a trip we do prefer to arrive at the hotel and not have to go out for dinner so were disappointed to find the restaurant closed.

however, with the windows closed the noise was minimal and it seemed like the frequency of passing trains at night drops significantly, as we enjoyed undisturbed sleep (without using earplugs).

When we saw ear plugs were provided we were worried about noise as the train runs just outside, there wasn't a problem when the double glazed windows were closed you didn't hear any noise.

In the evening there was the occasional freight train that didn't stop at the station so they were far less noisy, with the window closed you could barely hear it all.

With the windows closed, we did not find the train noise an issue.

However, with windows closed this didn't present a problem for any of us, even with windows open it didn't present any problems for me.

The owners and staff were incredibly friendly and efficient.

but probably because the beds were so comfortable and the room temperature was perfect; even when we kept the window open the trains and church never disturbed us.

Oh and if your still worried about the noise.

As they mentioned on their website, noises from train can be heard for lake view rooms

The adjacent trains, did cause some relatively minor noise issues for some of us,

The rest more than makes up for that and its only the cargo trains that are a bit noisy.

Yes, the train tracks are between it and the lake, and the trains can be noisy,

but this did not take away any of the charm and we did not hear the train unless we had the window open.

We were in room 12 facing the train tracks and never had any problems with noise as some people mentioned previously.

We stayed for three nights,  I would be amiss if I did not mention the trains, yes there were trains going past regularly, we had a lakeside room so in a position to comment, whilst occasionally I heard a train during the night the noise did not ruin my sleep, we had 3 good sleeps staying there.

but to pay for a badly prepared dish, also she mentioned things like "your country" and "your people", which was not very nice to hear.

My only gripe was the train noise from outside. .

There are longer freight trains that are louder

My only problem is as an avid train enthusiast I didn't hear or see a train all week gutted.

The proximity to the train line didn't bother us - yes we could hear trains occasionally passing during the evening,

Despite the closeness of the railway our sleep was never disturbed.

As for the comments by previous posters on the noise from the trains, there is some noise from the incoming or outgoing trains

Other reviews here make a point about the train noise, and yes, it's noisier at the front of the hotel.

Booked Hotel Seehof, 3 days before arriving for a week's skiing Feb 19th -26th, room 35.

We prefer Gestein for skiing, this is nothing to do with the hotel.

We stayed at the Seehof during have term week for a skiing holiday, booked via a package holiday.

Close to the PostPlatz where local buses ran for all of the skiing venues, as well as a lot of the eating venues and bars for the expected apres-ski.

By far the best skiing accommodation we have ever had.

The beds are really comfy and the bathroom great for a relaxing shower after a hard days walking or skiing.

Useful ski room for drying and storage of ski boots and skis. Our room was big enough and comfortable enough and we had a bath (essential to us after a hard days skiing!)

Stayed on a weeks' skiing holiday (with Crystal) and having visited many other Austrian Alpine resorts (Soll, St Anton, Westendorf, Obergurgl, Ischgl) I can safely say this is the friendliest hotel.

I stayed at the hotel Seehof with my partner for a skiing holiday in Zell for a week.

The skiing and snow conditions were superb 

Top tip if skiing you can rent a locker at city express to leave skis and boot overnight.

The skiing was brilliant  and we popped over to Kaprun for a day and it was a  lovely area.

I have just had a very enjoyable week skiing in Zell am See whilst staying at the Seehof hotel.

Overall a lovely place which really made our skiing holiday one to remember.

Came here with a party of 6 adults and 5 kids for a skiing trip, the hotel was brilliant staff almost like family, food was great.

We have just come back from a weeks skiing holiday staying in the Hotel Seehof.

The food is incredible and lovely relaxing bar area for drinks after skiing.

but did not find this a problem when going to sleep.

The hotel is right next to the train track, making it inconvenient to sleep.

but after being given ear plugs on the 3rd night I slept a little better.

but in-frequent again neither bothered me or disturbed my sleep( I;m not a heavy sleeper).

but they never woke us up during the night.

The cleaning staff was vacuuming, moving furniture with no consideration for the people who wanted to sleep.

Literally, feels like you sleep on the railway! 2.

I reckon to have 1-2 nights disrupted sleep per week

However if you are a light sleeper the trains may disturb your sleep so it would be worth requesting a mountain view room rather than a lake view room.

but didn't bother us and we managed to sleep late every day (and I am a very light sleeper!).

although the train line runs along the front of the hotel it certainly didn't ruin our sleep, we were knackered after a days skiing and apres ski.

however the trains are quiet and there is no vibration from them, it never woke me up and I am a light sleeper!

As it was unusually mild for this time of year it was very warm in the room even with the radiators off so we needed to sleep with the patio door open.
