Nice modern rooms with a lovely color choices and nice touches: ceiling fan and illuminated light switches.

Pretty much what you would expect from a relatively new Hotel: Modern styling, clean, spacious rooms, efficient service.

The hotel has a modern design and is the cleanest hotel I have ever staied in.

This motel is an oasis in a remote oil town: Clean rooms,  extensive breakfast, comfortable beds, helpful staff.

The beds are comfortable and the pillows aren't those crazy, super fluffy ones that you tend to find in hotels these days (the kind that make your neck hurt).

The Best Western is in the old downtown, not on Kern Street, a city street designated as Hwy 33 that has become another retail district

With everything related to Travel expensive, the BW gives customers the money worthwhile.

After a day of traveling from San Francisco towards Palm Springs, we needed a place to stay overnight.

At the entrance is a metal sculpture of an oil well pump jack, the thing most travelers notice first, which looks like the toy bird that bobs up and down in water, this is what it is).The hallways are lined with photos, mostly b&w

Until this Best Western Inn opened, Taft had only small older motels to offer travelers.

We travel occasionally on I5 between NorCal and SoCal; it would be worth the trip off of I5 if we needed to stay overnight in this area.

We had to change our CA coast itinerary when Rte 1 got washed out from the excessive rain and my sister, who was traveling with us,  became ill.

On our travels the wife and I have stayed in many high end motels and hotels,

Could use a larger shower drop to protect the life of the walls and such.

I am staying here for approximately 28 days for work and the walls are paper thin it seems.

This was the cleanest and most comfortable & reasonably priced motel ever.

It was very comfortable and clean, not like the Ritz,

Holland Inn is a reasonably priced hotel which is clean and comfortable.

The room was clean and the beds and pillows were comfortable.

Bed is very comfortable (not too soft) and the owners are very diligent to keep the place clean.

Our room was large, the beds were comfortable, and we had a nice stay.

This place was  super nice, The amenities are there if not more so, The bed was comfortable, Room was cozy, It was a complete hidden gem, I would have never known this was awesome until I stayed here,  5 stars

Adequate service when checking in and comfortable beds.

I stayed upstairs and had a hard time getting through the front door with no landing at the top of stairs.

The front door to the hotel automatically locks so no one can just wonder into the hotel which is awesome.

You can hear people walking or taking shower upstairs & people talking or TV from next door.

Only 1 way in or out, so you have to hand-carry through the front door,  and parking is somewhat limited.

From the friendly welcome through to the good wishes on our departure two days later, we felt at home in this comfortable hotel.

The rooms are also very clean and the staff is very friendly.

Lighting in the room was a bit dim, especially without light over the sitting area,

In addition to that, the light over the vanity only illuminated to about 20% of what it should.

Only one of the two ceiling lights worked and the one window was filthy.

Thankfully, it was never too loud as to awaken our daughter.

My only criticism is that being in the first floor, I could hear the quest above me walking around and his TV.

And yes, the bathroom light/fan is super loud!

Sadly, the bathroom fan was so loud you could hear it over the TV.

Some movements in the hotel corridor during the nights, it is apparently used by oil workers working in shifts.

The traffic outside was noisy so I never slept.

If you have a room on the side facing the street, bring earplugs because it is pretty noisy with all of the cars that go by and kids playing loud music.

The hotel's staff (well, the one person we met) was extremely nice and accommodating.

What a nice place-great front desk, spacious clean room, micro-fridge and microwave.

The owners are the nicest people and always welcome me with a smile.

Staff was very gracious and made sure our stay was enjoyable.

The staff was very pleasant, so I drove over there.

Rooms are spotless and the Wi-Fi reception is quite good allowing for effortless streaming.

The guy in the office was very nice and we had no issues.

The room itself was spacious, included a sofa, desk, tv, large bed, microwave & mini-fridge.

The price was right, and the room was spacious (king bed and couch, with plenty of room to spare).

The rooms are clean, quiet and spacious with comfortable king size beds.

This motel is just fine if all you're looking for is a clean bed and a place to take a shower in the morning.

The room itself was very clean, everything did work fine ( flat screen TV, bathroom, bed was fine too ) and in the morning after 7 am you have coffee in the Lobby, nothing more.

Its clean, rooms are big, and the bed was great.

Room had microwave, refrig & firm bed & cost $45 ("standard rate").

The shower and bathroom were extremely clean, as were the bedding.

but the room was clean and the bed wasnt bad.

although there were a couple stains on the carpet from much use I'd imagine.

Pool was very clean, If you want to raise Hell and no one to care if you do, then this is your place, neighborhood Dogas barked all night too.

The pool is sparkling clean and refreshing.

It was ok for one night, room was clean and the shower ok. WiFi was ok.

but the room had been reasonably renovated, was a good size and most importantly clean.

This motel has been remodeled and was clean, nice, everything worked, fast internet, easy to get on.

It is a quiet, clean place in the tiny town of Maricopa.

We found it clean, well-maintained, quiet & perfectly comfortable 1/12 and last year when we stayed 2/11.

but comfortable enough for a nights stay.

I'll start with the Friendly guy at the front desk from Fiji.

The Motel keeper was such an amazingly friendly guy.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

The only reason we didn't leave is because it was late.

The owner clearly cares about the property.

The owners are always making improvements.

I love staying here and catching up with the very nice owner.

It's a very traditional upper scale Mexican style, tile and a rug, great shower, TV on the wall, and a great restaurant attached!

Our room was adequate - old blankets and cheap furnishings: just about as basic as you would want to go.

The check-in was easy and the hotel staff was very friendly.

the management is very friendly in this tourist backwater of rural California.

And the restraunt on the premeses was perfect!

Great hosts, the rooms are more than adequate and you are 30' from one of the best Mexican restaurants in town.

Basic motel, close to the movie theater and a yummy mexican restaurant.

but adjoins a fine authentic mexican restaurant  and has a large swimming pool.

The rooms had all been remodeled and were very clean and reasonably priced.

The rooms always looked clean and smelled better than when we left them every night we returned.

Recently renovated, the room had ceramic tile floors, and the shower was fully tiled with sliding glass doors.

The rooms are clean, large and the beds firm and comfortable.

I late stayed there on 12/29/09 and the rooms where clean, bathroom was clean, and check-in was quick.

I would highly recommended that if anyone is needing a place to stay in Barstow to go talk to Jimmy the owner and he will make your stay good as well.

Frankly, I don't know why this place gets the top reviews for Taft - unless all the others are really dreadful.

Air con was noisy, as it so often is, and we would have liked to open the window an inch or two
