Every time I come to this area on business my first choice is always Best Western Taft.

Taft is in an oil-producing area and that is the bedrock of its economy.

I used all amenities during my stay (fitness room, business center, breakfast and lobby area) all areas exceeded my expectations.

This is probably the best hotel in the area.

My room and the reception area where exceptionally clean,  well maintained and nicely furnished, every thing in my room was in working order,  nice amenities, the breakfast provided was great had a lot to choose from, which I greatly appreciate, had a great stay, highly recommend

in the middle of a rural area, one can find the 2 years new Best Western Plus Taft Inn, which is a delight.

We stayed here en route from Bay Area to S California.

Having a pool is a plus in this hot area!

There are plenty of places to eat in the area.

The manager was very helpful with area information, directions, restaurant recommendations and gave my disposable plates and cutlery so I could warm up my left over lunch for dinner.

The pool area was clean and well maintained.

Very convenient when visiting family in the area.

Easy stay for NGPC, quick trip out to the track, convenient to grocery store, gas stations and both restaurants and fast food.

Desk clerk had good recommendation on open food locations..  WE had a great meal at a local place.

Its walking Distance to a few eateries, Bars & a short distance to other numerous spots including Asian Experience(must try Restaurant hosted on DDD).

If you want fast food or gas marts, go to Kern Street,

Delightful swimming pool, good food (skip the oat meal) and delicious coffee.

The nearby highway is where one would go to access the grocery store, gas, and fast food places i.e. McDonalds.

For lunch or dinner I recommend eating at Jo's Family Restaurant.

Excellent micro brewery in town which also serves food.

Downtown Taft is a nice, quiet place. It was nice to walk downtown and get some local food (not fast food or chain restaurant)

The included breakfast was hot and tasty, offering scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, biscuits and gravy.

The staff have always been very pleasant.

Hotel was clean and spacious; and the staff was nice and helpful.

Upon arrival we were created in a timely manner and the front desk was very helpful and professional, the lobby was decorated for the holiday and it smelled like Christmas for sure!

I have stayed in Taft before in the last 4-5 years and Best Western was the greatest thing they have for hotels.

The continental breakfast (available in the hallway) is extremely small and consisted only of coffee/tea, bananas, and pre-packaged danishes.

The breakfast was a banana and a packaged sugar roll.

but it doesn't really make up for the lack of amenities, such as no continental breakfast, no welcoming lobby, no elevator, etc.

As with most old buildings, the electrical outlets were worn out, and when you plug something in, it just falls out - one of my pet peeves.

Used to be an apartment building, so design is a little odd.

Currently, when you close the drapes it's very dark.

The room they put us in as dark, dingy, and freezing cold.

From the friendly welcome through to the good wishes on our departure two days later, we felt at home in this comfortable hotel.

I booked a room at this hotel based on the reviews, and they did not disappoint.

Plus it's nice and clean, a big plus in my book.

I would definitely stay there again, in fact I already reserved it for July.

lots of good eats nearby too, especially "Asian Experience".

but with the fridge and microwave in the room, ate dinner and breakfast in my room.

The hotel is in town and we were able to walk to a restaurant.

The owners are the nicest people and always welcome me with a smile.

Bed is very comfortable (not too soft) and the owners are very diligent to keep the place clean.

The guy in the office was very nice and we had no issues.

The Holland Inn & Suites in the little town of Taft, Calif., is an affordable and overall pleasant place to stay.

This is absolutely my home away from home when I'm in Taft visiting.

but nonetheless, if we went back to Taft, which we might in the future, we will definitely stay here again.

We were driving through this part of California and Taft was a very good stopping place for a night.

If you must stay in Taft, then Holland Inn is the best option.

but if you have to stay in Taft, this place is as good a place as any to stay.

The next time I am in Taft, I will stay here again.

I don’t know of any good place to stay in Taft or Mariposa.

Motel 8 is a great base for exploring the area.

We traveled from Solvang near the coast, over the mountains on our way back to the SF bay area.

If you need to stay in this general area, the Holland Inn in Taft would be #1, this place probably # 2.

A little of everything there including a great Art Deco Theater.

Room had basic furnishings all be it mismatched.

I placed bags on my feet so that they would not touch the shower.

I'll start with the Friendly guy at the front desk from Fiji.

The Motel keeper was such an amazingly friendly guy.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

The owner clearly cares about the property.

Yes the room is reasonably clean and yes the staff is nice enough,

The owners are always making improvements.

I love staying here and catching up with the very nice owner.

The wooden doors have a deadbolt lock and a standard household doorknob lock.

When we checked in we were greeted with warm friendly people.

The doors to the rooms open directly to the parking lot.

Check in was not smooth as I made reservations through third party

They seemed to be hosting a lot of oilworkers when I was there.

And Jo's restaurant is only two and a half blocks away

but comfortable and easy to walk to food and downtown restaurants.

It's a convenient location in downtown Taft within walking distance of restaurants and shops.

but well laid out and furnished with queen bed, student desk and chair, a simple armchair, microwave and (new) fridge, and coffee maker.

Cars were very secure in a horseshoe style.

Our room was adequate - old blankets and cheap furnishings: just about as basic as you would want to go.

The check-in was easy and the hotel staff was very friendly.

the management is very friendly in this tourist backwater of rural California.

Basic motel, close to the movie theater and a yummy mexican restaurant.

And the restraunt on the premeses was perfect!

It's a very traditional upper scale Mexican style, tile and a rug, great shower, TV on the wall, and a great restaurant attached!

Great hosts, the rooms are more than adequate and you are 30' from one of the best Mexican restaurants in town.

but adjoins a fine authentic mexican restaurant  and has a large swimming pool.

The rooms are small, good for two people.

I would highly recommended that if anyone is needing a place to stay in Barstow to go talk to Jimmy the owner and he will make your stay good as well.

And the owners went out of there way to accommodate us!!

The front desk lady is sweet, I think they are from India.

Air con was noisy, as it so often is, and we would have liked to open the window an inch or two
