Don't worry if you late for breakfast in the hotel, you can easily go to restaurant and coffee shop to find brunch which is side by side by the hotel.

Get a hotel with  good location in center Surabaya , clean , smart n simple hotel  , good service ,   good choice for breakfast / varian item breakfast , graphic art design making imagination and idea to create at home . .

We had to take the lift to level 2, and struggled again with our baggage to the level 1.

Since the manager on duty has left for the night, after waiting about an hour (we decided to eat at the restaurant located across the lobby), we had to put a hold on our credit card, just in case they could not find the reservation the next morning.

but lack of table, so I put my bag&my belongings in the floor.

Although I love the practical space they have in the room, I found it difficult  for me to put my cabin sized luggage, because their "luggage rack" is located behind the bathroom's sliding door (it's a very smart design, actually) and the luggage came in the way of the door, so I moved the luggage several times and finally decided just to put it on the floor.

In case you want to go to bed early for whatever reason & if your are staying on the second floor closer to the lobby, you can hear the band paying.

but different case with those in restaurant.

There was no band on Saturday and Sunday and I was moved to the sixth (top) floor in any case, so that was fine.

Which means, for guests with a smartphone and an ipad would need to ask for 2 password and in my case, I had to ask for 2 passwords 4 times for each day i was there.

Their coffee machine is slow and sometimes empty for beans.

Check-in process was not smooth as well, I asked them to speak to their managers and their response was slow until I did not have any will to deliver my concerns again.

The speed was really slow from my room, and I had to restart my device over and over again in order to connect with the server.

Service can be slow though, so if you're in a hurry, better look elsewhere for your meal.

Wifi was a little bit slow in one of the rooms.

The noise comes not only from the road traffic

The pillows were not fluffy enough, the hot water did not work, and the noise from the street were clearly heard even from the fifth floor.

The only downside is that the rooms are not double glazed so all the outside noise from the streets below transmits inside easily.

On the down side, the hotel is surrounded by busy roads and some of that noise spills into your room, depending on which direction your room is facing, and what floor you are.

Asked for higher floor to avoid street noise.

My room faced the street and it was rather noisy as it is on a busy thoroughfare.

And i was disturbed by the sound of the road noise.

For rooms facing the main road will be a little noisy with the sound of the vehicle.

so a bit noise from the street you have to accept.

I also had the dinner buffet a couple of times and a la carte dinners, all delicious and excellent value.

Super amazing service, complimentary fruits after dinner deliver to our room ( frm ibu Riana), and ibu Riana also make sure d breakfast team remind us try out d favourite menu ( soto ayam, french toast and croffle); and the avocado sandwich/ bruschette is d best i ever tasted 🙌😋

The hotel is quite luxurious, the food was outstanding at breakfast and the lounge was lively and fun with a great band playing and allowing hotel guests to sing as well!

Breakfast menu was many option to eat and taste good.

It was good to experience for once a fully occupied hotel and with a property breakfast buffet.

The breakfast is a great spread and we never had a problem with overcrowding since it was handled very well.

A manager was with them and he was nice, he gave us some cookies (which were delicious).

Breakfast are nice and delicious, and so are the restaurants located at the hotel.

Indonesian delicacies like Jajan Pasar , Nasi Pecel , Bubur Ayam were available every morning besides the western breakfast.

In less than 20 hours turnaround time and a 14 hours time difference between Surabaya and LA, Neny and Echyk were able to get a huge bouquet and a personalized opera cake from the bakery and delivered them tl my mom during her birthday breakfast.

the best thing in this hotel is the breakfast, and they have a room in the breakfast area that can be booked.

Our living room view was just wonderful; a city view!

Physically it was a nice space with excellent views of the city, it was also large and never felt crowded.

I would truly recommend the JW Marriott in Surabaya as one of the best hotels in the city and in east Java.

Hotel was at strategic location and easy to move around the city and is walk able to the shopping malls.

This big hotel offer spacious room, friendly staff, great breakfast selections (including ice creams), close to city attractions, and close to the train station ( Pasar Turi) - surely a great value for money.

The room was super spacious and comfy with a panoramic city view so you don’t even want to close the curtains at night to keep seeing all the lights on.

This JW Marriott hotel is located in the city center, near Tunjungan Plaza shopping center and opposite Rawon Setan, a famous local delicacies/restaurant.

Especially with the location of studio rooms in the corner, making the view from the room wider to see the view of the city of Surabaya.

The view from high floors, including from the lounge was stunning as the city is flat with not many tall buildings.There were 2 convenience stores right next to the hotel so no issue on supplies.

This is our first visit to the city of Surabaya.

We went for this hotel because of the price and where it is in the city; within easy walking distance of TP, the largest mall in Surabaya.

My credit card had some issues due to my international travel,

The first impression was to be greeted by the valet who handed us a card that said we'd be charged 50k to park our car.

I used the hotel credit in the coffee lounge during my stay.

So I don’t understand the rationale for charging bottled water placed in the room.

The waiter in charge offered to prepare vegetarian dish the next day

However during a 3 day Christmas break upon check the hotel debited my debit card for deposit as per usual.

Although the gym is 24 hours and could be accessed using your room card, too bad that the Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna could only be accessed until 11 PM, I sometimes miss the opportunity to use them when I return from work after 11 PM.

Was surprised again when paying the bill,  that they charged Rp.

They keep the things you left behind and if you contact them, they still preserve your thing and might offer to send the thing to your place if you are not in town (though they add charges,

Its becouse of the feeling of Dark, old n not really up to the JW Marriot Standard i think.

Then SOGO security inform me that the dark colour car is for transfer vehicle to Marriot.

Room is also a bit dark and the closet seat was not quite proper (I think the installation of the seat was not precise enough so when I sit on it, it kinda slides).

It is because the lighting in the aisle or corridor felt a bit dark.

The lobby is really elegant and there are a lot of events in the hotel, and I liked sitting there and seeing the "beautiful people" of Surabaya come and go.

The staffs were nice, saying hi at every possible moment, and even finding a little time to chat here and there was pleasing.

The Pavilion restaurant has a pleasant ambiance!

While the hotel is quite old already (and appear in the overall design), everything was clean and well maintained.

Christmas decoration at lobby was so beautiful.

The mouth watering dishes will please you and accompanied by pleasant atmosphere..it will certainly make your day.

Nice pool and the garden has a great atmosphere when you have a wedding celebration.

The atmosphere is joyful, the staff are tremendously friendly and helpful, not to mention the food that is beyond expectation.

During the event I was a part of in Aug 2019 both Indonesian and international guests were very pleased and complimented the food daily as the catering options provided were both very delicious and inviting.

The room was spacious, with a local touch in terms of decoration, and all the usual amenities.

For dinner we went to the Uppercut Restaurant.

The hotel staff are extremely friendly, the restaurants inside the hotel are great.

although it would be great if it has more selection of beer brand.

First it took them 15 mins to run back and ask if I should cancel 1 dish as it has mushroom which Im allergic to and asked them.

There are hot and cold dishes, salads, cakes - a very coherent and allround offering.

It would be perfect if the eggs were not cooked earlier so then the guests would not find their eggs cold on their plate, and fresh orange juice would match Marriott's image rather than packed OJ with sugar in it.

However, the choice of vegetarian dishes was very limited.

A pity there weren't more Indonesian dishes on the menu.

Slightest little hiccup at breakfast where they cleared my full cup of tea and husbands plate of food when we went to the buffet.

Our car was hit by the vallet boy recklessly.

Despite retrieving the account with my wife's email address, the lady insisted to register with new account while keep entering the new number to her computer. Strange.

One more thing quite shocking and disappointing was the Vallet Parking is not Free, even for the hotel guest who stay in the hotel.

Leaving the main road you would not expect this hotel arrangemente: vallet guys everywhere, warm front desk.

The breakfast menu, oh my God, is excellent!

The condition of the breakfast is very crowded, even take a place outside the restaurant.

I brought my daughter and she was thrilled when she has ice cream for breakfast.

Staff are friendly and professional specially: FO, restaurant (a friendly woman at breakfast time, she's professional and nicely talked with me), security, housekeeping and technician.

For the breakfast menu, I really like it.

Every detail of the room was cleaned spotless and every feature of the room are in perfect working order (small note on the iron-press; which was not cleaned properly - got my shirt slightly stained due to pre-existing water in the steam container)

however, the highlight of my stay was the extensive spread of the buffet breakfast and the delightful selection they had for dinner.

I am enjoyed while breakfast, full all you can eat buffet, responsible take your meals and finish it dear.

I notice some hotel employees performs "cold" service in FPS.

Food (and the dessert as well) was amazing (both taste and presentation) and just little bit feeling blue, that they don't have hot beverages (tea, coffee) as would usually be seen in ordinary buffet dinner, knowing the restaurant's temperature was greatly cold.

though he is busy making many orders, still wholeheartedly makes hot cappuccinos with art latte and says "thank you, enjoy, sir".

Located on the top of Tunjungan Plaza 4, the lobby is so modern-setting with a splash of color and natural light.

It is a very comfortable atmosphere, and the breakfast menu is very varied and perfect.

This is in stark contrast to the otherwise outstanding service provided to guests.

Same with Tunjungan Plaza Shopping centre as you can enjoy the shopping.

The menu is extensive, complete, and very tasty, even better than other 5-star hotels in Surabaya.

My first time here and totally impressed with the staffs' hospitality and quality of food at the restaurant.

Glad they offer coffee latte when I am finish meals, love them.

but nothing really outstanding when it came to food quality.

All service from front office, housekeeping, and all staff in the restaurant are very friendly and attentive.

The food served in Lime restaurant was also tasty.

The mall next door makes it a good location for an evening stroll and some bite in the food court there.

The hotel restaurant had good value food for dinner.

And right on time at 4 early morning the food was delivered as how they promised.

Towels in the bathroom were given 2 body towels, 2 hand towels and 2 complete face towels.

They provided 2 sets of towels, each set consists  a bath towel, a hand towel, and a washcloth.

While I agree that taking towels from a hotel is unacceptable and disgusting,

Being picky, I noticed some of the tiles in the bathroom weren't properly sealed with some sloppy finishing and the towels looked grey.

There were ants around the room 😞 and the towels have discoloured .

The minus thing is that the towels provided in the room need serious change.

Bedroom was large, our request for large bed was fulfilled enough for 3 over 70kgs persons 😅 too bad there were only two towels (we reserve for three persons) 😅 
Swimming pool was too small to accommodate full booked hotel with families of small children, which also the case with the breakfast area (we were told to wait to be seated for so long (there still many people waiting before us) that we decide to let go our rights to get breakfast and have breakfast in the town).

One remark though: the towel in the bathroom need to be replaced because the color has faded out after so many washes.
