Don't worry if you late for breakfast in the hotel, you can easily go to restaurant and coffee shop to find brunch which is side by side by the hotel.

I stay in Artotel Surabaya for 2 nights for business purpose, i was amazed by the decoration of the lobby and restaurant.

Nice atmosphere in lobby, fill with art item, fell cozy, nice restaurant beside lobby, serve delicious food,  the room very clean with standard amenities, a good pressure of hot water, very clean bed sheets, clean towel, overall very good hotel, many selection for breakfast consider it's a budget hotel.

The lobby art is hip and fun and the staff is friendly and accommodating.

I've been here for 2 or 3 times and I'm so impressed with the decorations in their lobby and even in each rooms.

The ambience of the lobby during evening is superb, the staffs are courteous n friendly, and the check in was very quick.

When I ask this to one of the staff he said that they change all the painting in lobby, reception, resto and staircase in every three months and all are hand painted.

I even enjoy sitting at the lobby because of its art.

The name itself - Artotel has explained the hotel very well,  the lobby design showcases their unique art collections and gallery display.

The noise comes not only from the road traffic

But the weakness is because the hotel nearby intersection between Diponegoro and Dr Soetomo street, i was so noisy because of the traffic and i thought i have wrong position for my room position cz it make me can't sleep all night.

I was stayed on the 3rd floor, the coridor smell bad and noise aswell like some one move the table or smth.

however, the area is quite packed during post-business hours and sometimes, it's quite hard to stop exactly in front of the hotel (it's directly in front of a traffic lamp).

But, somehow thw room is not to soundproof so in the night when i need to rest, i still can hear the sound of door closing or luggage wheel

I choose smoking for the room and the cigarette smell was disturbing in the beginning

There was so much noise from the room next door and the live band outside the hotel.

The pillows were not fluffy enough, the hot water did not work, and the noise from the street were clearly heard even from the fifth floor.

The only downside is that the rooms are not double glazed so all the outside noise from the streets below transmits inside easily.

Wasn't sure where dos the sound comes from .

As I said previously, the sound isolation is very bad.

The TV produces a weird buzz sound every few minutes, and i wish they will put the refrigerator even in the smallest studio size room as it is very important nowadays.

but little bit noisy because of live music downstairs until quite late and in the morning the room smells  food while preparing breakfast, but overall it's good and we love the artistic touch on hotel interior

That said, my experience with the noise was not that bad.

only downside, the staff do not speak english very well and the music in the lobby and on the floors (they start pretty early in the morning) is a bit to loud and annoying

It was also hard to walk around due to the traffic, and there are no allocated passenger walkways.

Going from hotel to anywhere during peak hours was difficult due to the horrendous traffic snarls. 2.

It would be great to not be woken up in the middle of the night due to smoke alarm.

It disturbed my breakfast that I had to look at the buffet every minute to see if there was coming any eatable food out from the kitchen.

But i have to say the room was small and "cold".

The room was small like most hotel in this category, that's why it wasn't comfortable to move around and you will find difficulty put your luggage inside (only small luggage).

The room is quite small, with small table, and without drawer of cupboard for clothes.

We were so shocked when we found out that the room was very small.

I also had the dinner buffet a couple of times and a la carte dinners, all delicious and excellent value.

Super amazing service, complimentary fruits after dinner deliver to our room ( frm ibu Riana), and ibu Riana also make sure d breakfast team remind us try out d favourite menu ( soto ayam, french toast and croffle); and the avocado sandwich/ bruschette is d best i ever tasted 🙌😋

The hotel is quite luxurious, the food was outstanding at breakfast and the lounge was lively and fun with a great band playing and allowing hotel guests to sing as well!

Breakfast menu was many option to eat and taste good.

It was good to experience for once a fully occupied hotel and with a property breakfast buffet.

The breakfast is a great spread and we never had a problem with overcrowding since it was handled very well.

A manager was with them and he was nice, he gave us some cookies (which were delicious).

Breakfast are nice and delicious, and so are the restaurants located at the hotel.

Indonesian delicacies like Jajan Pasar , Nasi Pecel , Bubur Ayam were available every morning besides the western breakfast.

In less than 20 hours turnaround time and a 14 hours time difference between Surabaya and LA, Neny and Echyk were able to get a huge bouquet and a personalized opera cake from the bakery and delivered them tl my mom during her birthday breakfast.

the best thing in this hotel is the breakfast, and they have a room in the breakfast area that can be booked.

In short the hotel facilities are excellent, the room was a bit outdated to our taste and if you are unlucky, there are wedding events that will make the best part of the hotel not accessible.

Excellent pool, gym facilities, sauna, steam room & Jacuzzis on site.

Smiling and of course very helpful for guests who lack knowledge or how to use or take advantage of existing facilities.

Had a wonderful stay with access to the club lounge facility at the 24rh floor.

The gym is well equipped, with the intensive use of the food it makes sense to do some workouts here every day.

I really like this hotel because their hospitality, humble staffs, great facilities, and my favorite part is because I’m a member of this hotel chain, I often get room upgrades.

Hotel facilities were gd, breakfast was awesome and will ask for feedback to see if there is anything which they can improve on.

The swimming pool was nice, maybe because this hotel mostly occupied by business people, I saw that not many people going to the pool.

I've stayed for 2 nights at JW Marriott Surabaya, the location very accessible to almost anywhere since it is in downtown of Surabaya, very near to Tunjungan Plaza, so many tasty local food's stall next and opposite of the hotel.

If you want to go to Tunjungan Plaza, you can use their shuttle bus.

Embong Malang, around 5 - 10 minutes walking distance from Tunjungan Plaza.

This JW Marriott hotel is located in the city center, near Tunjungan Plaza shopping center and opposite Rawon Setan, a famous local delicacies/restaurant.

But I need to walk around 10 minutes to reach the biggest shopping center Tunjungan Plaza.

The hotel is centrally located and within walking distance of the TP Plaza.

Cigarette smoke all around makes it even worse.

I checked the non smoking and smelt of smoke as badly as the smoking.

However, the offerings were minimal (especially in comparison to other JW Marriott properties in Asia) and (as they allow smoking in a section of the lounge), it does reek of cigarette smoke.

The hotel is too popular with tours and meetings etc etc, so it does loose his upscale de luxe characters,lifts full,lobby full,smoking peoples outside from main door dirty,cigarettes

The hotel should do sth with smell because it was quite smoky and I'm sure my room was non-smoking.

I requested for a non-smoking room, unfortunately it was full house and I was given a smoking room.

Our main difficulty there was the smoke from cigarettes and we were as far from those smoking as possible

The room is a little old and has a weird scent inside.

But unfortunately when I walked into the room, there is this some sort of smell which is kinda unpleasant and the AC is very hot.

The sort of smell that one hasn't wash in weeks.

On the day before I checking-out, I found the chicken meat from the soto & porridge stall was smells & the chef was handy to handle the situation to make an appetizing breakfast time.

However, the main complained was the smelly cover for bedsheets, pillow cases and not well vacuumed floor.

We have booked a room 2weeks before check-in and we have write that we want 'Non Smoking Room' (since we really hate the scent). But.

Arrival experience not great, asked to wait 1 hour until a room for available, only given when tried to walk away at this was at 4pm so not asking for early check in..

But as a business person it is not like I have a whole lot of time to sort this out and wait for a manager or schedule a meeting the following day.

It turned out that, despite we ordered only 4 dishes of little dimsum, we had to wait for 50 mins now with no food.

but i had to wait long enough and ask one more time to do it but then another staff came ask us to leave the table because maybe someone is still using the table and then after I argue him for waiting so long suddenly changed his mind and prepare the table for me.

We did understand and decided to wait at the hotel lobby.

I don't think we got the exact room we ordered as they didn't have the room ready when I arrived and I did not want to wait an hour.

I came to the driver, then he said I must wait for another pick up vehicle.

TV channels limited, room service not great, very expensive and be prepared to wait much longer than the 45 minutes they quote you.

But once we arrived at 2.45 pm, only 3 (three) rooms that were ready, and we have to wait at least 1 (one) hour for the other rooms.

though as she was cold to me and my wife and kept my family waiting for quite a while as she readily served the Caucasians.

The breakfast menu, oh my God, is excellent!

The condition of the breakfast is very crowded, even take a place outside the restaurant.

I brought my daughter and she was thrilled when she has ice cream for breakfast.

Staff are friendly and professional specially: FO, restaurant (a friendly woman at breakfast time, she's professional and nicely talked with me), security, housekeeping and technician.

For the breakfast menu, I really like it.

Every detail of the room was cleaned spotless and every feature of the room are in perfect working order (small note on the iron-press; which was not cleaned properly - got my shirt slightly stained due to pre-existing water in the steam container)

however, the highlight of my stay was the extensive spread of the buffet breakfast and the delightful selection they had for dinner.

I am enjoyed while breakfast, full all you can eat buffet, responsible take your meals and finish it dear.

It turned out that without any request we were given a tray containing mangosteen, grapes, nastar and cheese sticks with the words "Eid Mubarak".

We had to ask one (we did twice during our stay and they only gave one wipe every time we asked for it).

She did inform basic things I should know during my stay before I even asked.
