The only issues were that the windows & bathroom are pretty old (they really show their age!

I was unable to use the bathroom mirror as it was mounted on walk too high.

The toilet and shower are in separate compartments.

The furniture was dated, the tiles in the bathroom were chipped and we found hair in the bath tub.

However we give just 3 stars for room service (when we checked in the room was not ready - one of the beds was without bedlinen, towels were not changed during our stay, glasses were not washed, douche gel was over and nobody changed it), WiFi connection (it was very poor connection) and beds (uncomfortable).

The room was smelling old, the bathroom was a bit of disaster I think I would never go back there again.

In the bathroom you could feel some bad odor.

Positive side of dated is very silent sleep - no fridge, central aircon or bathroom ventilation to produce noises.

Towels won't be changed fast, alingside with toilet paper.. Only if you ask for it.

I was really afriad to come in and use a toillet, and the sink.

The room is very old-fashioned, from the communist era, veeery old type of furtniture which has not been modern for ages, windows and balcony door are very difficult to open and close, the bed is old, bathroom and toilet are also ancient.

Our room, the bed, hard as nails, sheets clean, separate bathroom and toilet, (thats a first) Restaurant closed for a private function, so that included the bar, I asked the receptionist for Ice. NO!..

Rooms are ugly and dated, bathroom has seen better times too.

The hotel also offered an evening dinner  buffet style for €11.

It's a perfectly decent hotel to stay in, the staff were very helpful, and breakfast was included in the price.

The breakfast does have a good selection of hot and cold choices.

In relation to the 3 stars, I cannot fathom how the hotel has this rating, as it is extremely dated, so dated in fact, that the corridors reminded me of something out of 'The Shining'.

Windows are difficult to open and there is plenty of street noise, therefore it wasn’t quiet and difficult to sleep.

The hotel should change windows because it was a little windy in the room which is not comfortable during winter time.

The windows are very old and all sounds from street you can hear.

Retro doors, fixed windows, dirty elevators, noisy neighbors, slow receptionist.

I would be cautious about expensive stuff to leave at room, we were on first floor and it would be possible to get inside through open window + classic keys, so i rather kept windows closed when out and dont leave valuables in.

There was a lot of noise from the outside that couldn´t be shut just by shutting the window and a balcony door.

We had half-board with amazing breakfast and culinary dinners with different these each evening.

The buffet table offered plenty of options for meat-eaters.

Staff were polite and helpful - lending us their corkscrew so we can open wine at our rooms; making us breakfast packages to take with us on early morning trips.

The food was still delicious, this year was Swedish style, no more a la carte…but it was good.

Breakfast and dinner including in our rate were absolutely amazing.

The good parts are still there: clean room, awesome sauna, clean water, cozy place, delicious food!

Pros:

We had a HB, both the breakfast and the dinner were delicious.

Breakfast satisfied us and there is nothing to be added.

So rich choice for breakfast, probably one of the best i ever had in hotel.

And we need to say, that the food was delicious and it is probably the biggest highlight of this hotel.

The hotel was located restaurant, where breakfast is also administered.

The main attractions of this hotel are the lovely woodland setting, with plenty for children to do, and the evening meals, which are superbly presented and delicious.

The breakfast was OK. nothing special not much choice and disappearing fast.

The breakfast spread in the morning surprised us a lot with the variety and the quality of food !

Meals were delicious, even in half board, regularly refilled.

3 saunas: Finnish sauna, steam and infra sauna, 2 small pool and whirlpool, Breakfast fresh and normal menu.

A little piece of advice, maybe it’s time to change the names of the massages in the pricing list, because what the Thailand ladies were performing is very different to what Mr. Slovakian is doing.

Just do not pay extra for halfboard as for dinner you can choose only from 5 meals, which do not change, so after a few days you have to eat the same.

When we pointed to that, we were offered the same rate.

Shortcoming I find a restaurant that did not offer any amenities traditional Slovak dishes, the menu was very simple and expensive.

If you plan to hike in the Tatras, you need to get to Stary Smokovec and then take the expensive funicular to Hrebienok where the trains start.

We booked with booking.com spa not included very expensive for what it actually is we did not use it.

On the other hand I wasn´t totally suprised, because we had to pay the entire cost of stay immediately after booking (hotel policy during Easter) in 3 months forward.

but  very expensive, so one must be very careful about that.

though the same can't be said for the wine - too expensive for me to even think about - made do with something 'local' that just about did the job.

The breakfast buffet is extensive and delicious, taken in a gazebo in the attractive garden - where you can also enjoy a cold beer after your walk.

The couple pays excessive attention to interior decorating as well as the gardening and breakfast presentation.

Breakfast was excellent and very fresh and tasty.

Next to the resort there is a wonderful stream to go by in the morning and the amazing breakfast is just a real experience.

Plenty to do in the surrounding area and don’t miss an ice hockey match at the stadium opposite.

We also found that some of the female staff can be very rude with female guests. (Cultural??)

Downside for us was smoking was allowed in bar & billiards room and pillows gave us both neck ache with no option of a different type.

Reception looks like gyms entrance or some sport club,smells of chlorine or something,rooms are purely basic and small not even mentioning the bathroom.

but indeed in such competition Poprad wins.

but more for a youngish, sporty, proper hotel then you will like this.

As we did not bring our swimming gear we did not use any of the ample water sport facilities.

We booked half board and while the breakfast was ok, the dinners were mediocre at best.

The food is plentiful and they accomodate all age groups well.

I can't say enough about the wonderful breakfast with all the imaginable dishes you can ask for like cold cuts,assorted breads and pastries,donuts,cereals,fresh fruits,yogurts,coffee and teas,freshly cooked eggs any style by a chefs right in front to you,pancakes,omelets,sausages,bacon,pates and many other items 
unfamiliar to me.

For a buffet breakfast we usually leave four dollars, two each.

The 3 stars hotels Seasons and Riverside are in the same complex Aquacity provide the nearly same service ( breakfast and dinner are the same ) as Mountain View Hotel.

It is buffet style, available are bread, toast, cheese and cold cuts, tomatoes, cucumber and pepper, yoghurt, orange nectar, eggs (daily varied fried, scrambeld, sometimes boiled), cake, some fruit and cereals, coffee and tea in a thermos jug.

I asked for early breakfasts and I was satisfied for a hundred percent, everything was properly prepared and delicious.

Poprad is a good choice for those who want to visit high Tatras and Slovakian paradise.The pension is clean,good breakfast and very nice staff.Our room was small ,no place to put the suitcases.

The house and rooms offer great comfort, also the breakfast is very recommended.

It is excellently priced and breakfast is offered for an additional 5 euros.

Penzión Plesnivec offers a good standard, it has all you need and the friendly staff is happy to serve the breakfast also outside the official hours.

The breakfast was excellent and very filling.

We opted for breakfast at an extra 5 euros per night and we were glad we did because we didn't spot any where close by we could have had it instead.

but the host was able to cook us dinner at short notice which was delicious.

The bathroom was a little small and lacked toiletries, which would be nice to have.

I would say that the bathrooms could do with a bit of an update, a fridge would be beneficial and as it was in the eaves, we didn't really have a view out of the rooflights

The bath was an old unusable Jacuzzi type.

This is one of the very few places where we never miss to return for the delicious food and warm atmosphere with professional staff that really care.

The next morning we were offered a full breakfast including eggs and bacon and cheese and yogurt and pastries and breads and much more.

The Penzion has a beautiful garden and outdoor space for the restaurant and the food was delicious.

Breakfast was from a menu which had sufficient choice.

but it was delicious, fresh and sufficient.

Having booked on Hotels.com, I got an excellent rate of 60EUR including breakfast.

It was nice to be able to order breakfast instead of the usual buffet.

Special mention must go to Ericca who insisted on having breakfast ready for us at 6am on the day of our departure .

The breakfast is good, with a choice of cooked and continental options.

The lady in the kitchen will cook you some eggs or something else which you can choose from a menu,

It is a wonderfully comfortable, interesting, hospitable place with a great breakfast (included) and a terrific dinner menu at reasonable prices. The Penzion is located along one side of the ancient market place of Spišska Sobota and the glorious St. George's Church (not to be missed!)

Breakfast is in the room price, and don´t expect something special.

Fortunately the issue was resolved and they did produce breakfast.

although there are a few places on the square, including an ice cream shop next door.

Doors are VERY thin and you can hear everything. EVERYTHING.

And sometimes if could be noisy in the morning with the cleaners slamming doors at 7am.

but once you enter through the front door you find your self in a property shouting with character.

Apart from the lack of a lift and difficult stairway, we had concerns about the stone pillars in the middle of the room and the entrance to the bathroom through a low door with a stone lintel - potentially hazardous in the middle of the night, and enough to reduce our rating from Excellent to Very Good.
