The positive: the staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful, the room was very clean and the beds were VERY comfortable.

The 6th floor (the executive floor) smells awful, making it fell like a budget motel.

I travel a great deal both business and leisure and was so incredibly “warmed” by the presence of a scent fragrance to “remove the carbon of smoke or smoke related products to that of yes, “baby powder”…that I had to remark to my family…”what magic and miracle is this?

Other items, no fridge in room, mold, leak in ceiling and generally dirty facility.

My first room smelled like cigarettes and it turned my stomach into a knot.

My room was dirty, smelt like urine and cigarette smoke, called for a blanket never received it.. tons of children in the pool, couldn’t even use it, lobby was taken over by guest celebrating their holiday, lobby was dirty, I felt like I was in the hood:

The strength of shower water is weak and drainage is poor .

The elevators were creaky, slow and dark (light bulbs were burned out).

We had to book a last minute, late night reservation due to the room reservation we initially had for the Holiday Inn Express in Cranbury, NJ being so nasty, smelly, had bugs and disgusting that we couldn’t stay.

Don't make me call the front desk and then I get leftover linens and no comforter.

Finally I called at 3 am to get the voicemail of management.

People who stayed at the room next to me had their phone alarm ringing at 5 am and that woke me up as well.

The telephone had clear encrusted dirt on it.

She gave me email address  conciergeprinc@hyatt.com and said if we don't hear back to call WOH again to get the 20K points.

I made a call to the front desk at 11:20pm to ask when the wedding party would be clearing out, to which I was told that the party would be over at 12 midnight.

but no one was available to take my call.

called front desk 4 times no one answer the phone.

But by then, the large party that had been there all weekend had departed, the parking lot was only 1/4 full, so I packed up all my stuff (groan) and tried to call the front desk.

The seal to the refrigerator is hanging off, phones not working.

but felt worn and in need of a polish: my towels had stains on them, the room was incredibly humid and some of the furniture was very knicked and both the phone and bedside lamps didn’t work properly.

They wouldn’t call the night time manager to verify the story they basically just shrugged off our concerns.

When the restaurant was not answering the phone, the front desk took the order over to the kitchen and our food was delivered to our room within 30 minutes or less.

At that hour, I was not going to call down and ask for someone to come fix it, or make a room change (we had an 8am flight anyway).

Of course, this was five days later and not once did the housekeeping department call.

We’ve gotten several prank calls and none of which made sense.

Manager didn't even have courtesy to call and apologize when reported.

She proceeded to hang up the phone on me after a very rude exchange.

The only downside is the breakfast buffet food is severely overpriced and very tasteless.

but the food…although tasty…was extremely expensive, and there are no other restaurant choices within walking distance 9There is a coffee house near the front desk that has sandwich options. But for someone like myself with food restrictions, this was not a good option.)

We could not find a cheaper price on any other website.

Definitely not worth the money paid for the accommodation.

Shouldn't at the time of billing they should have checked that breakfast has been charged?

however, is isolated, and this means that there is little alternative to the Hyatt Regency Princeton's overpriced food and drinks.

but not much other food offered except for the restaurant that was a little overpriced but plenty of food in the area.

Elevators were scary and old, price of food outrageous and the manager was very rude.

If they want to attract locals from Princeton, they should try better price points.

For the expense, we were disappointed that the pool hours had changed and the room cleaned only every other day.

Hotels are charging 2019 prices for 2020 service and screaming about how hard it is for them.

I was erroneously charged an extra $40 for an accommodation fee, and didn’t realize the fee until I ran my credit card and saw the print out bill.

As is the norm post-Covid, services are reduced to the bare minimum, while maintaining or increasing prices to offset the effects of the pandemic.

Had to rate it 4/5 stars because of the cold pool.

but extremely disappointing for the price.

Beyond that, they were very rude and unapologetic when informing me, stating the new penny-pinching policy was clearly written on their “Welcome Letter” AKA the piece of paper they hand you once you’ve already booked your stay and paid them.

The answer of every question was “you can talk to the manager tomorrow”..very short silly answers with a weird accent I didn’t understand most of it..had to repeat the answers for me each time..was supposed to stay here for 5 nights two rooms..waiting for tomorrow morning to check out and go to a 3 star Marriott which is much cleaner and professional and less cost..

We were given keys to the room and went upstairs, successfully unlocked the door to the room we selected that morning and turned the lights on to find a stranger asleep in one of the beds with bags and towels all over the room.

The only thing I didn’t love is that the bathroom door in our room was a sliding door that locked with a hook latch so the bathroom door didn’t close all the way.

Sliding door on the bathroom was broken and it literally fell off the tracks onto my niece (she’s 16 so it didn’t hurt her)

Rooms were musty and in prepared for guests, heating system was so noisy it kept us up all night, along with the family next door - where we thought they were in our room because the walls were so thin!

Security door by the elevators was never locked.

Also, the side door by the parking lot had no security.

The bathrooms have barn style sliding doors that do not lock which is fairly inconvenient.

In the am, I could smell waffles wafting under the door which woke us up to head out for coffee.

The girl at the desk came to the door about 10 minutes later and handed my wife the sheets saying that she didn't know how to make a bed.

No chair seating to watch TV, no dresser/drawers, small TV and no real
Bathroom door, no kitchenette.

Lastly, the hall closet door doubles as the bathroom door.

There was a new sliding door that was used to close the bathroom OR the closet.

When we got to the room, the door was opened which we thought was odd

In addition, the banging of doors in the hallway was very loud in the room.

An issue happened during one of the days that someone put a do not disturb sign on the door and no maid service was done that day.

Not everyone shouts at the door, and they should wait to see if someone comes to the door after knocking twice for privacy reasons.

There are several doors around the hotel which allow you to EXIT ONLY. .

However the walls were not very sound proof and you can hear loud noises next door.

In addition, I could easily hear people talking in the hallway and the opening/closing of doors.

However my room was above the main entrance so there was some human noise outside in the evening,

Loud highway all you can hear is the trucks on the one side of the hotel so it’s very loud all day all night

You can hear every semi truck passing the hotel.

though there is some traffic noise (not impactful where our room was).

Unfortunately not even ear plugs were able to drown out the interstates noise.

The first room I was assigned was extraordinarily noisy due to being next to the highway.

Noise level high coming from unknown, seemed like a machine of some sort.

The highway is right beside the hotel and traffic noise never abated.

The NJ Turnpike overpass has a "bump" in the road, and the truck bump noise is intermittent - and the TV doesn't quite block it out.

However, our room was closest to the overpass, and we could hear the constant thumpping, as trucks went over the bridge.

but our room backed up to the highway and we could hear traffic noise all night.

The hotel is unfortunately located on a busy stretch of road, so if I had been aware of this I would have asked for a room away from the street, not racing it, because the traffic noise is quite bad.

We kept getting woken up from the highway noise.

Noise- We were expecting a bit a noise from the highway,

However, the hotel is so close to 95 that you hear all the truck traffic all night long.

however a bit noisy from the heavy traffic in the road nearby.

The noise and vibration from traffic at all hours is a challenge to a good night's sleep.

great clean room with some noise from outside.

However, for me, I could have overlooked the run down bathroom, I could have gotten over the filth of the linens

some hallways had smell of sewer on and off.

The bagels and muffins were stale and the fruit was spoiled.

but was immediately turned off by the overwhelming smell of cigarettes or something like it.

As we went to the elevator, the stench of chlorine from the pool is very off putting.

Need a couple  benches out front for the cigar smoker.

The only thing i think i was a little dis-satisfied with was the smell of the pool chemicals.

The room itself had a musty smell, so this is not a place I would want to stay for more than one night,

at check in 1 of them smelled heavily of smoke,

but the smell of the room was terrible, (it smelled like bunch of people consuming too much alcohol slept there) it needed to be aired out, of course the window could not be open.

I am guessing that a guest had smoked in the room at some point in the past as there was a faint residual odor of smoke and deodorizer.

My only complaint was the corridor rug on our corridor floor smelled funny.

The room that we stayed in smelled like something was burning.

My kids ended up sleeping on the floor (disgusting).

The AC unit is old-school with controls on unit itself and noisy beyond belief.

Condition of my room:
- Stains on the carpet
- Room smells like wet carpet
- Mold on the soap holder in the bathroom
- No thermostat (!) - Noisy A/C 
- A/C blows humid smelly air
- Phone was completely broken and the manager did nothing

Staff:
- First manager OK, breakfast guy OK, others beyond "not friendly"
- Fire alarm started chirping and the night manager acted like he was doing me a favor by replacing the battery

Other thoughts:
- Breakfast is nice,

Terrible AC and bugs and they didn’t even offer a discount or money back elevator was broken as well .

Speaking of the 4th floor, the AC in room 401 could use some assistance, sounds like a Boeing 737 when it comes on.

AC was loud, the desk was wobbly, the lights are too bright and that did not offer great opportunity for relaxation.

Only recommendation would be to update the a/c because the room does get warm at night.

Poor Quality Rooms and Run down facility
Very dirty carpets, Sofa sets in rooms have huge stains, TV didn't work, Air conditioning in few rooms is old and kept turning off despite setting it to lowest possible temperature, Clogged sink

The Air Conditioning unit in the room woke us up on many occasions through the night.

My ONLY complaint was the noise generated by the air conditioning unit which was too close to my room.

I had some problem adjusting the heating and cooling system to my desired level,

My hotel room had no heater that worked and the front desk did not want to help me in anyway shape or form did not offer a refund or deduct any money off my total bill and actually told me there’s nothing they could do

The AC unit positioned next to the bed was loud, preventing us from getting a restful night.

Only downside was it was very warm in the room upon arrival and didn't cool down so slept with air conditioning in November.

On the negative sides, the towels are super thin and the air conditioning ridiculously noisy.

The air conditioning unit in our room was extremely loud and kept waking me up every time it turned on.

The HVAC is loud and TV remotes don't always work.

Only complaint is that the AC unit was unplugged so the room was hot.

Very clean rooms, helpful staff, easy and fast check in and checkout.

We were attending a campus reunion at Princeton Theological Seminary… we used Hyatt points for our stay… the room was clean, quiet and comfortable.

Rooms were clean, bed was fine, and the internet worked: all the basics were covered and the price point was appropriate.

Staff super nice and helpful, great COVID compliancy, large clean room, convenient to downtown Princeton,  and they are pet friendly (with plenty of space outside to walk the dog).

The rooms are clean, the beds are super comfortable, and the hotel locations are usually super convenient.
