Tui trips - around the lake on a coach (with poor air con) wasn't for us - too long on the coach

Evening dinner choices are poor, not Italian dishes as expected

A lot of the guests were talking amongst themselves commenting on the poor food choices- apparently it’s gone downhill the last few months.

Food - Do not be put off by poor reviews, the food is very good!!

The bar food selection is very poor as is the quality.

However the main meals for us were very poor.

There were two nights that had music entertainment, which was a guitar player outside on the lawn below the hotel entrance and in front of some seating there - strange as there is loads of room in the two level bar inside where people could get drinks and be comfortable, rather than sweating and getting eaten by bugs outside - not sure how you got drinks unless you went back into the hotel to the bar area or if they serve you outside - either way seems crazy and when we walked back from town the poor guy was trying to entertain about 6 people who had braved the heat and bugs!

Tiny rooms, poor plumbing, facilities not working, bland/basic food, dated and dirty decor.

We discounted due to the poor balcony we had which did not see the sun and the pool was not heated.

I think they appreciated our very poor efforts at Italian!

The only downsides that we had, was the flaky Wi-Fi, poor connections and regular drop-outs.

The WIFI service did not work most of the time, and was very poor when it did.

Restaurant food, we thought at first was poor,

The food in the dining room is really poor and there is a very limited choice for main course.

The rooms are clean and comfortable with very good air conditioning.

The rooms were spotless and the beds were comfortable.

The hotel and room was very clean and well presented while the food choice is limited it was very well cooked and presented if you do not take the evening meal you can request vouchers for food from the pool snack bar.

The rooms are a little on the small side,

Rooms very small, air conditioning is set at 22 degrees and far to hot at night.

Only criticism was my room was a bit dark as it had a balcony at an angle and room a bit small.

Amazing family holiday, please bear in mind this hotel has an official rating of 3 stars, in my opinion it far exceeds this, rooms are on the small side

Katerina - our lovely housekeeper, who kept our room clean and replenished, sheets and towels changed daily.

Large bottle of water provided daily and room kept immaculate by the cleaners.

Our rooms were spotlessly clean and we were left a large complementary water each day.

The room was spotlessly clean and very well appointed and the housekeeping service changed linen daily to ensure it stayed that way.

As always the room was spotless, the food in the restaurant was if possible even better than we remember.

The house keeping staff must be magicians as our room was spotless every single day.

Beautiful hotel with a pool in a great location, rooms are lovely and kept very clean we had a room with a balcony overlooking the lake if you can afford it upgrade to this, waking up every morning to this view is worth it.

Our particular room was a little on the  small size however it had most things needed apart from a iron

but was refused so I was moved to the same room 320 which again was so small and uncomfortable.

The rooms are on the small side for a 4* hotel

but on the basis that we would have to move rooms the next day and would have to wait around the next day in order to move rooms (there was no offer of them to do this for us) – the staff were also very quick to inform us that these rooms were very small and not of the same standard.

but just a word about "views" and balconies: our balcony was very small with just enough room for a small table and two chairs.

The only disappointment was that our side view lake room was very small and had no air con.

I think as regular travelers north and south of the equator we have never had of such a small room.

The room was tiny, we attended the dinner gala which was in very poor taste, and there was horrible karaoke in the background.

I don't know if some of the rooms are small, certainly the room we had, a side lake view was more than large enough.

Apart from the room being quite small, everything else was lovely.

The rooms are awfully small, if I lay on the bed and stretch my arms & legs out I actually touch both walls!!

The balcony in the afternoon with a cold drink was bliss looking out over the lake.

We spent an average of €200 per day for hotel drinks and external meals.

The drinks were very expensive compared to the local restaurants with bottled water €5 for 0.75 litre,

Ordered a omelette for breakfast took 30 minutes to arrive after asking times  last night in bar took about 20 minutes to get a drink the couple sitting next to us walked out after 30 minutes of waiting

The food was poor and the drinks incredibly expensive.

Restaurant meals and hotel drinks are a not cheap if not included in package..

Italy generally is not cheap and Gardone is no different with meals, drinks and travel all adding up - so be prepared -

You are also not allowed any of your owns drinks on the terrace including water .

Only draw back is the price of the drinks.

Only drawback is that the poolside drinks and snack bar very expensive.

The only criticism is that the drinks are extortionately and unnecessarily overpriced.

Our only complaint was that we had to pour our own wine and water constantly throughout the meal, the staff seemed to just walk past our table ignoring our empty glasses and ignoring the fact that we were pouring our drinks, It might seem a trivial complaint,

Very expensive drinks (wine and aperols), suggest visiting the local Spar 10 mins walk towards Salo and stocking up.

My main issue was with the cost of the drinks at the bar.

They wanted to open this in their room for drinks before dinner,

Of course in a hotel of this standing the price of drinks at dinner and in the bar will always be fairly expensive

Drinks were expensive (two small beers 8 euros each, two gin and tonic 12 euros each),

The hotel drinks were expensive which was a shame as we liked to sit in Winnie’s Bar occasionally.

but, as the price of the drinks was quite high, we did not sit there.

however seems standard almost everywhere else and the drinks here are extortionate.

However, as mentioned in other reviews prices of drinks were ridiculously high, and to charge €5 for a soft boiled or poached egg when the chef is stood making omelettes is incomprehensible!

the only thing the drinks were  a little expensive com paired to the bars next to the hotel.

Hotel not very disabled friendly (dispite many old/disabled guests) and the price of drinks was a little high.

The food was great plenty choice for breakfast and dinner, it is an enjoyable experience and never rushed, dress code for dinner is long trousers for men   ladies smart casual same as most hotels, as many people have said drinks are expensive compared to outside the hotel, around 30 euros for a bottle of wine and 5 euros for bottle of water

Lots of people have complained about the prices of the drink- yes it's expensive.

Drink prices as many have said were extortionate so we like most other didn't drink there in the evenings.

If you are on a tight budget it might not be the hotel for you as hotel prices are quite high for drinks and you really need to eat at external restaurants.

but difficult to put a price on the view and ambiance.

though you’ve probably paid your tour company for it).

but still be ready to pay for the premium.

But fortunately there's a little shop about 100m from the hotel that sells beer and wine at regular (uk equivalent) prices.

For the prices  charged, we were disappointed.

I would not go half board as they obviously have a cost control/ chef issue at present.

To make it worse, of an evening leaving the hotel for a walk you then passed many local restaurants with what looked like amazing dishes at a third of the price we had paid to eat half board.

A very poor culinary experience at a high price for half board.

Cooked breakfast is not kept warm and service isn’t what I expect in a 4 star hotel which is the most expensive in the area.

As far as eating in the hotel - that was a tad expensive as was drinking with a beer costing 9 Euros (Ouch).

Poolside food for the price needs improvement eg club sandwich chicken perhaps!

but it was very unacceptable & after that felt like the staff thought we were a nuisance but only wanted the room I had paid for, I definitely won’t be returning to this hotel even the hotel & food is very nice, will return to lake Garda but different hotel, avoid room number 269, nice room but you’re woken up before 5am from the noisy road 🤦🏻‍♀️

Still it retains charm and one expects Hercule Poirot to appear around the corner at any time,
The room are clean and well serviced

The rooms are very clean, you can’t beat the view of the Lake.

The room was immaculate and was cleaned thoroughly every day.

We had a superior lake view room that was clean and comfortable with chairs and a table you could sit at to admire the view..

To start with the positives 
- room excellent , we had a room overlooking Lake Garda , the room was clean ,and quiet and room cleaning was first rate
- reception was very helpful and welcoming 
- the location is first rate  and well positioned for ferry boats 
- Gardone town is small

Rooms were very clean and nicely appointed, if being critical some areas could do with a little tlc

but you get what you pay for especially in terms of food, room cleanliness and service.

Housekeeping is also great, rooms are spotless!

The room was very clean and serviced at least twice a day.

Our rooms were clean and newly decorated and we loved the PJ sculptures that greeted us each day.

The maid service does come in the evening too thou and u get clean towels and they do a quick tidy of the room  and leave chocolates whilst you're at dinner which is a nice touch.

The room was very clean and functional, towels of high quality, robes and slippers and good toiletries.

although we would have liked a larger room it was spotless and tended to e dry day by two delightful ladies.

There was a big gap between bus pick up times to get back to the hotel.

but check timing as there does seem to be a big gap in the middle of the day.

most people that we spoke to said that they thought the running times had a bit of a time gap,

but there are gaps, no service from noon time to 4.30 ish.

The only recommendation we have is for a slightly longer gap between courses.

The rooms were kept very clean throughout our visit, (thank you Nada) and their pool and sun deck facilities at the hotel are fantastic, as was the not too be missed Gala Night, great food and music too.

Excellent hotel, staff were amazing & very helpful, rooms were immaculate and nothing was too much trouble, Breakfast was enjoyable and enough to choose from, Evening meal was amazing, 5 course and plenty of choice, all the staff from reception, restaurant, bar & cleaners were amazing!

Our room was clean and adequate for the 3 of us,  we overlooked the pool.

Our room was kept spotless as was the whole of the hotel.

Room kept spotless by the lovely Antonia.

The room was kept clean with a big wardrobe & plenty of coat hangers, TV with English channels, tea/coffee, fridge & a safe.

Antonella kept our room immaculate and it was good to see her again also.

The cleaning staff also deserve much praise as our rooms were kept spotlessly clean, as indeed was the whole hotel.

Special thanks to Antionetta who kept our room spotless, Sara who served our meals so gracefully and to Matt our Tui rep who was very helpful.

From the lady who, daily, serviced our room and kept it spotlessly clean, to the restaurant staff who served our meals, and most especially Ana-Marie who looked after us in the bar, to Carmen who was our regular server, each person made us feel welcome and each one went out of their way to be helpful.

When we were shown to our room we were absolutely delighted with the spacious and spotless room overlooking the lake it had a balcony with two chairs and a table which was nice to sit out and chill.

Our room was quite small and overlooked the bottle store, there was a very small balcony, a small shower and a small TV.

The hotel is in a good position opposite the beach and 5 minutes walk from the centre.We had a spacious room that was spotlessly clean.

Rooms are very clean and as we had a junior suite this also had great views of the lake.

The hotel and room were immaculately cleaned.

The rooms are immaculate, cleaned thoroughly, the aircon is quiet and the rooms are well insulated from external noise.

The rooms was immaculate, the staff couldn’t do enough for us, they even arranged flowers and Prosecco for our anniversary and a card and chocolates for our daughter’s birthday.

Our room was clean and spacious, equipped with air-conditioning and large screen TV offering BBC1, BBC2 and ITV channels, tea & coffee making facilities and a small safe.

The hotel is in great condition and our room was spotlessly clean.

Each day we returned to a spotlessly clean and tidy room.

Pool is too small for the size of the hotel and kids intrude.

The pool itself is very small  -  so small in fact that it would seem like an intrusion to go into the pool if a couple were already using it.

although ..  if you were travelling with a gang of young children and a  congregation of inflatable alligators this is not the place for you .. the pool is small and atmosphere subdued.

Pool is too small and if the hotel is full you are jostling for space and there is not enough beds.

though - the small pool and seating area are "booked" by towels very early in the day.

The hotel is ok - breakfast is a fairly standard affair, the pool area is quite small and the pool itself was unheated when I was there (June) which wasn't great.
