although the outside of the hotel does look slightly dated.

We chose this hotel because it is not too far away from relatives' house which we were visiting for the festive period.

The rooms seem a tad dated and are seriously short of electrical outlets.

The room is quite clean and fit our need for a bed for the nights we were in town.

The rooms are clean, the plumbing works .

The staff is very friendly, the breakfast is ot good, the rooms are clean, the air conditioning is noisy and not adjustable.

but too far from Songkla itself, reception is a lovely area and we loved the turtle there, our rooms very great, comfortable beds, hot water, quiet.

The good thing about this hotel is that it has a free wifi cover all areas including your rooms and public areas.

Although Rajamangala's website claims that all 34 rooms have "a private balcony facing a stunning seascape of Chalatat beach," this is not true.

However, this hotel was okay for 1 night as it is located in a very good position, near the beach and near the interesting places in Songkhla.

Nice hotel reasonably price with nice ground very good location on the beach.

Close to beach and beachfront bars and restaurants, so if you don't fancy hotel food, there are some walking distance places you can go to.

Breakfast was thin and unappealing, with flies covering the fruit.

but satisfying; I was literally the only one eating breakfast in the buffet room !!

Poll very dangerous and two of our children cut their feet very badly on broken tiles, breakfast was very very poor.

Breakfast only: OK had some selection and could choose from coffee with milk or plain coffee, in other words the restaurant facility is also older and in such a business with good profit (i would think) a make over would be a good investment.

Breakfast selection was rather slim and dissapointing.

The breakfast buffet is pretty basic and has small selection of food.

but had no pool as yous know kids want swimming pools on holiday.

The swimming pool was also dirty and full of cracked tiles.

at the time of our stay, the pool was under repair.

the hotel and restaurant has close down since a couple of months, do not know when it will reopen;

When other restaurants cook Thai food, it was amazing

There are many local restaurants nearby and you will see a lot of local people come to picnic.

Buffet in restraunt was typical Thai food and was just ok.

The service was good since they cleaned up your room whenever you want.

the manger told us the man on the desk was meant to give us a form to sign to say we where warned about broken tiles we never got this form to fill out.

There were several small cockroaches in the bathroom, enjoying the moisture I presumed.

Hotel corridors we flooding with mosquitoes, and if you keep your room door open for a little bit, you sure won't be sleeping well.

I have attached a few photos of the dirt in the bathroom as well as the cockroach I killed in my room (there were others that scurried away from me)
3) Most gym equipment broken.

but the grout and shower curtain are in such need of replacement it looks horrible.

The rooms are dark and dingy and the in house TV sets are of the Flintstone variety, the bathrooms are Victorian and the lifts are from the same period in history.

Only 2 towels & both of them are bath towels, no hand/face towels.

Some of the taps in the bathroom was not working.

My room was furnished with shabby furniture and the bath had 3 cockroaches in it when I first walked in.

though they would need some renovation (especially the bathrooms - beware of blood stains. ).

The wallpaper was stripped on parts of the walls, tiles chipped and missing in the bathroom and there wasn't any coffee/tea/jug facilities in the room at all.

but at the same time was very old and worn out..

Elec supply out-dated & sockets hanging off the walls.

The carpet and the wallpapers are showing signs of peeling.

Near the stores and restaurants.

Save your savory glands by walk to the morning market opposite hotel to grab some local food to eat!

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, there is an evening market about 300-400 metres from the hotel – plenty of stuff being sold from food, fruits, clothes, souvenirs etc and it is cheap.

Only good is a seven 11 near and a street with good restaurants in the location.

Then surprise, surprise, the room service menu and service is excellent, its almost as if it comes from a different hotel.

I got better room than my friend, minus only on slippery floor and holey bedsheet.. my friend got all that + quite damp room..

Steer well clear of the food here if at all possible.

Rooms were immaculate, reception staff were very pleasant and the food was good.

So the lobby and the restaurant area were really stuffy with stale air.

The food isnt to bad and they have a decent enough selection.

The upside is that this hotel is in a central location close to the bars and restaurants.

Some local eateries around the hotel as well.

The breakfast buffet is great (continental and thai food) as well as the restaurant that serves typical thai food at very low prices (consider a complete substantial dinner for less than $5).

The room itself was ancient and long overdue for a revamp, and had a very stale 'not often used' smell to it.

Complained twice and asked them to get me to another room.

We all experienced the same issues in our rooms:
1) No towels.

The room constantly smelt of old stale smoke that was buried deep in the furniture.

Reception and checking in and out is entertaining if you have the time to enjoy a few hours of staff interaction, why after so many years they still do not employ English speaking front desk personnel is anyone's guess, oh and the receptionist on duty also answers the telephone and handles all outgoing calls from the rooms as well.

Now the main part, ROOMS: Disgusting, ripped, permanently stained, and often smell.

There's no wifi in room contrary to what is stated in the booking website!

I had to open the window to allow fresh air to come into the room.

but the porters are very helpful in sorting things out for you and advice on were to go and how to get there (for a tip)

The hotel itself is aging a little and its starting to show and the rooms could do with a deep cleaning and a bit of refurbishment as there is stains on most of the carpets in the rooms ect ect ect.

The rooms seem pretty dark and there are lots of stains on the carpet.

We booked a Superior Room and were given a musty un vaccuumed and not properly cleaned room at the end of a dark musty smelling passage.

This hotel is nothing like the pictures if it is there is only one room like it!!!!

It leaves a stinky smell at the tip of your nose though the room is quite clean overall

The shower curtain, which I presume was once cream coloured, had large stains throughout it.

On this occasion I had food stains on my bed.

The extra pillows are without cover sheet and have blood like stain!

The rooms – plenty of stains on carpets and in the toilet.

There is no proper A/C, my room smelt like an oinion farm and the wall had lets just say a very questionable stain on it and it was right next to the bed. .

It's about 15 min walk to Chalathat beach and about 25 mins by walk to Samila beach.

10 minutes walk to the beach on the left side and the right side is the old town.

Beach also nearby, 20 minutes walking distance.

But it’s close to street food market where I found Halal food aplenty.

Central & close to the street food market.

If you  are there on a Sunday don't miss morning market which is 5 minutes from the hotel, turn right out of hotel and then right again on first major street.

Room clean and adequate with a balcony with good wifi.

Located in a busy street with many restaurants and local street food.

the hotel is in the centre of songkhla with lots of convenient stores and street food right in front.
