She was a blessing to us with her helpful spirit, friendly smile, wealth of knowledge of the city as we were from out of town, and her love for people.

Check in was good by a friendly staff member supposedly got an upgraded room consisting of a view of a marina in the street below.

I would like to share my experience with Maria Andersen..she was absolutely amazing..very friendly and helpful.

Housekeeping, catering, restaurant and bar staff so very attentive and friendly, received a snack from Chris.

She was very friendly and asked what occasion we were celebrating.

In the end, we actually ended up really enjoying the service, and the young men retrieving cars were friendly and courteous.

Front desk reception was exceptionally good, with special thanks to Kayle and Chris who were both extremely friendly, accommodating and efficient.

The rooftop also has the BEST view of Sarasota Bay and the marina in the city.

There is so much within walking distance like the Marina, shops and restaurants.

The room was gorgeous and we had a great view of Marina jacks.

In room is a refrigerator, ironing board and iron, desk area, many rooms with balconies to enjoy a lovely evening watching the city or marina sipping wine, well stocked showers and robes for use.

The room is absolutely beautiful very clean and amazing view , you can sit on the balcony overlooking the beautiful Marina, we watch the sunset with a glass of champagne, the rooftop is beautiful and very great food .

We love the Sarasota downtown area and enjoyed seeing the beautiful Marina view from our balcony.

Such a beautiful hotel that over looks the marina, has a great roof top bar and amazing food.

My husband and I particularly chose to stay at the Westin, Sarasota to enjoy Marina Jack's, for a terrific dinner cruise!

We were put in a corner room touting beautiful views of the marina AND the city and were especially surprised to receive some special in room treats for our son and a Champaign toast for mom and dad.

She was able to upgrade us to a beautiful room with a balcony overlooking the marina.

The hotel is very well located (across the street from the beautiful Sarasota Marina) and is, itself, run like a tight ship.

The marina was within walking distance and allowed our group to enjoy a boat ride and other sports close by.

Maria Andersen went above and beyond to make sure our room was ready and we had a beautiful view to the marina.

The location is downtown across from the marina and you can easily walk to a couple of waterfront breakfast, lunch and dinner restaurants- very nice perk.

We were easily able to walk over to the marina on a few evenings and along the promenade.

It is  conveniently located walking distance to the Marina and Main St Sarasota.

Valet parking only ($40/day) due to limited space.

I normally avoid hotels that charge for parking

There's no self Park you pay $40 for a valet parking each night.

The only down side is the limited parking turn around for oversized vehicles, fortunately I was in my car and not my truck so it wasn't an issue for me

Only thing is they don’t have self parking so you do have to pay for parking every night through valet

but the surprise costs of $22 per day plus tax, and $31 per day parking plus tax per day.

My only complain is that the hotel is Valet parking only, no self park.

Also we found out after arriving that the hotel does not have any self-parking

It was not advertised parking was $30 a night and tax.

They did charge an expensive daily parking fee AND a required $15 fee to use the shuttle, which I thought should have been an optional charge, depending on your specific needs.

My only negative is the parking situation, which is they only do valet parking (which is $30 per night) which can be inconvenient.

This hotel really needs to fixed their parking issues.

The only reason for not giving 5 stars is the $30 a day parking fee and other resort, destination fees

Parking non existent except for valet service which these young folks hustle all day and night.

Downtown Sarasota, while busy during the Christmas holidays, is by no means a crowded metropolis with coveted parking spaces that justify Westin's $30 daily rate.

It wasn’t until I pulled up to the valet parking attendants that I saw a sign that said The Westin.

I would not recommend the breakfast - way over priced for a little food.

but I will no longer be recommending this place sadly, way over priced and in a mess.

The mandatory valet is a bit pricey at $40 a day and it’s a bit frustrating to be handed a valet ticket with the old price ($25) whited out and $40 hand written.

but frankly no view which we had paid for ..

The valet service is friendly as well (a bit overpriced,

but the furniture is outdated and extremely abused, for the price of the night no quality of the hotel it should be replaced.

The valet issue cost me a lot of time and left a bad taste in my mouth and the rooms definitely need a refresh.

but $22 per day "resort fees"and tips make it rather expensive.

Dirty balcony, we complained, they agreed to refund me $50 on the room rate, and hour later the ‘mamanger’ rang back and told me she was going to refund me $30 not $50.

There was also resort fees of $22 plus tax.

You'll pay $22 a day for a shuttle or bikes you may or may not use and two bottles of water a day, if you can get them.

but because of the unexpected extra fees and the terrible parking situation I will probably stay elsewhere the next time I visit the Sarasota area.

We came by the Westin in Sarasota for a drink at the roof top bar.

The breakfast has been exceptional, the room is comfortable and clean, they have a great rooftop bar with pool and firepits and the lobby bar has been fun too.

The whole property has amazing views and the seller for me was the rooftop bar.

The restaurant on the property was delicious and the roof top bar by the pool was such a perk  with the most amazing view.

In addition, the hotel has a roof top bar and roof top swimming pool… extraordinary views and again staffed professionally…

I was particularly charmed by its rooftop bar's breathtaking views; fitness centers provided top-of-the-line equipment; and pool areas were the ideal places to unwind after an exhausting day.

It’s not just about the surroundings or the rooftop bar with its breathtaking views; it’s also about people like Chris who perfectly embody the spirit of The Westin.

We wanted to try the Westin because we had visited the rooftop bar on previous visits.

Beautiful rooms, lush bedding, and the rooftop bar and pool was just the icing on the experience.

The rooftop bar offered breathtaking panoramic views and a delightful atmosphere, perfect for unwinding after a long day of exploring.

The rooftop bar and pool are extremely enjoyable with amazing sunsets!

The rooftop bar was great and we were able to experience a fun night.

Great location and the roof top bar and pool are worth the stay on their own!

We had a fabulous private room for breakfast, which was delicious - great job from the Chefs and waiting team, then a relaxing day at the rooftop pool bar, which is run expertly by a fabulous chap called Anthony.

Rooftop pool and bar were fantastic, especially the view!

The rooftop pool and bar have amazing views and tasty food.

The rooftop pool and restaurant are great even on a very hot afternoon.

We also spent two separate afternoons at the rooftop pool, and enjoyed snacks or light lunch and drinks poolside as well.

The hotel has a wonderful spa, a fitness studio with great equipment, a beautiful rooftop pool and bar area that serves lunch and dinner, an inhouse restaurant (evoq) with staff that listens to the needs of customers with food allergies and accommodated us to ensure that we had an enjoyable experience.

The rooftop pool and bar on the 19th floor has a great view to relax with a drink and a bit to eat and watch the sunset.

We were also especially impressed with Joshua Sanchez at the rooftop pool.

The cleaning staff was also extremely satisfactory, and the rooftop pool was wonderful.

The rooftop pool and bar are amazing and the drinks are well made.

The rooftop pool gives an amazing view of the area and the staff is exceptional.

The Hotel itself, is beautiful and the spectacular rooftop pool, bar, and views are incomparable.

We spent the afternoon at their lovely spa and rooftop pool where Michelle took great care of us.

Valeria at the front desk was very helpful and accommodating during this stay.

SO grateful to the staff, especially Valeria, Maria and Ileana who took care to make sure we had everything we needed and assisted all of our guests down to the details!

but Maria at the front desk worked with me and a traveling buddy to accommodate our needs with another room at a more reasonable price.

But what made it great - Chris from front desk.

Marcia at the front desk greeted us and called me by name our entire stay, she made us feel welcomed to say the least.

So nice to see employees that love their jobs and do their very best.

Every employee of the hotel that we met were very professional and made us feel right at home.

Marcia and Matt have been so wonderful and accommodating at the front desk when we check in, they go above and beyond making us feel welcome while we are away from home.

She is the consummate professional and always goes out of her way to help in any way she can - ALWAYS with a smile.

Kayle Brown , the Westin Hotel Front Desk associate, was so kind and thoughtful in the way she handled my check-in that my 4-day stay got off to a fantastic start.

The beds are amazing here, amenities are wonderful, so close to all different restaurants when you want to venture out, the staff is the shining star here at this property tho, I've been coming here each quarter for the past year and Maria and her co-workers are absolutely the best!

We came and went many times throughout our stay and the entire valet staff were always really great!

Kayle at the front desk took care of any of our requests and made sure we were happy with our stay.

Despite shortcomings with the room and other snafus with amenities, the staff was always professional and went above and beyond to try to make things right if they could.

Service has been excellent at the pool including Starr who took care of us at the pool.

Truly the best service… If you own this company, please take note of this message and take care of all of these guys.

but before the rest of our group even arrived, JUSTIN had us taken care of.

He took great care of us, repositioning our umbrellas as the day went on.

The resort was a wonderful time and we were taken care of at each step!

Our chair and umbrellas needs were easily taken care of by the fabulous Olivia!

Room was spotless ley serviced each day and Justin at the beachfront took amazing care of us.

He made us feel welcomed and taken care of.

While at the pool, Kelly took great care of me and made sure I was 100% comfortable.

She takes care of her guests, is friendly and takes the time to get to  know you.

Alex & Paula are absolute dolls, They take care of us while we’re relaxing by the pool & the beach.

Kelly always takes great care of me and my family, finding chairs, positioning umbrellas, getting towels, etc.

On the beach you need to reserve beds and I want to especially mention the lovely Tiffany who took care of us for the 3 days we were thete.

Any request we might have is met with care!

And we really enjoyed Abbie who took care of us at the pool with our towels.

She is a gem, hope lbck takes good care of her.

A huge  shout out to our friends at the pool…Kelly took care of us every day and made sure our chairs were ready and waiting for us; our servers Paula and Ania  could not have been more attentive and friendly.

Austin was very helpful on getting us set up on the beach and making sure we were comfortable and taken care of throughout the day!

Lovely lovely TJ at the pool took wonderful care of us.

Finally, the entire time we were there, there was construction going on, which sounded like an alarm going off all the time.

Think construction bulldozers and beeping all day long AND all night long.

The restaurant was closed down and the Pool was noisy due to construction .

Many of the advertised amenities are not available and construction noise was everywhere - yet the hotel still feels justified in charging a premium rate despite all of this.

There was some noise from the construction.

There is still construction by the pool and it can be heard throughout the day.

First the lobby and front desk area are under construction.

but i would wait until later in the year or whenever construction has been completed.

- Resort restaurant and reception still under construction and with the lack of labour on site when we were there (Feb 2020) will not be completed for another 6-12 months.

Can’t way for the construction to be done and the wind to stop.

Because they are under construction they have port a potties near the pool.

While they say the construction will be completed in March, we think July or so is more likely.

Until our last day, the construction was  a non-issue.

We exited our room to avoid bulldozers and other construction vehicles.

but the construction is totally out of their control.

The main resort lobby was also under construction, which meant that there wasn't really any place to just sit and relax with a newspaper, or with a beverage.

It was inconvenient stepping over construction material and having to wait for the one elevator while it was being used by construction staff.

Will be even better once construction is finished.

When all construction is finished it will probably get a 6th star!

Captive audience and no credit cards so tough to treat my Husband for his Birthday unless we went off property.

but given what they charge to stay there, there need to be more staff, particularly to set up chairs and umbrellas.

though their website, and then a glitch happened and it double charged me.

but
        the available papers in lobby were at charge, not complimentary.

Parking under the building was included at no additional charge.

They charge $25.00 for the umbrella use and I thought why we pay for the resort fee???

My only cautions for UK travellers would be mindful of the £48 per night guest charges , it adds on the the holiday.

The front desk clerk who told me I'd be charged for a hair dryer when I called to say my room didn't have one - not even subtly implying I must have stolen the one that was there.

I called to cancel my hotel late and the manager said I could have a credit for the next six months, called 2 weeks later to make a reservation using the credit and they said no sorry you only had 3 days to use your credit.

I do think its silly and unnecessary that they charge an umbrella fee

We were charged a Daily $24 Resort Fee; and $25/day for the use of an umbrella (chase loungers are free).

but wait-  that only incudes beach chairs-  so everything is fine if you can lay in the sun for hours-  should you need a couple of umbrellas -  ah - those are $25 dollars each. Talking to certain folks in charge - the owners do it because they can-  the place was 98% full-    too- there was no reduction in rate despite the fact that the room was cleaned only once during  our stay " because of Covid"

I asked for credit because 3 or our 5 days we could not use an umbrella.

There are also never enough chairs at the beach or the pool and to add insult to injury, once you do snag some chairs they charge $25  for an umbrella.

- breakfast in the golf club is severely restricted if you are vegetarian
- charging for umbrellas on the beach is unacceptable given the price of the rooms

The owners have to decide- is this a golf club with a resort attached or is this a luxury resort in its own right.

I said I am staying at the hotel and they said there is a charge.At more than $600 a day they are charging for an umbrella?

but then they charge an additional $20.00 for an umbrella on the beach.

From the long welcoming drive into The Resort, the friendly and delightful faces of the bellhops, to the warm and inviting faces of the folks working registration, and ALL the Amazing staff!

All the staff are extra friendly and helpful including the drivers of the free shuttles available to get you around the estate.

The hotel staff and location are both excellent, everyone was friendly and welcoming.

That friendly welcome continued throughout our stay.

The staff were all professional and friendly and very helpful.

Starr at the pool was especially friendly and went out of her way to be helpful!

Staff are always friendly and provide great customer service.

but there is an obvious difference here because every single employee that we had interactions with were welcoming, friendly, helpful, and just seemed happy to be there!

Everyone was as friendly as ever and this has never changed in all the years we have visited.

They make the pool deck and beach the most friendly and comfortable space.

Can a front desk manager ruin a 5 day stay at a beautiful resort with an otherwise friendly, always accommodating and professional staff?

Gated, gorgeous beach setting, turquoise water, better than average suites with washers/dryers, kitchens, glass showers, blue decor accents tropical landscaping, friendly staff, and more.

Friendly and totally wanting to make this stay perfect.

A shout out to Sully the pool attendant, who is always so proactive, friendly, and helpful.

He was so friendly, warm, and such a joy to interact with.

The tennis courts are just beautiful and the staff at the tennis club are so friendly and professional.

Good eating and drinking options, including a lovely bar/lunch spot at the golf club overlooking the course.

I appreciated the bracelet room keys and the upgrade to a waterfront room from a golf course view.

My husband played on the spectacular golf course…I enjoyed all the views from the golf cart!

First class amenities and staff, beautiful well-maintained golf courses, and a country club with a world class beach.

with golf courses, tennis courts, and gardens.

The nearby Whiskey Tavern located at the Golf course is another sure thing, with prime cut steaks and creative apps.

The resort has multiple restaurants, a golf course, a substantial health facility and a great beach.
