Room was clean and spacious, also we loved the opportunity to sit outside for breakfast or a drink.

The kitchen and bathroom were very small and hard to use.

The only drawback turned out to be that we only had a single small mirror in the room and above the sink without a top where to put the comb and hooks so that they would not fall into the sink was a feat .

We should have picked a bigger room because the bathroom was too small especially the vanity because I couldn’t put all my toiletries in the bathroom.

My only complaint was our bathroom was very small.

There is only one tiny mirror over the sink in the bathroom.

Only thing I would say is the bathroom was very small and could be difficult for larger people than myself.

My only issues were that the bathroom was very small, there was a very bright blue light from the wifi that we could not cover, I did not care for the bed (very firm and lumpy) and there was a smell in the room (seemed to be from cleaning products) that did not leave until we went to get some air fresheners.

The con of this hotel was the "small bathroom" and we found a roach and small insects in the bathroom.

While the bathroom was small, you’re not expecting the Ritz Carlton.

The water for the shower at the beach had the worst sulfur smell I have ever smelt.

Pools were most disappointing part of stay, absolutely disgusting and not cleaned daily so we didn't use.

Dead shellfish weren’t cleaned up, so the smell was pervasive.

but the worst thing is having to smell a very strong marijuana odor every morning and night which permiated the unit I was in when I did address this I felt the employees attitude was oh well deal with it.

but the strong mildew smell was less than ideal and definitely should be addressed.

The pullout couch was icky and VERY uncomfortable.

2) Due to the tile floors (necessary for the sandy environment), small bedside mats would be nice for wiping sandy residue from feet before getting into bed.

It was a bit misleading. My husband and I were looking forward to enjoying that area alone, especially since the beach smelled bad due to the red-tide(not the resorts fault at all!)

We were told we could go to an area near our beach access and set up, well that area wasn’t clean, smelled of dead fish, rocky and small.

This visit was different though, the resort used to provide complimentary chairs for the beach if you wanted to use them instead of renting and they would let you sit in a certain spot on the beach between the rentals(not the public beach section that isn't cleaned and smelled).

although I noticed that they used very strong chemicals and our room had to be aired out for hours when we first arrived.

The shower door had some mold and the shower didn't feel as clean.

Room did smell musty and it seemed like the AC didn't really cool the room to the temp we desired.

Stay away from the hot tub, so many chemicals our skin/hair was messed up almost a week later.

Booked 1 month ago and when we got there they had booked our rooms to others, room smelled bad and tiny bugs all over.

Carpet was nasty, manager would not return my call.

Many people now a days do not like the smoke!

Instead we got a view of the parking lot and apparently everybody would come and stand outside our room to smoke cigarettes so it filled our room with smoke.

To make matters worse they blew debris and sand all over my newly detailed car.

The air con would turn off and was noisy.

The room was clean, AC was loud, there were cracked bathroom tiles, found a long dark hair on a towel.

One problem, the AC fan blew on the farthest bed, a common situation in hotels.

However, we are not fans of common use serving spoons and tongs.

my only issue was that the air conditioner did not work in the fitness center.

The bathroom exhaust fan was non existant or broken.

My only complaint with the room was the loudness of the air conditioner.

There were school sports teams there and the hotel was at capacity so the water heater did not restore to a warm temp for us to shower.

- while the thermostat really responds, don’t be afraid to lower it during night as it gets warm only to raise it as you get-up.

When I got to my new room Juan had set the heat to the specific temperature I had mentioned when he tried to fix the heater in my first room.

The bathroom floor was sticky and the air conditioning unit was clunky.

Only disappointment was that the AC motion sensor turned the room temp up while we were gone and the room was damp and warm upon our return.

There was no fan for ventilation in the bathroom and you could see where they'd painted over mold stains on the ceiling of the tub.

I am happy that they are finally installing additional washing machines as one is just not enough, especially during soccer tournaments.

He told me the government made them install the Inncom thermostats.

There was a cockroach in our room and the a/c has broken.

This hotel had some issues with their A.C. Units.

Because the rooms are not cleaned often the carpets need to be replaced.

In addition to the booking fail, the carpet in the rooms were also very filthy.

They have removed the draperies and replaced them with pull down shades, carpet is poor quality.

The shower rod fell in 122 pretty much right when we got there,

The bathroom ceiling looked like it was going to cave in at any moment, and the bathtub was absolutely disgusting!!

Our shower had standing water that wouldn’t drain.

We have been going to us for 30 years this is the worst hotel we’ve ever stayed in dirty old carpet and curtains toilet didn’t flush very well dirty chipped bath rusty mirror smelt damp it looks nothing like the photos there was also dog tiny dog biscuits on the floor which obviously hadn’t been vacuumed in my opinion it wanted knocking down 20 years ago managed it for 1 night was going to stay for 7

As much water that came out of the shower head also went down the drain from the tub spout.

The only room with a distant sea view if you looked hard had a leak in the shower so I declined .

Broken bathroom shower knobs, cheaply patched tile cover up, rotten soiled carpet, musty mold odor, telephone inoperable, tv inoperable, and exterior walkway falling apart.

Our shower was terrible, the shower head barely worked and the hot water would come on full blast at random times while showering so don't stand directly under the water.

Shower head made for someone under 5’ and trash cans useless.

We loved the old motel 1950s charm of the place and the fact that the sliding door was a bit hard to move and the shower drain needed to be unstopped was relatively insignificant issues.

but that doesn't translate to it being unhygienic, it would of course be a welcomed change if they did update the bathrooms and rooms, but it's completely liveable as it is.

This is especially apparent when you close the bathroom door and have to look at the dirt and grime.

If this is the best room it fell well below, with rusty fixtures, rotting curtains, rusting bath fittings, 

Avoid the elevator, and be aware of cockroaches and large ants in the room.

The bath had been painted and was chipping, the fittings were either rusty or tarnished, everything was tired and a makeover is well overdue, hard to say when it was last painted.

A handle broke in my shower right before using it, and maintenance was there in no time.

At $200 a night i not only expect a hot shower

Tub was gross, shower curtain was nasty, chipped paint coming off the walls, mold in the tiles in the shower, an inch crack in the doorway, so any creature could walk right inside..Spoke with the female manager, she asked "who" I booked through, and said she couldn't help me because I didn't book directly through the Hotel.

The controversial thing that I see on most reviews regarding this hotel is it being outdated.

The place is very dated and in need of many repairs , such as air conditioning for many rooms not working, shower drains, and furniture is falling apart.

Apparently, old Florida charm means bedbugs!

One exterior door would not open with our room key.

This is an older, maybe a bit worn resort type stay.

There is also missing carpet and visible signs of exterior disrepair.

The rooms are very dated and are in desperate need of updating.

Lights are old fashioned so bring a charging block .

It was outdated, in need of major upgrades (furniture was outdated, wallpaper was peeling off walls, paint was chipping in doors and woodwork, closet doors were missing, bath tub was uncaulked and chipping and carpet was dirty.

I heard they were discussing tearing down the old architecture, which would be a sin because there are no other places like this.

They're certainly dated and a little dark,

The bath mat is a memory foam rug that was damp.

The room we had was outdated (60s or later) dusty, and poorly kept.

The Sandcastle Resort at Lido Beach is in very poor physical condition.

Now it needs a lot of updating:

They should be ashamed of themselves for the price they charged and the condition of this hotel

The hotel is dated, with smelly water, rusted tubs, sinks that  do not drain and zero updates since we were here 16 years ago.

We were so disappointed with the room and overall condition of this hotel, on check-in we asked to upgrade and were informed we had been allocated the best room.

This is hotel was built in the 1950's and could use a few updates.

The building was in desperate need of updating.

but most of the exterior elsewhere is in dire need of paint and updating.

but when it is either renovated or replaced it will cost as much for one night as we spent for 3 comfortable nights.

It's older than I am and I'm 63, with only facelifts and renovations of the forementioned areas.

The food and service was good, the room was clean and we had direct beach access by just opening our front door.

This Hotel is a disaster, rooms are out of date, dirty, smelly folders, mood on the walls and dirty air filter.

They need to burn the Sandcastle to the ground.

Make sure there isn’t bird poop on lounge chairs.

So I assume they are ok with the nasty rooms as long as they charge less than the other hotels in the area.

This was over powerd by the constant smell of scunk being smoked on the balconies by other guests.

My son (sensitive to dust and mold) was sneezing and coughing anytime he was in the room longer than 30m.
