The breakfast is amazing… Good for one night, or two.

Beds are ok. Breakfast is Chinese tourist class and best to go down after 8 am.

They will charge you for it. Breakfast is included and will be in the restaurant next door: Chinese breakfast (but also toasts and cooked eggs available)

The breakfast consists of tasteless Chinese food, the AC doesn’t work properly and the staff aren’t polite.

Breakfast spread is good, considering this is quite a remote part of Tibet.

Very pleasant and helpful staff, excellent rooms (with creative and lovely decor), decent breakfast.

I would give this three stars, except this was the one place we stayed in Tibet (13 day tour) which had excellent mattresses! !

After getting fresh, rush to the second floor dinning area for buffet dinner.

though the bathroom was very dated), restaurant on top floor we managed to order food via GoogleTranslate (as we don't speak Mandarin), breakfast was OK, in a big room like a banquet hall.

Comfortable bed ( we slept well) and colorful, cozy rooms with little seating area for two.

Strange smell in bathroom which was unpleasant.

I'm only bugbear is the smokers everywhere in the hotel, and they obviously don't care about indoor smoking.

It was warm in January, hot water was available 24 hrs and I got a non-smoking room that didn't have any bad smells.

So the stench of smoke while you sleep was uncomfortable.

Only negative is hallways -- ripped up dirty rugs, very smelly.

In the first room the shower drain emptied up out of the drain into the bathroom; in the second, the shower sides emptied into the bathroom so in both cases the bathroom was wet.

Smoking is allowed in the hallway so the corridors smell of smoke .

Many smell of cigarettes since smoking is allowed in a Tibetan rooms.

I did not like the green rubber bath mates on the bathroom floor which smell bad.

While showering halfway, the water suddenly turned scalding hot which made it pretty much impossible to bathe without getting first degree burns.

be careful if you sleep opposite the air conditioning and blowing hot air, it dried up my nose and i had problem breathing in the middle of the night.

but it smelt awful so I didn't stay, friends said the chips were good but the rest wasn't great.

Without a goose neck, sewer smells will come up.

The public spaces isn't filled with cigarette smoke.

There is not much in this town, except for a place to stop and rest.

Not many restaurants nearby hence you might need to go to the town area or walk down to the right from the entrance about 700m and look for food.

Is a little out of town so can be more difficult to get around.

Do note that the hotel is not located in the town centre.

If you would like to explore Shigatse by foot, the hotel is not located near the town's attractions

Don't they know - professionals use duct tape:-) Anyway, the spray was minimal and only mildly annoying.

but the breakfast room was dark and suffocating and not at all pleasant and  the breakfast was poor.

The room had an en-suite bathroom with hot water and a heating unit on the wall which is vital as it gets very cold at night in Tibet.

The second night the A/C didn't work and it was pretty miserable!

The corridors are very dark and in the morning the lighting is set off by motion sensors

After complaining to the front desk, miraculously power was restored to our heater

This time the story was that the heater was broken -

Breakfast had good wonderful choices of Tibetan food and several western dishes too.

We were told that breakfast in this hotel is among best breakfasts in Shigatse so we were rather surprised in the morning.

Clean, comfy beds, heat and water supply in working order and a breakfast to satisfy the stomach for another day of travels in Tibet.

The food, particularly the breakfast was not very good, the best i could get was a fried egg, at some reluctance of the staff.

The breakfast was fine (actually I had egg and chips which was a lovely change) We ate at their Tibet restaurant in the evening and it was good.

Breakfast had a variety of veg, steamed buns, egg station.

Variety of food was poor, food was cold, and we also find out that it is not easy to eat sunny side up eggs with chopsticks 😊.

Restaurant food was cold and everybody was sick.

Despite the impressiveness of the Potala Palace replica near the front door, it's the cold lobby and overwhelmed staff I'll remember.

At least the cold water shower was welcomed!

though they hadn't been washed in months + food was cold, so maybe try other places in town for breakfast [though food hygiene doesn't seem to be one of Tibet's strengths & this is probably as good as its gets]  or bring your own with you.

The Tashi Choten Hotel is near these landmarks: Nianchu River, Gongjue Linka Palace, Natang Temple, Lama Palace, Naku Temple, Xialu Temple, Nadang Temple, Luozi Peak, Ribu Temple and Kangbala Mountain

Public area restrooms atrocious with overpowering smell of urine emanating into corridors including directly outside restaurant.

On one stay, our hallway was littered with construction trash from work being done on some of the rooms.

Corridors leading to rooms are long and mostly unlit.

but they are at the very end of the corridor - which isn't much use.

Not such a big deal except for the hallway lights are activated by motion sensors that didn't all work - kind of a problem at night.

The hallways and public areas were very poorly lit.

however, the corridor's carpet shows some wear and tear; mind you the hotel is only a few years old.

Its a huge place - the first room we were shown was probably a hundred yards down a long corridor and round the other side of the building - very nice

but the condition at this hotel is poor to average.

Late getting set up, dirty crazed plates, no one plugged in the coffee urn, poor service, etc.

The wifi is poor and once connected cannot access many sites

but a long way away from the lifts and with very poor wifi reception.

Unfortunately due to the poor cleanliness standards we would not stay here again.

I agree on the comments re poor cleanliness as there was a mat of  hair in the shower and a hair on the sheets of the bed.

It was quiet at night, even overlooking the road.

They even give me a compliment breakfast twice even I stay at the dormitory which is a personally big gift for myself.

The Breakfast was also ok, they really tried to make us the stay as much as comfortable for this night/ Braeakfast.

The breakfast buffet was fine, a decent selection.

but the room is slightly less comfortable than Yak but overall it is quite OK as well considering the budget option again.

Each time my room was clean and comfortable.

location is very good too - we walked to a nearby restaurant in the evening.

The hotel was big, the rooms were ok, fairly basic

The room was big and comfy, just the beds (like in every accommodation) were so hard and uncomfortable  - so beds with Potential.

Both our rooms were quiet so we got a good nights sleep.

These room seem newer and are definitely more quiet.

but fortunately the room was provided with an electric radiator, which we kept on all night.

The first room was OK, the second was fab, a full on suite with lounge.

but on the second visit, it was a disaster, a large group of tourists had been through the place like a plague of locusts, and there was nothing left, the staff didn't seem to concerned, in fact there was only one poor girl left on her own trying to make omelettes, the tables & floors were filthy covered in all sorts of food, as we were on a tour it was just a quick omelette and we had to leave, worts brekkie ever.
