However, I would have liked to have control over the fan.

I really didn’t get that explanation as hotels should have heater on 24/7 so not sure what that was all about.

However, my brother complained of cigarette smoke coming in from the toilet air vent from the other room so he had to open his windows throughout the night inside.

However aircon on rooms does not work during winter.

The air con / heater in our room does not seems to work so well, no matter how I adjust the temperature, the fan came out the same temperature.

Just leave the balcony door open for that cool autumn air to keep the temperatures a little more pleasant (no, the thermostat wasn't working in our room).

The weather dropped to 2°C in Seoul during our stay and we felt that the heater was broken since we kept adjusting it

The radiator of the room was not distributed evenly, it would be very cold if sleep on the bed near the balcony, while it was very hot if in the middle of the room and the heat turned up.

Each guest floor has a screen door that will only open if you tap your room key to the sensor pad; even if it's on the same floor, it will only open on the side that your room is in!

We thought that the airconditioning unit was busted.

but not for guests who are not used to the winter when it's freezing outside ? Unacceptable.

The only downside to my stay here is the air conditioner that did not work.

I was told that guests can only manipulate the thermostat only during summer time.

The other annoyance was that upon our return we could not adjust the AC in the room.

As such, the hotel did not turn on the air conditioner.

but over 4 days you do discover: the stains on the wall (near light switches), dust on the top of blinds, dust on the furniture legs, damp patches on the bathroom ceiling, half hanging bathroom blind with a snapped off slat, air-con that is not working, slow wi-fi, and small items under the bed left by previous guests (I found a hairpin but refrained from pulling the bed out to save myself the scare).

HVAC - after our first night, we found the room warm and stuffy and attempted to adjust the thermostat to a lower temperature; unfortunately, only kept on getting warmer.

There is frequent shuttle bus to the main shopping areas and very convenient.

Furthermore, the frequency of the shuttle bus to Myeongdong is once every hour, so it isn’t a feasible means of transportation especially for travellers who miss the bus. 2.

Moreover, there were bus services from the hotel to Myeongdong which is very convenient for my friends and I.

The hotel is location very strategically, you can use Airport bus and stop at Airport bus stop near the hotel.

The hotel is close to the metro and there is also a free shuttle service available.

Also rooms are larger than those in town and there is a frequent shuttle bus to shopping areas.

So please don’t be misled like us, and reach the gates before 10pm otherwise you’d be stranded at the dark alley next to the construction site.

The area is rather dark (as not brightly lit), quiet at night and desserted especially when you walked back late to the hotel (from either subway).

I arrive around 8pm at bus stop and it was very dark and hard to find a hotel.

When I arrived at the hotel in midnight, I was thinking the location is really bad as it really looks like a dark alley and the shops around the hotel are all closed.However, it turned out otherwise.

We arrived at night and had to go down the "dark alley".

The streets were dark and we were afraid of muggers (none whatsoever).

Although the room we got is nicer than some of the other rooms which cost the same, so ask for a light colour decor room if possible, these seem nicer/slightly larger than the dark wood rooms.

They didn't turn it on because it was cold outside and suggested that we just open the balcony doors.

they continuously open and closes the door very frequently and every time it goes "BONG BONG BONG" AT 1AM!!.

The only thing that disappointed us  was outside our hotel was a garbage dumpsite.when we opened the sliding door in the veranda we were able to smell the garbage.

The room is not soundproof I can hear all of the door closing sound like really loud which can really be a nuisance.

The lift is equipped with a security access card even after we reached the designated floor we still need to use the access card to open another door before we can reach our room.

Keycard is needed for access lift, automatic door and the room door.

As others have mentioned, the room offers two free bottles of water in a mini-refrigerator.

Checking in and out of the hotel was hassle free.

Hotel did give us a complementary breakfast to compensate.

Iron, ice and water coolers are provided on each gloor beside the complementary free bottle of mineral water.

Myeongdong is just a 15 min walk, They also have a lounge where u can stay to drinl free coffee.

This hotel is conveniently located near a subway station and provides free shuttle service to popular tourist sites.

- Guest lounge at lobby has 2 Macs (actual Mac and not Windows) to use along with good couches and free tea.

There is ample transportation nearby (Euljiro 3-ga subway station, free shuttle, airport buses, taxi etc).

They have free shuttle bus that takes you to myeongdon center which is a plus plus.

Loved that they offered free shuttle around Seoul, which made it very easy to go to and from the hotel.

The area around the Hotel looks a little sketchy

Although the hotel itself is very nice, the hotel is in a very dirty neighborhood that is quite far from Myeongdong.

Cons:
- The surrounding stores and neighborhood feel very old, need to walk a bit to feel modern.

It’s in a re-developing part of town so the neighborhood is mixed.

but the surrounding neighbourhood was quite rundown, and it was not very pleasant especially if you have to walk back to the hotel from the Chungmuro subway station.

It's in a unique neighbourhood of small businesses, printing, stationery etc..so you get to see some actual slice of Koreans' daily life.

It was scary at first when we arrived at night.

They are located in the middle of a small factories area so it may seem a little dodgy when you are trying to first find it

Paid extra for a corner family room (hence quiet with only one neighbour to worry about) with 4 single beds located on a corner of the 8th floor.

The neighborhood is a working one, on one side the street is all lighting fixtures, on the other it is all stationary stores.

The hotel's neighbourhood is not the most visually appealing,

The only downside is the quiet neighbourhood at night compared to the bustling Myeong Dong streets nearby.

The hotel is located in a rather run-down residential area.

It's in a non-touristy somewhat gritty neighborhood dotted with small restaurants packed with locals.

You wouldn't expect this fancy hotel hidden in the neighborhood.

though the neighborhood is a little dingy, the hotel is located in a prime spot in Seoul.

Staff here are friendly, the rooms are neat and clean, and the beds are really comfortable.

I listed some pros and cons below:

Pros:
- Housekeeping always made sure to keep the room clean.

We used a three-bedroom,  the size of the bed was reasonable and the room was clean, so it was good.

The rooms are clean and comfortable with free Wi-Fi.

Room is very clean, well kept and reasonably big for couple.

House keeping service is good, room is clean and tidy and house keeping lady is friendly too.

Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable.

The rooms are very clean and the beds are comfortable (especially by Korean standards - Koreans like hard mattresses).

But when the facilities staff did check, he suggested that he contact the front desk and ask them to bring a fan, since there seemed to be nothing wrong with the air conditioner.

AC is not in operations since its winter.

Anyway, when we came back that evening, the lights and the aircon were fixed.

The air-conditioner is quite confusing though, it was too warm at 25C

Room heater is a little slow to adjust room temperature

We requested for the aircon to be set to a cooler temperature

The aircon doesn't work as it only for air circulating as we visited on autumn, at outside temperature was maybe around 10°C at night so we practically open the window and voila it was cold enough to sleep well.

The only complaint we had is that the air conditioning was funky (we had 2 hot days and then it got chilly)

At night, it’s very stuffy in the room and not enough air conditioning to sleep.

The room had AC, and not one of those fake ones that don't actually work.

Aircon was not working properly and we had to ask someone to check it out.

The only issue with my stay was the air-conditioning.

Pretty close to train station which is a plus, the hotel cleaning service was great, there's a 24 hr convenience store downstairs and laundry room in basement, they give a lot of free coffee coupons which was alright.

When I checked in late on the first day of my stay and entered, the bathroom door was stuck and I called the front desk.

The light next the room door automatically turns on and off after like 45 seconds which is annoying.

The only things which would make the hotel even better are stopping the cleaners putting a note under your door telling you they weren't able to clean your room.

Only will open at 7 am and sometimes it can be a bit later depending on the staff getting everything ready before they open the restaurant doors.

but there was a lack of international power outlets only 1 and 1 usb charger near a corner, no power next to your bed where u usually wanna charge your phone or other stuff and no sign to put outside the door for "dont disturb" - My wife was taking a shower and the cleaning lady suddenly was about to come in the room.

If the door sign “ do not disturb “ was not off by 830am, they will insert a card underneath the door, if required to clean up the room to contact front desk!

The bathroom door is a sliding door so not recommended if there are children in the group.

Room is not sound proof, can hear next door and outside.

The sound proof is fine as we were not disturbed by the door closing or sound from the corridor.

Could have gone without needing to keep a key near the door area to keep the lights on, never experienced that so its kind of weird
