We tried two of their restaurants and The Market Buffet is by far the best hotel buffet we've ever been to.

The food (from the restaurants as well as room service) is refined and delicious.

Also, the breakfast buffet was probably the best food I have ever eaten in my entire life… it ranged from American breakfast food to Korean food like beef and dumplings!

Cocktail hour lounge menu included maki rolls and special Four Seasons items such as Korean fried chicken.

I think accurate and fast response, delicious breakfast service, soft towels, beds, and room conditions are all the best hotels in Korea.

As I’d mentioned through the app that I was staying on my birthday, I was offered a cupcake in the room upon check-in and it was delicious.

Buffet dinner experience was unforgettable.

In the morning, the buffet restaurant was full, so we decided to eat at the restaurant on the lobby floor which served breakfast menus.

There are a lot of food options to choose from, the buffet is definitely worth checking out.

I also loved having my breakfast and dinner there, both of which were vegan friendly.

I booked my breakfast service through that and request for extra toiletries which is super convenient.

The food at the breakfast buffet was fantastic and the way that every staff member fussed over our son really made us feel at home.

Maru is great for casual dinner and breakfast buffet from Market Kitchen is fantastic with variety of selection, from international to local cuisines.

The buffet breakfast was 5 star and we also had room service which was some of the best we have had in a 5 star hotel.

Felt four seasons in Korea by the interior and the staffs are hospitable.

but obviously being Seoul there was the very welcome Korean section which you tend not to see available outside of Korea.

But Gwanghwamun square is very active with concerts and protests. While the rooms are very quiet from noisy neighbors, the noise from outdoor protests (this IS Korea!)

but the most memorable part is that every single staff I met is friendly, cheerful, speaks fluent english (which is not common even in other hotels in Korea), and super helpful.

Unable to go off script with service; they don’t even remotely try to correct their mistakes.

I suggest you don’t make the same mistake we did.

Unfortunately, there were several mistakes that happened that were not at the level of a premium hotel.

The spa facilities here are amazing leaving you feeling completely relaxed.

Amenities and services were all well produced and especially pool and sauna were great.

Amazing restaurants, beautiful gym and spa, luxurious rooms and wonderful staff.

I like to give special thanks to the laundry staff who took red wine stain out of my shirt and an amazing spa therapist who gave me the best massage and facial treatment.

Breakfast was excellent and we also thoroughly enjoyed a seafood platter from the bar area.

Due to COVID, i was able to have breakfast at Parkview and i really enjoyed!

But at Shilla everything was delicious and high quality.

The main positive of the property is the excellent service from check in to check out as well as a very good breakfast albeit a bit of a mob scene as well.

The food quality and service at the lounge was impeccable - breakfast spread was generous and the gym on the 3rd floor can rival any of the best hotel gyms globally.

Breakfast was really amazing - literally anything you could want was provided and the service was good too.

The breakfasts, lunches, dinners are all organic, beautifully presented, the hotel staff from housekeepers to waitstaff and guest services provide service that will suit even the most discerning traveler.

As an example of how out of the box this hotel is, they flew in two chefs from a Brooklyn restaurant called, The Egg, to do a pop up breakfast bar in their hotel.

The Shilla is a luxurious hotel with exceptionally clean rooms, friendly staff and delicious food.

The freshly stocked buffet lines went on forever and featured everything you could imagine from local delicacies to our creature comfort go-to traditional breakfast options.

Paying extra for the Executive floor is a good value as they offer a full breakfast and dinner as well as an afternoon tea and happy hour.

The next day, early breakfast till 10, then light snacks from 11,30 to 1,30.

We argued that this was not indicated anywhere and we were guests of the hotel that the pool must be free of charge as we have never experienced this on any continent in any hotel in the world.

Outside the hotel entrace are scores of cars and buses with folks coming to see the hotel and the Duty free Shopping next door.

but did not have a chance to stay at Shilla hotel only visited the duty free shop there.

It is also a big tourist attraction as it is attached to their Duty Free store, so can be crowded and chaotic in the lobby during peak hours.

There are several restaurants on premises as well as duty free shopping.

The entrance and lobby may be sometimes crowded with the adjacent duty free mall and the numerous summits;

The duty free is quite busy with a lot of tourists from the Chinese mainland.

Really close by to dongdaemun which is great and The Shilla duty free is amazing too.

I used other duty free shops and this never happened.

This hotel also happens to have the best quality duty free shop in the city in my opinion.

Wonderful service, great ambience, and near a Shilla Duty Free.

Shilla Duty Free is one of the best in town.

The staff performed his regular duty to ask designated questions instead of telling more local information to their guests. 3.

There's a shuttle bus that goes from one of the subway entrances at the bottom of the hill up to the hotel and on to the duty free shops.

Next to the hotel is the Shilla duty free shop.It is a walking distance within 3-5 minutes from the hotel!

The efficient bus transfers to the duty free store as well as 2 downtown shopping sites (Dondaemun and Myeongdong) are much appreciated too.

Its overrun with Duty free shoppers and other non hotel occupants.

Next, the Lifeguards, or rather 'Fun Police' - there are LOTS of them and all equipped with piercing whistles which they are quick to use.

People are coached here just to shop at the duty free mall.

Spa : huge area with fitness center, indoor pool, rest and sleep area, lots of clean towels.

My room was ok, had a view of their indoor golf practice area, not the greatest view

The highlight is an indoor driving range for out Golfers.

Especially the indoor swimming pool is nice.

If you are planning to stay at the Shilla Seoul, I definitely recommend you to book an executive business Deluxe or a higher category which allows you to access the executive lounge room where they offer a very high standard food presentation 4 times daily and the fitness club including indoor pool and sauna.

Facilities:
The indoor pool is a 25 meter pool which has a one sided glass wall allowing you to enjoy the beautiful view of the landscape while you swim.

The hotel offers both an outside pool and indoor pool, which is needed for Seoul with its weather.

For sauna, indoor pool and urban island was also included.

The seemed like a ridiculous cost especially when you considered we saw at most 6 patrons enjoying the pool, almost outnumbered by the staff.

and the breakfast buffet will have to wait in line as well.I regret that I had to pay a lot and stay at this hotel

I can't believe they could provide so much high quality food for the price they charge for the room.

but again we had to pay additionally for our daughter’s breakfast to the tune of KRW32,000/€25 per breakfast.

Hotel did not charge the previous guests for flouting the rules, according to the staff.

Concierge will do just about anything you ask them (for a fee, when required).

Tea time, followed by happy hour and dinner are served in the afternoon, included in the room cost.

Another change from my stay last time was that the hotel car seems to be on hire for fee only.

You will charge me 100% of the service even if I gently asked to cancel WELL in advance and after spending in your hotel 4nights (4) and my colleagues 3 nights (2 persons).

but I have never been to a hotel where you need to pay extra to use the Sauna.

While prices for food and beverages could be a bit more moderate the price value for accommodation is clearly fair.

but also, the most expensive breakfast offering in town.

After the refurbishment in recent years, this hotel is definitely the top hotel in Seoul Korea, and even better than most of the top hotels in Tokyo, where I also visit frequently.

but what makes the hotel top rated is the service of the staff from the beginning to the end.

Having stayed in more than 100's of hotels.. this is in my top 5 across the globe.

The reason being, it's still one of the top 5 hotels in Seoul

I’d say that this is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in and I’ve atayed at most top hotels !!

I realize this is considered one of the top hotels in South Korea, and as such it sometimes seems designed to cater to mega-rich people who travel with entourages, personal chauffeurs, etc.

Our tour guide for this trip said a few times this is the top one or two hotel in South Korea.

but all in all this is one of the top hotels in Seoul. Recommended!

Have stayed at most of Seoul's top hotels still think the Shilla is a class on its own.

Home is located in a very interesting and traditional area of Seoul with many period houses and interesting lanes, artisan shops and eateries - yet easily accessible to downtown.

The area is residential and feels very safe at night.

The surrounding area is fun and historic.

The guesthouse is situated in a nice area.

Loved the area around there, lots of cute little shops and eating at the authentic home made korean food from family run little shops.

There is a mini bus that runs in anguk area and stops at the house doorstep.

There is a common area outside on the second floor, like a small courtyard, with shade, a breeze, and a view of the neighborhood and downtown Seoul.

Location is ideal if you plan to visit the two main palaces and the Bukchon area.

Location is good, easy access to Buckhon Hanok Village tourist area, and Subway.

And the location is great for exploring the surrounding Samcheong-dong area as well as Changdeokgung and the Bukchon Hanok Village.

The family that runs Bukchon Maru are also very sweet, willing to help, and great resources for how to get around or what to do in the area.

We booked the family room, which was divided into a well climatised sleeping area, a common room and a really nice bathroom.

The area is really interesting with many coffe shops, bakeries and traditional restaurants.

Staying here is very good for exploring Bukchon area and also visit Samcheongdong for cafe hopping.

The area offers plenty of choice for quality restaurants and cafés.

Our room was great and we were well-located to explore the traditional Hanok area.

Oh and did i not mention yet, the location of this beautiful Guesthouse is such a lovely area.

And the best part is there are TONS of restaurants in this area, you will not be disappointed!

A traditional Korean breakfast is included and all the ingredients are homemade by house mama.

The daily breakfast served at 8 am was homemade, local, authentic and very delicious!

The breakfast is amazing the rooms are comfortable, it was a magical experience… I recommend it highly!
