Reception during check in was very cold , disorganised - lacking in warmth and welcoming smile.

Food was diabolical ended up with food poisoning as food was often cold, they had a bad habit of putting hot food on top of the cold so you got a mixture not good.

Eventually plates of cold rice potatoes and chicken were placed in front of us.

The weather was a little too cold for us to swim,

The cooked breakfast items were often cold and the eggs/beans overdone.

The eggs are pre cooked along with the omelettes and left to go cold.

Cold or at best lukewarm, with little choice especially for vegetarians.

For my first dinner I tried some braised lamb casserole type dish and it was inedible, so I left it and ended up with some cold mac n cheese and some french fries. Terrible.

There are only 2 outdoor pools one of which is too cold due to the location which is overshadowed by the hotel building.

but it’s not a 5 star it’s more like a 3 star and the food is disgusting cold Brussels and cabbage for breakfast all the meals were bad had to eat out all the time , also it’s quite a noisy hotel with people in the gardens in the morning making noise .

who was very rude and miserable.Food was not wonderful,we found mostly overdone with oils and spices,it was often cold as were the plates.Puddings were mainly cakes,with a few pots of rice and mousse type dishes.Fresh fruit was available.A huge amount of chinese people used this hotel as a base,left early morning for tours and returned every evening for dinner,so a free for all at 7pm.

but my first mouthful was STONE cold so I never bothered again.

Moved rooms 3 times due to large numbers of guest arriving each night, staying one night then leaving early hours, they were very noisy, banging doors,phones going off. .

The bathroom door does not fully close so can hear anyone going to the toilet and if you are having a shower you can be seen from the bedroom due to the wall being glass so there is no privacy for our daughter.

Round by the pool with the water slides mostly everyday the music was so loud it was unbearable to sit there , i have slight hearing issues and it was way to loud to be enjoyable as were alot of the guests who regularly shouted / argued / slammed doors and smashed furniture againts floor and walls at 2 am,

The bathroom was badly designed with a stain glass wall check out pics  the door had an inch gap around  so no privacy.

The whole time I was there I wished I had booked The Infinity hotel next door.

-when we arrived our balcony door was broken, the bathroom had a funny drain like smell, one of the 2 toilet flushes didn’t work and one of the plugs were broken with prongs stuck in them.

The balconies are so close you can almost touch the neighbours door , there is no privacy there at all .

very nice clean unfortunately the patio door handle was broken.. 3times we had to report eventually they fixed it hour and half later at 2.30am: 
Only could use air condition for about 5 minutes then the smell of sewerage was unbearable, reported to Claudia .

but honestly looking at the hotel next door I’m quite jealous I’m not there.

Had a slight problem with the bathroom door

The room was also a complete disater , the walls are dirty , the floor is ruined as you can see in my pictures and in the bathroom it is always sewer smell which you can fell in all this tiny room because the door is broken and it doesn’t close.

We are staying with our teenage son and it’s not quite convenient because the bathroom is separated from the room with a glass wall and a glass door with no locks on it.

The exterior appeared to be very insignificant in real life (compared to the pictures), the reception was small and ugly (close to what you would find in a 2/3 star hotel), the public bathrooms had the stall doors broken, so someone had to hold them for you, there were no umbrellas on the restaorant's terrace (meaning no one can eat outside and enjoy the view - which, I must admit, is indeed gorgeous).

My daughter did notice that the cleaners tend to leave all the room doors open when cleaning  so anyone could have accessed our room during this time.

For example, the bed sheets were changed only twice during our 1 week stay; the toilet and the bathroom were not cleaned after each service; the house keeper entered the room, after 1 knock on the door, in any position you were in your room!

The lift broke 3 days before we left and it was still broken when we checked out.

Not what i had paid for i had paid for club family room Which are in the buildings with no lift this should be highlighted to people when booking .

Originally booked into a room in D Block on the 4th floor, top floor with no lift.

Hotel seems to be decided between jet 2 and the rest of the world and jet 2 customers get the lesser rooms with no lifts , tiny balcony mainly obscured sea view .

although we thought was small, bathroom was very small containing shower wc and wash basin , we had very small balcony with just 2 chairs no room for table  , we did have a sea view our room was in the corner  3205 and got no sun on whatsoever ,we were aware that this block of rooms were allocated to uk holiday makers, and the main building were for foreign nationals  which had the better views and a lift.

The lifts to the upper floors are very small and you can wait a while at busy times,  there is a very small private beach which is extremely rocky.

Elevator always busy with staff and no ventilation.

It is a nice hotel we had some bumps on the Road with the service not always being friendly the first day they gave us a room where you had to go up the stairs and we have two little kids and a buggy there was no elevator not so nice and they seemed angry when we asked them to give us a new room with elevator

Blocks 3&4 are two-three stories high and DO NOT have lifts.

So we do just that get in to then stand in the lift for a couple of seconds pressing 5 and it’s not working???

We were on the 5th floor and when the lift broke, we asked what was happening and they just said 'i dont know' and walked off.

but the other 2 building has no elevator.

Dirty showers leaking showers lifts that stop and shudder and fit 3 people in the food is bland evenings is leftovers from lunch with a few extra dishes

maybe he was frustating seeing the elevator.

Lift is problem too small and just can fit 2 people with one cabin luggage.

The elevators were small, crampy and needed to be updated.

I will add, though, the block we were in was not part of the main hotel  - which is the only part of the hotel with lift facilities.

Our room was really clean and kept in this way every day by the cleaning staff.

The rooms are clean and well presented not quite as in the photos,

Nice sea view, spacious very clean room, well maintained each day by the housekeeping team.

The entertainment was amazing staff are really friend and great company live music different nights fethiye is a great entertainer one of the best always friendly and funny to be around room was always clean with a great view of the beach

our room was lovely and modern with the most beautiful view of the ocean, bed comfy and room very clean.

but we have to continue our tour Cleanliness of the rooms smiling staff variety and delicious food, I am very pleased with this situation We had a really enjoyable time with RAMO’s unique understanding of entertainment entertaining and enjoyable activities organized by the animation team in the evening and daytime and we always started the day 3-0 ahead with DJ songs on top of that.

First of all: staff barely speaks english, rooms are clean.

Plus the room was always very clean and tidy.

Zaynap our housekeeper kept our room spotless, anything we asked for she made sure our stay was super.

Rooms were very clean and maid was really nice and cleaned our room every day.

They started removing things such as salt and pepper from our table before we'd finished eating.

These customers were given preferential treatment, were incredibly rude and demanding, had all the mangers running round after them and even got waiter service at their tables in the bar.

The tables in the dining room were never cleaned.

If you went to get a drink while eating chances are when you got back to your table the waiters had cleared your plates even if there was food on there.

Big bottle of water on table if you get in there first.. You can find  some thing  even if is a strange mix.

This was the same for tables in the resturant and by the pool.

We had one complaint which was the clearing of table in the restaurant was slow, and also getting a drink in there was non existent.

but over priced down graded from 4 to 3 star we had room 3111 disabled sea view outside quiet pool which was lovely, only 3 coat hangers asked for 10 more got 5 husband had to pile his clothes on 1 shelf not much storage, very dark in bed area no ceiling light no sockets beside 2 dressing tables except for kettle in back of cupboard.

I went to my table and a i ate what i had on my plate , after that i was Waiting in the row to Take again that tiny slice because it was good and lady recognised me and she did not want to offer me again so we i went for the third time with 20 lira under my plate and i gave it to  her and she filled my plate , she forgot everything about portions.

but Claudia saved the day and we were booked for a table.

Also the staff who clear up plates when u are eating scrambling around the table trying to pick up empty sauce packets and clear your plate when your still eating again bloody rude!

*1st night eating tea we get told to move from our table as it was reserved for the Chinese nothing on the table to tell you this so I refused as I had eaten half my tea.

• One suggestion, the outside terrace gets very hot as there are no umbrellas, cutlery is laid out on these tables and becomes too hot to pick up.

however say that sadly some of the waiting staff do let the restaurant down with slow service & seemingly a little incapability of setting tables efficiently - we'd sometimes set our own tables as it was quicker and we'd do it right.

but they still managed to get us a table.

even though we had been in the hotel since Saturday, she goes around approaching people to fill the tables for the two restaurants and once they are full her job is done, we only spoke to her fro five minutes in the seven days we stayed at the hotel, so not sure about the good reviews left on this site regarding 'Claudia' what made them to praise her?

Location is nice as well 3 to 5 minutes walk from all the attractions.

The hotel owner is extremely helpful and oriented us to the town, must see attractions, and even helped us get medication when one of our friends got sick.

The hotel location is good, within easy walking to restaurants, bus depot and attractions.

This is a budget hotel five minutes from Ephesus and other attractions.

The hotel is very close to the major attractions.

Small rural town and can walk to station, bus stops, few attractions and restaurants.

Location is perfect - one can just walk down to the bus/train stations or to the attractions such as St.John's Basilica/ Temple of Artemis.

saved us time by explaining some train tips to us, helped us plan our short time in Selcuk/Ephesus, handling negotiations with taxis and recommending the best food, routes, and attractions with no pressure whatsoever.

It is about 10-15 mins walk to the bus station where you can catch minibuses to Ephesus and other attractions.

All attractions are easily accessed from this location.

Every single restaurant or attraction he recommended was a gem.

You can walk to several of the main attractions.

Tourist attractions like The Basilica of Saint John, Turkish Bath Museum, Ayasuluk Castle, Mosque of Isabey, and The temple of Artemis are within walking distance from the hotel.

This is a very basic hotel, its clean and the location is good in relation to Ephesus and the Church of St John, the main attractions in Selcuk.

Ilker collected us from the airport at Izmir, pointed us towards local highlights, provided us with great tips for Istanbul, arranged a day trip to more distant attractions, took us to a fantastic lunch spot in the hills nearby and consistently made us feel welcome and completely at home.

Ilker Sen, the owner, spoke perfect English, provided recommendations and directions to area attractions.

The Nazar Hotel is well located in Selcuk, easy walk to town centre and a good base for seeing Ephesus and other attractions.

The hotel is also centrally located for the various attractions in this area.

The main attraction of Hotel Nazar is the family that operates the hotel.

I think it was the friendliness of Osman, the owner, that gave it such a welcoming attraction.

The pool was also a welcoming amenity after a long hot day tour of Ephesus and Selçuk.

Comfortable rooms, strong air conditioning, good showers and WiFi.

The rooms and bathrooms have good size and they are very clean.

The decor was a mix of traditional Turkish design with modern amenities.

But our room was comfortable, the bathroom was great, the Turkish breakfast was huge, the pool was inviting, so we cancelled the bus and stayed on.

The hotel is tastefully decorated in Turkish decor and the rooms are very comfortable (nice modern bathrooms) with some having wonderful views of the ancient castle.

The room itself was well appointed, spacious and had an ensuite bathroom with shower.

There was as spacious bathroom and a nice shower, which had very good water pressure.

To me, showers are important and the constant hot water and moderate water pressure helped me recommend this hotel when visiting ephesus.

Needless to say, the hotel itself and the amenities were wonderful and very charming.

We rented a suite for 4 people with a shared bathroom for a very reasonable price.

I liked it better and better with each day, as I got to know the neighborhood, the town, the family that owns and operates the hotel, and the small thoughtful amenities -- such as the multilingual guidebook collection in the lobby.

Like Miniking (see review earlier), I was stuck in Selcuk after a big snowstorm in Istanbul closed Ataturk airport in Feb15.

We wish that we could have stayed there more than just 1 night because it was a delightful place and we heard that the restaurant at the hotel had excellent food (it was closed by the time we arrived the night of our stay).

We messed up trying to mail a package home (got to the post office just after it closed).

(**Please note: the Ephesus Museum in Selcuk is still closed, due to renovation - the only disappointment).

Downsides - the museum and the castle are closed - that's it!

Small street location – the street was unofficially closed for a local wedding when we visited.

Unfortunately we did not get to see the  the famous Isa Bey Camii mosque, as it appeared to be closed.

The rooms are clean, perhaps even a little too sparse, and being that it was November (and cold in the morning and night) the pool was closed as well as the kitchen.

Unfortunately we didn't get to have dinner as the kitchen was closed both nights we were there.

We are a family of 4 persons : we got a double room clean comfortable and colourful.

i stay here for two night, the hotel was nice, the room was clean, the staff and owner are very helpful, they even pick me up from the bus station on my arrival.

When a ferry breakdown prevented us from taking a planned day trip to Samos, he called around to get us a bus tour to Pamukkale as a substitute, something which would have been difficult to manage ourselves on such sort notice speaking no Turkish whatsoever.

He recommended tours, then made successions of phone calls to book me in on them, sometimes at very short notice.

I called the hotel once again, apologised for the situation having to cancel at short notice, my friend was extremely ill, at the emergency dept, when I received an abusive call from Iiker, accusing us of deliberately causing him inconvenience and trouble as he could have rented out the room to someone else.

After the next morning's room cleaning, the chair had been removed from the room.

The city apparently won't let them put up direction signs.

but just far enough removed to be a little quieter.

Selçuk is a great little town and user/tourist friendly without being a “tourist town”, despite being so close to Ephesus.

They are both licensed tourist guides and have so much information at their finger tips.

Ilker and his wife were in the tourism business for years before purchasing the hotel and are passionate about Turkey.

Thankfully, the hotelier and his wife are both former tour guides who strive to excel in making tourists’ dreams come true in Turkey.

This is such a cute and cosy hotel with small and brightly coloured rooms.The hotel is also centrally located and it's close to the most of the tourist sites.The owner of the hotel,Ilker, is a very good host.

The hotel was walking distance to Basilica of St John, Temple of Artemis, Ayasuluk Fortress, and a central tourist area full of restaurants and handicraft stores.

They provide a shuttle from Selçuk tourism center and they also dropped us in the train station.

His background as a travel agent from Istanbul is very useful when you are a tourist, and need to book day tours or just get some intel.

(but they are happy to sell to tourists)

If we were going to do it again, we'd probably stay here again.

The hotel is just a few short blocks from the main tourist streets, and from several local sites of antiquities.

They were informative, convenient, reasonably priced and skip he touristy nonsense (carpet shops, onyx factories, etc.).

I have stayed in larger, tourist hotels in Kusadasi, Antalya, Neveshir, Istanbul, Konya, and Izmir,

We stopped at tourist info in town to get directions, they phoned the hotel and Ilker the manager arrived in 5 mins to pick us up.

I felt taken advantage of for being a tourist and booking/committing in advance prior to seeing.

He scheduled me with a "no frills" tour, which is known for not stopping at tourist shopping traps.

They will not hesitate to ask tourists if they need any help for direction and etc.

Working as a travel agent for over 15 years, the host is very experienced and helpful in providing tourist information around Turkey.

After having 4 holidays cancelled (Algarve and Canary Islands) due to Covid 19, we were determined to get away somewhere this year.

Went to Palmin Hotel at the beginning of august when our flights to Spain got cancelled due to covid, and it did not disappoint.

No bacon or any kind of pork due to the religion, I suppose.

but will not return due to the location of the hotel.

In 30 yrs of travelling I have never been ill maybe it was due to the hygiene and cleaning of the hotel .

Food hot and miss and not hot enough.i had a bad stomach the second week which im sure was due to the food not being heated properly,

For most of the day the speeds are glacial due presumably to the amount of people using it.

Probably wouldn't go back to the Palmin hotel due to the food.

We haven't had one nights sleep due to Paul and Donna floor 3!!

but it closed due to unrest and people being scared so we were delighted to get the same high standard in Palmin ,but then Ronan is Son of owner of Seapearl  so we didn’t expect any less from him .I just want to say to any travelers ,don’t be scared to go to this part of the country it’s very safe we can’t wait to go back .Ronan and Staff see a soon

me and my husband had booked a week before we were due to fly out and travelled on the 16th july, day after all trouble istanbul which is by no means anywhere near.

but were transferred due to closure but we wernt disappointed :))) great holiday !

There is only one socket in the room, no way to put your phone on charge lying on the bed, or charge 2 devices same time.

I had both of my wedding and engagement rings dipped in white gold and he did a repair for me.

I think we would call the management lier liers pants on fire!

2 sockets in a 4 person room when phones, ipads etc need constant charging is poor.

The one thing that did let the hotel down was the evening  entertainment ,poor is what I would call it.One professional act which was brilliant and the rest was the in house team.

At nights we woke up to the call, which lasts about 4 mins.,

although we took out insurance we had to pay the excess.We can only blame the hotel food as we never ate out.Food was only ever like warm.Choice of food was terrible, British people weren't really catered for unless you ate chips,bolognese, onion rings,.I only ate toast and boiled eggs the days the eggs were put on for breakfast.The two weeks we were there we ate very little.
