There were no hot water as the Gas bottles were empty, and we had to take a cold shower.

Upon leaving she gave us a cold attitude.

We tried to phone the lady in charge the next morning early,

and  a must see is the 5 star spar  with resturant around the corner wich is amazing all round amazing experience with dormio see yourl soon🙏

Apart from a small misunderstanding of food taken out of my fridge it was a great stay.

We want to thank them for making us feel at home.The food was very tasty and the rooms pretty and clean.Thank you.

The setting was perfect, the room was spotless and had everything that we needed.

Very friendly staff with clean rooms always make me feel very welcome.

The rooms were very neat and clean, I really had a peace of mind.

A nice getaway if you want some chill time away from the hectic city.

Would like to eat inside the hotel and not outside.

Excellent location to access work, Secunda Shooping Mall and nearby restaurants.

Very nice restaurant,  pools and gym that is open 24/7.

The complex is very secure and you can also walk next door to other restaurants, pubs and shops.

It is we situated at Lake Umuzi which means that it is walking distance to the restaurants.

Hotel area is nice with a few restaurants on walking distance.

I like the fact that there is ample restaurants to choose from.

For the record upon check in I enquired about dinner, and was told I have two options for restaurants.

Supper is via vouchers at adjacent restaurants.

The hotel is very close to a number of restaurants which made dinner  pleasure.

A very good one night stopover within walking distance from the waterfront restaurants.

Considering the fact that one of the largest refineries in SA is situated in Secunda, this hotel comes as a pleasant surprise, and close to the Umuzi Waterfront and a selection of restaurants right on your doorstep.

We like the location beside a commercial plaza, so we could have walk every evening and to pick up a new restaurant  for dinner.

Within a walking distance, there is a limited number of restaurants and entertainment facilities (for young ones).

The choice and quality of food in Boesies is also very good.

Merchant Hotel is well located on the waterfront, with lots of activities and various restaurants to choose from.

The location is great because there are lots of restaurants within walking distance and Lake Umuzi is something pretty to look at.

I have stayed here on more than one occasion, the staff are so friendly and helpful, the rooms clean and comfortable.

The hotel is advertised as a business class hotel and is a decent standard hotel, rooms are clean, multiple region sockets for plugging in your devices, beds are comfortable and bathroom is ok. A bit strange having the clear glass screen directly into the bedroom area.

Rooms were clean and tidy, as was the rest of the hotel.

but was also disappointed with this room as it had a mouldy smell.

The room they assigned to us it had dirty sheets.

However a few odd points - shower has a clear glass screen directly into the bedroom area, wi-fi really very slow, no phones in the rooms, bottles of water not provided properly.

The only negative remark is the internet which was very slow during the period that I have stayed.

Their website advertised that they have free WiFi (one of the reasons I chose them over other hotels) when we got there they told us that their printer doesn't work and that the WiFi passwords are system generated and they couldn't give us any.

However, the upkeep seems to be going down because the shower of the room I was allocated had a very poor and unhygienic drainage system – with no bath tub, which could have been an alternative.

I found a used Condom lying next to my bed the following morning.

We were two adults and three kids with only 2 beds, when booked we booked for two adults and three kids.

Graceland Hotel Casino Country Club hosted journalists at their Blue Bayou restaurant to introduce their new menu.

Graceland casino and hotel resort is one of the best places for a break away or a business trip.

Shower is terrific

Downstairs a casino and a few restaurants.

I, on the other hand, couldn’t resist scrutinising the menu for the “pièce de résistance”.

Had an awesome day and night at Gracelands, stunning linx golf course, relaxing by the pool, a few restaurants to choose from, great for couples and for families.

Food is positioned for easy access

The pool is laid out in a nice oval shape with palm trees.

The service that was offered was exceptionalMy room was neat and tidy and very spaciousThe hotel is located close to where I was doing business making this an ideal stay over for me.I would like the receptionist to be aware that on Sundays the preferred restaurant is not open.

Infact, the facility allows one to have 3 course meal in 3 countries in a day.

Love the idea of the a'lacarte menu over weekends.

The buffet at the hotel restaurant was out of this world.

Their rooms are standard rooms like any hotel, nothing spectacular, more for the business person, just for an overnight stay, their food is very good.

For business meetings and workshops in Secunda, Graceland offers comfortable rooms and services, accompanied with a vast selection of food for breakfast and dinner.

Besides that, the breakfasts were superb, the food in Madisons was excellent and brilliant value.

but the stay was excellent, food excellent.

the food was good, they could do with a little more sea food varieties.

The service was friendly and the food was nice.

the cleanliness of the room, the calmness as well as professionalism of the reception staff , room service from one waiter i forgot to take  her name was so exceptional  ( friendly ,down to earth , warm )

You will enjoy a place where the focus is on keeping the customer happy with the food and services supplied.

The rooms are clean, cosy and you immediately feel at home.

There was an uncomfortable paint smell in my room.

though is that the air conditioning does not work in the rooms and this makes it very uncomfortable to sleep in the summer months.

The caramelised onions added that little extra to the dish.

I really did appreciate the front room away from everyone else and near the gate (thank you for that) The breakfast was mediocre (eggs, hashbrown and toast, cereals and coffee included - I do not eat bacon)  Overall it was a very pleasant stay.

Very well situated close to all restaurants.

I had a pleasant stay, the attention to detail was outstanding and the food divine!

Breakfast was delicious, there was something to eat for everyone and was enjoyed by all.

When I got to the venue lost at night, when I called him to ask for the direction, he was very rude saying that it is not his problem that I got lost and he dropped the phone.

The room is very tiny and dingy, with 1 x single bed.

Rooms small and dingy making it difficult to move around.

The manager/owner was smoking in the reception area.

Kettles need to stand on the floor as the cords are too short to reach the table when plugged in.

I wouldn't mind going back for a holiday.

I don't think any holiday maker will ever stay here.

Crack tiles and dirt in the corners does not cut it for a 3 star hotel.

i thought it was just another 2 star hotel.

I felt as if I was in a 5 Rated star hotel.

Asked for iron at 8 only got it 2hrs later.

the first evening was brought to the room, second day was asked to come dish out as it was buffet so had to drive.

And then apon requesting to speak to someone more senior he, decided to call our MD and wake him up because he wont call his own manager.

On the 24th as I was leaving the hotel I kindly asked the lady by reception to tell the housekeeping ladies to change my bedding, because they didn’t change it

I would definitely come again with more friends n family.the pool the view have not tried food yet

the back rooms are far from the restaurant, walking there when is dark or quiet can be scary.

.staff, friendly and very helpful, enjoyed breakfast and dinner, loved the executive room with extra space to work after hours.

If it wasn’t for the dirty and dusty room I would have definitely booked there again, because of the friendly staff members and the reception area, restaurant and outdoor area looks very nice.

We went here for a meal and for a business meeting.

I had a great experience there, the rooms were clean and the breakfast was nice besides that the yoghurt was finished the time i came.

5) Don’t want to sleep there in the dead of a Secunda winter night.

Not sure if it was staff in the hallway chatting and my neighbor was watching television since 04:00 while I tried to sleep,

I was kept awake by kids playing in the corridor all night long, keeping the motion activate light on in the corridor.

The food was also perfectly cooked and I enjoyed it too.

The room was very clean and nicely decorated, very modern.

I was impressed with your standard and cleanliness of the room, the food.

I again visited the place checked in 19 January 2021 and there was no water in secunda

To whom it may concern, 
I still await feedback for this booking as I booked and on arrival I had no accommodation for the night, I also had to check into another hotel as we were running a marathon in Secunda the next day, we finally got accommodation and 3hrs sleep before running 42km the next day.

but she offers to do - very expensive and not tasteful.

The rooms are clean and more than adequate, the breakfast is varied and tasty and the staff is super friendly.

.food department and resturant requires major attention.

This owner/manager of the guesthouse dont like suggestions or complaints - when you offer a suggestion, she kicks people out in the street to see to themselves.

This usually consists of cold meats, cheeses, boiled eggs, yoghurt and fruits.

Although not on the premises, management is just a phone call away.

When I came there only the cleaners were on site and they have to phone the owner who are not working on the premises.
