Bathroom size and layout was a little small and both of us banged our legs on the box at the end of the bed.

The bathroom could do with a couple of towel rails and somewhere to put soapbags etc.

Plug in bathroom sink was broken as was the extractor fan.

A bath was out of the question as when fully run was luke warm.

The shower in the bath for instance and the door onto the balcony was not adequately soundproofed.

++ deep bath tub and hand shower head that can be placed on wall (see negatives below)
+ washing line.

Their room didn’t have a wardrobe or chair in the room the shower in both rooms didn’t have a fixture so we could not shower only by hand held .

but the bathroom in ours was a little dated.

The bathroom could do with an upgrade, especially the shower, as it wasn’t particularly powerful.

but the shower over the bath was too small the taps to fill the bath  were on the side and because of this  were  in danger of catching your legs or even falling over think they need a bit of a overhaul.

The bathrooms are small, dated and need updating to power showers as a minimum.

I had to go to reception twice to get shampoo!

The one socket we found that fitted our adapters was in the bathroom!

No water bottles in the room and the pressure of the water in the bath is not strong enough.

The free courtesy bus was great and the driver was really friendly.

The shuttle bus was also a welcome addition and the driver was also always friendly and welcoming.

There is a shuttle bus to/from he hotel and town centre which was fine and worked well.

but they provide a shuttle bus every hour that drops you off near the shopping district in town.

The food is excellent, the facilities are fantastic and the hotel hourly shuttle bus complimentary to and from the town is a major asset to both the hotel and residents.

The bus may leave early when full so you do, you don’t know.

Having the shuttle bus into town was handy.

The staff are friendly and engaging, the food lovely, the hotel clean and tidy, the shuttle bus into town quick ( è molto divertente:-) ).

You will have read that there is a way to walk down into town, it was so hot we didn't attempt it, the free hourly shuttle bus is really handy and drops / collects you from town centre - its 10 minutes on an air conditioned bus.

A great hotel team, and big thanks to Catello for the prompt bus service to and from Sorrento.

Although the hotel is high on the hill over Sorento - they put an hourly bus from town to the hotel through the day and until 11:30 at night … 
If I was to come back to Sorento again I would definitely return to the Grand Hotel Aminta!

Shuttle bus from hotel to town was great and quick.

The hourly shuttle bus is free and is only 15 minutes in duration.

The hotel has a complimentary bus service to Sorrento, which is great.

Shuttle bus or hiking path to downtown Sorrento was just the perfect compliment to experience Europe at its finest!

We had Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner and everithing was superb and flavered.

The bar and restaurant were great no complaints and both my kids 10 & 13 loved it.

The menu has section of chef's recommendations, and they were spot-on.

Enjoyed evening meal, breakfast was continental lots of choice.

but it's all well-prepared and very tasty.

Plenty of sun beds and sofas/chairs around to sit in the shade whilst having a light lunch.

From there it's easy to get to the shops, restaurants and piers.

We arrived late, and the food service had finished .

Food is of an extremely high exceptional standard for both breakfast and evening meals in the grand restaurant and also the lunchtime alfresco dining with restaurant staff delivering an exceptional standard of service , also there is an a la carte menu .

), the food was good -- truly nothing negative to say!!!

On several occasions we had lunch on the terrace and also dined outside one evening - the a la carte menu selections were delicious!

All of the staff from reception, bar, restaurant to room cleaners were extremely helpful and friendly.

We did have lunch and a dinner there, again, perfect

Staff are dressed in traditional Italian attire across the eating sessions.

The rooms have huge windows to fully enjoy.

but all of this information is on a brochure in your room.

We stayed in room 16 which has a ‘garden’ view aka a pine tree.

THE VEIWS FROM OUR ROOM AND HOTEL WERE MAGNIFICENT.

For all the beauty of the hotel and its views, the rooms are underwhelming, sparsely decorated with cheap items, and somewhat dated.

We had entertainment on 2 nights , we was in room 12, very good for what we needed.

Rooms are of a high standard with the superior room we had booked was the same room we had when we stayed in 2017 as it was at our request prior to our arrival and the hotel front reception desk made it possible  with my mother and father in law in the room nextdoor ( Thank you)  rooms are kept very clean daily as well as the hotel is throughout.

We had a really nice room wirh a balcony.

Our room (406) on the 4th floor was immaculately presented with a stunning view from the balcony.

My family and I stayed here for 7 nights from 31/8, the hotel is situated on a hill that overlooks Sorrento and if you have a superior  balcony room you get a view of Mount Vesuvius as well.

Reading lounge, spa/gym, pool showers and changing rooms and stunning views over Sorrento on the outside terrace.

We were in the annex and on arrival were shown to our room and then our luggage was brought to us.

The hotel is luxurious without being stuffy; the food was amazing; the rooms were clean and comfortable; the pool area is also clean and a lovely place to spend the day

but that is only a minor thought I had in passing), they put our rooms next to one another which was helpful as a mum with her 3 children travelling alone.

Our rooms had great views of the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius.

Not to mention the wiew witch is one of the best we ever seen.Huge Thank you to each one of the staff .We hope to come back some time.! !

First, I have to say, the front-desk staff here was amazing.

From the moment I arrived the staff at reception were so friendly & helpful.

The hotel staff cannot do enough for you and you are always greeted with smiles, politeness and courtesy .

Staff was great, views are incredible, the pool and jacuzzi were fabulous, the free shuttle to Sorrento's center made life so much easier (the taxis in Sorrento are expensive!

This was extended throughout our stay by every member of staff.

Nothing was ever too much trouble and we were always met with a warm welcome and a smile.

In all, the hotel is nice and clean, the staff are lovely and I recommend it.

The location was perfect and the views over the bay were breathtaking.

What a great place to stay, I stayed with my family, from my original booking I upgraded to better rooms which was well worth it as we got the the top floor rooms with the most fantastic views.

The views of Mount vesuvius from hotel are stunning.

And its views are fantastic from up the hill are fantastic!

but the major draw was the friendliness of the staff and those views

It did have a view over a weird piece of roof line to the town, the sea  and across to Vesuvius.

They have a pool and hot tub and a pool bar where you can get a nice Aperol spritz in the evening and enjoy the panoramic views.

A lovely sophisticated hotel with fantastic views high over Sorrento during the day and the evening from high up where fireworks come up to you .

The bar being outside was lovely, great place to relax and enjoy the views over Sorrento and the Gulf of Naples - the views from the hotel were stunning.

Shuttle bus every hour to Sorrento, with an excellent driver.

although hot there was cooling breeze, and there is a very handy shuttle bus to and from the hotel to Sorrento which we used constantly.

The hotel provide a free friendly bus shuttle every hour which is ideal and runs from 8am to 11pm.

The hourly shuttle bus into town takes just 10mins and was a God send.

The shuttle bus to Sorrento town and back is a game changer, you will not fancy the walk down, most of it has no pavement and the driving is very hectic.

Shuttle bus runs like clockwork, never had to worry about getting a sun bed always plenty what ever time you go down .

The hourly shuttle bus suited us and we made several trips into Sorrento both day and evening to sample the atmosphere.

The hotel is up very high and would not be easy to get to if not for the excellent shuttle bus service provided which runs back and forth into Sorrento on the hour from early until late.

Shuttle bus to centre of Sorrento is brilliant - always on time, every hour.

Plus you get the shuttle bus to sorrento every hour which is great.

Lovely location just out of town with a complimentary shuttle bus down into Sorrento hourly return.

The hotel is clean and tidy, the staff friendly and attentive.

The public areas and rooms were spotlessly clean, as was the pool area, with a superb 22m pool; on one rainy morning I had it to myself for over an hour!

The staff are second to none, from the cleaners (everywhere is spotless) down to the management.

It is all spotlessly clean throughout the hotels, with Hand Sanitizer stations scattered around.

The hotel is excellent, spotlessly clean and all the staff are very friendly and always on hand to help.

Rooms were adequate and the bathroom facility's were modern and extremely clean!

The hotel was exceptionally clean and the shuttle bus was a vital service as walking into Sorrento would be very risky by road, the timetable provided worked very well for us for getting into town for excursions and exploring Sorrento.

Although the decor is dated, the hotel is spotlessly clean and the service from all the staff is first class which made our trip just great.

Being regular visitors over a number of years, we know we are guaranteed outstanding customer service and fabulous food a wine in a hotel which is well maintained and spotless throughout.

We stayed at this hotel 12 years ago so decided to return for a lovely weeks relaxing break and it did not let us down i can only repeat what everyone else say's about it fantastic .The location,the cleanliness .the food and staff are spot on with special mentions to our waiter for the week francesco  and tina on reception for looking after us and to the friends we made there will definately return again 1 day.

All the staff at La Solara are fantastic - friendly, helpful and knowledgeable - the front desk team are always happy to help with any query, the cleaning staff keep the rooms immaculate and the restaurant staff are all amazing - Francesco even provided me with ice to help cool my mosquito bites - that is going above and beyond!!

We found the whole place to be super clean and tidy.

Pool was clean, with a plentiful supply of sun-loungers, with a poolside bar where you can get lunch/snacks.

As a quick headline - we had a fantastic holiday in Sorrento and would highly recommend the BW Hotel La Solara.

They are friendly, attentive and care so much about how much you enjoy your holiday!

We had an absolutely fantastic holiday staying at La Solara, which is just a 5 minute bus ride away from the centre of Sorrento.

We enjoyed a relaxing break with family here.

We really enjoyed our holiday at La Solera hotel perfect base to explore Sorrento Almalfi coast, Naples, Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius!

The hotel location was the selling point prior to us arriving as we wanted a chilled holiday.

It was our first holiday abroad together and we couldn’t have wished for better.

The hotel is immaculate and the staff all work so hard to make your holiday the best it can be.

We chose this hotel for a TUI Sorrento holiday and it could not have been better.

but despite this we enjoyed our holiday primarily due to this hotel, which exceeded expectations and we would highly recommend it!

The pool is large by most hotel standards and there is lots of room for everyone.

The garden is beautiful, as are the views and pool.

Pool good with smaller pool for children.

The pool is great with plenty of sunbeds, shade if you want it, and a great cafe/snack bar serving excellent food.

Pool area is lovely plenty of room & sunbeds, gym facilities and pool bar/restaurant excellent, also complementary pool towels.

Boys loved the pool, and the breakfast 😀 I loved the lobby & bar decor - gorgeous.

The hotel has a big swimming pool with more than enough sun beds, pool bar etc.

The pool was huge and not crowded loved the hourly shuttle into Sorrento and took advantage of a boat tour to Capri offered at the front desk which was cheaper than others found online - recommended.

Pool was colder than I remember which there were a lot of murmurings about so it could do with being a degree or too higher to make it more pleasant.

Such amazing views from the pool side and most rooms.

Pros: good views, solid pool, and a frequent shuttle to the city.

but the pool is really large and not crowded.

but very nice and traditionally Italian, the pool is fantastic and there was no pumping music playing which is a common and unwelcome trend elsewhere.

It was really lovely to have the meal by the pool- so that you could watch the beautiful sunset.

Also the breakfast as mentioned by someone else is the same as it was 20 years ago, I do think they need to look at what other hotels are doing as it’s poor, cereal in hideous containers that are from the 70s and you can’t get the product out of!!

The first two nights we experienced the dinner and it was very poor.

but signals for mobile phone networks were poor - this might have been my handset, but all four people in my group had problems getting mobile data, so Wi-Fi was important. Environment.

but we found them to be poor value for money this time compared to others we have been on.

The breakfasts were ordinary, with the sausages and bacon of poor quality, as was the Parma ham.

TV is poor - only news (BBC, CNN and SKY) in English.

but the TV offers a poor choice of programmes.

Hot breakfasts were fairly poor & generally consisted of streaky bacon, watery sausages and scrambled egg.

Some reviews are critical of poor internet.

The hotel still had the same high standards of cleanliness as on our first trip and thought how lovely it was that most of the staff members had remained there after a few years.I would say the only negative is that the phone signal is very poor and did prove a little problematic when trying to call homebut did not in anyway spoil our holiday.

If I had a criticism, the wifi is very poor and you spend more time trying to connect than you do connected, whereas just around the corner nearer town you have the benefit of 4G.

By nature I am very critical about poor service especially when you pay the prices a holiday in Italy costs these days.

but, despite help from the reception staff, we were unable to maintain a connection for more than a few seconds as the signal was too poor.

Toilet facilities at the former are poor.

Get the back of the hotel, and expect a poor view with potential noise.

This was very much appreciated as due to poor organisation between Thomson holidays and Naples airport we were unable to buy any food before our flight.

It is for this reason that I have marked sleep quality as poor.

The staff are so friendly and accommodating, in our group we had someone who couldn’t eat one particular thing and they always adapted the meal for that person so it was so inclusive!

The food is good and the atmosphere in the dining hall and other shared areas is pleasant.

Drink prices very reasonable for a hotel, especially 2 Euros for a coffee, and 5 for a draft pint of beer.

The food is excellent and the restaurant staff go above and beyond to make sure even the fussiest child can enjoy a meal.

Breakfast has a vast selection to suit everyone and the evening meals are excellent too and they are happy to accommodate all dietary requirements.

Thank you to all the staff on reception, Nino from behind the bar and to Marcello, Enzo, Francesco, Diego and all the other restaurant staff who looked after us during our stay.

The food, service, and facilities  are second to none.

Do the gala dinner on a Sunday it's lovely!!!

The facillities are very good, the food and staff excellent.

but no problem, a cold dinner of smoked salmon, meats, cheeses, fruit etc was provided and was more than enough!

You have quite a few choices each evening so perhaps we made the wrong choice on a couple of occasions and you could always visit the salad bar which was always very good.

The food is truly outstanding and the service of all of the staff is to be applauded.

That said, the staff was helpful in arranging a meal off menu for us.

Several times a week after dinner we were entertained by Lello and Carlos..two wonderfully gifted musicians.

Mini bar in room which we thought was reasonably priced.
