however due to such a noisy room and the fact that breakfast wasn't topped up once it had ran out (even with an hour remaining), I must rate this hotel as poor.

Thought the breakfast was quite poor and rooms lacked air-conditioning, I will recommend this hotel.

Our only complaints would be the poor WIFI reception and noisiness in 1st and 3rd floor rooms (we ended up moving rooms in the middle of our stay).

Only one thing, wifi in the room was poor, so I had to go to the lobby or a breakfast room to use internet fast.

The only too things that bothered us (other than bathroom quickness, see title) is a faint wooden odor, and poor sound insulation (we could hear people in the corridor, as well as our neighbors).

The breakfast was quite poor and rather tired looking.

Had I known about the continuous noise I would not have stayed.

Lots of noise every day from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. except Sunday.

This made it too noisy to enjoy sitting on the balcony - that along with the noisy main road.

There is some road noise and there is currently construction ongoing around the hotel.

The only issue for us was the road noise which, of course, the hotel can do nothing about!

We tried to watch the Tennis Fed Cup video stream and after 20 minutes we were blocked due to high internet traffic.

We were put on the bottom floor next to the dining area so it was loud for us through one door and it was set up a like a railroad, you had to walk through one of the bedrooms to get to the sitting space which is weird

It's on the main road so during the day there is a bit of road noise

Another reason, other than the noise, that I wouldn't recommend this hotel, is that the buffet breakfast wasn't refilled.

Considerable Road Noise; Had to upgrade to a superior room for an extra €25, just to reduce noise levels.

Would probably not stay there again due to the traffic outside.

Can be noisy and you can clearly hear activities in nearby rooms.

At the time of our visit the Jaccuzi at the hotel did not work  and it was quiet disappointing.

Going into the details, here is how we experienced it: our room was tiny with a window and a small balcony facing the main road and on the 2nd (practicly 1st) floor; too noisy to seat and enjoy a good book or a cup of coffee on the balcony.

The staff were lovely and welcoming, they even left us a very thoughtful honeymoon gift.

The staff were very helpful and if you needed something such as extra tissue all you had to do was ask.

But the staff there was very kind and nice.

We had a superior room with two large terraces and fantastic mountain views; really cosy room and comfy bed; lovely breakfast; and the staff are wonderful, especially Stefano on the front desk.

Great service, welcoming staff, clean rooms & comfortable bed kept us happy all the stay.

The guys at the front desk were exceptionally helpful for suggestions on activities, restaurants, and locations in the area which made our stay here so much better!

The views were fabulous, the location is great, the room was quite large (the balcony gigantic); the staff so warm, welcoming, and helpful,  a bountiful breakfast, and great parking right on site .

This is a biker friendly hotel, which is good to know, as we tour on our motorbike quite a lot.

We were met by the most friendly and professional staff.

The Inghams staff were brilliant throughout, really friendly, always smiling, efficient, sorted out a lesson problem right away with no quibble.

The team at the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful and reps Sean and Jack were excellent.

Food was either good or excellent (and I am quite fussy), and ALL the staff without exception were excellent- helpful friendly and professional.

but the food offering was poor on two fronts.

Fast forward 60 years from its 1950s and 60s heyday and few should be bothered about missing out on a trip to Cortina, a resort of fading grandeur, poor mountain infrastructure and questionable customer service in its second rate mountain restaurants (Col Druscie an honourable exception).

Overall the management of the hotel are poor.

Service and cleanliness was very poor, in marked contrast to the previous year.

Some first gen, LED or simmilar lights create poor, blury ligtning.

The service in hotel was very poor ,  breakfast option varied with each person you asked.

One very poor thing was the free WiFi which is shockingly bad, not just because of the low bandwidth

The only weakness was the poor showers and terrible internet connection.

However the resort is let down by poor transport and infrastructure between slopes/pistes.

Although Mother Nature did her best to disrupt our stay in terms of mega snow, poor visibility and lift closures.

The management and staff work hard to assist us with any matter and the only downside was the poor internet reception which tended to drop out a bit.

The furniture is oudated and  needs a change, the bathroom was tiny,  and the breakfast was very poor.

The star of the hotel: definitely the staff and manager  (thank you Francesco!).

Lovely friendly staff, room was lovely, with massive bathroom, comfy bed and spotlessly clean, great location in the middle of the town, it also has a few parking spaces for residents only.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful in finding a solution for storing our baggage we could not take on our hike.

April 18th 2019 had a fantastic time, the Inghams team were fabulous!

The staff - who were always highly rated in previous reviews, were upbeat and seemed to be very happy to help everyone.

Everything from the staff, food, hotel have been excellent.

Rooms were warm and comfortable, plenty of hot water, usual delightful chalet staff very well managed.

but honestly we were amazed at how well we were looked after and how the staff really went out of their way to accommodate the twins and provide them with a totally magical Christmas> All the Inghams staff were lovely, always smiling and happy to help, really kind to us and especially the children, we truly had a fabulous holiday.

He told us we could not charge our phone here.

Wifi: small charge of 2 euros for our 3 day stay.

Traveled with my little dog, no charge for her.

Only downside was that the wifi had a small charge (which was per-device as well), from memory I think it was E2 for the stay.

Pity they charge a small fee for internet access

Breakfast is sufficient, one of the weakest we have come across and none has ever charged extra for a carton of yogurt!

Adriano and family were very friendly and helpful.

As ever the staff are super friendly, the location in the centre of town is incredible and the prices very reasonable.

but once keeping the balcony door closed during the first hours it keeps the disturbances out very effectively so we really do not understand what other guests have bern complaining about in previous reviews.

Because it is an old building, the walls are not insulated well to prevent noise from others.

Only con's were the breakfast room could not seat everyone at once which was odd, and our room had a locked door to the next room (I imagine it converts to a larger family room if unlocked) which didn't provide much sound proofing.

While the location in the center of town is very convenient, one night there was a bit of noise.

The street noise level was also rather high because you needed to keep the windows open and there was quite a bit of traffic noise already at 5am.

The sound proofing could have been better, as the noises from other rooms could be disturbing if people are being loud, or yelling in the hallways.

Don't ask for the balcony if you are noise sensitive, this did not bother us at all because we were up early everyday to get to the mountains anyway.

although driving around the village is a nightmare  We stayed there out of season so it was quite quiet

A church is close by so do expect to hear the bells ringing in the morning.

To be able to wake up to the beautiful sound of the bells.

However you can hear EVERY sound from the surrounding rooms, walls are thin.

Yes, the hotel is old & the rooms are small,

Our room was rather small, hot (no air-conditioning which was a problem during the heat wave) and had a very uncomfortable bed, not very long - which would be a problem for those over 6 foot.

Brakfast room is quite small and can be crowded at times,

I spend whole 2 weeks here at single room. First I was given a very small room with no balcony ( there was a bath which I did miss at new room ! )

The owner Adriano is a legend,a wealth of local knowledge and knows a thing or two about Curling too!

I asked for him to ring the owner so I could speak to him and he refused.

Everyone at the front desk was also super helpful!

The Catholic Church is located right across the street and they ring the bells all day at specific times.

There is always someone at the front desk with a smile on their face, ready to assist you in anyway!

The owners are usually around depending on the time of day you check-in and the staff is warm and welcoming.

Breakfast was a nice spread, and we had a balcony with a view of the bell tower and the mountains.

The hotel is excellent choice and warmly recommend it to the future visitors.

There is a cute dog named Penny (I think she is the owner's dog) and we loved seeing her in the lobby.

but I was told the only rooms left were these two identical rooms sharing a wall with the lift - one of the rooms I'd been offered previously.

The art on the walls is the owner's personal collection from over 25 years of gifts from artists who have stayed at Hotel Montana.

The walls were very thin, so we heard our neighbors comings and goings and conversations all night long (well past 3 am).

but for many of the buildings down town, examine the dolomite quarried from around town, the rock sometimes contains small fossils in the building's walls.

The linens were dirty, the toilet and bathroom were not clean (hairs) and the ceiling and walls had mold stains.

The shuttle drivers, Max and Paulo, are fantastic, and likewise seemingly working ceaselessly to look after their guests - Max was particularly helpful and friendly, teaching us Italian words and phrases.

First class ,friendly , professional service with immaculately dressed staff (as the Italians always are)  .90 minutes drive from Venice Airport, 5 minutes drive from the slopes , 5 minutes drive from the village .

Everyone we encountered - housekeeping, concierge, check in staff, bar staff, waiters were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful.

Upon our arrival we were greeted by a friendly and professional staff.

Still, the hotel was well staffed, the staff was friendly and very helpful and everything went great.

Service at the hotel was top notch and friendly.

but bar & lounge a bit pricey and empty … that is the only downside.

You have to pay for parking (€20 outside, €40 inside per day).

As others have mentioned, the only thing I can fault the hotel on is the 20 euro/night parking fee for outdoor parking.

A free shuttle takes you into the town of Cortina whenever you like ( except at lunch and dinner for 45 minute break time) till 10 pm. My only gripe was the need to pay €20/day for parking ( and €40 for undercover parking!)

but there are other hotels closer to town and half the cost that are almost as nice.

Having to pay 30% deposit four months in advance, I always find this annoying

The food is overpriced and not as stellar as the rest of the experience,

The wine list - short, mostly sold out and incredibly expensive.

I felt this was quite mean for the price paid.

Certainly not at that price and not even at half the price.

though their prices are 5* Deluxe the service is grossly subpar for such place.

however make sure you save some cash for a taxi to get back as they are very expensive - less than 1km was €20!

The House keepers have stolen a very expensive crocodile belt, first day of my arrival.

one might overlook the hotel's weaker points were it not for the hugely and over-the-top expensive room rates - in short a very good option for cortina, and hopefully management is contemplating an upgrade, at least to bring hotel into the 21st century.

Just because it’s expensive, doesn’t mean its the best.

The concierge was always on top of things (I wish I had written this review sooner and could list all names) and the shuttle service into town and the slopes was seamless.

but so sad that this amazing hotel, staff and culture will be gone at the end of this week.

Every aspect of the stay was lovely - highly in part to the amazingly kind and helpful staff and wonderful Piano player, Paolo.

Everyone seemed truly engaged with guests in a gracious, helpful way.

We were met by a lovely staff member at check-in and had a great stay.
