Down a little side street from Corso Umberto where there are lots of shops (rather expensive) & some nice restaurants.

The location is prime two short blocks from Corso Umberto, the pedestrian commercial street of Olbia akin to Rodeo Drive of Hollywood, Fifth Avenue of Manhattan or Via Montenapoleone of Milan.

The hotel is just a few minutes stroll from the main street - Corso Umberto - so shopping & a plethora of restaurants are at your fingertips.

A big shout out to the Glamour Cafe on the Corso Umberto for a superb Aperol spritzers cheerfully served by a lovely young waiter.

Surprising to find an elegant Chinese restaurant, Mei Wei, with exceptional authentic cuisine a few blocks away on Corso Umberto I.

The location is great, just a few very short blocks from Corso Umberto.

It's good to know that the main street Corso Umberto is closed for the cars in the afternoon, if you are arriving with car.

Nice restaurants nearby or on the Corso Umberto, recommend La Laterna which is literally on the next street (great steak).

but still fairly quiet as it’s set back two streets from the main Corso Umberto.

The location of the Hotel is brilliant for wandering through the streets of Olbia and is near all amenities, there are plenty of traditional pizzerias and cafe bars within a short distance (and I would personally recommend Su Lionzu on Corso Umberto 1 for excellent pizza and value for money).

The receptionists were so helpful and friendly and the rooftop terrace is a real bonus to enjoy a late digestive :-) the room was very comfortable and large.

Our Superior room spacious and clean - Breakfast good choice -  all very fresh - meats (hot and cold) , cheese, eggs,  pastries, yogurts, cereals, fresh fruit etc.

The rooms are immaculately clean, the en suite bathroom is sanitized well, the buffet breakfast is quite good for Italian hotel standards with hot scrambled eggs, delicious mushrooms, soft boiled egg, tomatoes, cold cuts, hot beverages such as espresso, capucchino, americano coffee, tea and cold beverages such as different juices and milk, cereals, yogurt, different breads, etc.

Our room was clean and large for our 10 days.

The hotel was spotlessly clean and our room was comfortable and well set out.

We found The Hotel Panorama  wonderful with pleasant, cheery, knowledgeable staff to whom nothing is too much trouble, and we're including the cleaning staff, breakfast staff as well as the front of house reception staff and management,  Rooms are spotless and well maintained and the breakfast is a very very good buffet style.

Also, the room was clean and nice and quiet.

The rooms are spotlessly clean, simply decorated with (what looked like) new bathrooms.

Service throughout the Hotel was first rate and the roof terrace is amazing, there was even a lightening storm one night and we saw it flash across the sky.

For those wishing to catch a bit of sun quietly, the roof terrace is perfect as well as giving the panoramic views the hotel is named for

There was also a roof terrace with deckchairs etc.

The hotel has a fantastic rooftop terrace with amazing views over the the bay _the spa is also well worth a visit _finally the reception staff are exceptionally polite and helpful  also the breakfast service was good too highly recommended

The rooftop terrace overlooking the town & out to sea has sun beds & is an added bonus for a hotel in the centre of town.

On top of the hotel is a beautiful roof top terrace.

The hotel has an excellent rooftop terrace which is really worth a visit as it has the best views of the city and it has sun loungers so you can sunbathe if you like.

There is a Spa , where you can relax and treat yourself to treatments 
The main feature for us was the Roof Terrace with it's panoramic  views of Olbia, breath taking.

We really enjoyed the service on the terrace on the 6th floor.

A very nice roof terrace gives a nice view of the city.

There isn’t a whole lot to do in olbia, we were only passing through for 2 nights, so having somewhere we could just sit and relax was great, and the rooftop terrace covered all bases, very good value for drinks and amazing views, lots of room up there too, nothing to much trouble for staff.

The roof terrace is designed so not to disturb any other guests so perfect for a small party.

The roof terrace was very nice and it was good to phone down to order drinks or snacks.

The Rooftop Terrace has magnificent views over Olbia and is a great place to relax, enjoy the sun and have a drink which can be ordered by telephone and delivered up to you. Delightful.

There is a split level roof terrace which is a great feature.

The weather was mixed so the roof terrace did get a brief visit and has three levels which all have, as they say, the best views in town.

The breakfast was really good and all the staff were so friendly, special mention to Mario who encouraged me when practicing my Italian and kindly gave us two books about Sardinia’s history and beaches!

but has great beaches and friendly people who will win your hearts.

As gold members we were offered a free upgrade by Barbara and stayed in a wonderful suite with a huge private balcony overlooking the town!!

Without a car you can use buses to visit a few beaches

Olbia is a great place to explore beautiful beaches around and Doubletree Olbia is yet a good option for a place to stay.

It was a good 15-20 minutes walk around the edge of the harbour to a couple of streets of shops and restaurants.

After that we realize that hotel's location was great, we could go to almost all beaches from Costa Smeralda as we were in the middle of it.

This hotel is out of Olbia so a brisk 15 minute walk to the centre & 7km from a beach.

We did try to plan a coastal excursion by boat (pick up a leaflet or book it in hotel at the dedicated desk for such things ) 

Fabulous facilities - lady and taxi driver on the shore excursion desk were incredibly helpful.

Took local buses to visit lovely beaches.

As every four star hotel I have ever been to has.. ( now I say this as we travel four / five times each year)
Even when we traveled down the Adriatic coast of Italy we stayed in a 3 star with a long trouser smart casual dress code.!!

I asked three or four people on the front desk for a lot of guidance on beaches and restaurants and they couldn’t have been more helpful.

Was able to visit a different beach each day and return to the hotel without any hassle.

It is strategically positioned to the airport,  to Olbia city,  to beautiful beaches to the north and to the south.

People at the desk are highly unfriendly (cold welcome, no explanation, in fact no nothing).

At the 2/9 coming back from the beach around also ~7pm, feeling a bit cold, I decided to make myself tea.

Other members of reception staff remained cold and aloof throughout our stay.

All the “hot” food was cold (the lamps were not keeping it hot).

Breakfast is cold, scrambled eggs sat in an unheated container left to go cold.

Sadly unless you caught the items just brought out, bacon/tomatoes/scrambled eggs were sometime cold (at best luke warm).

They gave us stale chips and charged 8 EUR for a cold toast, and did not agree when I told them it was old.

but she would not refund me so i had to stay. it was a very upsetting stay at a hotel that had cold breakfast was not kept warm and the hotel had at least 70 cameras all over the hotel which made you look like you was being watch all the time.4 euros for water at dinner with no complaints process at all i will robbed.if you look at my large amount of reviews most all good one word (shocking)

but we used it twice towels cold water provided.

We went down at 9.15 (finishes 10) and all the hot food bowls were near on empty, not refilled and the majority of it was cold - I mean fridge cold.

It is true the two lifts are a little maddening and it's hard to explain the pattern with which they arrive, many times bypassing the floor you were on to go to another floor and sometimes taking ages with no rhyme or reason and on two mornings the hot food - bacon, sausages, scrambled eggs and potatoes were stone cold, and one I gave up waiting for sausages and bacon to be replenished and had something else instead - that could be improved with hotplates BUT .

Cold mushrooms from a can, strange overcooked scrambled eggs and lukewarm tomatoes.

I don't recommend.they change the towels after 3 days.we had in the room ants.the breakfast is very poor.for 3 days they give us the towels pour beach after they say no because if we go out from the hotel we will pay a fine.the most of the personnel there they are very cold I speaks unfriendly even if a speak very good italienne.

The breakfasts were just appalling - there was no service, the choice was very poor and the few cooked items available were always cold.

What was missing perhaps was the local accent - yes, they had a bit of the local cold cuts

There's a swimming pool which is apparently pretty cold - we sat around it

The only bummer was that the jacuzzi was not heated and as cold as the other pools.

At the pool area there was a great guy called Antonio who looked after us for most of the week and was extremely helpful and very good at cleaning and sanitising !!

The swimming pool area was very clean and Antonio the lifeguard was attentive and made sure the deck chairs were disinfected each time a guest left the area.

The positives of the hotel are the nice pool area, bar and rooms.

The bed is the most amazing comfy bed I’ve ever slept in and the showers in the rooms are awesome.

When we check in and we asked to the swimming pool, they told us the pool is cloed.

Always going the extra mile, no matter how small the request!

Since they did not mention any upgrade at the check-in, I asked if anything was possible

She was not happy that guests, including us wanted to sit in the part that overlooked the beautiful pool and even asked one man to move when he had already sat down with his breakfast!

It seemed perfect sense to her that a person would revenge like that just because someone asked him to put a mask, as if in this more than 7 floors building with I don't know how many rooms has only one person that cleans rooms.

When we asked the poolboy if we could reserve a sunbed for the next day, he told us no because the sunbeds were reserved for the management.

even though we asked more than once for it to be fixed.

Asked for food late afternoon from bar menu before going to the Airport was offered a tasteless toastie or advised by staff to go to McDonald’s which was not in walking distance, this was not the staffs fault it was hotel management.

We requested adjacent rooms which were sorted without issue.

Two times I asked at reception desk, nothing has changed.

At exactly 7am, we asked again and were told to wait as the restaurant wasn’t open yet.

If we are being really picky, the rap music being played at the pool was at times too loud - another guest asked for it to be turned down a couple of times - and the content quite offensive (we aren't prudes

in advance we asked for rooms on a high floor and we had to fight with the hotel so that they would take us from first floor to high floor and it was very unpleasant to see the behavior of the receptionist and her manager when we left the hotel We told them that next week we expect to receive a room on a high floor and they promised us,

her answer was this was against the law even so i did contact the reception on this before i bought it down she said i should leave the hotel i asked for the money for another hotel

One morning when I asked for a bowl, the waiter was very rude to me.

I requested a dish and cutlery to take with me up to my suit as my wife suggested we´d need them for breakfast,

Requests for air to be fixed were unsuccessful (repairmen was not available as it was weekend).

After a while of talking and with carabinieri we asked to calm down, in the idea that I could not leave the hotel because the wife is in the first months of pregnancy.

Unfortunately we were not offered anything in exchange for the caused inconvenience (although we explicitly asked).

When my husband asked for an Irish coffee (on the bar menu) he was told there was no cream on two nights running.

On the positive, the toiletries are Crabtree and Evelyn and everything was very clean in the room, the hallways and the common areas.

And the room was so clean just like the hotel.

The room was always very clean, comfortable and light and airy.

Stayed at Double tree in May 2018 The hotel is spotlessly clean rooms are well equipped and very comfortable.

The hotel has more plusses than minuses - such as charging guests for bottled water from the room when there is no indictation that payment is required.

The room was large, modern clean and well maintained, my only complaint was that the bathroom tiles get very slippery once the shower has been on as the water doesn’t drain.

There is a mini bar with stil and sparkling water which is charged at 2.50 euros per bottle (small).

The water dispenser would be empty for days without replacement.

Out dated hair dryer in bathroom and missing a kettle.

Shower was clogged first day we arrived, water still going down very slowly after they fixed it for the rest of our stay.

although ours could use a little attention in the bathroom as the toilet seat was a bit broken.

although they did miss large “staining” which was left by the previous guest on the outside of the toilet and I did have to show the cleaner where it was as they hadn’t picked up on it.

It seemed to be stuck in the Sixties, with old tiles, a toilet seat that required two attempts to be fixed before a long overdue replacement was fitted.

The bathroom in our room is very old and there is mold.

This is old - there were a bathtub with shower curtain.

We had a minor detail problem with the shower.

Our only complaint would be that the shower needs updating and the lighting in the bedroom improved, it was very dim and no light over the dressing table.

The rooms and bathrooms are dated and that was my only concern.

Our room was in a side building and a bit worn, especially the bathroom.

but clean, although the bathroom is tired with the shower in the bath badly positioned, which means the shower curtain wraps itself around you whilst trying to shower.

However it was quite gloomy and I do not like shower units in baths with nylon curtains.

Water pressure in the shower was terrible, no iron in the room, lighting very dim, no fan in the room, and just not 4 star anymore.

although the bathrooms are perhaps due an upgrade soon.

Pool area nice, never an issue to get a lounger.

Good sized pool with lifeguard , again surrounded by sun loungers.

We went in early to mid June and there was plenty of pool loungers and space, plus they have two little private beaches with a couple of loungers on them too (wouldn't be easily accessible to everyone) which are lovely and quiet.

There was an amazing choice of relaxing spots either by the pool, gardens, private beach coves or on the hotels loungers at the end of the beach nearest the hotel….simply gorgeous

The pool with sea water, loungers and parasols are well-kept.

Maybe move along to public beach if you want to do anything other than lay on the lounger.

The extensive grounds are well tended with lots of little nooks and crannies to put your sun lounger on which are plentiful and comfortable.

Pool - lovely, not crowded at all, no rush for loungers - clean and with a lifeguard who also oversees the small poolside library/towel situation.

The hotel has a lovely pool with plenty of loungers and very helpful lifeguards, and also it's own private beach!!
