One particular morning, there was a birthday in the group, and the chef prepared for that lady an exquisite plate of chocolate dipped strawberries.

Breakfast the first day on Sunday a large buffet with several options including hot soup.evey other day was made to order to order juice eggs any style fruit and breads with coffee or chocolate.

Overall, we loved the design and environment the hotel has, with a touch of local architecture

with excellent location and very nice design and decoration !!!

They provided the food/drinks (for 100 guests), wedding cake, band recommendations, decorations, and a wedding planner (Patricia) who was amazing and understood my vision for the decorations, which was impressive, as it was all done over texting.

The bathrooms are well appointed, and the lobby is spacious and inviting.

The hotel is located with great vistas and a very relaxing atmosphere.

The room was impecable, the matress felt like a cloud and the ambiance made it for a romantic stay.

Terra Barichara offers great food (modern Italian) at a small locale (20 or so rooms) in an extremely relaxing environment.

I really liked the vibe from the entire hotel and the fact that you can stay connected with nature.

The location, the trees, the gardens, the pool, the room, the service, the beautiful surroundings, the owners (I had a really fun chat with them), the wine, the art pieces, the fresh air and the tranquility were absolutely outstanding.

The hotel is a contemporary Mediterranean style with some really nice decor and furniture.

What my wife, Sandra, and l liked the most, was a romantic dinner with exquisite Italian food and live guitar solo (ever greens from the fifties till the seventies).

but with Colombian construction techniques and materials, nicely decorated around the theme of the hotel (see some pics).

The hotel and restaurant have a magnificent arquitecture style in harmony with that of the surrounding area.

Breakfast (included) is basic, most is prepared early therefore freshness is very low… breads and arepas were overheated so flavor and taste is very poor, fruits were fresh.

Rest of the week very poor service level.

there is only one down side the breakfast is of poor quality and has to be improved imideately.. anyway apart from that you can not go wrong booking this place.

but certainly the hotel suffered from some poor management decisions and problematic policies that diminished our experience signifigantly.

The massage was so relaxing and done professionally.

but feels like a retreat away from it all.

The rooms are simple yet very clean and comfortable, the location (10 minutes outside of Barichara) is tranquil and the views are spectacular. The restaurant serves wonderful breakfast (best arepas, ever!)

If you are looking for a relaxing getaway from the hustle of a large city this destination is perfect.

We had an incredible stay at Terra, the hotel is an oasis for relaxation and perfect escape for a long weekend away.

The great: the isolation of the rooms allow for complete silence with long and restful nights.

After a long trip from Australia, our plan with my family was to relax and enjoy Barichara and its surroundings, and we got exactly what we where looking for; rooms were amazing (comfy beds, really nice bathrooms, very cool decoration) with relaxing hammocks in front of each room, endless pool with an incredible view of Barichara, nice thermal pools and spa area, and excellent food service.

The fact of being small (20 rooms) and located outside town (4km from Barichara and 16km from San Gil), makes it the perfect place for a relaxing experience.

but rather a relaxing place with friends and employees committed to make you feel comfortable.

A true gem for the traveler who wants a relaxing time close to the nearby attractions of Barichara.

The upside of the location is the serenity and beautiful night sky free from light pollution.

All the reviews are spot on - it is truly a beautiful setting with gorgeous views of the mountains and a very relaxing atmosphere.

(I am chef of a 5-star restaurant, I know when food has been preped with care) The colonial archetecture is fabulous with incredible views from the courtyard (as is typical of historic structures such as this)  and Barichara itself is on the historic register, and therefore you will experience the beautifully maintened colonial structure of the entire town.

The hotel is located outside Barichara city, the view is great with all the surrounding mountains.

The rooms are amazing, they are clean (you are able to really sleep) and spacious, the pool and dining area have the best view in town, the food its delicious and the new spa. !!!

Other considerations: wifi works on common areas and not in the rooms (because of the isolation) - in my view this is neither good or bad.

We spent twp nights here and were comfortable in our rather small room with ceiling fan.

Clean towels both days, hot water,  fan working (you don't actually need an AC) tiny rooms.

Maybe if we had called they would have turn on the heater, since it happened again in the morning and they turned it on.

I would recommend staying in Barichara, 30 minutes away, and taking a taxi to San Gil to do the adventure sports.

Great value for money and wonderful home base for activities in and around San Gil.

but enough to keep you well caloried up for the activities (which the hotel can arrange for you).

Our first time visiting San Gil we did not expect much from the hotel our goal was to explore as many outdoor activities as we could and we did and

The hotel is very modern and i found that it looked crisp and clean compared to some of the other places in San Gil, the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and were keen to offer suggestions about activities in the area.

I stayed a few days and I found the hotel nice (the hotel premises are clean, location is good, close to the beach and shops, bars and restaurants)

The walls are thin and you can hear the TVs of other guests so not good if you want an early night.The bedside light in my room wasn't working and the shower head was missing so rather than a shower there was just a jet of water.Though the shower had hot water there was none for the hand basin which was odd

although the hot water takes a while to kick on.

For the price point of this hotel along with its good location I am impelled to give it 5 stars as it is what it is which is a no-frills hotel with smallish rooms, urban building setting, small afterthought pool, a free breakfast, walking distance in town, so there you have it.

The bonus is the great shower with great pressure and hot water, decent wifi and good restaurant -- again the staff overdeliver on service and friendliness.

Hotel is a short walk to town which has many interesting restaurants with local foods.

however, the stay at the puerto bahia hotel was a pleasant delight.clean,quite, staff eager to help, food was delicious and the room service quick.

Our room is very small and has very little space to walk around the end of the bed to go from the door to the bathroom.

We loved our stay at Puerto Bahia, from the moment we arrived we were treated by a warm welcome by the staff.

Breakfast was included in our package and was very basic.The local bus from Curiti also kindly dropped us at the same place.

The beds were some of the hardest any of us had ever slept on, the pool water was questionably opaque, and our toilet leaked non-stop meaning that the bathroom constantly had a layer of water on the floor.

The beds are really good and the rooms were always clean.

We were warmly welcomed at the front desk by nice man claiming to be the owner, he accommodated me, my wife and our three children in a very nice room with single beds and a large double bed.

You need a taxi to go to town or the activities and breakfast is served super slow.

The breakfast is average and the service very slow.

Unfortunately it was late and we had been driving all day so time to test the bed and it was very very comfortable and before we knew it was breakfast time!!!

Unfortunately, we had paid for the rooms in advance so there wasn’t much we could do other than refuse to pay the breakfast & mini-bar bill.

Beautiful hotel, with lovely gardens and very friendly staff with great service, great location, swimming pool.

People at the hotel were also very friendly and helped us to accommodate.

At first we were quite happy, as the staff were friendly checking us into spacious rooms & property seemed reasonably clean.

There is a lovely pool area we didnt get to use,

I could've stayed at the hotel the whole trip and had a great time just laying on the hammocks, lounging by the pool, or chatting with the staff.

For the brief time the rain stopped and the sun was out, we enjoyed the pool and the staff was very attentive with offering us drinks while we were out there.

Although we were not there for the hotel and haven't seen all of the facilities, those we saw (for example the pool and jacuzzi) were less well maintained than the pictures in the promotions bring you to expect.

They had two pools one for adults and one for our kids to play with and the view is really breathtaking.

We enjoyed dinner at the restaurant and beers by the pool.

The green areas have pretty decorations & the pool has a great view and ambiance.

I got up to see what the noise was to wade through about an inch deep of water.

I assumed, after hearing what their dog had done, that they would be happy to at least give me a discount on the room to offset the cost of the ruined jacket.

My friend had a terrible sleep for the noise nearby, not a  problem for me.

Again, they did help facilitate us ordering from restaurants so that is another option if you don't want to leave the grounds.

A great selection of choices and more than enough to see you through to lunch.

I recommend the restaurant in front of the park "Gallineral" named San Parilla spectacular typical food and good service.

Arrival check in was extremely smooth and swift and we had our room, which was clean, fresh and well furnished within minutes.

The decoration of the room was according to the romantic atmosphere of the hotel and all areas where clean.

The rooms are simple and are accommodating.

From the moment we got there, Luis took care of us: set us up with tourguide, explained us how/where/what to eat/do/travel.

We found the staff to be very professional, totally positive and responsive to our questions about the local area.

The receptionist was very helpful and saved our day!

We were able to book a tour that night with bike junkies who picked us up the next day to ride to Juan Curie waterfall.

but the staff guided us to it very well through the phone.

but the landscape of the hotel is just stunning.

Overall, it's a beautiful hotel with a great staff & a beautiful view.

They also were great with helping us set up a white water rafting trip and giving us information on waterfall hikes (which unfortunately we were not able to do because of flooding).

but a little small and water heater is not reliable which is a real issue considering the temperature of the water.
